It is our first time visiting Penang. We love the city, and we are blessed that we stay in Hotel Malaysia. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Especially Hassan, who cleaned our room. Ms. Farah, front desk officer. The hotel is humble, old building and simple but very homy and clean knowing the building age.the breakfast is simple but clean and tasty. The bed sheets, towels, blanket are clean, no bad smell. The bed is firm, not sinking, the pillow is good not flat or dusty. Amenities is very simple bit okay. Staff is helpful when we need anything. We really appreciate and wish to come back one day. Thank you very much Malaysia Hotel

My elderly parents stayed at The Gurney during their medical checkup in Penang and accidentally left behind some documents. We emailed the hotel and left a message through booking.com to no avail. Then through a phone call, we got connected to Danesh at the Concierge Department, who then went the extra mile to coordinate among various departments within the hotel, and mailed the document through express courier service. His attentive service is highly appreciated.

Our honeymoon at this fantastic 5-star hotel was an absolute dream! The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of all the must-see spots. The complimentary mini-bar and coffee service added a thoughtful touch to our stay. The staff went above and beyond, making us feel truly special with their warmth and professionalism – perfect for solo or couple travelers. Just a small thing, breakfast could use a bit more variety. Nevertheless, highly recommend for an unforgettable experience! 👍😊

This July we made our usual durian pilgrimage to Penang and stayed as usual at Hotel Jen Penang one of our favorite hotels. We booked 2 Club rooms for party of 4 and upon checking in, the gentleman manning the front office was very kind and prompt in guiding us up to the club lounge to enjoy cocktail hours while he registered us for the rooms. That is what service is all about-making guests especially regular guests feeling welcomed. However food variety is limited to 3 hot items during evening cocktails 5-7pm . Rooms at level 16 are nice but strangely no pen or decent pencil were in the room when I needed to make some notes.

We had a pleasant three-day stay at this hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location, situated between two large malls with plenty of shops and restaurants and within a reasonable cab ride to both George Town and Batu Ferringhi. The room was quite spacious but a little bit dated and worn down. It could use a refresh. The bed was very comfortable, however, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. We enjoyed using the beautiful infinity pool. Service was friendly and efficient. One area that could use improvement is the breakfast. Although there is a good variety of items offered, many just weren't very tasty. The best thing on the buffet was the homemade ice cream. Overall, this is a good place to stay when exploring the island of Penang.

I had a pleasant stay in E&O Hotel, the room is spacious with seaview. Overall, it was a good experience for me to stay in such a historical building. Everything is good except the swimming pool area tables and chairs need to be replaced as it looks dirty. Breakfast was great with variety of food choices.

EEsucenIt was the first hotel to stay in Penang, with cost-effective and ideally located, close to some of Georgetown's attractions and cuisine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, there was also something to be aware of, as this hotel only offers public bathrooms and toilets. And the soundproofing of this hotel was not very good, at night you would hear the DJ sound of the next nightclub, until about 2 p.m.😮💨

GGuest UserStayed here one night in family suites with 2 rooms with my 2 kids, the hotel is not far from Komtar penang. Parking is not an issue even for our MPV, their rotating car park with escalator can move the car into empty slot. Check-in is fast and we stayed at level 19th with nice city and some ocean view. Room is very big with a living room, master room with big washroom and changing cabinet, and another connecting room. Wifi is fast and there are 19 tv channels to choose from. Next morning we went for their gym at level 22, not very big but good enough with 5-6 workout machines. Breakfast is at level 21 buffet styles, choice is just nice, not many but food is ok with reasonable price, only RM21 per pax.

554STFirst experience with capsule hotel bed and dormitory with 3 other lovely female travellers. Fortunately, it was an experience exceeding all expectations!! First WOW - look at all the cultural heritage, beautiful art, antique items and furniture, the Feng Shui Koi pond, water fountain, greenery! OMG- better than visiting a museum- you get to live and experience it!!! Second WOW- looking for street food? Walk around and you see stalls selling the local delish: SATAY, Lok Lok, Char Hor Fun and other stalls. Also, the handicraft stores with Batik and wooden sculptures! Other amenities : open swimming pool, 3 shower room next to it and hair dryer (tip: the water pressure and shower much more satisfying compared to bathtub or shower inside dorm room, and a game/ relax room filled with couch to wind down after a tiring day. and just Final WOW- the receptionist and staffs are helpful and well-informed! Guests were invited to join in the fun and you can see guests lounging in the open, relaxed and chatting with the staffs!
Room for improvement: mosquitoes... can't seem to get rid of them ( so be prepared) and the places are considered clean... but not spotless. I hope this culturally rich building can be well maintained, and the places be properly upgraded even more as it succeeds as one of the most valuable hotel experience in Georgetown 🥰

GGuest UserQuick check in and check out, friendly receptionist. Standard room is very large. It can put down a 3 person bed and a temporary extra bed. Very limited facilities. They only provide 2 towels, 2 small bags per tea and coffee, 2 small plastic mixing spoons. Stay away from the elevator near as it is a bit noisy especially during sleep time. Convenience store and laundry service are available, just downstairs. Halal food across the street is just around the corner. Free WiFi, good location, good for going to hospital. The island hospital is within walking distance, or you can sit on uber, as long as RM3 around.

BBz_BktNew hotel less than a week after opening. The room is high in value and the design is fashionable. The hotel has limited parking spaces and cars can be parked on the street. Once you get to the hotel floor, you need to take the elevator to the second floor to check in. Because of the early arrival of the hotel, there was no sign of the front desk when I arrived, and I waited for the front desk staff to return soon. The kind smile and service attitude made up for the previous shortcomings. The most need to improve is the sound insulation of the room. When there is a vehicle passing, I feel like I am sleeping on the roadside and I am noisy all night. This hotel is really good if I am not afraid of being disturbed by the sound.

Despite the initial room assignment problem it was resolved to our satisfaction and we are particularly pleased with the insider recommendation of places to eat and visit. Our trip was made so much better just following their recommendations. Areas for improvement is there’s no full length mirror and plug for hair drying in the toilet. Drying at the plug in bedroom is inconvenient as there’s no mirror. Plug placement are not well thought out and finally room soundproofing is bad. Areas that was a hit - 24 hour lounge was great, beautiful design and spacious room.

Because it only opened in 2018, the hardware is very new, and the hygiene is good. I especially like to have a washing machine, but I have to find a place to dry the clothes indoors. The location of the apartment is very good. On the left is the GAMA supermarket, and on the right is the landmark of Everbright. Fruits and snacks have their own favorites! Call the front desk before arriving at the hotel, because the front desk is not here, so call in advance and the hotel will send staff to wait at the door. When you call, you need to speak English. There is a Chinese-speaking waiter. India borrowed ”Di Li” (transliteration)-Figure 6 this one. If you call him, you will have no difficulty in communication. He will come to collect a tax of MYR 10 per night, introduce room facilities, and even help you set up a taxi app on your phone. The network is poor and it can't be connected for a few days, so it is important to buy a local phone card. On the second floor facing the street, the noise of motorcycles on the street is loud, which will affect the rest. These problems are not big, this hotel is worth recommending.

GGuest UserI have stayed in many hotels and even I'm also a hotelier. Requested for early check in at least 15 minutes earlier but the reception strictly allowed to check in after 3pm only. There must be some give and take with guest, then only we can thoroughly enjoy the hotel and service. If the room is ready, please allow the guest to check in abit early. It's not compulsory but it will help to make the guest happy with customer service.
