We stayed at Toyosu-tei. The private open-air bath offered a unique experience: despite it being winter and quite cold, our bodies remained toasty warm in the water, yet the towel on our heads actually froze – quite an experience! The views were beautiful. There's also an excellent yakiniku restaurant conveniently located nearby with delicious food.
It was my first time in hokkaido. I originally booked first 2 nights for staying in sapporo before I go to another city. And then came back to sapporo to stay here for last one night in hokkaido. Staff were friendly and helpful. I asked them for keeping my luggage at the day I leave to another city so I can travel freely, and they didn’t hesitate to help me.
But what impressed me the most was that I experienced an earthquake while staying here. The hotel has excellent guest care. The staff are kind and helped open the restaurant and provided drinks while guests waited for security checks. And the next day when the train to another city was suspended due to the earthquake, I walked back to the hotel feeling hopeless at 7:00AM. I decided to book the room for an extra night and I told staff about my bad situation. And then surprisingly, without asking, they hurry check condition of the room and allow me to rest early before check-in time.
I booked 2 different types of room and they are both comfy, very clean, and clearly well-maintained. I really like the scent of shower gel and liquid hand soap (I guess it’s the brand POLA. I see many hotels in Japan use this brand. Love it!)
Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Had a very comfortable three-night stay. The hotel is conveniently located just across a small street from Nakajima-Koen Station's Exit 3 (which has an escalator going up). The room was quiet with large windows offering a great view. All disposable amenities were well-stocked, and the hairdryer was powerful and very effective. During check-in, the staff greeted us with incredible warmth and friendliness. Our luggage was brought up to our room door on a trolley. Throughout our stay, whenever they saw us returning, they would help us with the elevator. Upon check-out, they thanked us for staying and bid us farewell. If we opted out of daily room cleaning, they would hang a bag of drinks on our doorknob – these little details really enhanced our experience. I hope we can stay here again on our next visit!
Extremely close to Hakodate JR Station, just 100 meters from the exit. The room size was perfect, and from the window, I could see the sea and mountains in the distance. While the hotel facilities aren't new, they are clean and comfortable, which is a major plus. It's very convenient to walk to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses, Hachiman-zaka Slope, and Mount Hakodate from the hotel, taking about fifteen minutes. The hotel breakfast was excellent, with fresh salmon and sweet shrimp, allowing you to make your own seafood donburi. There's also a Merring coffee machine. Downstairs, there's a large drugstore, but since I was heading to Osaka next, I didn't stock up there. It snowed for two days in Hakodate, and the Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the sea, set against the fireworks, was perfectly romantic 💯
Great location, very close to JR, and you can even walk to most attractions. On the way from JR to the hotel, you pass through a morning market where you can get really affordable crab. The room offers direct sea views, which is beautiful. The hotel's hot spring bath is a bit small, though.
The hotel is very comfortable, perfect for a relaxing getaway. It's located right inside the scenic area, so you could even just buy a ticket to the hot springs without staying overnight. Picture 7 shows the ticket prices. The buffet dinner and breakfast are about a 3.4-star standard – not amazing, but you'll definitely get your fill. Just don't set your expectations too high for the seafood dinner, and you won't be disappointed.
This hotel is known for hosting the famous people and is centrally located in Sapporo, which was the main reason we booked our stay. However, the front desk experience was disappointing. The staff member who checked us in was very unfriendly and unprofessional—there was no greeting, no introduction to the hotel facilities, and no basic hospitality. He simply took our passports, made copies, handed us the room keys, and said nothing else. It genuinely felt like checking into a Motel 6, which was very surprising and disappointing for a hotel of this reputation.
On a positive note, other staff members were friendly and helped us with our luggage.
One thing that impresses me was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staffs. The moment you enter the lobby, they are ready to assist you, no matter what matters you have: whether it is checking in, asking for directions, or even recommendations where to have dinner! Check in was smooth and view from the hotel room is great. Breakfast is at 35F, and if you wakes up early, you will have a chance to catch the sunrise! Variety of food is great and everything is tasty! Overall, a comfortable stay!
Last but not the least, this hotel is just located next to Sapporo Station!
This is our second time staying here and this time was better than the first time. We ate dinner here as well and the dinner was not as expensive as I expected. The hotel gave us a 20% discount for dinner. We went to the onsen. Everything went well. A little expensive, but the breakfast was worth it, although you have to wait 30 minutes to enter the breakfast restaurant. The room was super clean. Sone staff don’t speak English.

AAnonymous UserI love the Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo; it's a peaceful oasis in a lively area, and everything about it was excellent. It's just a 15-minute walk to Tanukikoji shopping street, making the daily round trip a pleasant stroll. The breakfast spread was generous and offered a wide variety of choices. My son is young but quite tall for his age, and he sometimes worries about being questioned about his age; here, they thoughtfully provided children's meal cards. Our suite was incredibly spacious, and having two separate bathrooms was incredibly convenient. The overall decor was also lovely. We consistently opt for eco-friendly practices by not requesting frequent linen changes at hotels worldwide, and here, they even offered afternoon tea and snacks as an extra incentive for doing so.

