SShuoshuoshanyao 2026.04.19
As one of Suzhou's renowned hotels and an attraction in itself, the Pan Pacific Hotel has clearly put a lot of thought into its environment. It has created a beautiful Suzhou garden-style landscape based on the outlines of ancient Wu Kingdom architecture, making us feel like history isn't just a display, but that we're living inside a freshly painted ink wash painting. Wooden planks form bridges in the corridors, bamboo paintings adorn the walls, and when the wind blows, it's as if you can hear the clear ringing of ancient Wu eave bells – not noisy, yet full of sound. The in-house restaurant offers yellow croaker noodles, which are a bit pricey, but the fish is fresh and delicious, and worth trying with the small noodles and side dishes. The only downsides: when I called, there was a wait without an answer, and the staff training regarding the management of guests' personal belongings in the rooms needs improvement. I highly recommend visiting the hotel's architecture; it offers a concrete experience of Suzhou's ancient江南 (Jiangnan) charm.

For those seeking a quiet stay, here's some helpful information. The overall ambiance of the Guesthouse is elegant and tranquil, with beautifully maintained gardens that create a very pleasant atmosphere. As someone who prioritizes peace and relaxation during my stays, I'd recommend Building 8 based on my overall experience. However, the twin rooms in Building 8 directly face Qu Garden, and the announcement calls can be quite loud. I suggest the hotel address this. Currently, there's construction and renovation happening across the way, which causes significant noise disturbance, so choose with caution. For ultimate quietness, courtyard rooms or water view rooms are your best bet. Courtyard rooms are exceptionally peaceful and offer a very pleasant living experience. (Though, it largely depends on the behavior of your neighbors, as the soundproofing isn't great, leading to significant mutual disturbance). I personally didn't care for the room style in Building 18. This building is right next to the road, its design isn't as comfortable as Building 8, and the street noise is very loud. The interior decor quality is also mediocre. Inside the hotel, you can feed the swans, and there's also a sightseeing train and shuttle buggies for convenient transportation. Getting to Slender West Lake is very easy; you can take the scenic bus directly through a fast track. If you purchase tickets in advance on [platform name] or Dianping, you can enter directly from here, making travel hassle-free. Overall, the hotel's environment is commendable, but the food quality is rather ordinary and didn't meet my expectations.

Families, when you come to Suzhou, you absolutely *must* stay at the Houju Shangcheng branch! The room is incredibly spacious, so the kids have plenty of room to play without feeling cramped. The cleanliness is spot-on, and the bed is sturdy, which gives me so much peace of mind when traveling with little ones. The hotel also seamlessly incorporates local elements – Suzhou-style windows, white walls, and dark tiled roofs make you feel like you've stepped right into the 'Prosperous Suzhou' painting! Yet, the room itself boasts a chic French retro style; the blend of ancient and modern is just brilliant! And the transportation? Unbeatable! It's directly accessible via Metro Line 2, and Shangchengmen, Changmen, and Shantang Street are all nearby. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful; they recommended so many amazing local eateries that only residents would know about. The facilities and equipment are also brand new. We had such a comfortable stay!

Location: This hotel is a landmark in Xuzhou, right in the city center. It's incredibly convenient for visiting the Confucius Temple and Pengcheng No. 1, and also close to the 1818 Night Market. You can even see these attractions from the hotel rooms. Getting to the subway station across the street requires a bit of a walk around to the traffic light, so we mostly took taxis, though you can also walk to Hubu Mountain and Huilongwo, exploring all the way to the museum and Yunlong Mountain. Facilities: There's a swimming pool, but we didn't use it. Cleanliness: Tidy. Service: I was initially worried that the front desk being on the 42nd floor would be inconvenient, but there's a dedicated elevator to go up, so it didn't feel like an issue at all.

Rroseofnomansland 2026.04.05
The resort's overall environment and landscaping are absolutely beautiful, with a very comfortable Jiangnan-style (Southern China) aesthetic. We stayed in a private hot spring villa with a well-designed layout and excellent privacy. It's pet-friendly, and although they charged a 300 RMB fee, our dog had a great time. The private hot spring requires two hours to fill in advance, and the staff taught us how to heat it, which was a good experience. However, they didn't show us how to drain it, and when we asked the next day, we were told, 'We already taught you yesterday,' which was a bit… *cringes*. Drawbacks: I've stayed in similar types of accommodations at this price point, but the service here wasn't as professional by comparison; there's room for improvement. The facilities are a bit dated (TV, air conditioning, water dispenser), the curtains were inconvenient to use, and the bathrobes seemed old. The check-in process wasn't very clear, and the public hot spring was crowded and not very clean. Overall, the good outweighs the bad. The environment and private hot spring are big plusses, making it suitable for a relaxing getaway.

