Japan Weather in June

If you're planning a trip to Japan in June, this is the start of Japan’s rainy season (tsuyu) across much of the country.

While showers become more frequent, it rarely rains all day, every day. It's a mix of cloudy skies, light rain, occasional sunshine, and more humid days.

June is also one of the best months to see hydrangea blooms, lush green scenery, and fewer tourist crowds.

Japan Climate & Weather Overview

Visiting Japan in June feels very different from the cherry blossom season. During my trip, I experienced warm weather, occasional rain showers, and plenty of lush greenery.

While some days were cloudy, it rarely rains all day so you could enjoy sightseeing in cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.

With beautiful seasonal flowers in bloom, June turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant time to visit.
