Fuyihao International Youth Hostel (Central Street, Saint Sophia Cathedral) Reviews

It was my first time staying in a hostel and it was nice! The location was pretty good, only 15 min walk from the subway station and in the city center which was extremely useful because we went in a crowded time for Harbin, making it hard to get Didi sometimes. However, I must say that there are no sitting toilets, only squat ones, and the showers have no division in between them. I guess people had the mutual understanding to not go into the shower when it was being used already, so I showered alone thankfully. The boss of the hostel is nice! If you don’t speak chinese, just get a translator app and you’ll be fine, and the other people in the hostel were all chinese also, all very friendly.

Directly next to CENTRAL STREET, the must go place in Harbin. GOOD Eateries and grocerie just next door. Directions by bus or subway to popular tourist spots are written on the notice board. The operator work and sleep behind the counter. Can get assistance at any time.Very popular with youths. BAD Need to obtain toilet paper from counter. Using stairs to reach below road level hostel entrance not suitable for traveller with bulky luggage.

Heads up to the foreigners: The bathrooms are very Chinese. But a Super efficient with check in. Even with minimal to no Chinese ability. The rooms are clean enough for a simple task of sleeping and getting up early to move on with your tourist things! Close to the fun side of town too!

The hotel is close to Central Avenue. The staff is friendly.

It’s a great location and there’s good public space to meet other people. Be advised though that the shower are communal showers without any partition. I always had the entire shower room for myself though while I was there, even with the ice&snow festival going on

Only location is strategist but the bathroom shared. I could not imagine shared bathroom for shower

Location: N*** central pedestrian street, near Hongzhuan morning market, within walking distance. About 1km to Sofia Cathedral. Cleanliness: Acceptable for backpackers like me. Service: The room is equipped with a heater but it is not always on. However, the hotel is still very cozy. There are not many other additional services because this is a budget hotel.

The room is clean and tidy, the boss is very enthusiastic, the location is very good, and it is very close to various attractions.

The double room I booked has privacy and is much more affordable than a hotel. It only costs 11 yuan to take a taxi from the train station. As soon as you go out, you will see Central Street. There are also many restaurants nearby. The subway station is not far away, so it is very convenient to go anywhere. Although it is a public bathroom, you will not run into others most of the time. Most of the time, tourists are either sleeping or playing outside. There is heating and hot water. Overall, I am very satisfied

The toilet was not disinfected and there was dirt on it. The hot water only lasted for 5 to 10 minutes before it turned cold. We had to use cold water to wash. The hair dryer had to go to the public area. The towel for washing face and hands had to be paid 5 yuan each. The room was not cleaned. When I came back and asked the front desk, the front desk blamed us for not notifying us in advance and making a lot of noise. In the room, the voices of the front desk, the corridor, and the next room were all clearly heard, and I couldn't rest well.

The hostel is in a good location, on Central Street, next to a supermarket and restaurant. The front desk guy is very nice. I didn't look at the pictures and only thought about booking a cheap room, so I booked the wrong room. When I wanted to check out, the guy upgraded our room to a private bathroom. The room was also very clean and comfortable. If I have the opportunity to go to Harbin next time, I will come to this hotel again
