The hotel is opposite the ocean. I didn't like the breakfast. Something ran out, no one refilled it, tables were slow to clear after guests, and it felt chaotic. The room itself was nice and spacious. The safe was broken, so I had to call the staff. It's located on the main street.

Absolutely stunning sea view hotel! I have to rave about the dinner – it was truly excellent! Breakfast, however, wasn't quite as impressive as dinner. The service was fantastic! And the toilet paper in the bathroom was the best quality we encountered throughout our entire trip to Sri Lanka!

My wife and I stayed here during our vacation in Sri Lanka, choosing it because of the high Google ratings. The location really impressed us. The hotel is literally a step away from the beach and less than five minutes’ walk to town, which made it very convenient. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the beach and listening to the waves was easily the best part of the stay. The lobby was simple but acceptable, and there is a seafood restaurant right next to the hotel. At check-in, there was a small hiccup. I booked through Trip.com, but they couldn’t find my booking at first. After about ten minutes, they managed to sort it out and confirmed that the booking came via Agoda. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming, even offering us a drink on arrival. Our room on the second floor had a great view of the sea. The shower had good water pressure, although the bathroom could use better ventilation. The toiletries seemed diluted, so we ended up using our own. Unfortunately, the air conditioning became a real problem. It leaked so badly that the room flooded twice, soaking my shoes. Despite my request for a pail to manage the water, they initially only gave floor mats, which was very frustrating. By the time they finally sent a pail, it was too late. We barely slept that night because of the constant dripping sound. Overall, the location and friendliness of the staff were strong points, but the poor handling of the air conditioning issue really spoiled our experience.

Set a quadruple room, in fact, can live 6 or 7 people no problem 😄 The hotel is located on the edge of the lake. Since we are going to Yarra National Park to see wildlife the next morning, the store packed breakfast for us very early.

An excellent hotel, everything was up to par, and it met all expectations. Beautiful views, lots of animals—peacocks, monkeys, monitor lizards—very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing on the ocean is the large waves, so it's not always possible to swim.

This is a very large family hotel. It has wonderful, spacious rooms with magnificent sea views. The hotel is right in the heart of all the action; you step out and stroll down the lovely Unawatuna street, lined with numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops. It has its own beach access, but it's rocky. If you walk a bit further down the beach, you'll find a fantastic entry into the sea.

Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind.

Hotel heart praise The experience of staying in this honeymoon trip was directly full, and the whole process was warm and moved. I really want to praise it! The hotel is full of details, I learned that we are on a honeymoon trip, and we deliberately put the word happy marriage on the bed with leaves. The ceremony is full and very intimate. All the staff are super enthusiastic, and they will take the initiative to say hello and give courtesy to the face. The service atmosphere is particularly good. When I exercise in the gym, I consulted the yoga instructor about what exercise is suitable for shoulder pain. The coach was very enthusiastic. He specially brought essential oils for free to help me professional back massage for 15 minutes. It perfectly relieved the physical discomfort and was especially warm. The most important thing to praise our personal butler ISHANKA, is definitely the best and most reliable butler I have ever encountered during my trip! Sincere and kind, hardworking, and meticulous service. Knowing my lover's work and rest only at noon, I specially tailored our snorkeling, surfing and other itinerary. The time is relaxed and orderly, and there is no need to hurry, and the play experience is particularly comfortable. What makes us remember more is an accident: when we go out to eat, our lover is accidentally scratched by the cat, and the situation is urgent. ISHANKA helped us contact the hospital as soon as possible. At that time, the rainstorm poured and the lightning thundered outside. He accompanied us with an umbrella throughout the whole process. He communicated with the doctor smoothly. He was busy with us from 8 o'clock in the evening to 1 o'clock in the morning. The whole process was intimately appeased and followed up. Help us successfully complete the rabies vaccination in time, really special responsibility. There is also the original third day of sea fishing trip, before departure, I noticed that the sea is about to usher in a storm, for our personal safety, decisively cancel the trip temporarily.
