TTravel Around (I hope) 2026.01.25
We arrived at the hotel before 1300 and the room was not ready. The lady at the counter then offered us a free upgrade and free access to the executive lounge for happy hours. Amazing. The room is a standard hotel room with a king sized bed. The TV only has 10 local channels and none of them is English channel. The bathroom is a big plus and it comes with all basic items (comb, brush, shaver, etc). It has a shower area and a bathtub area. Quite spacious for this kind of standard hotel room. We were at 19/F and the view was also great! Highly recommended!

Hotel near Near The New Baiyun International Airport,Guangzhou 28.7% of visitors choose this area

My stay at the Welcom International Hotel (Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport Branch) was overall a good experience, perfect for a short rest when catching an early morning flight. The hotel is very close to the airport, only a 5-10 minute drive, and offers a 24-hour free shuttle service. I pre-booked a 6 AM shuttle to the airport, and the driver arrived punctually, ensuring a smooth journey and I didn't miss my 8 AM flight at all. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the air conditioning and hot water supply were stable. Although I only stayed for a few hours, the quality of rest was guaranteed. In terms of service, the front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the shuttle arrangements were efficient. Overall, it offers great value for money. If you're just looking for a short layover or catching an early flight, this hotel is a solid choice.

Staying at the Wyndham Zhaoqing Seven Star Lake was an amazing experience! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the view from the window was breathtaking. The service from Felix and Amy was attentive and thoughtful, and the facilities were comprehensive. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to visit the Seven Star Crags scenic area. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Zhaoqing. Highly recommend!

The hotel is conveniently located right next to a shopping mall, with direct access. It's incredibly handy. You can park in the underground garage or in the outdoor lot. In the summer, they were very thoughtful to let us know that the parking on the second floor had more space than the basement, and they even pointed out the EV charging stations (though with so many cars, you might still have to wait). Overall, it's pretty good.

Honestly, at this price, it's really not worth it. The environment and hygiene were pretty clean, but the facilities were very basic. For a parent-child room that cost over 900 RMB (and still more than 700 RMB after deducting points), there wasn't even a smart toilet. What's even more frustrating is that despite it being a parent-child room, it only included two breakfasts. And for toiletries, the front desk only provided an extra set, including slippers, after seeing that there were three of us. So, I really don't understand how the pricing and service for this parent-child room are determined.

Hotel near Zhumiao District,Foshan 34.8% of visitors choose this area
GGuest User 2026.02.22
The hotel is located near Zumiao Temple, but after this stay, I've checked out the surrounding areas and would recommend the Cordis for a better location, or the Crowne Plaza, which is also a five-star hotel. All rooms at the Swissotel are above the 36th floor, but the main lobby elevators don't go to the 36th floor. This means that guests need to take an elevator to the 36th floor and then transfer to another elevator to reach their rooms. Furthermore, the elevator noise was so loud that it was impossible to sleep at night. Especially in our executive twin room (3915), even our child found the elevator too noisy. At 11 PM that night, the hotel MOD moved us to a business floor on the 41st floor, where the elevator noise was relatively less. However, at 7 AM, I could hear two women next door talking about going to Macau, and a mother and son's conversation from another room... After staying for two nights and checking out, the hotel didn't contact us about the room rate difference. I had to contact Trip.com customer service to explain the situation, and they helped us get the extra bed for the child and one breakfast waived. On our first day, we had dinner at the executive lounge, expecting some local specialties, given that this is Foshan. However, there were none, and the food wasn't good. So, when the MOD told me that even if we moved to a non-executive floor, we could still have the buffet dinner the next day, I said it wasn't necessary.

