Amazing view! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and from the room, it feels like you're immersed in an unreal landscape. The room was warm and cozy, and the surroundings were incredibly quiet – it felt like the world had been muted. The staff were very enthusiastic and service was prompt. The hotel provides slippers, and anything we needed was quickly brought to our room. The outdoor hot spring was wonderfully relaxing; soaking in it while enjoying the view made me feel like all my worries melted away. I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to my next visit.

Well-located hotel, easy to find. Check-in is Icelandic style: you receive your room number and code via email. The room was small but comfortable. The restaurant is very good with a view of the lake. The only downside: breakfast is until 10 AM, but by 9:30 AM, the staff starts clearing the buffet... a shame for late risers.

Stayed at The Fox Hostel from Nov 23–24, 2025. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the staff was very kind and helpful. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, and the room was spacious enough for two people. The cabin is located in a field, and the navigation is only 100 meters away. When we arrived, it was almost midnight, and it was difficult to find the entrance. The parking lot is just over 10 meters away, and all the connections are gravel roads. It was the first time to book a hotel with shared bathrooms, and the shared bathrooms felt very clean. The key was placed on the table of common facilities, where I washed up first, and then found our cabin No. 10 according to the map there. There are a total of 12 cabins. There are curtains in the cabins, but not enough to surround a circle. The roof is transparent, which is convenient for watching the stars and the aurora. There is enough heating and electric fans in the room. There are eye masks and earplugs at the head of the bed, but I don’t need them at all. When I woke up in the morning, the sun was shining, but I was not woken up by the sun. It is recommended to stay for one night in the season of the aurora!

Overall stay was ok, the service was not bad as we had issues with the aircon and the staff tried to help but at the end could not solve it. He gave us another room but the issue persists. It was really hot the whole night but the room and toilet was clean. The room is not that big but just good for one night stay, super near Gare du Nord.

The lake view room is quite nice, close to the supermarket and much cheaper than Reykjavik, the breakfast is average, the coffee is not good. In the town, the view is definitely not as good as the hotel in the mountains.

A lovely friendly, comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Hvergerdi. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. We don’t get to try the hot tub as we ran out of time. Breakfast is good and the staff friendly. Location is ok..within 40 mins you can be in Reykjavik or in the golden circle route. Vik is about 1.5-2 hours away. Very close to the lava tunnel experience too. There is a Petrol station and some places to eat, shops in the nearby town about 5 mins away

Absolutely perfect! The hotel offers an aurora service, and we witnessed a massive aurora display right outside the hotel entrance! The cleanliness was also excellent, and the beds in the standard room could be pulled apart. Plus, the guy at the front desk was quite handsome. Once you've seen the aurora, nothing else really matters!

The double room was spacious and had a unique design, giving it a cabin-like feel—very beautiful. The hotel also offered a hot tub, which was a great way to relax. The surrounding area was convenient, with a convenience store and gas station nearby, making transportation and supplies easy.
