Fuji-Q Hotel is part of the Fuji-Q Group, located on the mountain north of Lake Yamanakako. If you call the hotel from Yamanakako Bus Station, they'll send a car to pick you up. There was a handsome foreign gentleman at the front desk who gave a very detailed explanation of the hotel's facilities – big thumbs up! We booked a balcony room, which was great value for money. The room was spacious, and the complimentary bottled water had a lovely design, perfect for Instagram photos. The view of Mount Fuji from the balcony was absolutely stunning, and you could pretty much overlook the entire Lake Yamanakako. We tried both hot springs at the hotel, each with its own unique charm. The 'Starlit Bath' allows you to gaze at the starry sky from the outdoor pool at night, while the other hot spring offers views of Mount Fuji's sunrise in the early morning. Unfortunately, you can't take phones inside for photos. The hotel's breakfast was also delicious with a wide variety of options. When we visited, the hotel was even hosting a haiku event, and if your submission was chosen, you could win a free night! I wonder if our entry will be lucky enough to be selected. Anyway, it's the thought that counts, haha. All in all, it was a fantastic stay.

Service staff were efficient, although queueing to trade your keys for your shoes slowed things down. (Understandable, because this is also a day-trip onsen, so the hotel needs to ensure all tabs are covered before letting guests go.) Facilities were old but well-maintained, although my room window couldn't be closed without force. Wide variety of baths to choose from, and convenient hours. Note that there is no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in guestrooms, as this is an onsen facility - all soaps and bath amenities are provided in the onsen area. Several onsite restaurants providing many food options, which made up for the lack of vegetarian-friendly options around the area.

We were incredibly lucky to get room 111. As soon as we opened the window, there were many clever koi fish. Whenever someone was on the balcony, they would immediately come over. There was fish food available at the hotel entrance; it was self-service. We were very touched. We had a five-year-old child traveling with us, and the hotel staff always made sure to include the child's utensils when preparing cutlery in the restaurant, even though we hadn't ordered dinner for him. We will definitely come again. Thank you.

I stayed one night at Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka and really enjoyed the beautiful view of Mount Fuji from my room. The breakfast was very nice with a good variety of food. However, one thing that disappointed me was that I couldn’t turn off the hot spring water in the room. The running water sound made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Since I was only staying for one night, I didn’t request a room change. Another area for improvement is that the staff could be more proactive in assisting guests with their baggage upon arrival. The hotel’s location is far away from the train station, but we drove there so it was fine. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with a stunning view and great breakfast, but there’s some room for improvement in comfort and service attentiveness.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

The room was super small, the bed was small, and there was a bed. But the facilities are complete, the service is very good, and the breakfast is delicious. There is a supermarket nearby and there are many restaurants, which is very convenient. Recommended stay

It is a long established, but the room is clean and the facilities are updated. There is a question that the hot spring can be said to be a large bath, but the quality of the spring is good and comfortable. I think I will definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay with our 5 year old It was a treat to stay in a traditional hotel with Yukata and sleeping on Tatami beds. The food was absolutely amazing and very delicately prepared. Luckily, we had our own private open air bath, otherwise it was extremely difficult to book any reservations for the onsen and private baths. By the time we checked in, everything was pretty much fun Our kid loved the cute kid's amenities kit, feeding the carp and walking through the garden. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

We were so impressed when we checked in around 6pm—Mt. Fuji was perfectly clear! The reception staff were very thoughtful, explaining the onsen, activities, and double-checking our booking. They even guided us to the camping site and let us fill bottles with Mt. Fuji’s pure mineral water—so welcoming. Breakfast and BBQ dinner were excellent, with fresh ingredients and tasty meat. The staff were very helpful during the night-time BBQ—amazing service! The private toilet, shower, and onsen were very clean. Convenient location near a supermarket, and we even saw Mt. Fuji again when checking out. We’ll definitely come back!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk to Lake Kawaguchiko. We chose a room with windows, and the hotel gave us a corner room, so the front window offered a perfect view of Lake Kawaguchiko, and the side window overlooked Mount Fuji. The hotel also has free hot spring baths, which was a nice bonus. We also booked breakfast and dinner, and they were quite good!

GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

RRon_NYanagiya is a nice little local onsen. They do not have too many rooms so you will not feel overcrowded. It is a nice place to spend for days to relax your body and mind. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak limited English but in case you come across any issue with language, feel free to use translation app. If you are driving, the onsen is easy to find and there is a carpark in front of the Onsen with plenty of space. There are also 2 x EV charging but not sure if they are for onsen guess. The room is spacious, clean and tidy. The air conditioner is featured with heater and cooler function, so you don't have to worry about weather during winter and summer. The hot spring is open for 24 hrs, except time when they swap between male and female access, usually it takes 30 minutes and they take this opportunity to clean up the facilities too. Food are generally fine and portion is reasonable. Staff are caring d considerate. We have two kids at age of 7 and 9 and they do not take spicy or raw food. When they noticed, they have offered to tailor made the breakfast for the kids so that they don't prepare food that kids do not eat.

AAnonymous UserOut of all the Fufu properties I've stayed at, the food here ranks as the second worst (Nara being the absolute worst). The Western-style breakfast, specifically, was awful except for the bread. However, the kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) was delicious. The drink menu is good, with both the special strawberry cocktail and local sake being excellent. The view offers a great half-panorama of Mount Fuji, and the room I got through Ctrip had a prime location. The onsen quality is average, and the bedding is a bit rough and unremarkable.

GGuest UserA classic old-school modern hotel with ryokan-type service. The room is huge and has excellent views of the river. On a good day, it should be possible to see Mount Fuji as well. There is also big onsen area with an outdoor bath area. Dinner is served on the ground floor restaurant and it was a delicious multicourse meal which includes really good wagyu steak with wasabi shoyuzuke. Dessert also includes the region's famed grapes. Breakfast was served buffet style with selection of Japanese and western items. I drove to the hotel with a rental car. It is not too far from a station on a local line but I recommend driving around to explore instead. The patrons to the hotel also seemed more local.
