Dubai Map 2026: Attractions, Food & Hotels by Area

Dubai Map

From the iconic skyscrapers of Downtown Dubai and traditional streets of Old Dubai, to the beaches of Jumeirah, waterfront lifestyle in Dubai Marina and luxury resorts on Palm Jumeirah, every part of Dubai offers a different experience.

For Singaporeans visiting Dubai, the city can feel huge compared with Singapore. The good news is that the Dubai Metro, taxis and ride hailing services make many popular areas relatively easy to reach.

However, some attractions are located far apart, so it is worth checking the Dubai map before building your itinerary.

Understanding Dubai Map

Dubai Map

Dubai is located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. The city stretches along a large area of coastline, with many popular tourist neighbourhoods spread from Old Dubai in the northeast towards Dubai Marina and the Palm Jumeirah in the southwest.

For first time visitors, it is helpful to think of Dubai as several main travel areas rather than one compact city centre.

Dubai has a wide range of transport options, including the Dubai Metro, buses, taxis, trams and marine transport. The Metro is especially useful for reaching many major attractions and areas along the city's main urban corridor.

The current Dubai Metro has two main lines, the Red Line and the Green Line. The Dubai Tram also serves parts of Dubai Marina and Al Sufouh connecting the Metro and Palm Monorail.

Dubai Metro

Dubai Metro Map

The Dubai Metro is one of the easiest ways to travel between several major areas in the city.

The Red Line is particularly useful for tourists because it serves areas and stations connected with Dubai International Airport, Downtown Dubai, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina and other popular parts of the city. The Green Line is especially useful for exploring parts of Old Dubai and Dubai Creek.

Singaporeans who are used to the MRT may find the Metro easy to navigate, although some attractions still require a taxi, bus or additional walk after leaving the station.

Dubai Airport Metro Connection

Dubai International Airport has direct Metro access from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 via the Red Line. This makes it convenient to travel from the airport towards several major parts of the city.

Metro operating hours can change during public holidays and special occasions, so always check the latest schedule before travelling.

Dubai Tram

Dubai Tram Map

The Dubai Tram serves areas around Dubai Marina and Al Sufouh. It connects with the Dubai Metro and provides access towards the Palm Monorail connection.

It is especially useful when exploring Dubai Marina, JBR and nearby waterfront areas.

Traditional Abra

Dubai Abra Map

For a more local experience, take an abra across Dubai Creek in Old Dubai.

This is a simple and scenic way to travel between parts of Deira and Bur Dubai while enjoying views of the historic waterfront.

Bus

Dubai's bus network covers areas beyond the Metro and rail system. Some routes also connect Metro stations with neighbourhoods and attractions that are further away.

Taxi and Ride Hailing

Taxis are widely available across Dubai and can be a convenient choice when you are travelling with luggage, children or a group.

Ride hailing services are also useful for destinations that are not directly next to a Metro station. This is particularly helpful for some beaches, hotels and attractions located away from the main rail network.

Rental Car

A rental car can be useful if you plan to visit attractions outside the main city areas or take day trips.

However, for first time visitors focusing mainly on Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah and Old Dubai, public transport and taxis are often easier than driving yourself.

Let's start with the positives: The room decor was lovely, and the view from the window was great. The bedding was super comfortable, and the location is excellent, just about a 10-minute walk to the Burj Khalifa. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Now for the negatives: The shower pressure was a bit weak, and the handheld showerhead didn't have different spray settings. Also, disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste were not provided.

Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown is my favorite hotel near Business Bay, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. I love the stylish design and beautiful Arabic-inspired details. The gym was incredibly well equipped, we received fresh bottled water every day and room service was always fast and easy to order by phone. If you want to walk to Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, fountain Show… it takes about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic lights, but easy.

The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a large bed and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to assist. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location is convenient, providing easy access to major attractions, shopping areas, and transportation. The facilities were well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and luxurious. The room was pretty decent for being in the city. We booked the half-board option, choosing breakfast and dinner. However, there was a discrepancy regarding dinner; the front desk and the restaurant staff told us different things. We were initially told both the second and third-floor restaurants were options. When we went to the second floor, they said no, and it took some back-and-forth communication to resolve it. Then, at the third-floor restaurant, they also said no, despite the front desk confirming it was fine. We went back to the third-floor restaurant, and again, they refused. Isn't this something that should be synchronized internally within the hotel?

Excellent location if you want to be close to the metro, Dubai Mall, and Museum of the Future, all within walking distance. There's a supermarket in the underground mall across the street (not under the hotel). Fantastic views from the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows with wide stone sills. The rooftop offers postcard-perfect views of the Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Road. The rooms have a large fridge with a freezer in the kitchen; ours wasn't working, and they immediately brought a new one. There's an Indian restaurant and a club on the upper floors of the hotel. The breakfast in the restaurant is decent, you won't go hungry, and the staff is helpful. Outdoor parking is available. They don't provide transportation to the beach. In the lobby, there's a work area with a printer you can connect to yourself. It's a great option for a 1-4 day stay.

