We stayed here for a night during a 3 day hike, and this hostel style hotel exceeded our expectation. The bento box for dinner was better than expected. The porridge in the morning was great, especially with the extra toppings provided with it. Even the coffee included was much appreciated. We had a private room, and it met all our needs. The onsens were great! 3 are there and never seemed to be busy…I recommend the outside one. Location is also ideal…only a 2 minute walk to the town Onsen. We usually like to stay in 3 star hotels or better seeing we are not hostel type people anymore, but we would stay here again, and I would recommend this place to anyone.
There are fewer restaurants near the hotel. You can go to the hot springs when you stay in the hotel. Although the facilities are very old, it is really comfortable to soak in the soup after hiking! ! The front desk does not speak English but the service attitude is very good, it is still very recommended
We took the Ryujin Bus and arrived at Kamimota. It was not yet check-in time, but the hotel lady was already waiting at the door. Serve warm tea, introduce the hot spring time, ask about meal time, and carefully prepare for dinner in the room. After the meal, we made the bed and asked thoughtfully about the time for the next day's morning service and the time for the bus to leave. The whole process was considerate. It was very cold outside when we left, and the hotel lady asked us to wait in the hotel until the bus came to the door. When we left, he said goodbye to us warmly and waved until we left. The hot springs here are very good, the food is delicious, and the experience is great.

The hot springs, cooking and facilities were good, and I was relaxed. I thought I would come again only for meals and hot springs because it was 2 hours and a half by car from my home in Osaka. [Location] Ryujin Onsen itself is a quiet hot spring area in the mountains where there is nothing around, but it is located in front of the Koyasan side and is a little far from the hot spring town where inn and shops are gathered (a few minutes by car). [Facilities] It is not a small inn in the hot spring town, but a large and splendid building, and the lobby and dining room are also wide 々 and relax. The souvenir shop was also substantial and bought a dried cherry blossom overnight with breakfast. [Hot spring] It is the biggest attraction point. The open-air bath that enters while listening to the river and the sound of the cherry blossoms was the best. The appearance and the feeling that entered are sarcastic, but when I touch my body with my hand, the hot water is ”wet” and it is tangled with the skin. [Meal] The dinner buffet was not just like heating the things that were common in a large hotel, but it was very delicious with handmade ingredients that made use of local ingredients. The most impressive was the fresh and delicious salty cherry blossoms and the large shiitake mushroom tempura. It was a plan with a Kumano beef pottery plate of 2200 yen plus, but this is also a great product, and I think the value of 2200 yen is sufficient. The sake (I had a light dry ”Kumano Sanzan”) was great and the price was conscientious. The staff such as the front desk dining room and the telephone response in advance were perfect.
Although the location is relatively remote, the boss service is good, the spring quality is super good, it is a hot spring hotel that can be visited again.
Excellent stay after Kumano Kodo hiking. Futon very comfortable. They helped in transporting lugages to room. Excellent, plenty, very tasty dinner, also breakfast. I forgot a fleece jacket, they contacted our travel agent in Athens to find me, they sent it next day to my Osaka hotel (with very reasonable courier cost). Fleece was nicely packed with a complimentary card included. Thank you for hospitality, very friendly personnel.

I want to go around Kumano Sanzan without a car, and when I plan to travel to Kumano Kodo for a little, there is a transfer from JR Shirahama station, and I know this inn that I will pick up and drop off to Kumano Kodo for free I decided to stay. I was very helpful because I was worried about the bad access of Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine and how to get a small number of public buses. It was more than expected, but multiple family baths that were put without reservation. I was surprised by the luxury size. This inn often introduces a photograph of a large open-air bath, but I also entered once, but if you are a guest, the family bath is definitely recommended. However, the hot water is hot, so it may be severe in summer? The room should not expect luxury. There is an old but clean, so there is no complaint. The impression that the meal is usually delicious if you take the inn. I had a drink at night, but it was very cheap (it was twice the price at the inn the next day)
Masako Shirasu is still considered Japan's number one gourmand. Masako Shirasu never cooked for the rest of her life. It was all eating out. Kyoto Miyamasou is the restaurant that Masako gave the highest rating to, and it still has two Michelin stars. Masako's favorite foods were salt-grilled sweetfish and sweetfish segoshi, which she usually ate at Hiranoya in Kyoto. Ayu is naturally caught in the river, and the segoshi tastes good only around June. Segoshi is not something that can be eaten because the bones are hard unless it is a young ayu. You can eat that delicious sweetfish dish here at Yorozuya! First of all, please see Yorozuya's HP. A slogan full of confidence. It's literally delicious. The deliciousness lined up in Hiranoya! Anyway, sweetfish is delicious! Let's enjoy the plan (May 27th to July 31st, 2023) to eat wild sweetfish from the clear stream of Hidakagawa. Last year and this year, I ate sweetfish dishes at 5 places, but here Yorozuya was the best! The building is a little run-down, and there is also a hot spring. Now, let's go find some other delicious sweetfish.

