We stayed at Ibis Styles Hotel (Xiamen Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street) and found it to be a very solid choice for both comfort and location. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the action, with Zhongshan Road pedestrian street just steps away, making it extremely convenient for shopping, local food hunting, and evening strolls. You’re surrounded by eateries, convenience stores, and attractions, yet the hotel itself still feels calm and restful. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, offering great value for the price. We strongly recommend opting for a room with windows, as it makes a noticeable difference in comfort and brightness, especially if you’re staying for more than a night. The bed was comfortable, and the overall layout felt practical and modern. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, with no unnecessary fuss. For travelers looking for a reliable, well-located hotel that balances affordability with comfort, this ibis Styles outlet does the job very well. A dependable base for exploring Xiamen.

The room was incredibly spacious, bright, and clean with a stunning, expansive view of Gulangyu Island, which is a major attraction right across the way. The location is unbeatable for dining, transport, and scenic beauty. I stayed for a longer period, 6 days, and what truly touched me was how Manager Geng Hongyan specially arranged a cozy room for me. The roses were a delightful surprise, and they even sent delicious fruit. I really felt like I was at home – it was incredibly touching and I'm very grateful.

This hotel is great. The room was very clean, and the towels were soft and comfortable – really nice! The room was well-equipped with everything we needed, including tea and a coffee capsule machine. All the facilities were very convenient to use, making it truly reassuring to stay here with family. The hotel's WeChat service was also excellent; the young lady, Xiao Mi, was very friendly and responded to messages quickly, helping us resolve our inquiries promptly. The breakfast selection was abundant and varied. Overall, the hotel has a great design, and it's very close to the nearby subway entrance.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! Traveling during the off-season was so convenient. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the lobby's fragrance – a mix of lilies and carnations – instantly lifting my spirits. The free bottled water available at the front desk was such a thoughtful touch. My room was spotless and tidy, with all facilities and amenities, making for a truly comfortable stay. The location is absolutely fantastic; getting to the Gulangyu ferry terminal was a breeze, and a taxi from the entrance was always available in minutes. The Gulou Sky Garden was incredibly beautiful; every photo I took looked amazing. After posting them on social media, so many people asked for the address, and few believed it was the hotel I was staying at! The robot delivery service for takeout was super convenient, and the free self-service laundry room solved the typical travel laundry problem. The front desk staff were friendly, approachable, and incredibly patient.

As soon as we got off the car, the waiter helped us take our luggage and sent it to the room. The room was quite large, in good sanitary condition, with all kinds of facilities. The service attitude of the front desk staff was also very good. The breakfast was rich in variety, and there was an electric car to deliver it to the hotel gate. The hotel environment is very good, the geographical location is excellent, and it is very close to the ancient city of Zhangzhou. My mother and I are very satisfied with our stay and will choose to stay here again in the future.

Stepping into the room, my eyes were immediately drawn to the tranquil scene in the courtyard. The trees were sparsely but artfully arranged, their branches silhouetted against the pale gray sky, creating a serene outline. On one side, the white wall and wooden frame acted like a natural picture frame, capturing this quietly flowing tranquility as if in a painting. Every photo I took looked like a masterpiece! Inside the room, I particularly adored the elegant tea set. The pale green teapot felt smooth and warm like jade. The complimentary jasmine tea slowly unfurled in the water, its fragrance lingering in the air. Pouring a cup, the room was filled with warm aroma and leisure, while outside, shadows danced and a gentle breeze blew. All the worldly distractions seemed to be gently cut off at that moment. A special thank you to the front desk lady who checked us in yesterday afternoon. She proactively helped my elderly parents with their luggage and escorted us to our room – it was incredibly thoughtful! I'm very satisfied and look forward to visiting again! This place is more than just an accommodation; it's an immersive haven that brings peace of mind. I'm so grateful for the meticulous attention to detail in creating such an atmosphere, making my brief stay feel like a long, refreshing breath in my memories. And a big thank you again to the front desk ladies working yesterday and this morning, who proactively helped my elderly parents with their luggage. It was incredibly warm and kind! Very satisfied, and I hope to see you again.

Located in the heart of Xiamen, the Lujiang Hotel perfectly blends charm and scenery in a way other hotels simply can't match. The recently renovated hotel boasts excellent facilities, including smart toilets and Dyson hairdryers. My favorite part was definitely the room's balcony, which offers direct views of Gulangyu Island – perfect for watching the sunrise, sunset, and the city lights come alive. At this time of year, sitting on the balcony, sipping tea, and enjoying the view is simply unbeatable! The front desk, concierge, and customer service were all excellent. Breakfast was plentiful, featuring delicacies like shark fin and bird's nest, along with local dim sum specialties. There's a little room for improvement in the restaurant service, as the staff seemed a bit disengaged. Seriously, make sure you book a room with a balcony!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

EErererererererererererereryeOur little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent! The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were incredibly friendly; check-in and check-out were both handled efficiently and quickly. They patiently answered all our questions about local dining options, and their recommendations for restaurants were spot-on – the food was fantastic! The complimentary buffet breakfast offered a great variety of dishes, and the quality was excellent. It was incredibly satisfying to start each day with such a rich and delicious meal. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and offered excellent value for money. I would definitely choose Fengdalin Hotel again on my next visit to Putian, and I highly recommend it to anyone!

GGuest UserThe staff were extremely friendly and attentive, even before my arrival. They tried to contact me in advance, but as a foreign guest, I do not have a Chinese phone number. It would be more convenient if the hotel could ask for guests’ WeChat IDs through the Trip.com messenger instead. Upon arrival, the staff created a WeChat group and added me in, which turned out to be very helpful. Through the group, they assisted with all kinds of questions, such as recommended places to visit, how to rent an e-bike, and where to eat nearby. The responsiveness and service were excellent. The room was awesome — very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable, and the view was fantastic. I also really loved the projector screen in the room, which allowed me to watch WeTV shows and other content. It made relaxing in the room even more enjoyable. The hotel provides e-bike rentals, which is a great feature. However, I was personally under-geared for the weather. It rained the day before, and the entire day was cloudy with temperatures around 11°C. The sea breeze was very strong and cold, especially when riding the e-bike with the wind blowing directly at you. Proper winter gear is definitely needed in such conditions. If the hotel could provide glove and jacket rentals, that would be an amazing improvement. In the evening, the staff even brought a small gift to the room. The gift was thoughtful and practical, and I really liked it — it was a warm and welcoming gesture that made the stay feel extra special. Breakfast was okay. Guests are seated on Level 2, and the meal is served to the table. As I come from a place where some Chinese do not consume beef, it would be great if there were options such as chicken or beef. That said, the beef noodles were actually very good. The Western-style breakfast, however, was quite average.

GGuest UserThe room is great! It's very clean and safe. The hotel service is excellent; since cars can't enter the ancient city, there's a shuttle bus that picks you up right where the taxi drops you off, which is super convenient as you don't have to drag your luggage. There's also a shuttle when you check out to take you out of the ancient city. The hotel has an elevator and a beautiful small balcony. It's incredibly close to all the food and attractions of the ancient city – just step out, and a popular spot is a short walk away. Zhongshan Park is right outside, making it very relaxing. They even gave us Mochi, no need to queue, and there are also special tie-dye activities and puppet shows.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with delicious winter melon tea, and each morning started with a bowl of Mianxian paste. In the afternoon, there were exquisite snacks and drinks. We had a great experience during our two-night stay. The B&B is located in Hua Xiang (Flower Alley), which has several good restaurants.
