We washed and waiting our clothes to be dried in the dryer machine. It’s about room checkout time. The owner let us wait until the dryer completed, although it passed the check out time. We were grateful to her kindness and helpfulness very much.
My recent stay at Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka was overall a very positive experience, thanks to its fantastic amenities. After long days spent exploring the stunning surrounding landscapes, the hot pools were an absolute highlight. Soaking in the warm water under the stars was incredibly relaxing and a perfect way to unwind tired muscles. This was definitely a standout feature of the resort and something I greatly appreciated.
If I were to be particularly picky, the only minor annoyance during my stay was a faint but persistent hissing sound coming from the telephone line in my room. While it wasn't overly loud, it did become a little distracting when trying to get to sleep.
Despite this small issue, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Oakridge Resort.
Very design hotel, good location, across the street is the mall, the only view of the hotel is the hotel interior, parking fee is 30 a night, charging is 45, it is slow charging, superior room is similar to ordinary room, executive privileges and so on confirmed but nothing, the hotel front desk told me that the breakfast restaurant is very delicious, I tried it, it only looks good, no meat, the room is spacious and bright with design, all of which are the best hotel I stayed in this trip except Auckland InterContinental, but it is more expensive than Auckland InterContinental
I recently stayed at Scenic Hotel Southern Cross and had a very pleasant experience. One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is its excellent location – it's within walking distance to many of Dunedin's main attractions, including the Railway Station, Baldwin Street (the world’s steepest street), and Queen’s Gardens. Whether you're in town for sightseeing or just want convenient access to key places, this hotel is ideally situated.
The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making the entire stay hassle-free. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space to relax after a day of exploring the city.
Another plus is the on-site hotel parking, which is a great convenience, especially in a central location like this.
Overall, I’d recommend Scenic Hotel Southern Cross for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in Dunedin with friendly service and all the essentials covered.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Parking a bit expensive $25 for 24 hours. Has washing machine and dryer in hotel room which is very handy! Highly recommended!
Heartland has the ideal location - just a short walk from the heart of the city, yes the views from the King Chalet room was breathtaking. Thankful to be assigned a very nice corner room for my week’s stay. Interior of the room is kept simple yet comfortable. I had a most unforgettable stay!
The front desk is a Chinese male, the service is warm, the room is clean and sanitary, it is a bungalow, and there is no noise from the second floor. It is very close to the place where you can see penguins. There is a panda restaurant not far away that is very delicious. It is great to take it back to the hotel to eat.
The room is spacious. For breakfast, there weren't any leafy green vegetables, but they had mushrooms, fruits, and the apple juice was excellent. Orange juice, pineapple juice, bacon, sausages, and fried eggs were also available. The hotel is very close to the airport, an Uber costs around 38. From the hotel, you can walk to the town center in about 10 minutes. You can take a gondola, which needs to be booked online and costs 66 NZD per person, or take a steamboat, which usually takes about 1.5 hours. It's best to catch the 9 AM trip, returning around 10:30 AM. Once you check in, you can head straight to the famous burger joint. There isn't much of a queue in the evening. The hotel's own dinner is also quite good.
the front desk staff was so nice & helpful , as well as the other hotel staff! only thing wanna say the entry to hotel basement parking is too small / narrow for a big car (we are hiring Mitsubishi outlander) so please be careful when cornering at the entrance!
overall, spacious room, comfortable bed and convenient location & check-out (just drop a key inside a box next to the roller gate if you driving!)

::))We were thrilled to be the very first guests to leave a review for this stunning new resort! The location is fantastic, just a quick 10-minute drive to town, and our room offered breathtaking views of the Shot River, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere.
We arrived around 10 PM, and the hotel reception was impeccably prepared, warmly welcoming us and even upgrading our room! It looked exactly like the photos, with a design and interior that perfectly captured the vibe we were seeking. They had welcome drinks waiting for us, and we appreciated that milk was available on request at any time.
The breakfast was a delightful a la carte experience, featuring an array of delicious options. The serving staff was not only attentive and kind but also provided excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants!
We also indulged in room service, which exceeded our expectations in both taste and punctuality. Although the fitness room and movie room were still under construction, the small maintenance issue we encountered in the bathroom was addressed swiftly by the staff.
Our stay has left us eager to return and see the final results of this new gem. I highly recommend this resort to everyone!
AAylwinDLocation: The hotel is located close to the Queenstown airport but approximately 15 mins away from Queenstown itself.
Parking: There is no parking bays at the Hilton (only valet) itself but it shares with Doubletree which is limited. Due to some maintenance work, level P2 was closed off and had to park in a reserved slot for the night. Cost of parking is NZ$ 16 per night.
Rooms: This is where my issue lies, the room temp is centrally managed and it was freezing at night especially with the floor to ceiling windows. Had to go to the front desk for portable heater and extra blankets on the 1st night. Bathroom is non-heated (with tiled floors) so extra cold in there. In most places we stayed in NZ, the bathrooms had heated lamps overhead for comfort. I requested the accessible room for mom and it was provided as requested although the location of the room was on one end of the building which is a distance to walk.
Food: Breakfast was a good selection and ran from 630 to 1030am.

GGuest UserI had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park for one night, and it was a delightful experience.
The location of the hotel is excellent—situated close to the airport and within walking distance of a bus stop, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. Whether you're catching an early flight or exploring the stunning scenery of Queenstown, the location is a great advantage.
Though my stay was brief, I found the hotel to be clean, modern, and well-maintained. The room was comfortable, with all the amenities one would expect from a Holiday Inn property, ensuring a restful stay.
GGuest UserI rarely give hotels bad reviews, and first, I must commend the hotel staff; their service, attitude, and professionalism were outstanding. However, on the very first night of our stay, we encountered several issues:
1. The bathroom exhaust fan was broken. It took until the third day to get it fixed after we reported it. Queenstown gets very cold in winter, so having to leave the bathroom door open for ventilation was truly unpleasant and significantly impacted our experience.
2. The shower pressure was extremely low, and it came with a very loud, high-pitched noise. Taking a shower became a genuinely frustrating experience.
3. The back of the air conditioning unit emitted a green light, positioned right above the head of the bed. This kept me awake all night. It only improved after staff taped it over the next day.
4. Additionally, there were stains on the sofa.
On the positive side, the scenery was excellent, and the complimentary parking was very convenient. However, be aware that if your room is below the 3rd floor, the view will be obstructed (this is important to note). The Airbnb we moved to afterwards offered even better views at a lower price, and even had basic cooking facilities like a stovetop and microwave, allowing us to prepare our own meals.
Overall, this experience was absolutely not worth the price. The hotel offered no compensation, and the room was quite small. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
