Gayana Marine Resort Reviews

We stayed 2 nights and had a fantastic stay despite the bad weather on the first day. We received great services from the resort management team Mr Karl, Ms Siti, Mdm Lydia also from the restaurant and recreational team members. We look forward to be back again!  Booked the family suite that is beautifully furnished and got a fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from the room as well as variety of fishes swimming below us.  Snorkelling and kayaking are complimentary for the entire day and was great way for us to explore the beautiful waters.  On the last day, we unfortunately left our tablet in the room and we were notified immediately upon arrival at the jetty and the resort arranged it to be delivered to their jetty office within the same afternoon.  Overall it was a great experience and the welcoming and departure greetings by the management team were certainly memorable and beyond our expectations!

The service was excellent. The staff know us by name and were always ready to make our stay comfortable. The view was spectacular. Once you set foot on the Gayana Marine Resort, you will be one with nature. The environment just calms you down 😁

Enjoyed our stay in this resorts. It’s like a small Malaysian maldives. Perfect service! Thank you manager Karl for everything! Lot of activities all day, such as kayaking, tour to the mangrove jungle, snorkelling, diving or just relax on the pool. Breeze villa very comfy and large. Kids also became a part of saving coral area of Gaya island.

My partner and I just had three nights in a Palm Villa at Gayana Marine Resort! What a place to stay…. Simply amazing! Right from the start everything was perfect. We arrived at the ferry and the staff were really helpful. The ferry left on time and took less than 30 mins. On arrival we had cold towels and a drink. Everything was fully explained by the staff and we were taken to our room about 30 minutes early. The Palm Villa was gorgeous!!! If you can spend a little more and have this room it’s worth it!! I was speechless when I walked in. Super clean and tidy! The online photos do not do this resort justice!! We ate at the Macac Restaurant. There was lots to choose from on the menu and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Breakfast is included and everything was made fresh to order. There was also a buffet which had pastries, fruit, cereal and lots more! We made use of the water sports which are also included. We used the kayaks and paddle boards. Lots available and you just turn up and ask, no need to book! Every single member of staff was lovely!! Everyone greets you, is very polite and they can’t do enough to help. Their English was impressive! We had only booked two nights but loved it so much we extended our stay!!! I highly recommend this place and hope the management see this review to pass on to staff. Such a beautiful place to relax and chill! I highly recommend for couples or solo travellers who want some peace and alone time! what a place to relax! Most of the travellers stayed for a day, but i stayed for 3D2N. Managed to sleep in and rest the first day and did snorkelling/kayaking on the 2nd day. 1 thing to take note: for this booking of accommodation is just the resort by itself. therefore there isnt any other food or stores around it! other than it's own restaurant (for some might be expensive) so bring your own snacks and drinks if you're like me hungry in the middle of the night 🥴 Other than that, this is a beautiful place! def a good place to visit and disconnect!

Nice room, nice environment, and the sea view is a must when visiting this resort. But don’t stay longer than 2D1N because there is nothing much that you can do on this island.

It was really the best accommodation! There are many activities to do in the resort, so you don't have to experience anything else. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that there were no restaurant options... It was even more disappointing because food was not allowed due to the monkeys, but other things made up for that shortcoming.

Same as above, it may be the jellyfish breeding season that caused the floating experience to be zero. The service itself is sloppy, and the hotel facilities are generally maintained. The price is expensive, and everything is charged

An island hotel that requires a boat to check in, the environment is really beautiful. You can snorkel and kayak unlimited times when staying. If the weather is fine, you will have a very comfortable vacation. However, I encountered an unexpected situation this time, which was very uncomfortable. The shampoo in the bathroom was accidentally broken. I didn't expect that the shampoo bottle was made of glass, and there was no warning that it was fragile. When checking out, the hotel charged me 250 Malaysian ringgits, which is equivalent to RMB 412, on the grounds that the bottle was customized. . . I communicated with the store manager to charge appropriately, but he was rejected outright. It's the first time I've encountered a hotel guest who accidentally broke a glass bottle and had to pay so much money! Other Chinese compatriots must pay attention! These bottles were simply placed on the bathroom stool without any protection.

Be sure to read this review. The scenery is beautiful, and the staff of water facilities such as boating are particularly friendly. The rest is very bad. First of all, please remember: this hotel is ranked in Ctrip's luxury hotel rankings. We booked the most expensive suite, nearly 4,000 per night, for four days. 1. The water in the bathtub was yellow on the first day. The front desk said it was a lighting problem. Two days later, we felt something was wrong. The worker said to drain the water for 20 minutes, and we did it. It was still yellow, and the front desk still said it was a lighting problem and insisted that the water was clean and was mountain water. Please see the picture. After the water settles, it is all mud and sand. We were deceived, and the children and adults took baths and washed with this dirty water. 2. On the last night, the restaurant gave the children a children's menu. I asked why we stayed for three days and only saw the children's menu tonight. The clerk laughed and said sorry, we forgot. Why did all the clerks forget all three days and six meals? 3. For our suite, you can book the restaurant to deliver breakfast to the room. The clerk said that it can only be delivered at 9 o'clock at the earliest, and it must not be delivered in advance. On the last day, we found that the white people in the next room had their breakfast delivered to the room at more than 8 o'clock. Why are they treated differently? 4. The front desk only explained the water source problem, saying that the loud noise in the room was due to the water pump problem, and never mentioned compensation. We always stay in local luxury hotels every time we travel, and this is the first time we have encountered such absurd situations. Our friends also stayed for one night, and the water was also yellow. I will formally write a letter to the hotel to complain. Since the hotel is a luxury hotel, what is the definition of a luxury hotel? There are many Chinese guests in the hotel. Is there a discrimination problem? I hope everyone will not encounter similar experiences. My friends and I will never stay in any hotel under echo again 

If the weather is good, staying in this room is really worth it. First of all, the room is very large and can be used for parties. There is a small living room at the entrance, and then there is a restaurant with a glass bottom. On the right side, there is a step up to the big bed. On the left side, there is a bathroom with separate wet and dry bathtubs that can seat two adults. Look at the sea It's great that the room has its own private swimming pool. You can take a dip in the water after coming to the sea. It's very comfortable. It's also very convenient to use the independent washing bar on the deck. You can also see the stars while sitting on the small deck at night. It's romantic. The glass in front of the door is single-sided glass. You can't see in from the outside, but it doesn't hurt your eyes when you look in. This design is quite considerate. The price of the room already includes breakfast, which can also be delivered to the room. Sitting on the transparent dining table to have breakfast is a full experience. You can also see fish swimming around under the room. Since there are not many such rooms and you have to walk to the end, the sea view is almost unobstructed, the water is also very clean, and there are not many people nearby, so the fish are less likely to be scared away. The hotel has various types of projects to participate in. We went canoeing in the mangrove forest. It was a very interesting experience. The price seems to be RM45/person and the time is about 45 minutes. This time it was a filial piety trip, so I spent a lot of money to book this room type. The result was not disappointing at all and unexpectedly satisfying. I recommend it to everyone who travels on honeymoon or wants to be luxurious. If it's just for friends to check in, we passed by and saw that the ocean villa looked good. The rooms are three-quarters smaller than the palm villa. The ocean area is shared with many rooms, but it is also a great visual experience, but there is relatively less privacy. get a lot There were no comments about this room type when I made the reservation, and there were no reference pictures on the official website.
