We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, at first they gave us a standard room. This is of course awful - the room was very old and clearly requires urgent repairs. It absolutely does not match the pictures in the booking. There is no kettle, the safe is paid, the TV is miserable, the room itself is quite small, everything is shabby, dirty and unpleasant. Not at all what you expect for 300 euros per day. After indignation and nerves, we were given a room of a higher category, with a sea view. It is much more similar to what we saw in the pictures, although it is also quite old. The soundproofing of the windows is very poor and every day until midnight we had to listen to loud street concerts. In general, the hotel is more like a pensioner's house - only grandmas and grandpas, it is only unclear where they got so much money. The absolute advantage of the hotel, however, is the amazing rooftop terrace with a warm pool. There are always enough sun loungers for everyone, they give you a towel. If you want, you can run and swim in the sea below, on a small rocky beach. Breakfasts are very good, plentiful and tasty, among other things there are freshly squeezed juices. Dinner was also decent, although without drinks. The location is the best - right on a pedestrian street, on the 1st line. As a result, I can say that the hotel is more or less "ok", but if you plan to stay here - avoid the "standard" rooms, they are not worth the money and are much worse than all the others. It is important to note that the hotel as a whole is quite old, I think its best time was about 20 years ago.

We are repeat customers, it is always a pleasure to go to Valle Mar, they have a Notable rating in all valuable aspects, highlighting the kindness of the Lifeguard. Also a plus to be able to go with our dog, they always have a detail with her. It is a highly recommended hotel. Thank you.

Really well located, next to the ocean. Good value for money, nice staff and good bufet for a breakfast. Great view from the rooftop, rooftop with the pool and restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable, same as bathroom. One minus because of lack of iron for guests at the reception and poor wi-fi.

I stayed in this hotel for 10 days in mid September with my siblings, my parents, my partner and my toddler. Upon arriving late in the evening we were very grateful to see how spacious, clean and comfortable the rooms are. We slept really well. The one thing to note is that all the beds are singles pushed together which can be an issue if you like to cuddle with your partner to sleep as the beds kept moving apart, but they were very comfortable and we slept well. The rooms are all air conditioned which is very welcome on stickier days. We stayed in a room with a sea view and it was really wonderful to wake up to the view every morning. In the evening there is live music at the bars outside which can be a little loud - if you like to sleep early I recommend ear plugs - however all the music stops by 11pm and we enjoyed many an evening sitting on the balcony and enjoying the music below. I think it's worth noting that if you do have any issues the hotel is very quick to respond. On our first night we noted that the lock on the door did not work, and the seal on the door of the shower was missing. Within half an hour the hotel maintenance had come up to the room to rectify the issues, and they did so quickly. The hotel has WiFi which can be a little patchy at certain times of the day when it is lost used but is otherwise reliable. There is a TV in the rooms with a good selection of channels - I will note that the English channels didn't work and did need reprogramming but it wasn't an issue as as we didn't have time to watch TV anyway! There is a mini fridge in each room which is very handy. There is a charge of €2 a day for personal use which really isn't bad at all. The selection of food available at the hotel is really wonderful. Every night there is a different theme. My favourites were Spanish and canarian nights. But there is so much on offer you should find something for even the pickiest of eaters. Every member of staff working in the restaurant was so friendly and lovely. As there were 7 of us travelling together they reserved a table for us each morning and evening so that we didn't have trouble to eat together. I will however note that one particular member of staff didn't appear to want to accommodate this - a woman with dark hair, glasses and waistcoat and green tie (different levels of staff wore slightly different uniform) for some reason whenever this particular lady was on staff she would remove our reservation. Initially we thought this was a mistake but it happened like clockwork on her shifts and never happened when she wasn't in. I'm not sure why she took issue with our group. She was also quite rude to me one day when I was trying to go to our usual table (which had been dressed for breakfast already) to retrieve the high chair for my son. I tried to explain to her several times I was just going to get the chair but she didn't seem to understand and was insisting on directing me to another area of the restaurant. The re

We could not get a room for 5 weeks from first of Febuary as fully booked direct or via internet. But we have used the roof resteraunt and bar many times and would like to say how fantastic the food is with your new Chef and also the exemplary service from your Staff, and thanks to Phillipe who has served us for many years on our holidays. Thanks for the many great Lunches past and present.

Loud disco music at 8am at Breakfast! Asked Senior Staff to reduce Volume ,,,Was Told “Complain at Reception” -NOTHING was Done! Verbally complained to AsstManager; was told” Complain to the Police OR go Somewhere Else”! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER AND OBV THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF EXPRESSION ‘THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT’ !!! RUDE AND EMBARRASSING BEHAVIOUR BY STAFF AND SENIOR STAFF! Plenty of Other Excellent Hotels in Puerto ; Suggest booking at One of Them. ,,,
Response from Property: We would like to clarify that the background music in our restaurant is set at an optimal volume, and we have not received similar complaints from other guests. We understand that you submitted a formal complaint form without first speaking with a team member to seek a solution. Nevertheless, we respect your decision and have followed the established procedure. Additionally, we offered you the option to move to another hotel that might better suit your preferences, but you have decided to continue your stay with us.

We stayed only one night, which I think is unusual, the hotel seems to be a main partner for German tourist travel, no bad thing, which means most guests stay longer, on half board. Very lovely reception staff, friendly and multilingual. We hadn't booked parking (mistake) but they found us a place anyway. Room nice, balcony facing to the garden area, nice and quiet and very good efficient aircon which we greatly appreciated. Easy walking distance to town, right in front of the caesar Manrique pools (partly closed right now). Restaurants and bars all round. Recommend, would stay again, especially because of the staff. Roof pool lovely and breakfast very good.

