For self-drivers, the location is excellent with convenient parking. There are large supermarkets and currency exchange points right next to and behind the hotel. The dining options nearby offer better value for money compared to the old town.
I didn't have high expectations, but it actually exceeded them a bit. The room was well-proportioned and neatly arranged, and it was very clean.
The only downside was that breakfast was too simple, overly simple. It was mostly decorative with not much substantial food to eat.
Checking in at the Green Mountain Indigo Hotel was incredibly relaxing! Its prime mountain location offered a cool and pleasant escape from the heat. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with stylish decor incorporating local elements. The food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and generous portions, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The viewpoint was within walking distance, and the surrounding area was convenient for sightseeing and hiking. Cleanliness was impeccable, the bedding was comfortable and sleep-inducing, and the facilities were well-maintained. It was a fantastic family vacation experience, tranquil and relaxing, with excellent value for money. Booking through Ctrip was super convenient, and I would definitely book again!
A little far from the city, but the hotel is still big. It is a historical hotel. It is unnecessary to compare it with international stars. The room is spacious. The bed is a little small. The other environment is actually very beautiful. It is a good choice in the local area.
A magnificent stay at The View. It’s definitely an adventure to get to the hotel through bumpy roads however the location is absolutely breathtaking. For those looking for sublime views after a day of canyoning and adventuring around Jebel Shams. You will not regret your stay. The hotel itself is very well equipped and the food options are diverse especially in the evening when a buffet is available. The staff is so welcoming and helpful, we appreciate especially Richard’s (Manager) help throughout our stay. On top of it all, if you don’t mind a cold swim - one of the most beautiful pools I have ever seen !
Our stay at Anantara was okay but nothing more. To start with something positive, the staff was really friendly and attentive which was great! Breakfast was outstanding as well and the architecture od the hotel was beautiful. Other things, however, were simply not good enough for the price you pay. Firstly, no one was at the entrance to greet us when we arrived with our car. We had to find the parking and get back to the hotel ourselves which is definitely not standard for a 5-star hotel. At check-in, they just assumed that my name (Alexandra) is a male name and didn‘t even talk to me, just to my partner. I would expect for them to get that this is a female name or just ask who uf us this is. The welcome was overall very hectic, the guy who showed us to our room was friendly, but extremely stressed and rushed. There are no showers at the pool which is not very hygenic. In the evening at the bar, they served the red wine way too warm. Also, you never, ever serve 250ml of wine all in one glass. In the same bar, they played really loud party music which was such a pity and quite inappropriate and somehow destroyed the ambiance. How about some discreet music such as jazz, classical music etc. which fits the vibe of the scenery/mood way better? Moving on to our room, the shelf in the shower where you can put your shampoo bottles was broken and losely fixed. Overall, a lot of things were not 5-star hotel like and disappointed us. If you pay $700 for one night, you can expect more. We would not visit again.
We recently stayed at this hotel and were truly impressed by nearly every aspect of our visit. The rooms were spotless and spacious, the amenities were excellent, and the service from the staff was warm and welcoming throughout. The hotel’s location is ideal, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful details that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
However, we did experience a significant issue during our stay that affected our overall comfort. We had booked a deluxe room, which had a connecting door to another deluxe room, Unfortunately, the door was not soundproof, and on one of the nights, guests in the adjacent room were extremely loud throughout the night. The noise came straight through the connecting door, and it was so disruptive that my family and I barely slept.
What made the situation more difficult was how it was handled. We reported the problem to the hotel, but instead of addressing the disturbance at its source, we were asked to move to another room — despite not being at fault. This created unnecessary inconvenience and discomfort for us, especially with children.
Additionally, I would strongly recommend that the hotel ensures these doors are properly locked by default, as we noticed they could be easily opened, which can be dangerous when children are present.
In summary, while the hotel truly excels in quality, service, and experience overall, I hope management seriously considers improving sound insulation between connected rooms and revising their approach to conflict resolution to ensure all guests enjoy a restful stay.
It can be seen that the hotel is a bit old, but the service is very good, the facilities can also be seen to be constantly updated, the pool is very comfortable, very holiday atmosphere, it is recommended
This hotel should be the best hotel I have stayed in Oman. The room is very big and the view is not ordinary. The hotel built on the edge of the cliff, you can watch the sunrise and sunset, very beautiful. The breakfast was also very good, and the service staff were very nice and helpful. Regarding the service of the hotel, the view is impeccable. The only thing to note is: if you are driving by yourself, you must drive a four-wheel drive up the mountain, otherwise the police at the checkpoint at the bottom of the mountain will not let you go up the mountain. Just before I went up the mountain, I went to the car rental company to re-rent a four-wheel drive up the mountain (the local four-wheel drive rents about 30 to 50 riyals a day). If you don’t want to rent a car and drive by yourself, you can make an appointment with the hotel 48 hours in advance and let the hotel arrange a car to pick you up at the foot of the mountain, but the cost is very high, and the round-trip fare is 130 riyals. It's also worth mentioning that if you don't want to eat the hotel's dinner, you have to bring food up there, and you basically can't find a place to buy food after you go up. If you choose to dine at the hotel, basically the cheapest is about 15 riyals per person.
Excellent hotel. Located in the heart of the old city . Cosy rooms, better than on photos in the app. Breakfast is average but enough to eat. Coffee for breakfast 3v1, so we went to the nearest cafe. There is a parking.