CCEL_LLarge room with a great view of sea, clean and cozy.
I was arriving late which passed the check-in hours due to flight delay. My sim card cannot make phone calls in Japan and I was afraid of not being able to check in. Fortunately, the front-desk gentleman was waited for us until midnight and helped us check in. And he guided us to find the vending machine to find the food even not speaking English. It’s a very positive experience to live here.
GGuest UserThe decoration style of the hotel has a sense of Showa era, combined with the ocean, very distinctive. The boss is very enthusiastic and not very Japanese. When I was eating, I talked about it. The boss also said that he had worked in Shanghai 20 years ago and was so intimacy. The hotel is on the side of the road in Kumano Ancient Road, where you can explore the ancient road. And it really is fog の, it is raining in the morning and fog is really like in a fairyland.
GGuest UserI stayed here for 3 nights. It was about a 6-7 minute walk from JR Kii-Tanabe Station. The hotel opened around August 2023 and was new. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and there were no shortages of amenities. If I had to say one thing, it would have been nice if there were more places to hang clothes. The hotel staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable stay. The price may vary depending on the season, but it was about 12,000 yen per room per night for two people. Considering the location and comfort, it is a good value for money hotel that I would recommend.
GGuest UserFor a westerner this is a bit of an odd place. Its quite easy to list its deficiencies- there is no bar, no place to sit in the Sun and , I’m afraid to say, we did not find the food vey palatable. Elsewhere in Japan we have steered for the small local restaurants with no English menu - we’ve loved the food but not here. The best you can say about breakfast is that you can construct a bacon butty but as for dinner … well we had pot noodles in our room most nights. A question of taste I guess. Why 5 stars then? Firstly the staff are marvelous- went the extra marathon never mind a mile , simply the best. Secondly our Japanese style room high up above the river was fabulous with awesome views of the river and oodles of space. Even loved the futons. The outside onsen is a great place to chill, if that is the word for a hot spring even if you have to wear an item of clothing which is a cross between a kilt and a loin cloth and does little to cover your modesty. A memorable experience
GGuest UserThis hotel is unattended, so you have to check in online at the gate. This process took some time, and the rest was a surprise. The room was very clean and tidy. There was a sumptuous dinner and breakfast for the next day prepared in the refrigerator. Of course, it was also a buffet. You had to cook it yourself. The two children each baked a pizza, which gave them a full sense of accomplishment. What's also great is that the owner has prepared a complete set of hand brewing equipment so you can brew delicious coffee yourself.
447437014By Japanese standards, room size is large and I love the sliding window doors that can open the room completely to nature. Also very nice that even though this hotel has several onsens, the room still has a shower tub, and Western (not Japanese) toilet. Dinner is sumptuous and the best hotel dinner I had in Japan. Hotel receptionist spoke English so can be extra helpful, like putting me on the free hotel shuttle to the start of a Kumano Kodo hike high up in the mountains.
DDeparture809482I searched for a hot spring inn by the seaside where I could stop by. There is no ♨️ on the map, you can pump it from the basement, and you want to stay at the hot spring! Here, ”Tenjin Onsen / Tanabe Motoyu” is a power-up hot spring, and the spring temperature 31 ℃, pH7.2, and sodium / hydrocarbon salt spring are listed in the composition analysis table of the posting. The room was a deep inn with Japanese, Western, wide and narrow, various dishes, and a single plan without meals. All rooms have ocean views, and the room I stayed in is single. Feel free to stay without meals and feel like a business hotel. A housing complex was built in the old Mera fishing port, and Motoshima was connected by a breakwater, and it seems that ferries and fishing boats passed just beyond the wave-extinguishing block like a waterway. Isn't there a few hotels so close to the sea? It was raining when I arrived, but it was Satsuki in the middle of the night. I wanted to capture a large ship passing through the Kii Waterway far away, but I fell asleep someday. When I look at it in the morning, the leaves of Motoshima Tree 々 are white. It seems that various bird droppings have fallen. By the way, when I opened it from the window, I heard a cry even in the middle of the night.
CCamper804451I stayed with my husband and wife on New Year's Eve. I heard it was like a business hotel, but it feels a lot old. I'm going to book a spacious room, but it's still small enough to find a place to put a suitcase. The bath used the inner hot water on the 2 floor, but it was a very good hot spring. Karan is 4 (?) and the dressing room is small, but the quality of the hot springs was very good and I was able to take a bath comfortably. The meal was a Viking with the next green water. I received a lot of New Year dishes. It was delicious. I thought it was cheap and OK here if I just went to sleep in the hot spring.
GGuest UserRight next to Kiitanabe Station. The hotel is located on the 3rd to 5th floors of a 6-story building facing Ekimae-dori. Although the appearance is colorful, the building is aged and the interior is slightly dirty. There are no washlets or wake-up call facilities. Yukata is nightwear. Television reception is poor, and one commercial station has intermittent images. 5,300 yen per night for a single stay on the day before a holiday. This level is unavoidable because it is a local city with few competing hotels.
GGuest UserThe room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.
