The hotel room was decent in size—not too small and not too big. The toilet was equipped with a bidet, which was convenient. There is a convenience store nearby, making it easy to buy daily necessities.
The room also had a good air purifier, which was a nice touch. However, there was no shower cap provided, and toiletries were limited to a toothbrush only. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with some minor amenities missing.

2nd time stay at this hotel and as always, it has clean & spacious room, just in the middle of Nanjing Lu Pedestrian Street so many shops, eatery & malls just outside the hotel. It has free washing machine & dryer to use. Easy to find many kinds of food around the hotel, mini supermarket just beside the hotel, friendly staffs and comfortable beds. Need to note that this hotel might has some few stairs to reach some rooms, so for elderly, make sure to inform them and request rooms to reach without stairs. Overall, a good and recommended hotel to stay in Shanghai.

The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow!
**Location:** Just a few minutes' walk from Shanghai Railway Station and the subway, not far from the main road. There's a FamilyMart and some restaurants downstairs.
**Facilities:** A proper hotel with an elevator, air conditioning, and self-service laundry. The shower had good hot water. The wooden furniture looked a bit dated but seemed durable and of good quality. It appears to have been renovated, and the renovation quality is decent. However, I have to complain about the Wi-Fi speed – it was excruciatingly slow!
**Soundproofing:** Average; I could hear conversations from the next room.
**Cleanliness:** Relatively clean.
**Environment:** Both inside and out, it was neat and orderly.
**Service:** They proactively offered a room upgrade (perhaps due to fewer guests during the off-season) and could store luggage for us.
**Breakfast:** Although breakfast was included, they actually provided a 15 RMB voucher per person to use at a neighboring restaurant. You pay for what you choose, and anything over 15 RMB needs to be paid out of pocket, which felt a bit like a rip-off. However, if you plan carefully, it's manageable. The breakfast quality was relatively average, but it was available from 6:30 AM, which is convenient for early travelers.

The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right next to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and People's Square metro station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. It's perfectly situated on Huanghe Road Food Street, bustling with local life and culinary delights. Stepping out, you're greeted by a variety of long-standing eateries and popular snack spots, while Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is just a few minutes' walk away.
The hotel environment is excellent. Having been recently renovated last year, the facilities are brand new, and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard, tidy and virtually odor-free. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive; not only did they check us in swiftly, but they also provided travel guides for the surrounding area. We even received a thoughtful small gift upon checking out. The toiletries in the room were of good quality, with a fresh and pleasant scent, and all amenities were complete. It's worth mentioning that the hotel features a self-service laundry room on the fourth floor and a practical sunroom for drying clothes on the sixth floor, which is very considerate for guests staying for multiple nights.
Using this location as a hub, exploring Shanghai's classic city center attractions couldn't be easier. A walk from the hotel to The Bund to admire the 'Exhibition of World Architecture' and the Lujiazui skyline, to Yu Garden to explore its classical gardens, or to the Shanghai Grand Theatre for a show, all are within a moderate distance, roughly within a three-kilometer radius. If you're interested in history and culture, you can also easily walk to places like the Shanghai Museum, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, and the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Every day after exploring, the most enjoyable part was being able to discover delicious food on Huanghe Road and its vicinity, such as the butterfly pastries from International Hotel, Jia Jia Tang Bao, and Xiao Yang Sheng Jian – each day was filled with anticipation. This stay was absolutely perfect and offered great value for money. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Shanghai.

My relatives from the US came to visit China, and they stayed at the Old Elephant Hotel. They found its location near Nanjing Road very convenient for getting around. They commented that the breakfast was plentiful and their room was quiet. Susu at the front desk was very welcoming and provided excellent service. My relatives said they would definitely stay here again in the future.

Hotel located at very strategic location, less than 5 minutes walk to Metro Station and around 8 minutes walk to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street.
Hotel receptionist Lily was efficient and friendly during our check in and provided us some small gift during check out, which makes our experience comfortable and nice. Hotel also helped us to collect our parcels making it very convenient to shop online.
Our room was spacious and relatively cheap compared to hotel at this location considering it is Shanghai and near many famous location. They also have free gym and self laundry services.
However there were a few points that could be improved. For hotel of 12 floors, only 1 lift that was functioning and the other lift was out of service throughout our stay, making sometimes waiting for lift over 5 minutes. The soundproofing of the hotel was also not very good. For the room we gotten, we can hear people walking past our room early in the morning and late at night (midnight) and people doing renovation or repair as early as 9am.
Overall it was a pleasant experience and highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel for three days and wanted to share my brief thoughts. When booking a hotel in Shanghai, I looked at many options and paid close attention to the negative reviews for each, and the Radisson Hotel was no exception. Many of the negative comments mentioned outdated facilities. However, after considering the brand, location, and price, I ultimately chose this hotel, though I was still a bit apprehensive. Upon arrival, I was pleased to find the hotel's location excellent, right at the intersection of Nanjing Road and People's Square, making it convenient to reach various popular attractions. The lobby has a typical luxury hotel style. Every detail in the room also conveyed that, despite its age, the quality is definitely on par with its competitors. The furniture is well-crafted with good materials, and the fixtures and sanitary ware are all from reputable brands. The overall condition is actually better than some newer hotels. Furthermore, the front desk staff upgraded us to a junior suite and provided an extra bed free of charge, adding a special touch to our short vacation.

