Hotels in Shangdi and Zhonguancun Area, Beijing

Overall, it was okay. One male staff member was very helpful and assisted me with changing rooms. However, the service from other staff needs improvement. Parking was an issue; we had to deal with the problem of insufficient parking spaces while carrying our child and luggage, and I'm not sure how the hotel and parking lot manage their arrangements. When we asked questions, staff would respond with phrases like, 'I don't know, you'll have to look it up yourself,' even though they were busy and providing service. I understand they work hard, but I also overheard them chatting about wanting to quit, which isn't very professional to do in front of guests.

My stay at the Boya International Hotel in Beijing far exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is superb, right next to Peking University, offering a strong scholarly atmosphere. The environment is elegant and quiet, the rooms were spotless, the bedding was comfortable, and the facilities were very well-maintained. The breakfast had a rich and delicious selection. It was incredibly convenient for both sightseeing and business. A special shout-out to Managers Chen Wei and Li Qiqi! They were incredibly patient and meticulous during check-in, proactively helping with room type arrangements and answering questions about travel routes. When I had a last-minute request, their response was incredibly fast, and their handling of issues was professional and thoughtful. Throughout, their attitude was gentle and patient, without any perfunctoriness – they truly made me feel at home. With both excellent hardware and software, plus the outstanding service from these two managers, this stay was exceptionally comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the Haidian area, and I'll definitely prioritize booking Boya again on my next trip to Beijing.

The location is super convenient, really close to the subway station, which made getting around so easy. The room was very clean, and I loved the smart devices and screen casting feature. It was also nice and quiet at night, perfect for resting. The front desk staff were great, always helpful and quick to resolve any issues. Overall, my stay was much better than I expected, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Beijing!

This hotel is really great! The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed, and the location is excellent. I had to bother the front desk a few times, and each time they were responsive and enthusiastically helped solve my issues. They even have a robot for food delivery, so you don't have to go down to pick it up yourself.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, equipped with all the necessary amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, catering perfectly to the needs of modern business professionals. The hotel offers a diverse range of dining options, with satisfying choices for both Chinese and international cuisine. Furthermore, the staff are friendly, professional, and efficient, ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming and 'home away from home' experience. For travelers seeking a high-quality accommodation experience, the Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun is a highly recommended choice.

Two months later, I'm back at the Friendship Hotel's VIP Building. I really love this garden-style hotel; the management and service are excellent. Any issues are resolved promptly. The VIP Building is more modern than the other buildings, and sometimes the suite prices are discounted, making it a great value stay. It's very convenient here with both subway and bus stops nearby. Across the street is the Huayu commercial complex, offering plenty of dining options. The hotel is also quite close to Zizhu Park and the National Library, just a ten-minute bike ride away.

Staying at Atour was incredibly comfortable! The Bamboo House book bar is quiet and perfect for reading. The front desk staff's tea service was a warm touch, and the handwritten card showed great attention to detail. The room had a refreshing natural wood style, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep. The surrounding area offers convenient transportation, and the local photography wall added a lovely cultural touch. The service was thoughtful and attentive without being intrusive. This will definitely be my top choice for future business trips, and I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a touch of cultural charm.

My first stay at an all-female hotel! It's a very new place, and the service and environment are both good. It really felt like a student dorm, small but made me feel very safe. The bedding was also brand new, and I fell asleep instantly. The soundproofing was just okay, but everyone was considerate, so it wasn't too noisy during my stay. The only thing was a slight smell when I checked in. Perhaps it's because there aren't proper windows; there's a small window with another inner window outside, so the air circulation isn't great. I also tested for formaldehyde, and it was mostly within acceptable limits. The concentration on the bed was slightly higher, but the test kit might not have been perfectly accurate (for those who are sensitive, you could bring some activated carbon sachets, they work wonders).

This hotel was the best experience I had during my four-day stay in Beijing. First, let me give it some praise. My husband said the windowsills were sparkling clean, so they really do clean every single spot daily. Although breakfast buffet isn't included, paying for it isn't expensive, and the variety and taste are decent. The shower drain is the fastest I've encountered in all the hotels I've stayed at, which is great! There aren't many hidden corners for dirt, so it's very clean. Even though I paid extra for this room, it was definitely worth the additional cost. The hotel's location is also excellent, in a very convenient residential area. But unlike some hotels that try to cram in as many rooms as possible, making them narrow and dark, this hotel has a large parking lot right at its entrance. Anyway, I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Beijing. Alright, that's enough praise. Now I want to complain a bit. I only booked for one night, and when I wanted to extend my stay the next day, the front desk told me that the room I paid extra for was no longer available. I'd have to switch rooms, and it would be much, much more expensive than before. So, I had no choice but to stay somewhere else the next day. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I'll just share two pictures of some interesting cars parked outside the entrance.

I previously had not stayed with Atour, but it was a pleasant surprise. We previously had stayed at Hyatt which was good but still had issues like we couldn't adjust the room temp past 21 degrees Celsius. At this Atour you can adjust the AC quickly where the rooms feel comfortable. It was also very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast which had your croissants, a chocolate pastry, small muffin waffle maker some cereal egg etc. it also had a noodle/ wonton bar and other various Chinese dishes which is what I preferred. One of the nicest things about atour is the laundry as well as the night time porridge which we took advantage often. The staff was very friendly and very helpful and was quick to address any requests. When I needed help booking tickets for Tiananmen they were able to help. When we asked for extra towels, the little robot caught it within minutes each time. For our next city, because of our great experience we decided to book another atour. I would definitely recommend it, it is a much, much better deal than Western chains and I regret not using atour sooner for our China trip
