As one of Suzhou's renowned hotels and an attraction in itself, the Pan Pacific Hotel has clearly put a lot of thought into its environment. It has created a beautiful Suzhou garden-style landscape based on the outlines of ancient Wu Kingdom architecture, making us feel like history isn't just a display, but that we're living inside a freshly painted ink wash painting.
Wooden planks form bridges in the corridors, bamboo paintings adorn the walls, and when the wind blows, it's as if you can hear the clear ringing of ancient Wu eave bells – not noisy, yet full of sound.
The in-house restaurant offers yellow croaker noodles, which are a bit pricey, but the fish is fresh and delicious, and worth trying with the small noodles and side dishes.
The only downsides: when I called, there was a wait without an answer, and the staff training regarding the management of guests' personal belongings in the rooms needs improvement.
I highly recommend visiting the hotel's architecture; it offers a concrete experience of Suzhou's ancient江南 (Jiangnan) charm.

Stumbled upon this hotel, saw the price was good, so I booked it.
Only found out upon check-in that this is the tallest building in Wuxi. The subway station is right downstairs, and Xiao Lou Alley is just across the street. Getting around is super convenient.
The hotel's ground-floor entrance isn't very obvious; I walked around a bit before finding it and initially thought it was an office building lobby. I went in and asked, and that's when I learned the hotel's front desk is on the 43rd floor. Taking the express elevator made my ears pop a bit.
The room was great, the view was nice, and it was clean. The complimentary soft drinks from the minibar for Trip.com members and the welcome fruit from the hotel were a thoughtful touch.
I had read reviews mentioning poor soundproofing and was worried it might affect my sleep, but it turned out to be very quiet.
Check-out was also very fast; I just handed in the room card and left.
Overall, it was a very good experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

Centrally located in Xinjiekou, this hotel boasts an excellent location, making it convenient to get around and perfect for shopping! The service is incredibly attentive; Manager Fang from the VIP hotline provided professional and meticulous service with a warm and thoughtful demeanor. She was proactive and thorough throughout, always responding and following up on every detail. Before my stay, Ms. Fang noticed from my social media that I was traveling with a baby and thoughtfully left a message saying she would arrange for children's amenities. These small touches truly made me feel at home at Jinling Hotel, showcasing their high-quality service and leaving a lasting impression. The concierge was also very polite and helpful with luggage. Jinling Hotel will definitely be my top choice for future stays!

The hotel rooms are really nice and clean. They even have a tea room, a balcony, and a coffee machine! The owner and staff are incredibly warm and friendly. They went out of their way to help us, especially since we were traveling with an elderly person in a wheelchair, even coming to the parking lot to pick us up. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Guanqian Street and also very close to Pingjiang Road. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Suzhou.

My stay was fantastic! The hotel's ambiance is elegant and cozy, and the room layout is well-designed with great natural light and views of Jinji Lake and the Gate of the Orient at night. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the amenities were complete. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The service was thoughtful and attentive; the front desk staff was professional and efficient. I particularly appreciated a few small gestures: after check-in, the front desk person personally escorted me to the elevator lobby, and although the doorman couldn't make it in time to close my car door as I was leaving, he still rushed over. These might seem like minor details, and it wouldn't have mattered if they hadn't happened, but they truly show that service is their top priority, making you feel right at home. This hotel is perfect for both business trips and leisure travel. Highly recommend and would definitely return! - Dolphin Peanut

