I love this place so much that a part of me wants to gatekeep this hidden gem. Fanzhu梵住 is a beautifully curated boutique hotel that delivers outstanding hospitality. I initially booked a 5-day stay but loved it so much that I extended for an extra day, willingly sacrificing my next destination. I was initially worried the hotel might be a ”pretty façade.” Fortunately, Fanzhu met all my needs of functionality and comfort (Breakfast, Air Conditioning, an excellent shower, free self-service laundry, an ideal location). The property is far from perfection, but it overcompensates with simple, heartfelt sincerity. You can feel the tremendous thought and effort poured into this place to make guests feel comfortable. ✨ Highlights, Who Will Love This Place: ✅#English-Speaking Travellers: For foreigners unfamiliar with China, it is extremely helpful that the owner is fluent in English. ✅#Design & Aesthetics: Warm & modern. The property exudes zen-like comfort with charming decors. It has a gorgeous yard, with swimming pool, and ample outdoor seatings. ✅#Remote workers: I didn’t plan to work on this trip, but I could see myself working there remotely. If you come from the city where every building looks like a boxy Lego piece, you will deeply appreciate this place. ✅#Personalized Service: Kudos to the young lady boss! In a place like Wanfenglin where the location pins and 导航 can be vague to foreigners, sh took the time to understand my itinerary, how I planned my routes around Wanfenglin. She gave recommendations, and helped me check my “Destination” input on car hiring app. Airport and railway station pickups can also be arranged easily too. ✅#Immaculate Rooms: THE BED! Oh my, the bed! The linens, pillows, and towels are all premium quality. Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash feel luxurious. The bed is so comfortable that I would return just for a sleep-in holiday. Ok I know I’m mentioning the bed twice but it’s worth mentioning thrice. Extra points from me that the rooms are non-smoking. ✅#Location: Before arriving, I read a review describing this place as ”a piece of tranquillity close to the action”. Now I get it. It sits as an independent building on a peaceful road/hill(?), yet it is a short, easy walk to the Bagua fields and Zhong Nahui, where you can find idyllic cafes, little shops, and children playing in the fields. ✅#Breakfast: Delicious local-flavoured noodles!They also offer more conservative standards like toasts, eggs, and coffee. Oh, the hotel has an ice machine! Ooooohh so sexy in the hot weather (apparently ice cubes are rare in Wanfenglin). ✅#The Resident Pets: As a pet lover who willingly pays to visit cat cafes, having resident dog and cats sealed the deal for me. ✅#BONUS TIP: The Rooftop Night Sky. Unassuming and rugged at first glance, I was initially unimpressed. But I heard good reviews from others, so I gave it another go, and am thankful I did! Stay awhile, allow your eyes some time to adjust in the darkness, and you would see the sky completely transforms. On my last night, I saw a shooting star! I kid you not. It was an absolutely unbelievable, unforgettable moment. Incredibly awesome! ⚠️ Considerations Before You Book (Who should avoid): - If you love standard chain hotels. Fanzhu is intimate enough to offer personalized service. But I can imagine some of my more pampered friends who prefer international breakfast buffet spread would struggle to settle for this simplicity. Some things are just not realistic expectations off a boutique. - Mobility needs: There is no elevator. They would graciously carry your suitcases. However, elderly may want to enquire about ground-floor room. - In the midst of nature: If you have zero tolerance for insects, you may want to skip staying in Wanfenglin. It is a humid, lush environment surrounded by fields and trees. Personally, with a body spray of insect repellent, I wasn't bothered at all. - Pet allergies: If you hate pets (but why would you? :( w

Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Whatever the situation, Li and her family will do everything they can to improve your stay. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

We took our one-year-old on a two-day short trip. It was a two-hour drive from Guiyang, and the roads were pretty good. As soon as we arrived at the guesthouse, we could feel the immense enthusiasm from every single staff member; the service was truly excellent! The East Restaurant has baby high chairs, and upon check-in, we received fruit and snacks. Although it was a shame that it rained constantly during our two-day stay, you could still tell the environment here is beautiful. You can feed the sika deer, and there's also a swimming pool. The indoors were also quite clean and hygienic. We definitely want to come back in the summer; it'll be perfect for photos and very relaxing!

Wonderful stay! The room was very clean and well-equipped. Great location with convenient transportation. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite. Good value for money—I would definitely consider staying here again. The environment is quiet and comfortable, and the cleanliness is top-notch. Very close to the bus station and high-speed rail station, making travel hassle-free.

I can’t say enough how good this place was. This city is not easy to get to or get out of. and sometimes you need help from innkeeper staff but true Guizhou hospitality shines here. These people. go out of your way and you almost feel like your family to them. In fact, these people treat me better than my family. The breakfast is so good. It is not a giant buffet or anything, but a made to order masterpiece. The mien tiao noodles are awesome and will get your day off to a good start and wanting a 2nd portion. Qián Tái hé zǎo cān ā yí fú wù fēi cháng bàng, tuī jiàn.

The room was clean and tidy, with the ambiance of a five-star hotel. The facilities were new, and the service was attentive. Breakfast was very rich and varied. On the fifth floor, there's a 'Pet Paradise' where you can interact with small animals, which is very family-friendly for those with kids. Right next to the hotel are a large shopping mall and a food street, making dining, shopping, and entertainment incredibly convenient. It's about a 20-minute walk to Jiaxiu Tower, and a taxi ride is also very cheap.

