Rooms are big, breakfast has many choices, near to duty free mall, BUT their receptions was the worst, I asked for another room key since I got down with the wrong room key, the young lady at reception then asked to see my passport, then talking and laughing with her friends then I scolded her n tell her it was kinda late also I had to carry heavy shopping bags and my children was waiting with me. Then she started serious working. Then the next morning I asked them to help me with my packages delivered to the front desk but they ask me to find by my own on different floor since they were busy. The front desk was empty with no guests at all. Too bad the hotel has nice facilities but their service and Receptions are not friendly and unhelpful.

The hotel is very close to Sun & Moon Duty Free Plaza, and there are many small eateries across the street. It's also a short walk to Qilou Old Street. Although the hotel is a bit old, there wasn't any musty smell or other unpleasant odors, which I had somewhat expected. Being able to book this hotel during the Chinese New Year for this price, I felt it offered excellent value for money! That's why I decided to stay here again when I returned to Haikou. Xiao Wu and Xiao Jie were very attentive during my extended stay.
Excellent service, definitely worth staying here. The location is superb and convenient for transport. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, the room is clean and tidy, and the breakfast is rich and varied with different options every day. I was very satisfied with my stay. Rosy at the front desk provided great, enthusiastic service. It's really good value for money.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate.
Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images.
During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster.
On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings.
What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip.
The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Booked this hotel for my parents. The location is great, right in the heart of the old town. It's about a 20-25 minute leisurely walk to Wenchang Old Street. The hotel itself is very new, I heard it's part of the Jinjiang group, and the facilities are quite high-end. The rooms are also spacious and comfortable. My parents said the breakfast was pretty good too. Definitely recommend staying here when visiting Wenchang!

The environment is clean and the location is easy to find, just a ten-minute drive from the airport. The decor is also new. It's my top choice for value for money, and perfect as a temporary stopover for a flight the next day. Students and those on a budget who still want quality accommodation can't go wrong with this place. It's also suitable for families with kids staying long-term, as there's a dedicated play area for children and a free laundry room. There are parking spaces right outside the entrance. Great experience, I'll definitely be back!

Wow! The service at Langham Haikou is truly heartwarming! From check-in to check-out, Lucy felt meticulously cared for and attended to. The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were top-notch. I particularly loved their signature scent and custom toiletries; they smelled amazing. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around and shopping. The overall experience was perfect, absolutely 100 points—definitely my top choice for a high-end hotel in Haikou!
My stay at Four Points by Sheraton Qiongzhong was fantastic! The room was clean and comfortable, the bedding was soft, and the service was warm and attentive. The front desk staff was efficient and even proactively upgraded my room. The breakfast was plentiful, the facilities were new, and the soundproofing was excellent. It's conveniently located and offers incredible value for money. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!

A great choice for a trip to Haikou! The direct sea view is absolutely stunning, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a super therapeutic view of the ocean. The hotel environment is elegant, and the rooms are spacious and bright. The housekeeping auntie did a thorough job with the cleaning. The indoor pool is comfortable, and the guest relations service is warm and thoughtful, creating a perfect vacation atmosphere. Eating, staying, and playing were all comfortable – a perfectly relaxing trip! I'll definitely come back again!

The hotel offers a wide variety of breakfast options and excellent fitness facilities. I was particularly impressed by the self-service laundry room – the machines are new, clean, and there are three washers and three large dryers that work really well. Both the hotel's amenities and services are top-notch. The only downside is the lack of a bellboy, so you have to carry your luggage up yourself. We stayed in room 1030, which had an obstruction outside, making it a bit dark. Also, the entire 10th floor is a smoking area, which is something to consider if you're traveling with children. Despite these minor issues, I'm still giving this hotel a full five-star rating!

