Hotels With Spa in Madeira, Portugal

Double room for single occupancy; the room is rather substandard and in no way meets the standards of a 4-star hotel. Upon arrival, there was a steadily growing puddle under the sink in the bathroom, extending behind the toilet. The damage must have been known for some time, as the corresponding limescale stains had not been removed. There were water stains all over the bathroom ceiling, a discolored shower curtain, and not a single electrical outlet (even for an electric toothbrush). The room itself is only habitable with the balcony closed, as jackhammers and excavators operate loudly from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the hotel opposite, making noise impossible to ignore even with the door closed. Therefore, balcony use is only possible after 6:00 PM. Moving to another room is not possible, as the hotel is fully booked. For my trip costing €622, I was offered a complimentary dinner (worth €21.50) in the hotel restaurant on the last evening as compensation.

The hotel is in a great location, next to the Atlantic Ocean and the marina. It is within walking distance from Funchal Square, the cable car station and some attractions. There is a Cristiano Ronaldo Museum next to it, the ticket is 5 euros, and you can visit it for free if you stay in the hotel. The hotel we booked is close to the machine room, and we can hear the roar of the machine at night. It is recommended to book a hotel room near the sea.

We booked a triple room 3 beds last min with late bird price. However they gave us double room 2 beds. It's on the 1st floor just next to tennis court which is quite noisy. It's 31 degree F, no air conditioner. Only 1 tiny window can be opened for fresh air but its facing a foot path with many guests access to the indoor pool, gym...etc. Not enough privacy. Location is ok as many small supermarkets, restaurants and bus stops near by within walking distance. Hotel facilities are good for the price.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baia Azul. This hotel has everything! Gorgeous views from the lounge area, a lovely bar with entertainment at night, excellent service, lovely comfortable rooms, and a very nice pool area. We cannot fault it! The breakfast was also lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

The Porto Santo Hotel & Spa is an excellent choice for those who seek rest and quiet. Although it is a modest hotel, it is extremely comfortable and comfortable. I emphasise especially the sympathy and availability of the staff, which makes the experience even more pleasant. And the beach bar? Just spectacular perfect to enjoy sunset with a drink in the hand. I recommend!

Hotel located inside the Plaza Madeira Shopping Mall. Difficult to find as the entrance is through the shopping mall (?) or through the private garage below the shopping mall. Little information and difficult to understand how to get to reception via the garage. Even Waze struggled to find the hotel. We went up 2 elevators and entered a door with a bell, a narrow corridor and then an open terrace. Then there is a heavy glass door to access the event lounge. The floor is entirely made of gravel (stone) and it is difficult for suitcases with wheels to roll. Despite the marathon (escape game) the hotel is boutique with a beautiful view and a 5-star breakfast. If they improved the arrival to welcome customers as is customary in 5-star hotels, it would be pure luxury. Pool heating on the Terrace would be a plus. Clean rooms and minibar ”on demand”. We even liked the robot that collects the plates and utensils from the cafe.

Great location. Right by the hotel, there's bus number 02 to the city center for only 2€. Good restaurants nearby, and a nice beach with a cool tunnel to walk through. The staff were very friendly and even spoke Polish. Highly recommend!

En dehors de la vue, qui est indiquée comme partielle sur l’océan, et en fait il faut se pencher au dessus du balcon au 11ème étage pour entrevoir un peu d’eau, sinon tout est bien. Un supermarché à côté, tout est très propre, et le personnel est gentil.

The facilities are not new, but in any case very acceptable. The weather did not help, so we were unable to fully enjoy the facilities available.

Second stay at this beautiful hotel! The room size was good, modern design & beautifully decorated. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was more than perfect. The location is fantastic!