After exiting Macau through the Gongbei Port, I spotted the hotel building directly to my front left; it was just a 5-minute walk. The lobby is on the 5th floor, and the front desk staff warmly welcomed us and even allowed us to check in early. The hotel's location is excellent, with a plethora of restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping malls nearby. From our room, we had a view overlooking the Gongbei Port, and the Zhuhai High-Speed Rail Station was right next door, to the front right of the hotel (as seen from the room). A 5-minute walk from the hotel's front left entrance takes you to the Gongbei Tongda Bus Station. If you're not in a hurry to get to Shunde, you can take a coach, which takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach Shunde Daliang RT-Mart Bus Station or other stops. It's half the price of the high-speed rail and very convenient. The room was clean and hygienic, with towels and bathrobes individually packaged in plastic bags. They also provided complimentary snacks, disposable facial towels, hair ties, and other amenities. The mattress was incredibly comfortable; for someone like me who usually wakes up in the middle of the night at home, I slept soundly for all three nights in Zhuhai, from the moment my head hit the pillow until morning. Every day after returning from sightseeing, the housekeeping staff had already made the room spotless. The hotel also boasts a gym and laundry room, so the facilities are complete. It was a very satisfying stay.

This was my first time visiting Meizhou, and after comparing many hotels, I ultimately chose the Hampton by Hilton Meizhou Meijiang Caisheng Center. The hotel just opened last year, so the facilities are new and the environment is upscale and grand. The location is superb, right next to Wanda Plaza, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping. The front desk and staff were warm, thoughtful, and provided excellent service. The breakfast spread was extensive, with fresh and delicious dishes that left me very satisfied. The experience was fantastic, five stars! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Meizhou.

GGuest UserFive-star review! CityNote's facilities and environment far exceeded expectations. My stay at CityNote was truly impressive, particularly due to its well-designed facilities and tranquil, comfortable ambiance. The hotel lobby features a blend of modern minimalism and urban aesthetics, with warm lighting and exquisite greenery. The public areas are clearly delineated, offering a business work zone and a relaxed lounge area, both open 24/7 and impeccably maintained. The guest rooms are spacious and bright, boasting panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows with city views. They are equipped with zero-pressure memory foam mattresses and high-thread-count bedding. The smart voice control system effortlessly manages curtains, lighting, and air conditioning. The bathroom achieves complete wet-dry separation, featuring a thermostatic instant-heat shower and a full set of branded toiletries, with not a single water stain on the mirror. The amenities are comprehensive: the 24-hour gym offers brand-new equipment and city views, and the self-service laundry room includes a drying function. High-speed WiFi is available throughout with stable signal, and both public areas and guest rooms boast excellent soundproofing, providing a quiet retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. The overall decor has no pungent odors, and cleaning is frequent. Green plants adorn the corridors and elevator lobbies, creating a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere for travelers. It's truly a perfect choice for both business trips and leisure travel. Five-star recommendation!

GGuest UserThe Meihao Lizhi Hotel (Guangzhou East Railway Station Tianhe Sports Center Branch) is an excellent choice for both business and leisure travelers, located at No. 167 Linhe West Road in the heart of Tianhe CBD. The facilities are top-notch and comprehensive, featuring the Lizhi Restaurant offering Chinese and Western buffets, a well-equipped 24-hour complimentary gym, and I had a great night's sleep. There's also a self-service laundry room, a business center, and an underground parking lot. Guest rooms are equipped with smart controls and free, full-coverage WiFi, ensuring attentive and thoughtful service. The transportation is superb, boasting a prime location. It's about a 2-minute walk to Guangzhou East Railway Station subway station and just 300 meters to Guangzhou East Railway Station, providing seamless connections between high-speed rail and subway. This allows for quick access to Baiyun Airport and all parts of the city. The surrounding area offers a wealth of tourist attractions. It's close to Tianhe Sports Center, Grandview Mall, and Tianhe City. Getting to Canton Tower, Baiyun Mountain, and Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is also very convenient, making it easy to explore Guangzhou's bustling commercial districts and iconic sights.