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Gathering Villa, and aside from the many steps being a bit of a workout, everything else was great. The room was very clean, and there weren't as many mosquitoes as I'd imagined (though I did see a few, I think the repellent in the room worked because I didn't get bitten). I slept very comfortably at night and woke up to a rich chorus of bird songs in the morning.
The sunset and live band performance at the Thai restaurant were a delightful surprise!
The butler service was excellent; they arranged for someone to help with our luggage, which was a huge relief. Beyond that, the entire resort's service was top-notch; you could really feel their customer-centric approach. If you're coming to Bird's Nest Forest Park, I highly recommend staying at this hotel for a significantly enhanced overall experience.
GGuest UserThanks to Eric for his excellent service! Every afternoon, he brought us a fruit platter and small cakes, and even gave us a little gift when we checked out. The hotel is super close to Baihua Valley and the Yalong Bay night market. My child absolutely loved the room layout and said we should stay here again next time. We also really enjoyed the swimming pool. The only minor issue was the damp smell, which is typical for a humid southern city, but Eric, our butler, promptly sent up a dehumidifier and the bedding was changed regularly, so sleeping at night was fine. Overall, it's a great value-for-money hotel in Yalong Bay.
Facilities: I hope the hotel gets a renovation in the future for an even better experience.
TTangxinleizhenyuThe room overall is pretty good, and there are many more free activities to participate in. Two years ago, when I visited, I even caught the Earth Hour concert, which was very interesting. This time, the room type I stayed in was larger and had better facilities, and the price was still the same – great value for money. The downsides are that the air conditioning was really a bit warm, the maintenance of the beach and lawn wasn't great, and the restaurant food has become less appealing. Also, the hotel lobby now has a lot of stalls selling small merchandise, which feels quite cluttered. However, this might be unavoidable given its value-for-money approach, but I still hope they can make more improvements if possible.
YYuyanThis is our second time bringing the kids here... We love everything about it. Last time we came, our child was less than a year old, and we had such a great impression. This time, I thought since the kid is a bit older, we'd try out the Regent, which is supposedly the pinnacle of family resorts. After four days there, we still ended up back at the InterContinental... I guess it just goes to show, different strokes for different folks... We came to relax, so we don't need a packed schedule of activities. For kids, having sand, a pool, and a beach is already perfect. Compared to the Regent, the InterContinental's rooms are well-proportioned and bright, and the corridors aren't dark; they face outdoors, so the view, natural light, and ventilation are all excellent. Even after so many years, the decor still holds up beautifully due to its quality. The service is also very well-measured. Our butler, Bobby, checked in with routine greetings and updates both in the morning and evening, and was very responsive when we wanted to book a spa or had other needs. At the end of our stay, he even thoughtfully sent a little mermaid doll and a kids' travel set... All in all, it was perfect. Thumbs up to Bobby and the InterContinental! 👍🏻
GGuest UserIt's been a week since I returned from Sanya, and I finally have time to leave a review. For my 8-day, 7-night trip, I chose to stay at the Shangri-La for the last two nights. Before checking in, I was conflicted because of the mixed reviews online, but ultimately, I booked it because of the Shangri-La brand. Here are my thoughts after actually staying there, for reference only. My conclusion is that I probably wouldn't choose it again if I come back to Haitang Bay.
What I liked:
1. The hotel is very large, with a green and calming lawn.
2. The breakfast was plentiful, and the beef patty from the Hong Kong chef's station left a deep impression.
3. There were plenty of activities for children.
What I disliked:
1. Outdated facilities: I stayed in Building 3 (the main building), which was convenient for reaching the front desk and restaurants. However, as soon as I entered the elevator, the experience was unpleasant due to a strong musty smell.
2. Few child-friendly facilities: As a hotel ranked 5th in Haitang District for families on Ctrip, the room had almost nothing child-related. My child wasn't used to wearing flip-flops and kept tripping; my child couldn't reach the sink and there was no small stool; there was no child toilet seat. After trying two other family-friendly hotels, my child commented that this room was too small.
3. Although there were many activities, some felt like filler. For example, the miniature train had rather strict time limits.
4. Some staff lacked service awareness. When arriving and departing, the concierge staff were very slow to help with luggage and seemed reluctant.
5. No robots. Let alone a 5-star hotel, even ordinary chain hotels offer this now. For food delivery, I had to go to the takeaway locker on the first floor myself, which was very inconvenient when traveling alone with a child. On the last day, my child had gastroenteritis with vomiting and diarrhea. I bought medicine early in the morning but couldn't pick it up, so I asked the butler for help. The butler hadn't started work yet, so a colleague helped pick it up, but it was delivered to the wrong room. It was only when a parent from another room went out and called me that I finally located the medicine.
SShanghaimeishijiaService: Absolutely fantastic! I have to give a special shout-out to the front desk attendant who helped me. She was incredibly patient, kind, and friendly. It had been months since my last visit, but she still remembered me, which made me feel so welcome and warm. I'll definitely be back! Thumbs up!
Hygiene: Pretty good.
Environment: Convenient location and a nice atmosphere.
Facilities: Pretty good, and very well-equipped!
GGuest UserMy extensive research definitely paid off! I chose the perfect first hotel for my Sanya trip. I was a bit worried based on some online reviews, but after two days, it totally exceeded my expectations. The hotel's surroundings are beautiful, and the location is excellent; you can see the ocean right from the lobby. It has a huge pool and water play area that seamlessly blend into its private beach. While the decor is a bit dated and the facilities are older, the bones of the place are solid. The breakfast buffet was also decent and, for me personally, met my needs. Not far from the hotel are Baishuigu Valley and Yatai Commercial Street, with night markets, BBQ, and restaurants, making dining very convenient. After dinner, strolling back with the sea breeze was both good for digestion and very pleasant. Oh, and the hotel also offers free airport shuttle and duty-free shop buses, which is great. It might have been the off-season, but I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a room with an unbeatable sea view. For this price in Yalong Bay, it's excellent value for money. The front desk staff, especially CC, provided very thoughtful service. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in Yalong Bay.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were very professional. There was a minor issue, and they kindly upgraded our room. I recommend booking a room with a bathtub directly if possible; there's a disposable tub liner next to it, which is perfect for a relaxing hot bath after a tiring day of travel. The room was quite spacious and quiet at night.

CCeeCeeCcService: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff.
Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers.
Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂
The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu.
There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable.
The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available.
The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided.
They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos.
There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable!
While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.