The room was surprisingly small. The power outlets were inconveniently placed, especially when using a universal adapter, which made it very awkward. The window could open, but it faced a sealed wall.
Overall, it's a good hotel to stay at, and the pillows are very comfortable.
The hotel's location is super convenient, within walking distance of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The BBQ place downstairs is delicious, and the xiaolongbao next door are also good.

Stayed for 7 days in the Family room in Dec 2025. Overall it was a comfortable stay although the hard product was old.
Room was spacious with one king bed (good for 1 adult and 2 small sized kids) and a single rollaway bed (good for 1 adult). It came with a free mini bar (1 round) and we could get bottled water from housekeeping or from the hotel lobby. There was a stench in the toilet (suspected backflow of air from the sewer) which housekeeping attempted to solve by covering the drains using tissue paper.
Hotel location was good, situated along the shopping street and subway. It is also within walking distance from the bund.
Hotel service was relatively lacking. No attempt was made to assist me with my 4 big luggage at the lobby during arrival and departure.
Would recommend the hotel for less fussy travellers who value convenience over services.

Excellent
EEric ZHThe location and decor are great, retaining the charm of an old building and French design style. However, the room details aren't very user-friendly. For example, the bedside table's power outlet is located between two shelves, so you have to duck down to find it behind the upper shelf, which makes charging difficult if you want to use your phone in bed. Also, the shower door in the bathroom has no handle on the inside, making it inconvenient to open. Overall, it's full of design flair but not very practical.
The room came with various utensils but not even a single tea bag. There were surprisingly few trash cans. The hotel room was very cold, and the heating wasn't 24/7, so much so that my son and I both caught a cold on the first night. It got better after the hotel provided a heater on the second day. The shower water temperature wasn't consistent; it fluctuated between hot and cold, and the water flow and temperature were overly sensitive, really testing one's fine motor skills. Rooms facing the street suffered from noticeable car noise from the main road. There's also a bar or entertainment venue upstairs, as we could still hear noise after midnight. Light sleepers should definitely be cautious.
The staff were very enthusiastic but not very efficient. For instance, we bumped into staff who said our room could be cleaned when we went out, but it still hadn't been cleaned when we returned. The front desk only provided one set of toiletries during check-in. We had to wait a long time and prompt them before the heater was brought up. It seems there's room for improvement in their standardized service training. On the positive side, the lobby staff were very proactive in bringing up food deliveries and would remind us about the hot coffee when we left, which is commendable.
In conclusion, the hotel is certainly not bad; it's upper-mid-range for a hotel apartment. However, considering the price of 3500 a night and its ranking as 8th on Shanghai's luxury hotel list, it's definitely not worth it.

GGuest UserWe booked this homestay for our family for our child's birthday party. The experience was super good, the pictures and text matched. We will stay here again next time!
✨[First glance when entering the room] Very spacious, good lighting, good ventilation, north-south transparency
🙋[To the landlord, I want to say] The reply was very timely. He patiently accompanied me to find my lost items, but it turned out to be a mistake. Thank you🥹
💡[A little surprise from the B&B] The bed is very comfortable and very suitable for a family trip
📍[Regarding the convenience of the surrounding area, I would say] It is very convenient. Nanjing Road is just downstairs. It is convenient to go anywhere in this area where every inch of land is valuable.
🛏[I must mention the house facilities] The sofa is very big and the table is very spacious. The whole family is satisfied with the stay. It is a very comfortable experience

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for my mom's class reunion. Her classmates, all in their eighties, met up on Nanjing Road, enjoying a quiet spot amidst the bustling city. There are plenty of local eateries and restaurants nearby, so you can easily find food right outside. My mom was very satisfied with her solo trip this time.

HHuangyiWe stayed at a hotel apartment with my child during the summer break. We chose the nearby Plus Hotel, which has a great location. The soundproofing was excellent, so it was completely quiet. Our loft room was very spacious and had ample storage. Overall, it offered excellent value for money. We'd definitely prioritize staying here again if we visit the Bund in the future.

GGuest UserBeing located close to Nanjing East Road, it's incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Given its prime location, we didn't expect a huge room, but it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable – you could tell the cleaning was done with great care. The lady at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, patiently answering all our questions. Accommodation is such a vital part of any trip, and this charming little place truly made our stay even more delightful.