MMAOBEA stay to remember: The Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen. Review of Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen Reviewed yesterday There are hotels you visit, and then there are hotels that leave an imprint on your soul. The Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen, belongs firmly and unequivocally in the latter category. From the moment I stepped into its soaring lobby, I knew this would be one of those stays that redefines what luxury hospitality means. Arrival and Reception First impressions matter, and the reception team at the Mandarin Oriental understands this with an almost intuitive grace. Jason Zhu greeted me with the kind of warmth that felt less like a rehearsed welcome and more like being received by an old friend who just happens to have impeccable professional instincts. His attention to detail was extraordinary — he had noted my preferences before I could voice them, and the check-in process was so seamless it barely registered as a process at all. Sicily and Marsh were equally outstanding, always present at just the right moments with a smile, a helpful suggestion, or a thoughtful gesture. Together, the three of them set a tone of effortless elegance that carried through every hour of my stay. In a city as fast-paced and forward-looking as Shenzhen, there is something deeply reassuring about a reception team that makes you feel as though time has slowed down just for you. The Club Skyline View Room If the lobby whispered luxury, the Club Skyline View Room declared it in full voice. Perched high above the glittering sprawl of Shenzhen, the room offered a panorama that genuinely stopped me in my tracks. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city's dazzling skyline — a forest of illuminated towers stretching toward the horizon, the lights of Futian and beyond shimmering like an earthbound constellation. I found myself drawn to the window repeatedly, at golden hour, at twilight, and again in the deep hours of the night, each time discovering a different mood and a different kind of beauty. The room itself was a masterclass in refined design. The palette was calm and sophisticated, with rich textures and thoughtful layering that felt contemporary yet timeless in the way the Mandarin Oriental has always done best. The bed was, simply put, superb — the kind of bed that makes you reconsider every mattress you have ever slept on and find them all wanting. Linens were crisp and impossibly soft. The bathroom was a sanctuary of marble and glass, generously appointed with the brand's signature amenities, and the soaking tub positioned near the window offered what might be one of the finest bathing experiences in southern China. Every detail, from the lighting controls to the turndown service to the quiet hum of climate perfection, spoke of a property that understands the difference between filling a room with expensive things and creating a genuine sense of place and comfort. The Mandarin Club Accessing the Mandarin Club elevated an already exceptional stay into something truly rarefied. The lounge itself is a beautifully curated space — serene, sophisticated, and blessed with those same sweeping skyline views that make this property so special. But what transforms the Club from a lovely room with good canapés into a genuinely memorable experience is its people. Chelsea Zhou is a revelation and deserves a special mention. Her hospitality instincts are pitch-perfect; she anticipated needs I hadn't yet articulated, and managed to be attentive without ever being intrusive — a balance that even the finest hotels in the world struggle to achieve. Priscilla Pang was equally impressive, radiating a genuine kindness and professionalism that made every interaction a pleasure. Whether it was the afternoon tea service, or the evening menu and cocktails, Chelsea and Priscilla ensured that every moment in the Club felt personal, polished, and quietly luxurious. I returned to the lounge far more often than I had planned, not just for the excellent food and drink,

SSwedKiwi85Ibis offers a comfortable and very convenient stay within walking distance of 2 metro stations, Qifeng Park, and many restaurants. While the room could have been cleaned better, the comfort, facilities and service by the friendly receptionists more than made up for it. I particularly appreciated being able to do laundry onsite and getting directions and advice from the staff.

The hand towels were placed on the sink outside the bathroom, and the bath towels were even in the wardrobe near the window, far from the toilet, which was inconvenient. The showerhead couldn't be fixed in place, and the drainage was poor, so water would overflow into the bathroom during showers, leaving the entire toilet area wet. There was no full-length mirror. While the sink had a large mirror, it wasn't good for seeing your full body or even facial details, so those who need to do their makeup should really reconsider. The inner window offered no natural light, and the room lighting was very dim. There were too many switches, and because it was so dark, it took ages to figure out which switch was for what. The air conditioning was very ineffective. Guangzhou had a cold spell during my stay, and even with the AC on all night, it was still chilly. The laundry room was even worse; the dryer simply didn't dry clothes. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive either, and the stir-fried noodles, rice, and vegetables, which should have been hot, were all cold. However, the cleaning staff were all very nice and proactively asked if I needed anything. The front desk staff's attitude was acceptable, and they responded quickly. The price was inflated during the New Year's Day period, but even the regular prices aren't low. Frankly, the facilities don't justify the price.