The hotel's location is excellent, right inside the East Gate. If you get tired from sightseeing, you can simply take the internal scenic area bus back to the hotel. We encountered heavy rain at noon, so we returned to the hotel, took a nap, and then continued our tour. Exploring from the East Gate to the West Gate was no problem and not too tiring, thankfully we listened to the hotel's front desk advice. That way, we didn't waste the park's prime location by queuing at the West Gate. The hotel facilities are quite new, and the restaurant is good too. There's also free laundry and drying. The hotel's vehicles are very convenient. I highly recommend this place for families with children who want to avoid getting too tired.

I've managed to snag my next trendy guesthouse ahead of schedule! I had a real connection with this hotel. I'd already booked my stay in Wanfenglin for the Spring Festival, but while browsing Ctrip, I stumbled upon this newly opened hotel. I checked in on the fourth day of the ***** New Year, apparently on its third day of operation. The experience was simply amazing. First, the room view: I stayed in a second-floor room with a bright, airy feel. The layout was compact, but it was perfect for two adults and one child. The most captivating feature was the view from the hot tub. The dining terrace was stunning and incredibly photogenic! Second, the amenities: honestly, I've never seen a guesthouse provide so many things, from disposable slippers, underwear, and towels to whole tubes of toothpaste, snacks, strawberries, and even a bottle of red wine! The hairdryer was a Dyson, and the toiletries were Bulgari—quality and thoughtfulness everywhere. Breakfast was à la carte, and the food was quite good. Finally, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the beautiful owner was very friendly. In short, considering the general price increases during the Spring Festival, this guesthouse was absolutely fantastic value for money! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Wanfenglin, and I hope the price doesn't go up!

During the 2026 Spring Festival, I traveled from Jinan, Shandong to Xingyi with my family and pet. Originally, I just wanted a clean and comfortable place to stay, but I unexpectedly found a whole warm and welcoming experience at Gu Shang Ju. Having stayed in countless hotels and guesthouses, only here did I truly feel what it means to have warmth, kindness, and thoughtfulness. I was reluctant to leave and must give this a positive review—this is my personal experience, and I, Li Hua, am not exaggerating. Upon arriving in Xingyi, the owner's warmth instantly touched me. Knowing that my in-laws were elderly and had difficulty traveling, she immediately drove to the high-speed rail station to pick them up and drop them off, providing meticulous and thoughtful service throughout. She treated them with the patience and care of her own elders, making the elderly couple feel instantly at ease upon arrival. After checking in, we discovered the kitchen lacked proper utensils, making cooking inconvenient. She repeatedly and warmly invited us to her home for meals, where a table was laden with steaming hot Guizhou-style home-cooked dishes, each bite a taste of home. The owner isn't a relative, but she's more than a family member. This sincerity and kindness were especially precious in an unfamiliar city, and they warmed our hearts. The owner was incredibly cheerful and generous, always enthusiastically recommending great attractions in Xingyi to help us avoid any pitfalls. She also absolutely adores animals! I brought my pet along without any worries or inconvenience; she was gentle and loving, exceptionally caring and tolerant of the little guy. We were truly lucky to have such a kind and compassionate pet owner. Being guests here was the greatest blessing of our trip. Gu Shang Ju not only boasts impeccable hospitality, but its facilities and attention to detail are also exceptional, completely exceeding our expectations. The entire house is equipped with smart technology. Just a simple call of ”Xiao Ai” (a smart speaker) upon entering allows you to easily manage everything in the house. No lifting a finger, no hassle—lazy people, the elderly, and children can all enjoy a very comfortable stay. The room design is warm and stylish, the decor exquisite and sophisticated, and the bedding is so soft and comfortable that you won't want to get up, sleeping soundly through the night. The attention to detail is evident throughout: the shower water is softened, with a gentle flow that leaves you feeling relaxed and comfortable after a bath; the in-room drinking fountain is a major highlight, providing sweet, warm drinking water with just the touch of a button—clean, hygienic, convenient, and quick, ensuring safe drinking water for the elderly and children at all times. The room itself is very new, yet completely odorless, clean, tidy, and well-ventilated, demonstrating meticulous daily cleaning and maintenance. Most thoughtfully, it also features an elevator, making it easy for the elderly or those with a lot of luggage to move around—perfect for family trips. The location is also superb, facilitating both travel and daily life! It's a ten-minute walk to the Malinghe Scenic Area, a 20-minute drive to the Wanfenglin 5A Scenic Area, and half an hour to the Fenglin Buyi Scenic Area. Whether you're visiting attractions or enjoying the scenery, everything is within easy reach, saving you time and effort. The surrounding amenities are surprisingly comprehensive: downstairs there's a farmers' market, pharmacy, supermarket, and countless restaurants and snack shops offering authentic flavors and a wide variety of choices. There are also two billiard halls, providing everything you need for leisure and entertainment. Staying here eliminates all the inconvenience of getting around or daily life, making for a truly immersive travel experience. The value for money is so high that I can't help but feel sorry for the owner: the prices are affordable, yet every detail—the decor, service, and everything else—is impeccable. She treats every guest with care, warmth, and sincerity. I often wonder, can such a genuine and dedicated woman really make money? In 2026, my New Year's journey began at Gu Shang Ju. Here, there was a comfortable living environment, meticulous care, and a rare sense of human warmth. Whenever I have a short business trip to Guiyang, I always stay at this Holiday Inn for my layover. The shuttle bus schedule is well-arranged, making it very convenient to get to the airport and eliminating the anxiety of rushing for my flight. The room layout is simple and practical, with a spacious desk and stable internet. It's quiet at night, allowing me to focus on work without disturbance. Front desk staff, Iven, provided efficient service, and the check-in and check-out processes were smooth. The breakfast selection is comprehensive, and the Guizhou-style sour soup noodles are authentic. It's perfect for a quick meal before heading to the airport, making it a hassle-free choice for business travelers.
