This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim.

My main goal for this Kyoto trip was to revisit Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari-taisha, and explore Kibune. So I chose to stay near Kawaramachi, and ended up picking this Hilton. The hotel is right by Shiyakusho-mae Station on the Tozai Line. I'd recommend using the Kawaramachi Plaza exit, as it's the only one with an escalator; if you use Exit 1, you'll have to carry your luggage yourself. Technically, you can't see Honno-ji Temple's graveyard from the hotel, but it is close to the road and can be a bit noisy at night. In the mornings, there are fewer motorcycles, and Sundays are quiet – I even slept through breakfast one day! You can walk to Keihan Sanjo Station, enjoying the Kamo River along the way. If you prefer, it's also just one subway stop. It's not far to walk to Kawaramachi Shijo either, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. This time, I surprisingly opted for a breakfast and dinner package. The variety was better than at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo Premier, but they don't change their menus, so eating the same thing for three consecutive days can get a bit monotonous. As for a drawback, I'd suggest the hotel checks the elevator buttons – the static electricity is quite bad; I got shocked almost every time.
Taking the bus is more convenient from Kyoto Station, as you'll need to change trains on the Hankyu line.
There's a large 7-Eleven on the first floor of the hotel, and they also offer free Mos Burger delivery.
As some reviews have said, the lighting in the room is a bit dim, but I didn't find it a problem and found it just right for relaxing.
All the necessary amenities are provided, and the free mineral water was very helpful as the room tends to get dry.
The room was also well-cleaned, making for a comfortable stay!

The hotel's location is unbeatable, super convenient, and the service is excellent. Especially impressive was that they let me check in at 1 PM, even though most Japanese hotels only allow check-ins after 3 PM. That was great! As for facilities, they're definitely not the newest since it's not a recently renovated property. The soundproofing is a bit poor though; I could clearly hear the Japanese guests next door talking, which was a bit disruptive. Also, I think the breakfast could be more varied. Other than that, I have no complaints. The price was reasonable, and the pool was also very good. If I go to Kyoto again, I think this will be my top choice.
The hotel's location is quite good, and watching the sunset from the courtyard is truly beautiful. Perhaps because it was the off-season, the entire hotel felt very quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff at reception were all very welcoming, and their attention to detail was excellent. Breakfast was relatively average, nothing special but perfectly adequate. The hot springs were quite comfortable, and not crowded at all. There are both indoor and outdoor options, and soaking in the outdoor springs when there's a big temperature difference is really pleasant. The only downside was that after a day of activities, I wanted to take a bath, but found a very noticeable hair from a previous guest in the bathtub that hadn't been cleaned. I contacted the front desk, and they sent someone up to clean it, which took about 20 minutes to resolve.
This is a large hotel that's very popular with locals. They offer buffet-style meals for both breakfast and dinner. The hot spring bath isn't very big, and the facilities feel a bit dated. Both sides of the hotel offer sea-view rooms. Check-in took a while, but they gave us a lot of snacks and free-flowing beer.
The Japanese breakfast was delicious. I was satisfied with the price. The location is not very good, and it takes several minutes by car to get to the nearest restaurant, so please be careful.
The location of Sakamotoya is simply amazing. Just turn left from the cruise ship terminal at Amanohashidate Station. Across the road is the bus stop to Ine, and there is also a cable car 🚡 to go up the mountain for sightseeing. Bought a two-day pass to completely save the cost of travel. After arriving, we stored our luggage by ourselves and then went to Ine. Checked in after 3 o'clock, the owner had already prepared tatami in the room on the second floor. The room was spacious for 4 people. The first floor is the public area. The toilet is at the end of the second floor. The bathroom is very Japanese with a hot tub and the water temperature is very warm. In short, I am satisfied.

It's great. Located in the city center, it's very convenient to go anywhere. There are also many restaurants downstairs. The two beds are suitable for a family of four. The renovations are all new, which is quite nice.
The location is just opposite Nijo Castle, within walking distance, very convenient. Kyoto is not big, very leisurely, and the hotel is generally good to the attractions. The front desk and lobby manager are good, their English is online, very international, especially the European and American guys hired, the communication is very smooth. The facilities in the room are also good, the breakfast is also great, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice machine is quite interesting.

IIRADAEverything was good except the service in hotel restaurants, which was exceptionally bad:
1) breakfast: waited for food for 40 mins, reminded the server 2 times - still nothing;
2) bar: a too long wait for a cocktail. the server said that as apology said cocktail won’t be in included in the bill… but it was there;
3) afternoon tea: told the staff that I dislike dairy products, but have no allergy. So, for example I can eat most sweets, but not the ones with a strong taste of mascarpone cream. In the end they gave me just a plate of fruit and when I remninded them of the above they… did nothing ) I stayed at this hotel and had afternoon tea there last year too - everything was fine then.
All of the above are 3 different restaurants inside the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend going to any restaurant there. In all other aspects except services related to food the hotel is good.

JJackyThe hotel is in a great location, with the Kamogawa River just outside the window, and a panoramic view of the cherry blossoms along the river. The Mizuki is especially delicious, and we were not satisfied even after two dinners in a row. The service and hygiene are impeccable, and except for the higher prices during the cherry blossom season, there is really no complaint.

GGuest UserChoosing a hotel during the peak season is a challenging task. I chose this place based on the overall credibility and value for money. The overall experience is good. It is not amazing, but it has some characteristics. The landscape design of the master is remarkable, and it is a good place to check in and take photos.