GGuest UserHere's my breakdown of the good, the average, and the bad: **The Good:** The elevators are incredibly fast, much quicker than at the Four Seasons. The shrimp dumplings at breakfast were delicious. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job, even neatly folding my clothes and arranging my cosmetics. I can understand why check-in is around 4 PM, given how meticulous the cleaning is. **The Average:** The service wasn't as bad as some other guests described; it met the standards I'd expect for this price point. Bellhops were available to assist with luggage at both check-in and check-out. However, that's where it ended. The concierge at the entrance didn't offer a greeting, and greetings in the hallway were barely audible. When I stayed at the Conrad Xiamen and the Waldorf Astoria, they always provided a nightly dessert service. **The Bad:** What truly angered me was the security guard checking people in the elevator. As a solo traveler, it's easy to get disoriented by the winding corridors. When I asked for directions, he immediately demanded to see my room card. He couldn't even swipe it himself and had to ask the front desk to do it. After all that, there wasn't a single apology. Is it acceptable to treat solo travelers like this? Secondly, the room only had one sink, and it wasn't even in the bathroom. I had to walk out of my way just to wash my hands. Also, to drain the sink, you have to pull a lever underneath, and there were no instructions for this. The room's perceived size is far less than 50 square meters because the entrance partition significantly reduces the visual space. I stayed here after a visit to the Four Seasons, and for the same price, you can get a scenic room over 60 square meters there. Even their 2014 rooms have fully automatic toilets, while this place still has a semi-automatic one that requires manual flushing. I'm speechless.

LLi Chieh TanThe location is very good! Near the Gong Yuan Qian Metro Station. If you cross the road, there is a Ren Min Gong Yuan where at night the locals gather and do activities like ballroom dancing, guang chang wu, and Chinese shuttlecock. It is actually close to Beijing Road, but you can dede there. Downstairs, there are a 7-Eleven, Luckin Coffee, and a pharmacy where you can buy essentials. In the same row but a different building, there are delicious food options like Dian Dian Wang and He Qun Fan Dian. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room has a washing machine (with detergent provided), a hair dryer, a projector with a white screen, and air conditioning. The bed is comfortable. The entrance is at the back of the building. You use the lift to reach the 18th floor, then walk to their S&L office to register. Negative points: The towels have a musty smell, possibly because they are not dried properly. The futon is a bit smelly. The bathroom glass door does not separate the water properly.

CChendashuaige0321I came here due to its reputation and was utterly captivated by this place's style and quality. Even though it's been open for a while, it still exudes an air of understated luxury, perfectly embodying what it means to be timeless and enduring. This experience is truly a rare find. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped by a sense of refinement and opulence. There's no deliberate ostentation, but rather a subtle, sophisticated elegance. Every fixture, every detail has been meticulously crafted, with carefully selected materials and graceful lines. It's a blend of vintage and luxury, imbued with a profound sense of history that comes with age, as if every corner holds a story from time past – quiet yet undeniably grand. What's most surprising is that even after years of operation, it's maintained as if it were brand new. The walls, soft furnishings, and facilities are all impeccably preserved, showing no signs of wear or age. The cleanliness and quality are consistently top-notch. You can clearly feel the dedication and passion of the owners, who have transformed the marks of time into a unique charm rather than flaws of old age. It possesses both the graceful dignity of old-school luxury and the refined state of something completely new. These two qualities merge perfectly, offering a warmth and depth that new places lack, and an exquisite refinement that old places often miss. Being here, you can feel the historical ambiance shaped by time, while also enjoying the ultimate in luxurious comfort. The service throughout is attentive and thoughtful, perfectly matching the high-end tone of the place – not overly intrusive, but just right. Whether you're relaxing for a short while or immersing yourself in the experience, it's incredibly comforting. This beauty, which remains radiant through the years, is truly unforgettable. It's definitely a treasure worth revisiting again and again, having truly perfected the art of blending luxury with a sense of history.
