The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Of course, everyone's taste differs. The room facilities were great, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. I opted for an inner view room to save money, so I couldn't see the pool or the sea, but for just one night, I didn't expect much more. The hotel is very close to all the city's attractions, within walking distance. The front desk and lobby staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and a FamilyMart in the mall next door, which is super convenient. There's also an H.M. downstairs with some good discounts, but I didn't have time to shop as I had a train to catch – a fortunate save! I arrived here by 707 bus from Singapore, and The Pines Hotel is always one of the stops, making the journey very smooth. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended. I don't usually take photos of hotel rooms, so I've included some pictures of nearby attractions, all within about a ten-minute walk.

Bayview Hotel Melaka offers a pleasant and comfortable stay that covers all the essentials for a simple getaway. The room was clean and well-kept, providing a nice space to rest after a day of sightseeing. While the facilities are not particularly luxurious, everything functioned as expected and met the basic needs of a short stay.
The staff were the highlight of the experience. They were friendly, polite, and always willing to help whenever I needed assistance. Their warm attitude made the overall stay feel more welcoming.
The location is convenient, with easy access to Melaka’s main attractions such as Jonker Street and the river area. It’s suitable for guests looking for a fuss-free hotel that’s reasonably priced and comfortable enough for a couple of nights.
Overall, Bayview Hotel Melaka is an average but reliable option—clean rooms, helpful staff, and a good base for exploring the city.

The hotel has a pool, which the kids absolutely loved. Downstairs, there are plenty of dining and massage options. Free parking is a huge plus for self-drivers! Plus, there's a fantastic fish ball shop, Guilinggao (herbal jelly), and durian shop nearby!

The environment is pleasant, and the location is excellent. It's a very short walk to Jonker Street, and close to attractions like the Stadthuys. The common areas have a lovely Nyonya style with exquisite decor. However, the room is small, and the facilities are quite old. The toilet flush in the bathroom is also very weak.

Must praise the staff — the service is really good. From the moment we entered the hotel until we got into our room, everything was well taken care of. They even called to check if the room was alright and if we had everything we needed.

My favorite hotel in Malacca! The design has an old-money feel, very artistic. The breakfast is special, with local Indian pancakes that taste great. The bathroom in the room has a bathtub, and my window overlooks a river. The parking lot behind the hotel is also very spacious. It offers great value for money. The front desk staff are very polite. They even offered a welcome drink and flower cookies that reminded me of my childhood. It truly brought me back to my younger days. I love this hotel so much and will definitely stay here again!

The service was ok. Welcome drinks are served but i think the tea isnt enough, so when we both arrived, we dont have it. But its fine.
There are two quite similar room type, i booked the higher price one but i got it a two single bed room, then we asked the receptionist. They changed us to a double room but the room space isnt what we expected.
Anyhow, we didnt change again. Then we started to unpack and look around, there are water leakage / unwipe water on the floor. And most important, the cupboard is fake on the left side and it dropped and hurt our fingers and toes.. but the right side has a small fridge? I dont understand the design or there is no remark on it… it is so dangerous!
Then the bath tub, was fine, a lot of black stains on it. Honestly, we dont dare to enjoy ourselves in the bath tub. Also the shower head isnt stable! It keeps falling…. Omg.. we stayed for two nights and we feel like it wasnt worth RM670++
One and only time.. i wished to have a nice staycation but it makes us disappointed..

Pro: A good stay at a very affordable price point. Having stayed at other hotels in this budget range, I wasn't expecting much, but the service and breakfast truly set this place apart.I was impressed by the breakfast spread.I expected a simple meal like nasi lemak since its a budget hotel, but the variety and quality were outstanding.Keep up the great work!
Cons: Upon arrival, there was a unpleasent odor coming from the bathroom. However,I appreciate the staff’s quick response in sending a cleaner immediately to resolve the issue.

The hotel's location is quite good, with two malls nearby offering plenty of restaurants and a supermarket for souvenirs. It's conveniently located between Jonker Street and the Straits Mosque, about a ten-minute taxi ride to both. The room looked a bit dated, but the amenities were quite comprehensive. The family room had a bunk bed, which the kids loved. It was advertised as a 2.3m king-size bed, but it felt more like an 1.8m. When booking, it stated two breakfasts were included, and even though we had 2 adults and 3 children, we weren't charged extra for breakfast, which we really appreciated. The breakfast offered both Western and Chinese options, and the taste was good; our favorite was definitely the noodle soup shown in the pictures.

Good location since very close to Jonker street.
But buildings felt old, and very noisy at late night.
Can’t sleep cause the loud sounds when vehicles passing by, especially motorcycles.

GGuest UserOverall, it was decent, mainly due to its excellent location – absolutely perfect. However, the facilities weren't great, especially regarding the water supply.
I stayed for two nights. While the hotel is a bit old, that's generally the style in Melaka, so the ambiance was fine. The main issue was with the facilities. On the first day, there was no hot water. I reported it to the front desk, and they said to let the water run for about five minutes, and hot water should come. But even after ten minutes, nothing. My baby and I ended up showering with cold water.
I reported the issue again on the second morning. Someone came to fix it, and hot water became available. However, while happily showering, the water suddenly cut out... There was water in the sink outside, so I used that to rinse off.
The swimming pool was pretty empty when I went, which was nice and relaxing. Breakfast was also acceptable.
One good perk is that you can contact the front desk to board a cruise directly from the hotel's entrance. However, you can't guarantee sitting together with your party because people who boarded online at the opposite dock then come to the hotel's entrance to board, so you usually have to sit separately.