My one-night stay at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City was an absolute delight, perfectly combining luxury, convenience, and world-class entertainment that made it feel like a mini-vacation in Dubai. The hotel's location in Al Habtoor City is fantastic—right on the Dubai Water Canal with stunning skyline views. The exterior is impressive, especially at sunset, and the modern lobby welcomes you with elegance and efficiency. The absolute standout was attending La Perle by Dragone—Dubai's must-see aquatic acrobatic show, conveniently located right in the Al Habtoor City complex (just a short walk from the hotel!). The custom-built theatre is incredible, and the performance blew me away with jaw-dropping dives, aerial stunts, motorcycles, and mesmerizing water effects. It's a perfect blend of artistry, athleticism, and theater—truly unforgettable!

Check in was smooth and was attended by Rash. She was courteous and helpful in getting the room. Was given a room on a higher floor facing partial Dubai frame. The soap etc is very poor quality and bed sheets not white, something not expected of such hotel. Bikash at concierge was rude and I feel need training on customer relations. Gave him the card and instead of handing back, he just placed on the table. Valet parking was also slow and disorganised. Imagine waiting 30 mins just for them to pick up the car. I don't see this in Sofitel Downtown or the JW Marriot. Location is ok but there are definitely other better hotels around the area. Other facilities such as steam room and pool area are quite old.

The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful. You'll need to use taxis for sightseeing. While you can walk to the Dubai Fountain and metro station in about 20 minutes, walking outside in the Dubai heat is tiring. A taxi to the station costs the minimum fare of 12 AED. The hotel's location is great, right in Dubai's new city center, with excellent amenities nearby and not far from the metro station. Upon arrival, they proactively helped with luggage, and check-in was smooth. All the hotel staff were very polite. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and a good variety of food. The rooms are spacious and bright. The only thing was that the balcony door was locked, which they said was for safety reasons. I later asked the front desk to unlock it for me, but I had to sign an agreement. Overall, I'm satisfied. The only regret is that this trip to the UAE coincided with the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, and neighboring countries were all somewhat affected. I hope peace returns to the Middle East soon.

Very clean and comftarble, easy to get by shuttle bus. Nice stuff. The only and the biggest problem that is half of hotel fault and half depend on your neighbors. Is very quite in the room but one you get new neighbors you hear all. Also there was another door that lead to another room but locked from another side. Our neighbors tried violently to open it in a middle if the night and cause a lot of noise. Why to put a door and not to use it between rooms and expect that some kids will not try to open it from curiosity?

I thoroughly enjoyed my 8-night stay at this lovely hotel. The housekeeping, front desk, concierge and restaurant staff are very professional and responsive, kudos to them. Room is very new and clean, big enough for a family of 4 to 5. Breakfast is simple and lack varieties, during my 8 nights they served the same food everyday, and mostly veggies options. Coffee is good though. My only comment is the lift waiting time. It needs an upgrade to cope with high occupancy rate. And the outside windows from the room, it needs to be cleaned. Its all covered with dust that I couldn't see clearly the outside view from my windows. Location is very convenient. Less than 2-min walking to the metro station. 1 stop to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Carrefour is about 10-min walk, and there is a very nice restaurant called Sansation DIFC, about 10-min walk from the hotel that serves very good Mediterranean food at a reasonable price.

How to Plan Your Dubai Itinerary Using the Map

The Dubai Fountain

Dubai is easier to explore when you group attractions by location instead of travelling from one end of the city to another.

Day 1: Downtown Dubai

Start your trip in Downtown Dubai.

Visit Burj Khalifa, explore Dubai Mall and spend time around Burj Lake. In the evening, enjoy dinner in the area and watch the Dubai Fountain.

Day 2: Old Dubai

Spend your second day exploring the historic side of Dubai.

Visit Dubai Creek, explore the traditional souks and take an abra across the water between Deira and Bur Dubai.

Day 3: Jumeirah and Dubai Marina

Head towards the coast and explore Jumeirah.

Visit Kite Beach or Souk Madinat Jumeirah before continuing towards Dubai Marina and JBR for an evening by the waterfront.

Day 4: Palm Jumeirah

Spend a day exploring Palm Jumeirah.

You can visit The View at The Palm, relax at the beach, enjoy the resort atmosphere or explore restaurants around the island.

Longer Trip: Theme Parks and Desert Experiences

If you have more time in Dubai, add family attractions such as Dubai's theme parks or plan a desert experience outside the main city areas.

💡 Travel Tip: Dubai looks compact on some tourist maps, but attractions can be far apart. For example, Old Dubai, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina should ideally be explored on separate days rather than squeezed into one itinerary.

Final Thoughts

The View Palm Jumeirah

Dubai is a city best explored area by area.

Downtown Dubai is perfect for first time visitors and famous landmarks, while Old Dubai offers a closer look at the city's heritage and traditional markets. Dubai Marina and JBR are ideal for waterfront stays, while Jumeirah and Palm Jumeirah are great for beaches and resort experiences.

For Singaporean travellers, the key to planning a smooth trip is to use the Dubai map wisely and avoid travelling back and forth across the city every day.

With a good Dubai map and a well planned itinerary, you can spend more time enjoying the attractions and less time sitting in traffic.

💥Tip: If you are arriving at Dubai International Airport and plan to use the Metro to reach your hotel, buying a Nol card at the airport metro station can save you the trouble of finding one later.
