Very Good
GGuest UserThe room was quite spacious with a nice view, but the facilities are a bit dated. To get a completely dark room for sleeping, I had to switch off the main power switch by the door, which meant getting out of bed to turn off the remaining lights that were still on and glaring. The air conditioning was terrible; even on the lowest temperature and highest fan speed, I woke up several times at night feeling hot despite being under the covers. The buffet was just average.
MMia’s Travel MemoirsFor the price, this was a really average stay. The staff were average, as well as the food. The staff were friendly but they didn’t feel genuine. The Temple itself is very beautiful. The rooms are large, however the floor mattresses are completely worn out so you can actually feel the hard floor beneath you. I’ve stayed in a Ryokan before and their mattresses were still soft and comfortable so this Temples mattresses are definitely in need of an upgrade. Would I come here again? Probably not.
GGuest UserArrive at JR Shirahama Station and then transfer to the taxi for about 4 minutes. It is very close to Toretore market and can be reached on foot. The rooms are panda-shaped and spacious inside. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style
NNorth JumpTaoya Nachikatsuura is a refurbished property with excellent rooms and a great location, making it a VERY comfortable and convenient stay overall.
Nice touch with the selection of yukata in chic designs—it adds a bit of personality to the experience. The hotel also offers free-flow alcohol and small bites throughout the day, you need to be careful not to over drink or overeat.
Both the dinner and breakfast buffets stand out, offering a wide variety of options with solid quality across the board.
That said, the in-room outdoor bath (our booking) felt unnecessary. In our view, it’s not worth the extra cost, as it doesn’t come close to the full experience of the main onsen downstairs.
GGuest UserWe absolutely cannot contain our elation when recalling our recent stay at this remarkable hotel. From the moment we stepped into the elevator adorned with personalized name cards, my husband and I were enveloped in the warm embrace of hospitality. The attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the staff made us feel like VIP guests. They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards.
But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection.
The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for.
I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
So if you seek a hotel experience that transcends mere accommodation and transforms into a symphony of opulence, impeccable service, and culinary artistry, then look no further. This is the epitome of hospitality, a sanctuary where dreams come true, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who craves an unforgettable journey of indulgence and delight.
GGuest UserThis onsen hotel is right by the sea. We had a room with a 180-degree unbeatable ocean view, a super spacious room, and a huge balcony. The hotel's facilities, management, and service are all top-notch. There's a large public bath, a mixed-gender bath, and several private onsen rooms. The hotel is not far from Sandanbeki and Senjojiki, easily reachable on foot. Highly recommend! 👍
GGuest UserFacilities: We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room, which seemed recently renovated and was quite new. It also had a large balcony with views of Wakayama Bay.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness was excellent. You could let the front desk know daily if you needed your room cleaned.
Environment: It's super close to the lonely torii gate, within walking distance! On our last day, before leaving, we even saw a stunning sunset and twilight sky from our balcony.
Service: The staff could all communicate in English, which was very helpful. The breakfast and dinner menu rotated every three days, so we only had a repeat dish on our fourth day. However, it was all Japanese cuisine; there were no Western options available.
CChia Wen LeeThe place has nice onsen pools with a good sea view. They let us change the check in date which was very helpful. It’d been better if the booking time for breakfast and dinner was informed before the arrival so guests could plan better for meals as the location is around 20 minutes walk from the railway station and restaurants.
GGuest UserNice view nice place, keep you relax staying in the hotel, free parking right beside the hotel, new experience of dinner with great cheese, and a set of breakfast with unlimited coffee give you refresh in morning. But beware of their dinner time at 5:30 and breakfast time in 7:30 that may different than expected.