Stunning roof top terrace which is the best location for a sundowner. I didn’t stay at the hotel unfortunately but was able to visit the bar as a non resident to take in the stunning views and became my go to place for a sundowner each evening. Don’t tell everyone about it as it was nice and quiet!!!
Response from Property: A review so complimentary like yours makes us feel very, very happy: big thank you!

To be a four star implies some sort of comfort and service . This hotel had a great location and lucky if you have good beach view , but is a bit awkward that you ask for room slippers and they don't have or you ask for a bathrobe and they have an extra charge for it . The breakfast is not at level with a very messy budget without any thought of modern food & beverage and presentation in bulk more proper for animals than for humans . Easy to present all in small portions as that's the normal trend today . Staff is kind and cleanliness and maintenance works good . Could be better with some lore little details and an update buffet presentation .

A 5 day stay at this expensive hotel. Beautiful sea views, nice staff. A bit tatty for the price. But the room stank - a mixture of sewage, fried food & smoking and worse with windows closed. Chose your room carefully- the hotel says it is aware of this problem in certain spaces. Eventually moved room - management unhelpful.
Response from Property: Dear guest, we are sorry for your comment about the smell in the room. We offered you a room change which you gladly accepted.

Recently stayed at this beautiful hotel for 4 nights (16th to 19th January) in a fabulous location overlooking the beach and surrounding area of Puerto de la Cruz. We booked a Superior Room with Sea View and were not disappointed. Fabulous views from our balcony. Very welcoming staff on Reception, beautiful well maintained grounds, beautiful roof top pool area with adjoining Restaurant. First class food great quality in Restaurant and buffet breakfast (absolutely everything you could ask for and so fresh) locally produced. Rooftop Restaurant for lunch was fabulous. Menus extensive and all cooked fresh. Restaurant Staff Exceptional, courteous and friendly. Plenty of room around the pool, and no-one getting up early to bag a bed. Top Class Hotel and Staff. Just one minor point to make and this is not a criticism, we would like tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It's just our personal preference to get up early in the morning and sit on the beautiful balcony watching the world go buy listening to the waves crash with a cup of tea or coffee before going down to the fabulous breakfast buffet. Thank you all staff a ValleMar, we will be back.

We decided to stay beach front this time on visiting Puerto del la Cruz, after previously being up the hill. This hotel's perfect location means you are right in the heart of things. The room we had was on the side which meant a view to the front and out to sea. The room was clean and modern with a balcony. There is a pool and bar on the roof which has fantastic views. All the staff were helpful, but a special mention goes to Marie Victoria, in the restaurant, from the 1st night she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed at Hotel ValleMar from October 24th to November 7th and had a Delux room on the 4th floor. The room was perfect with fantastic ocean vieuw. The rooftop terrace with pool is amazing and there are plenty sunbeds. We had half board, breakfast and dinner. The food are delicious and of high quality and there are plenty of choises. The staff are all helpful and friendly. We love PDLC and have now found our dreamhotel. A three weeks stay will soon be booked for next October/November. We give Hotel ValleMar 10 out of 10.

The good: the rooms are spacious, the dining room has lovely views, the bar and waiting staff are very professional and friendly, there are a few English tv channels in the room and a fridge, the rooftop bar and swimming pool offer a wow factor, plenty of sunbeds. The bad: the rooms need refurbishing, all brown wood panelling that's getting scuffed and it's a bit depressing, beds a bit hard, no kettle in room. No plug sockets near the dressing table - you have to unplug the tv to use hair straighteners. The reception staff are quite rude in that they stop attending to you to answer the phone and then carry on chatting for ages ignoring you, they don't wish you goodbye or anything, the food is varied and plentiful but it's always cold, cold chips, cold bacon, cold fried egg, cold baked beans, cold stews, cold grilled meats. Horrible. The cafe outside, Bangosol, is great. Live music every night, good service. The attached photos show view from rooftop pool area.

An ideal location, close to taxi rank and train to Loro Park. Great room with great view and ideal for people watching. The balcony does not get any sun until very late in the afternoon (January.) Room and bathroom kept clean and tidy being serviced every day. There is a charge for using the room safe. Felt a bit penny pinching as most hotels don't charge for that anymore. The beds are not very comfortable, being on the hard side. I prefer a firm bed so it was borderline for me but my wife found them very uncomfortable. The double bed is two singles pushed together (it does say on their website and is common in Spain). The biggest disappointment was the food. Tourist numbers were very much down and the hotel only seemed a quarter full so there were low numbers for the buffet dinner. We arrived late on our first night and were greeted by a virtually empty dining room and buffet food that must have been out for a couple of hours and was lukewarm. There was a single steak half cooked on the grill and it was cut in two and served to us. One piece was about 2oz and was half gristle and was like leather. Not a good start for a hotel we chose for their food (from their website). We changed our normal holiday eating time to eat much earlier in an attempt to get warmer fresher food. Lots of it was still lukewarm. We have stayed in a number of hotels who can manage to keep their buffet food warm. They can't seem to do it here. We spoke to another couple who had been regular visitor and they commented how they felt that the food was not up to the usual standard. However the breakfasts were better( busier and more turnover?) and the majority of staff very pleasant and helpul. There is a good selection of wines that were very reasonably priced. A pleasant dining room with fabulous views. We went on a package deal (TUI) who only offer half board. If we return to Puerta de la Cruz we would happily stay here again but try to book b & b and eat out - so many nearby restaurants to choose from.
