Stayed at The Fox Hostel from Nov 23–24, 2025. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the staff was very kind and helpful. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights, and the room was spacious enough for two people. I would definitely love to stay here again.. 2025.11.23 비크에서 요쿨살론 & 다이아몬드비치 가는중에 the fox hoste 에서 하루를 묵었고, 시설이 깨끗하게 운영되고 있고, 주변에 빛이 많이 없어 오로라를 보기에 좋음. 데스크에서 안내하시는 분도 매우 친절함.

The hotel was in a good location, and breakfast was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we booked this place to use the hot tubs and when we arrived they weren’t filled. I called reception twice to have someone check out the issue but nobody ever came. It was really unfortunate since we had gotten caught in the wind and rain so our bones felt frozen. I decided to have a bath instead but the tub couldn’t hold water haha it was a series of unfortunate events.

Excellent breakfast and very clean. Hotel Örk stands out for its excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The rooms and common areas were very clean and well maintained. A comfortable and pleasant stay overall.

The room is well heated! I like it very much! It is also suitable to wear summer clothes in the room in winter, and the washed clothes are dried in one night. There are several restaurants and shopping areas on the first floor of the hotel. The food is not very good. I don't recommend it.

Amazing view! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and from the room, it feels like you're immersed in an unreal landscape. The room was warm and cozy, and the surroundings were incredibly quiet – it felt like the world had been muted. The staff were very enthusiastic and service was prompt. The hotel provides slippers, and anything we needed was quickly brought to our room. The outdoor hot spring was wonderfully relaxing; soaking in it while enjoying the view made me feel like all my worries melted away. I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to my next visit.

Well-located hotel, easy to find. Check-in is Icelandic style: you receive your room number and code via email. The room was small but comfortable. The restaurant is very good with a view of the lake. The only downside: breakfast is until 10 AM, but by 9:30 AM, the staff starts clearing the buffet... a shame for late risers.

The hotel is a bit far from town, but there's a horse ranch nearby. The service and environment are excellent. Perhaps because it's so far from town, it's convenient for viewing the aurora borealis. Also, the front desk offers an aurora wake-up call.

We are really disappointed at the stay of the Aurora Igloo as it didn’t mention that there’s no toilet inside the room. We have to walk for 100m outside to get the bathroom as the winter is so cold and windy in December. Moreover, the hotel heater isn’t working really well, so we didn’t stay for the second night. As we have spoken to the owner, he says that we are able to receive refund in to my card. Thank you.

The room was a bit small, but having a hot spring bath and sauna made up for not being able to go out due to the strong winds on the day we checked in. However, there aren't any restaurants nearby, and since it's not an apartment, we couldn't cook in the room. The restaurant on-site had a nice ambiance, but it was expensive and the food wasn't great.

Absolutely fantastic location near the multiple active geysers. The included breakfast buffet at the Hotel Geysir is incredible with many choices and high quality food. This is a basic room but a good value considering alternatives and location.

AAnonymous User💯💯💯 recommend Lindartun Guesthouse! Stayed here for 1 night on 1st October 2024 after our drive to Highlands and got here when it was already dark but i loved the drive to the junction from the main road to the guesthouse. It was pretty dark around the area which we thought we could be lucky for aurora sightings but it was cloudy. Luckily, I asked the owner when was the last aurora sighting at the guesthouse and she immediately opened her laptop and that’s when I found put there’s aurora forecast website in Iceland. She was the one that let us know there’s higher chance to spot aurora on the upcoming friday due to clear sky. Oh btw, for our check-in process, when I first arrived and entered the guesthouse, please take off your shoes by the entrance, and go to reception area infront of the kitchen and take the house phone to call the owner. We booked room no. 5 which cones with a sofa bed and the long toom was so cute and cozy. This is the cutest guesthouse room design among all 13 accoms across the country during our trip. I really loved it a lot as the room was long and spacious. The common dining area was really nice and big which I didn’t really spend time here. But I used the kitchen the next morning to boil hot water and make myself my hot chocolate and instant mushroom soup. Worth my money. Will book again if I visit Iceland again next time! How I’d described it: Lindartun (Cute Cozy Homey Vibe) Room Type: 1 Queen Bed + 1 Sofa Bed Toilet: Private Bathroom (clean and big) Perks: Nice kitchen and dining area Thank you for helping me out with my aurora hunting and for maintaining a really cute and nice guesthouse, owner!