Welcome puddings were very yummy and yet the buffet in there was very insipid. Frankly speaking, the only two good foods there are sashimi and rice, what a shame.
Others: Very close to the lake, 1-2 minutes walk; a large and cozy lobby with good jazz music from an antique JBL sound system; live music performance every night; lots of books; fireplace and roasted marshmallows; lovely shop on the 3rd floor (prized reasonably). All is well except the buffet. Did not try the Japanese one (needs to book and pay a lot) hence a bit regretted.

The room size was decent, and there's a communal water dispenser, plus you can boil water in your room. The onsen (hot spring) bath is quite unique with its yellowish-brown water, and the outdoor bath is excellent. Another highlight is the second-floor common area, which features information about Hakodate's historical sites. It's a great spot for friends to gather for tea or to relax after a hot spring soak. There's even an outdoor heater. Breakfast offers a good selection of seafood, and despite being busy, it was well-organized.

Located just a pleasant 20-minute drive from Otaru Station, the hotel is nestled in a tranquil, private area that feels like stepping into a captivating wonderland. I was delighted to discover a bus stop right across from the hotel, making it effortlessly convenient to explore the surroundings.
From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly by name, and they were incredibly helpful with our luggage. Taking off our shoes upon entering the hotel created a feeling of comfort and cleanliness that made us feel right at home. After a smooth check-in process, during which they confirmed our breakfast time, the staff graciously guided us through the hotel, sharing helpful information about opening hours for various amenities.
Our room was beautifully adorned in traditional Japanese style, complete with an open-air bath. Enjoying this serene experience during the winter was simply magical! We also savored a delectable Kaiseki dinner in our room, which was not only a feast for our taste buds but also left us delightfully satisfied.
The onsens were a real highlight, featuring an adjacent sauna. With daily alternating access for women and men every other day, we were able to enjoy both during our stay. Families will find this hotel exceptionally accommodating, thanks to its variety of playrooms and relaxation spaces catering to guests of all ages. Plus, the complimentary refreshments and bar in the lobby until 10 PM added a lovely touch to our experience.
Breakfast was a true delight, with a peaceful view of the snow outside the restaurant, enhancing the serene atmosphere.
On our departure day, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to take us to the JR station, making our exit seamless and convenient.
Looking back, our only regret is that we stayed just one night—I can't wait to return and immerse myself in a different season's beauty. This hotel is now firmly on my list for future visits, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure!

I didn't have time to enjoy them due to a tight schedule, but I'll definitely check them out next time I stay. MM236470****The facilities are quite old, and for the price, there's no lake view, just a street view that's not aesthetically pleasing at all. There are no facilities for families with children. The first floor is full of shops, which feels very commercialized.
Most importantly, there are too many rules, and the staff are inflexible. Check-in time is rigid, they start clearing up before the mealtime is even over, and you have to move your car out of the parking lot by 11:30 AM after check-out. It doesn't feel like they're willing to make any concessions for guests.

GGuest UserThe Windsor Hotel at Toya may boast its status as a premier 5-star luxury destination and its historic role as host of the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, but our recent stay fell far short of expectations.
Despite the grandeur of the location and its breathtaking views, the service quality was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. English communication was inconsistent and below the standard expected at an international luxury property. Housekeeping was careless—leaving a used cleaning towel on the bed after daily room service, which is simply unacceptable.
When I drove to the main entrance to pick up my family, I was abruptly asked to leave immediately, even though only a few cars were present. This lack of hospitality was jarring. Additionally, being charged for extra bottled water—something even 3-star hotels offer complimentary—felt petty and out of touch with luxury norms.
The most troubling experience came during checkout. Two of our international credit cards failed to process, and although we successfully paid with a third, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. We were met with a sour expression and the word “FINALLY” once the transaction went through—an unacceptable remark that left a lasting negative impression.
While the hotel’s setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall service and treatment we received did not reflect the standards of a true 5-star experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both staff training and guest relations.

While the facilities are a bit dated, the service is excellent, and it offers great value for money. The breakfast was exceptionally good with a wide variety of options; the salmon, beef, ham, and desserts were particularly outstanding. I initially chose this hotel based on online recommendations. Its location is also fantastic, being very close to Nakajima Park subway station – Exit 3 is just a convenient 300-meter walk away. Additionally, the hotel lobby provides complimentary coffee, red wine, and other beverages. Highly recommend! 👍
GGuest UserRoom quite small even though they indicated 20msq. No space to put luggage, have to put on chair. Hotel indicated provided bicycle rental but when I check with them , they say only in summer time. Ask me to go Furano station to rent bicycles. But the bed is very comfortable.
