Stayed at The Fox Hostel from Nov 23–24, 2025. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the staff was very kind and helpful. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, and the room was spacious enough for two people. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the town of Selfoss. The rooms are large and clean, and the breakfast is plentiful. I didn't see any Chinese guests. There is a hot tub outside the room, and it is very quiet at night.

Overall stay was ok, the service was not bad as we had issues with the aircon and the staff tried to help but at the end could not solve it. He gave us another room but the issue persists. It was really hot the whole night but the room and toilet was clean. The room is not that big but just good for one night stay, super near Gare du Nord.

The room is well heated! I like it very much! It is also suitable to wear summer clothes in the room in winter, and the washed clothes are dried in one night. There are several restaurants and shopping areas on the first floor of the hotel. The food is not very good. I don't recommend it.

Amazing view! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and from the room, it feels like you're immersed in an unreal landscape. The room was warm and cozy, and the surroundings were incredibly quiet – it felt like the world had been muted. The staff were very enthusiastic and service was prompt. The hotel provides slippers, and anything we needed was quickly brought to our room. The outdoor hot spring was wonderfully relaxing; soaking in it while enjoying the view made me feel like all my worries melted away. I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to my next visit.

The room is a bit small, but the hotels in Iceland are like this. The surrounding environment is very good, the hill in front of the hotel can be hiking, there is a large lake behind, and the snowy mountains can be seen in the distance when the weather is good. The grass and birch forest on the side are very eye-catching, and there is a hot spring pool near the lake not far away.

The best place to see the Aurora. The rooms are large and clean, and the facilities are good. It is optimized for the Aurora, so there is nothing around, so you need to prepare snacks in advance. Diamond Beach and glacier experience are within an hour. I would like to visit again if I visit Iceland. Breakfast is also very good. Outdoor hot springs are available..

The cabin is located in a field, and the navigation is only 100 meters away. When we arrived, it was almost midnight, and it was difficult to find the entrance. The parking lot is just over 10 meters away, and all the connections are gravel roads. It was the first time to book a hotel with shared bathrooms, and the shared bathrooms felt very clean. The key was placed on the table of common facilities, where I washed up first, and then found our cabin No. 10 according to the map there. There are a total of 12 cabins. There are curtains in the cabins, but not enough to surround a circle. The roof is transparent, which is convenient for watching the stars and the aurora. There is enough heating and electric fans in the room. There are eye masks and earplugs at the head of the bed, but I don’t need them at all. When I woke up in the morning, the sun was shining, but I was not woken up by the sun. It is recommended to stay for one night in the season of the aurora!

Absolutely perfect! The hotel offers an aurora service, and we witnessed a massive aurora display right outside the hotel entrance! The cleanliness was also excellent, and the beds in the standard room could be pulled apart. Plus, the guy at the front desk was quite handsome. Once you've seen the aurora, nothing else really matters!

Absolutely fantastic location near the multiple active geysers. The included breakfast buffet at the Hotel Geysir is incredible with many choices and high quality food. This is a basic room but a good value considering alternatives and location.
