It’s our maiden trip to Penang and I honestly did not have much expectations but our holiday was off to a GREAT start right from arrival. while we looked at photos and write-ups prior, the room was so much larger than we thought. the King bed is 3m wide which is much more spacious than what we’re used to back home—wonderful for us cos we were travelling with a 4yo. We also hadn’t realised that our room came with lounge access for evening drinks + snacks so that was a nice surprise. The view on the rooftop was breathtaking and we had some really nice photos taken. Guests also get to access the sister hotel’s facilities, which is a short buggy ride (or walk) away, so that was another pleasant surprise. the pool at G hotel Gurney was more varied and fun for the child, so that was another plus. breakfast spread is also really good. If we were to come back to Penang, i would not hesitate to stay with them again.

G hotel location is exellent. . i can just go to the next door, Gurney plaza to shop, karaoke, watching movie and most importantly, food is easily accesseble, very suitable for elderly person who cant walk far. Room is spacious and clean

I had a fantastic experience at Penang Marriott Hotel. The staff were warm and professional, making check-in seamless. The room was spacious, spotless, and offered stunning sea views, with a bed so comfortable it guaranteed restful nights. The team’s attention to detail and exceptional service truly elevated my stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel apartment has complete facilities and is very new and clean. There are many places to eat around it. It is not far from the newly opened shopping center and can be reached in about ten minutes on foot. There is a seaside park in front of the hotel where you can take a walk. There are really few people living in the executive apartment, and it is very quiet. The biggest flaw of the hotel is that the water drain has a serious odor, and there is no smart toilet installed. The breakfast is not bad, and the highlight is the noodle bar that suits the Chinese stomach.

The hotel is old money standard. Very simple , classy and extremely clean room. We had 1610 and the view is a fantastic. Bathroom is big and very clean. The amenities given are better with most items. most hotels used the excuse of being “environment friendly” and scrimped on basic toiletries. Will definitely book again if in Penang

Loved my stay! We were soooo happy to be upgraded to a room with a view that was sooooo spacious! Stayed there for four nights over nye and had a great view of the fireworks!! My only complaint would be that there isn’t a Nespresso coffee machine in the room (which is a surprise given that most hotels now offer them) nor do they provide cotton wool (isn’t that also a basic provision?). Do note that the hotel doesn’t provide complimentary bottled water either, and only tap with filtered water… however I did appreciate them giving out mint water/ pandan bluepea water in the afternoon for guests (wished that it’s all day long!) at the lobby.

A very good location. Overall consider jot too bad, if the aircon is functioning well. Our room got an issue of aircon water leaking, after feedback to receptionist, they send technician to repair within 10mins, but it happen again next day morning. Other than this are good.

The most premium hotel i ever experienced in Penang. No regret for the view from 29th floor. Spacious room size with living room. Bathroom size is impressive with incredible sea view

I’ve been choosing this hotel for my yearly trips to Penang, but this year was a huge disappointment. When I made my booking a week before my arrival, I called to request connecting rooms. The front desk assured me they’d make a note of it, and I understood it was subject to availability. However, when I arrived, it was clear that no one had noted my request. The staff seemed completely unaware, and they ended up giving me two separate rooms on the same floor but at some distance from each other. To make things worse, one room faced the pool, while the other (where I stayed) faced a construction site. At night, it was unbearable. Construction work was happening even at midnight, and the noise made it impossible to sleep. I wasn’t feeling well that day and had hoped for a restful night, but the experience left me exhausted. The next day, I woke up with a fever and felt even worse. When I approached the front desk about the situation, the receptionist simply said, “Unfortunately, we have no rooms to change at the moment.” I understand things happen, but what frustrated me was the lack of effort to resolve the issue. As a guest, I expected more professionalism and some sort of solution, not just a dismissive reply. To make matters worse, I felt so sick that I had to rush to the toilet to vomit. I spent the entire day feeling miserable in the noisy room. It wasn’t until 6:30pm that someone finally came to inform me that I could move to another room on a different floor. By then, the damage was already done. This experience really left a bad impression. I’ve always enjoyed staying here in the past, but after this visit, I’m not sure I’d come back again. It’s disappointing to see a hotel I used to trust fail to provide even the most basic level of care during my stay.

The room is clean, location is great to walk or grab places around, staffs are helpful. Only slightly disappointed the swimming pool is small at a hidden corner somewhere in the building, awareness of water cleanliness is needed.