Stumbled upon this hotel, saw the price was good, so I booked it. Only found out upon check-in that this is the tallest building in Wuxi. The subway station is right downstairs, and Xiao Lou Alley is just across the street. Getting around is super convenient. The hotel's ground-floor entrance isn't very obvious; I walked around a bit before finding it and initially thought it was an office building lobby. I went in and asked, and that's when I learned the hotel's front desk is on the 43rd floor. Taking the express elevator made my ears pop a bit. The room was great, the view was nice, and it was clean. The complimentary soft drinks from the minibar for Trip.com members and the welcome fruit from the hotel were a thoughtful touch. I had read reviews mentioning poor soundproofing and was worried it might affect my sleep, but it turned out to be very quiet. Check-out was also very fast; I just handed in the room card and left. Overall, it was a very good experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

Centrally located in Xinjiekou, this hotel boasts an excellent location, making it convenient to get around and perfect for shopping! The service is incredibly attentive; Manager Fang from the VIP hotline provided professional and meticulous service with a warm and thoughtful demeanor. She was proactive and thorough throughout, always responding and following up on every detail. Before my stay, Ms. Fang noticed from my social media that I was traveling with a baby and thoughtfully left a message saying she would arrange for children's amenities. These small touches truly made me feel at home at Jinling Hotel, showcasing their high-quality service and leaving a lasting impression. The concierge was also very polite and helpful with luggage. Jinling Hotel will definitely be my top choice for future stays!

Hotel near Yangzhou New Area,Yangzhou 1% of visitors choose this area
AAnonymous User 2026.04.04
I stayed in Yangzhou for two nights, and my impression of the hotel and the city is quite similar: a mix of good and bad. First, there was no welcome reception. The male front desk staff, even when there was no one checking in, didn't look up or greet me. It felt like he was waiting for me to approach him eagerly, without even a simple ”hello.” He didn't offer any information about the hotel facilities or guest benefits. I had to ask where the elevators were after checking in, and even then, his directions weren't clear. I even had to call the next morning to ask where breakfast was served, and the executive lounge was never even mentioned. Furthermore, I had pre-booked dinner at Xiang Palace for 7:30 PM. I arrived at 7:25 PM, and a female receptionist sharply scolded me, saying, ”We called you three times, but you didn't answer.” I asked when they called, as I hadn't received any calls. She confidently replied, ”Seven o'clock. Because there was a table available then and you weren't here, it's gone now.” (So, my time is at her discretion?) She then told me to wait aside. Realizing what was happening, I immediately said, ”I'm not eating here.” When I provided feedback to the restaurant manager the next day, they gave me a dismissive ”heh-heh” smile and a cold shoulder throughout. After returning to my room, I called the service center to express my strong dissatisfaction with the issues mentioned above. The person on the phone first apologized politely and enthusiastically, offering to compensate with dinner at Xiang Palace and re-explaining the hotel facilities. During this, they mentioned that complimentary travel photography was a guest benefit. This was my third point of frustration, because my Trip.com package didn't include travel photography, and since I was staying alone, I wouldn't be using the complimentary breakfast for two. So, before checking in, I tried to contact the hotel to ask if I could exchange it for other benefits, like lunch/dinner or travel photography. The hotel firmly refused at the time, stating that travel photography was a third-party service, not provided by the hotel. I had no issue with that, which is why I hadn't planned for travel photography or brought any makeup or clothes. And now you're telling me it's an inherent guest benefit? Later, the hotel offered a room rate reduction, but it required me to cancel my Trip.com order and re-book, which I flat-out refused due to my annoyance. After this, the hotel surprisingly started giving me the cold shoulder, even to the point of not answering calls or replying to WeChat when I needed a paper bag before checking out. (This is why I decided to give less than three stars.) However, when checking out, the hotel offered to drive me to the station as I couldn't get a ride to catch my high-speed train. Well, you can make your own judgment. Personally, I can't give a good review because I wasted half a day of my less-than-three-day trip. So, I'll give it a three-star rating, a mix of good and bad. (Deduction points: significant deduction for the front desk impression, and the female receptionist at Xiang Palace was an additional negative factor.)

When I came to Nanjing this time, I really wanted to explore Laomendong, so I chose this hotel based on online guides. **Amenities:** Our room was upgraded. The overall decor had a natural wood tone with a touch of Republic of China-era style. The room was very clean, and everything was perfectly in order. We also received complimentary welcome fruits and snacks, and the fridge had my child's favorite small drinks – very nice! **Service:** We were two adults and one child. The front desk staff asked about my child's height, and since she was exactly 1.2 meters, the kind lady thoughtfully arranged for a complimentary breakfast for her as well. Speaking of breakfast, it was incredibly refined and well-prepared, clearly the work of a professional chef. Every item was delicious, and the room service delivery was impeccably sealed with cling film, looking very hygienic. The taste was also excellent – so yummy!. **Service:** The hotel offers free, unlimited parking at the Laomendong P3 parking lot. The elevator from the parking lot leads directly to the hotel, which is super convenient. **Environment:** The hotel also features a small garden called 'Jieziyuan' (Mustard Seed Garden). I heard it was once the residence of the great scholar Li Yu. Guests staying at the hotel can visit it for free. It's very antique and charming, with many young women taking traditional-style photos there. The scenery is superb! **Hygiene:** Very clean. This will definitely be my top choice for hotels whenever I visit Laomendong again. It offers great value for money, excellent service, and a beautiful aesthetic.

CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high! The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help! The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning! The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

JJiayongThe B&B has a nice courtyard and good service. However, no matter how good the view is, the main purpose is to sleep, and the room had a piercing high-frequency electrical noise that kept me up all night. The owner reportedly sleeps on the second floor himself, so why haven't they fixed this hardware issue? Also, the so-called private courtyard pool is just a small puddle in their guesthouse, not a private pool for your room. I'm truly baffled by this misleading claim. I heard the owner is even a chairman of an association; if a chairman is like this, what about the other member establishments? The chairman said if you mention his name, the restaurants on the street would give you some 'snacks' – but these so-called snacks are just a small flatbread that all restaurants serve, whether you mention his name or not. The restaurant where I mentioned his name even overcharged me by dozens of yuan on the bill. In short, if you're just going for a photoshoot, it might be okay, but if you're truly looking for a relaxing vacation stay, I'd recommend sticking to professional hotels.

NNekojanaiI'd been looking forward to visiting the first Kimpton hotel in mainland China, and my trip to Suzhou finally gave me the chance to experience the Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel. This hotel used to be the old-school Bamboo Grove Hotel in Suzhou, and the redesign has really struck a perfect balance between modern style and Suzhou charm. The public areas are incredibly picturesque – every corner is Instagram-worthy. From the warm, ochre-colored textured walls in the lobby to the outdoor water gardens, there are so many spots that are perfect for photos. Especially those century-old camphor trees that have been preserved, reflecting beautifully in the water – it truly gives off a 'hidden oasis in the city' vibe. I absolutely have to give a shout-out to our butler, Vickey. She added me on WeChat even before I arrived and provided detailed information about the location, parking instructions, and local recommendations. This kind of one-on-one communication really put me at ease before check-in. The morning wake-up call and social hour were quite ritualistic, and in the evening, enjoying a special cocktail at Bamboo Grove 168 while gazing at the江南 (Jiangnan) waterscape outside the window was incredibly relaxing. The breakfast was also fantastic; not only did it feature Suzhou specialties like red soup noodles, but you could even have 'coconut freedom' – they really don't skimp on the ingredients. Next time I'm in Suzhou, I'll definitely choose to stay here again!

LListeningtoI've stayed in many high-end hotels, but Pinjiang Road Residence isn't something you can describe in just a few words—it's truly exceptional! First, the location is absolutely fantastic, right next to the famous Pingjiang Road. Every day, you can step directly into a historic cultural district. Second, the hotel itself is a renovation of a centuries-old building, exuding an ancient charm. The exterior retains the classic Suzhou architectural style, while the rooms are equipped with all modern appliances, even more up-to-date than many five-star hotels. Third, the hotel staff are incredibly professional. Traveling with three children can be quite a hassle, but the staff's thoughtful and attentive service greatly eased our burden. Everything was arranged perfectly, saving us a lot of time and effort. Although it was very crowded during the Chinese New Year, our impression of Suzhou was excellent. Special shout-out to Xiao Wang at the front desk for being so professional, gentle, and considerate. I'll attach a few candid photos; it's truly beautiful, a hidden gem in the city. I felt like Tao Yuanming for a few days, escaping the hustle and bustle.

RRemilyWe were happy with our stay here. The room was nicer than it looked online, and the hotel was really clean. There are playrooms for young children that are free (3 rooms with some different toys in each room). The rooms are a bit old and tired, but my 2 year old enjoyed playing there and requested UK hi back lots of times. For parents it is just great to have somewhere for your kid to play and have fun, especially as the weather was very cold when we went! Outside there is a play area and sand digging pit. Location is walking distance from Tongli old town. Restaurant does evening buffet, and buffet breakfast. The food is fine, more Chinese than western, my husband really liked it and my favourite part was the Beijing roast duck at dinner. The pool is warm, with floats and rubber rings to borrow. There is a little land train, it takes a 10 minute trip around the hotel grounds and the cost is 20RMB for one adult and child. For me it was very boring but my son loved it 😂 The staff are very warm and friendly, everyone is very professional. Each guest is connected to a butler on wechat before they arrive so you can easily send a message and get some help. Our butler is Yu Ting and she helped us very professionally. For me, the things the hotel can improve are (1) the animal petting zoo - by western standard the facilities for the animals are not very good, just concrete enclosure with hut. For foreigners, we do not really like this. (2) We had a problem with the other guests smoking in the hotel, eg in the coffee bar. When I complained to the staff they tried to stop the guests, but even though they repeatedly reminded them to stop, the other guests continued. In the end they arranged for me to move to a private room near the bar where I could avoid the smoking. I was very grateful that they found a solution for me and my baby, but I am speechless there are such guests who flagrantly break the rules and the hotel cannot stop them. We smelled smoke in some different public areas, so maybe this is a problem with several guests 🙁 Overall we are happy with our stay and it is a good place to spend a few days with kids.
