Stayed at The Fox Hostel from Nov 23–24, 2025. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the staff was very kind and helpful. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, and the room was spacious enough for two people. The hotel was in a good location, and breakfast was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we booked this place to use the hot tubs and when we arrived they weren’t filled. I called reception twice to have someone check out the issue but nobody ever came. It was really unfortunate since we had gotten caught in the wind and rain so our bones felt frozen. I decided to have a bath instead but the tub couldn’t hold water haha it was a series of unfortunate events.

Excellent breakfast and very clean. Hotel Örk stands out for its excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The rooms and common areas were very clean and well maintained. A comfortable and pleasant stay overall.

The room is well heated! I like it very much! It is also suitable to wear summer clothes in the room in winter, and the washed clothes are dried in one night. There are several restaurants and shopping areas on the first floor of the hotel. The food is not very good. I don't recommend it.

Amazing view! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and from the room, it feels like you're immersed in an unreal landscape. The room was warm and cozy, and the surroundings were incredibly quiet – it felt like the world had been muted. The staff were very enthusiastic and service was prompt. The hotel provides slippers, and anything we needed was quickly brought to our room. The outdoor hot spring was wonderfully relaxing; soaking in it while enjoying the view made me feel like all my worries melted away. I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to my next visit.

Well-located hotel, easy to find. Check-in is Icelandic style: you receive your room number and code via email. The room was small but comfortable. The restaurant is very good with a view of the lake. The only downside: breakfast is until 10 AM, but by 9:30 AM, the staff starts clearing the buffet... a shame for late risers.

The hotel is a bit far from town, but there's a horse ranch nearby. The service and environment are excellent. Perhaps because it's so far from town, it's convenient for viewing the aurora borealis. Also, the front desk offers an aurora wake-up call.

We are really disappointed at the stay of the Aurora Igloo as it didn’t mention that there’s no toilet inside the room. We have to walk for 100m outside to get the bathroom as the winter is so cold and windy in December. Moreover, the hotel heater isn’t working really well, so we didn’t stay for the second night. As we have spoken to the owner, he says that we are able to receive refund in to my card. Thank you.

The room was a bit small, but having a hot spring bath and sauna made up for not being able to go out due to the strong winds on the day we checked in. However, there aren't any restaurants nearby, and since it's not an apartment, we couldn't cook in the room. The restaurant on-site had a nice ambiance, but it was expensive and the food wasn't great.

Absolutely fantastic location near the multiple active geysers. The included breakfast buffet at the Hotel Geysir is incredible with many choices and high quality food. This is a basic room but a good value considering alternatives and location.