GGuest UserVery pleasant stay and top notch service. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy. The staff were very quick to assist and very flexible with our requests. Really amazing! The location is right at skogafoss which is really convenient, though the view of the room facing the fall cannot really see the waterfall.

GGuest UserThe good: - Breakfast was very good! - Room and bed was warm. - hot water shower works almost instantly. - Netflix and Amazon Prime available on the TV. Can be improved: - toilet slide door emited loud screeching sound which was annoying. - poor sound isolation between floors, we stayed on the ground floor and we could hear stomping the whole night. We feedback this to the hotel staff but was just given a “I cannot do anything about it” face and a shoulder shrug which clearly indicated they did not have the intention to do anything about it. - phone in the room was not working, staff had to reboot it as they said it’s a common issue. - the air vent in the bathroom stopped moving after sometime, was told to turn it off and on again to make it work again. - we checked in the same time as another couple at the reception, we overheard that they got a complementary room upgrade from the standard room (same as us). We asked if we would be upgraded as well, staff just told us that it depends on the amount we paid for the room. But clearly we booked the same standard room? Overall: Room rate was on the high side and much was expected but the condition of the room and service were under delivered.

GGuest UserWe have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip. Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us. The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!

MMini1222The hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' drive from town, and the views are absolutely stunning – you can see the Northern Lights right from your door! **Amenities:** The room is spacious, beautiful, and very clean. You can even cook here, which is a big plus. It's really comfortable, and I highly recommend staying for two nights for the full experience. It was fantastic!

MMaxigua123The view is excellent, at the foot of a mountain, it should be a cabin to see the aurora, but unfortunately we did not see the aurora in summer. The location is not far from Scoga Falls, Seriyaran Falls and Vic Black Beach, these three attractions can choose from here. The house facilities are very new, the heating is turned on in advance, the Icelanders really don't know how to advertise, and the good house is like a rough house. The housekeeper's English is not good, but the communication is still clear. Other comments are helpful, you can call the password until they answer the phone, if you can't, you can also take a chance on the spot, and you will see the women who clean up the house working nearby.

--Rechen-Hepburn is a very quiet town, so this hotel is quite good in comparison. It's an older-style hotel with no elevator, only stairs. By 7 or 8 PM, there were no supermarkets open for shopping. Overall, if I were to stay in the area again, I'd choose Wicke (assuming Wicke is another location/hotel name, otherwise it might be a typo for 'Wick' referring to a brand of essentials).

GGuest UserThe accommodation was fine. The accommodation was spacious, especially the bathroom, which had a countertop, which was useful for spreading all my cosmetics out! The place itself isn't a tourist destination, but it was very handy. There was supermarket nearby and petrol station and not far from the main road. Handy for the Flo nature reserve if you're into birdwatching. The coastline there is impressive. Big waves Or handy if you want to visit Reykjavik, which we did for the evening. (45 minute drive?). I didn't score so highly on service because there isn't any service as such. There were also no additional facilities other than the room and ensuite, which was fine. Parking is out the front and was plentiful. We stayed in mid-May and it was fortunately very quiet. We did arrive early, and were pleased to be allowed in to our rooms, so really appreciated that. Thanks!

GGuest UserThe room was not soundproof at all, and I could clearly hear noise throughout the night. The entire room felt damp, especially the bedding. The blanket was noticeably moist, which caused me to have an allergic reaction. My skin became extremely itchy, and I barely got any sleep the whole night. This was a very uncomfortable experience, and I was extremely disappointed. I will definitely not stay here again.
