Hotels in Beijing Railway Station, Jianguomen and Guomao Area, Beijing

This guesthouse, tucked away in a hutong, is the former residence of Edgar Snow and perfectly captures the old Beijing hutong charm. I stayed at Beijing Zhong An Hotel for three days, and my overall experience was excellent. The hotel staff were warm and attentive; one of the service guys even helped me carry my luggage to the room. During my stay, I saw many foreign guests, which created a great atmosphere. The breakfast, especially, was a highlight. It was a Western and Chinese buffet with a rich variety of authentic dishes, catering to both Chinese breakfast preferences and Western light meals. The hotel's location is also superb, close to Beijing Railway Station. There's a small alleyway from the hutong that leads you to the hotel in about a hundred meters, and it's also very near Tiananmen Square, making transportation incredibly convenient. Overall, it's great value for money and highly recommended.

Having visited Beijing many times, I've noticed that hotels closer to Tiananmen Square are usually more expensive and have older facilities. This hotel is probably the best one I've stayed at in Beijing. The facilities are very new, and the service is excellent, with timely housekeeping every day. What's more, the hotel's location is fantastic; it's very close to Dongdan Metro Station, making it convenient to get anywhere. It offers exceptional value for money!

Location: Excellent! If you're cycling, you can reach the Qianmen/Tiananmen security checkpoints within half an hour. This is super convenient when it's impossible to get a taxi due to large crowds at tourist spots (though do note that you can't cycle with kids on Chang'an Avenue; you'll get a warning...). Room: The hygiene was reassuring, the room felt relatively new, and the size was appropriate. (A 1.5-meter bed in a single room might be a bit small for a family of three, though). Staff: I want to especially commend the gentle and professional front desk agent, Ms. Tang Xiaoye. Even though I arrived very late, she showed no signs of fatigue and promptly offered alternative solutions for issues I hadn't considered when booking. A huge shout-out to this kind, lovely, and professional lady! Also, Ms. Liang Hongyan from housekeeping always greeted me with a smile every day and promptly responded to my requests for room cleaning. She was diligent and hardworking, which made me feel very at ease. Zhao Jia Lou Hotel is definitely my top recommendation for my next trip to Beijing. I look forward to staying here again! ❤️

My overall experience at the Beijing International Hotel was great. It's an old-school five-star hotel with an excellent location right next to Chang'an Avenue. High-floor rooms offer city views of Chang'an Avenue, and it's very close to the National Museum and Wangfujing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the service is attentive, and the breakfast selection is rich. The only downside is its proximity to the main Chang'an thoroughfare, which means traffic restrictions during major events. Getting a taxi in and out can sometimes be inconvenient, with detours at certain times and limited drop-off points, so you need to allow extra time when calling a car. Overall, for travelers visiting Beijing, the location is a major plus. Just be sure to check for traffic restriction information in advance for an even better stay.

The young lady at the front desk during the day was incredibly enthusiastic. My husband and I, two seniors, had two large suitcases, and she helped us carry them downstairs. She even waited with us for our ride-hailing car and helped us load them in. We really can't thank her enough! The location is great; turn right out of the main entrance and there's a delicious Shunde restaurant. The food is fantastic! The hotel's location is truly excellent, though the only drawback is the lack of an elevator.

This is a very good choice for a family hotel, two large beds, big room and nice sized bathroom. Location is excellent only 1 min to Beijing Railway station metro. Shops and restaurants 100m outside. Close to Wangfujing, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven etc. The morning breakfast is incredible. At least 10-12 selections, then dim sum and hot pot. Coffee and pastry section, large seating area with spacious seating. I don't think its possible to find a better breakfast at this price point. For those a little adventurous there's a barber in the Hutong less than 3 min away for authentic Chinese barber experience, inquire at reception. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Use a language app to figure out laundry settings. Overall wonderful experience with a suprise gift from the hotel on checkout.

Exceeded my expectations! The entire place was spotless, and the bathroom was dry and odor-free. It's very close to Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing. The front desk staff and the cleaning lady were all incredibly kind and gentle. There's a super cute cat in the courtyard 🐱 that only stays in the garden and doesn't enter the dining area or guest rooms, which is great for people with cat allergies. It felt as comfortable as home, and the skylight in the courtyard provided excellent natural light, creating a wonderful atmosphere! You can also order simple meals and drinks at the front desk. For this price, there's truly no other place like it within Chang'an Avenue. I'll definitely be back next time!

Having traveled to Beijing for business countless times, this was by far the best experience. It's superior to hotels like Atour in every aspect. The rooms are spacious, the facilities are excellent, and the front desk service is incredibly attentive and thorough.

The shower in the room was excellent and very comfortable. The hotel is also very close to all the attractions, and getting around is super convenient. I definitely recommend staying here!

I arrived at the hotel before 6 AM. I had booked a windowless room, and the front desk offered an upgrade to a room with a window for an extra 89 RMB for two nights, which also allowed early check-in. I agreed. The window was tiny, and not only small, but it overlooked some kind of platform rather than a street view. Given the early check-in, I didn't complain. After checking in, I noticed many rooms were empty, which made me wonder why my original windowless room couldn't have been offered for early check-in. I don't get it. Now, for the pros and cons: Pros: The location is genuinely excellent. It's right across the street from Beijing Railway Station, just a sky bridge away. The entrance is next to a Line 2 subway station, making it very convenient to get around. There's a convenience store and snack shops downstairs, so if you don't want the hotel breakfast, you can easily grab something outside. The room wasn't small, and the hygiene was decent. The staff were also very friendly. Cons: The hotel lobby is confusing. There's an outer room that's a small restaurant, and an inner room that's the actual lobby. The hotel's restaurant is on the second floor, which oddly enough, is also the lobby for another hotel. Our rooms were on the third floor. And then, I think on the fifth floor, there's yet a third hotel. The environment is really chaotic. Plus, as soon as you step out of the elevator, there's a strong smell of recent renovation in the hallway. The breakfast selection was very limited – honestly, there was barely anything to eat. Besides sliced bread, they even had individually packaged Daliyuan mini bread, which felt incredibly perfunctory. The handheld showerhead holder in the room was broken. At around 600 RMB a night, I suppose it's due to the prime location and the summer holiday season.
