A hidden gem of a hotel with spectacular views of Mount Fuji! I booked a random room just a week before Golden Week, and upon entering, I was immediately struck by how spacious and bright it was. The room itself was also very roomy and incredibly clean. Both of their hot springs offer direct, panoramic views of Mount Fuji! The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the breakfast restaurant started my day off beautifully. It happened to be Children's Day in Japan, and the hotel thoughtfully provided games and movies for the kids. I was very satisfied with this stay. I highly recommend staying two or three nights – it's truly rejuvenating.

The hostess is absolutely wonderful. If I ever come back to Mount Fuji, I'd choose this hotel specifically because of her. She helped me book a car to see the fireworks festival, translated for me, lent me a bicycle to ride around the lake, and even offered to drive me when it rained while I was on my way to Lake Yamanaka Hirano. She's the same age as my father and married into Japan a long time ago. The hot springs are great, and breakfast is delicious. We had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

This hotel has a very traditional, old-fashioned feel. We arrived at Lake Kawaguchiko around 11 PM, so we had to take a taxi to the hotel. We rang the bell at the front desk, and a staff member, wearing traditional wooden clogs, came out. They barely understood English but were very dedicated. They escorted us to our room, meticulously explaining each facility, and even gestured to show us where breakfast would be served. If you want a lake view, I recommend booking a Japanese-style room. We booked a Western-style room, which was on the other side, and in the morning, we saw smoke rising from chimneys outside – a charming, everyday scene. We didn't see any bears, but surprisingly, we spotted monkeys! Breakfast was a set meal, though eating fish so early in the morning took some getting used to. The morning shuttle can take you to Lake Kawaguchiko. For the return trip in the afternoon, the shuttle only picks up after 3 PM. Alternatively, you can take the Red Line bus to a jewelry museum (I can't recall the exact stop) and walk a few steps from there. On weekend evenings, you can watch fireworks from across the river, right outside the hotel. They launch them from both the left and right sides. If you want a closer view, follow the crowd to the left for about 10 minutes.

The bathroom was a bit cramped, though. The sink was too close to the tatami mat, which made it awkward to wash up and water easily splashed onto the floor. However, the onsen service was fantastic – that's why we chose this place! There are two baths, so you can switch between them, and the water was very clean. It's also quite convenient for seeing Mt. Fuji in pink the next day, about a 7-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge.

2nd time visiting this place as they have a great private onsen with view of Mt Fuji. Although we arrived late at night, they already had onsen booked for us without us having to ask. Loved staying in the Japanese styled room first time and loved it again second time. Will definitely come back - excellent location where it's nice and quiet and close to the lake and park! Also, very romantic place to stay with great hospitality from the owner who also has a great dining hall for wonderful conversations and local cuisine!

We were so impressed when we checked in around 6pm—Mt. Fuji was perfectly clear! The reception staff were very thoughtful, explaining the onsen, activities, and double-checking our booking. They even guided us to the camping site and let us fill bottles with Mt. Fuji’s pure mineral water—so welcoming. Breakfast and BBQ dinner were excellent, with fresh ingredients and tasty meat. The staff were very helpful during the night-time BBQ—amazing service! The private toilet, shower, and onsen were very clean. Convenient location near a supermarket, and we even saw Mt. Fuji again when checking out. We’ll definitely come back!

It is a hotel with a retro atmosphere in Showa. The room was too large for 3 people. The staff was kind and very satisfied. It's a historic building, but it's cleaned properly. The futon was also fuzzy. The hot springs were also effective and recovered from fatigue. I thought it would be popular in an inn that feels the bubble era if I renewed a little. Thank you 😊

Approximately 11 min walk from the station which isn’t too bad. However, it might be quite a walk if you have 2 big luggages. Booked a private room on the 2nd floor and thankfully the staff (male) helped us carry our bags up the stairs. The shower was well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and lots of hot water and good pressure. Walls are rather thin so you can hear people walking up and down the stairs or even opening their bags. Hotel view was amazing from the room

Warm and cozy place to recharge yourself after a visit in the Kawaguchiko area. All amenities and facilities are just perfectly clean and easily accessible, while they are keeping some of the Japanese customs which adds more elements in your stay. Host and staff were extremely friendly and attentive, just right by your side whenever you need them. Deffo recommend without reservation if you’re visiting Kawaguchiko soon.

It is a really elegant and well-located hotel. I loved the breakfast which was extremely varied and well catered for. There are 2 onsen, both with a view of FujiSan on the outside. If you don't have a car, there is a free shuttle bus available every day to take you down to the village at various times. You will also be picked up at the bus stop on arrival. Friendly and well mannered person. High-quality service

GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints. Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one. It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.

수비니버스Service staff were efficient, although queueing to trade your keys for your shoes slowed things down. (Understandable, because this is also a day-trip onsen, so the hotel needs to ensure all tabs are covered before letting guests go.) Facilities were old but well-maintained, although my room window couldn't be closed without force. Wide variety of baths to choose from, and convenient hours. Note that there is no shampoo, conditioner or body soap in guestrooms, as this is an onsen facility - all soaps and bath amenities are provided in the onsen area. Several onsite restaurants providing many food options, which made up for the lack of vegetarian-friendly options around the area.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was exceptionally spacious with a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was large and well-appointed. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor onsen, which was both relaxing and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Glamping Villa. The Pao villa was beautifully spacious for the four of us. The staff truly made the experience exceptional; their care and flexibility for our late check-in, including preparing a superb BBQ dinner at a late hour, were outstanding. If we could suggest one small enhancement, it would be to extend checkout to 11 AM or noon.