The front desk service was truly impressive. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk noticed I had an early flight and specially arranged a quiet room for me. She even thoughtfully asked if I needed a wake-up call. Every time I passed the front desk during my stay, they would smile and ask if I needed any help. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and it only took a few minutes to walk from the hotel to the terminal. Such service made me feel very warm and cared for.
I have stayed at the Courtyard Marriot Yangzhou at least three times, and I have hosted a party there. The service and hospitality is fine. There is a nice rooftop restaurant and roof access for viewing and socializing. The roms are clean and comfortable, and spacious enough.
Yangzhou is a busy tourist town, and this hotel is situated at an intersection surrounded by shopping malls. As a result, the area experiences heavy traffic and many e-scooters day and night. Another note, though less significant, is the hotel building is old. This doesn't impact comfort or services, but locals often avoid booking this hotel for VIP events, preferring more modern hotels near the convention center. My pictures posted here (with my consent) are my son on the roof and rooftop restaurant during his birthday party.
The Xuanwu Hotel is an older five-star hotel, but it doesn't feel dated at all when you walk in. The public facilities are excellent, no complaints there, though the rooms are a bit small. The service is decent, nothing exceptional but perfectly adequate. Its biggest strength is its fantastic location: close to the subway and Xuanwu Lake. Plus, you can enjoy the view from the revolving restaurant, Xuan Palace, during breakfast. I booked this for some out-of-town guests, and they were very satisfied with their stay.
🌸 A sunny March is the perfect time for flower viewing. Carrying a slight regret from our last trip and a lingering fondness for Nanxiang, we embarked on this Nanjing journey, with the Nanjing Shangri-La, of course, as our first stop.
1. **Location**: The hotel's location is superb, right next to Xinmofan Road Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to reach all major attractions. It's also very close to Xuanwu Lake, just a few minutes' walk away. Strolling along the lake, with willows swaying and flowers vying for attention – the dazzling tulips, the blooming crabapples (some green, some red), and especially that expansive cherry blossom grove. From a distance, it looked like a pink mist. A gentle spring breeze would bring a shower of cherry blossoms, petals fluttering down and scattering, softly carpeting the earth in pink. The peach blossoms were not to be outdone, white, pink, and crimson, blooming profusely on the branches, attracting countless busy little bees and adding vibrant color to the lakeside spring.
2. **Room**: We stayed in a lake-view suite again this time, and I'm grateful to the Horizon Club staff for arranging a high-floor room. The room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright, with a large living room and bedroom. The floor-to-ceiling window offered a side view of Xuanwu Lake, which was a slight pity. There was no separate walk-in closet, the luggage rack was rather high and narrow, and the bathroom toilet wasn't smart and wasn't separated, all indicating the hotel's age. However, the room service was commendable. They were always responsive, not only providing a luggage rack and a drying pole but also bringing a pot of orchids, which added color to the room. When we mentioned that the welcome dessert wasn't very good, they immediately replaced it with cherry blossom cupcakes and chocolates the next day, which was very thoughtful.
3. **Dining**: The hotel's 'Jiangnan Wok' restaurant specializes in Huaiyang cuisine and is a Black Pearl two-diamond establishment. The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, and the waitstaff are all polite. The 'Clear Broth Lion's Head' was fragrant, soft, and melted in the mouth, while the 'Huaiyang Soft Wok Eel' was silky smooth and tender, our absolute favorite. The unexpected surprise was the 'Stir-fried Beef with Brisket Fat' – the beef was tender and aromatic, with excellent wok hei. Being spice lovers, we also ordered the 'Jiangnan Wok Maoxuewang,' which was also excellent. The large chunks of eel and generous shrimp balls showed no skimping on ingredients, and the flavor definitely rivaled external Sichuan and Hunan restaurants. Personally, I found the pan-fried buns just okay. The 'Xiao Xian Rou' crispy pastry reminded me of Shanghai's fresh pork mooncakes, but felt like it lacked a bit of juice.
Breakfast at the ground-floor buffet used to impress me, but this time, the taste felt a bit off compared to before. The 'Jiangnan Wok' breakfast selection was rich, the duck blood vermicelli soup was very fresh and delicious, and the handmade soup dumplings were also good. The beef potstickers had a fragrant filling, but the crust wasn't crispy enough. The bread and pastry section had a variety of choices, but the taste felt average, especially my favorite caramel egg tart, whose crust was soft, almost as if it had been microwaved.
The Horizon Club breakfast is semi-buffet style, with a la carte options available. The pan-fried salmon was exquisite and delicious, and the duck blood vermicelli soup was generously portioned and very fresh. The restaurant's bread station even had a small toaster, allowing guests to heat their own bread, which was a thoughtful touch. However, I felt the standard had declined compared to before; the Eggs Benedict were solid, the beef in the Nanjing beef noodles was tough, and the steamed buns in the steamer were sometimes not hot, affecting the taste. Although the happy hour offerings were quite rich, the taste was average. Even more unbelievable, we found plastic wrap in the food – this shouldn't happen at a Shangri-La brand hotel. Nevertheless, the service attitude of the staff, whether in the ground-floor restaurant or the Horizon Club, was still very attentive and enthusiastic.
I also encountered an unprecedented issue at the gym. For two consecutive days, I was stopped at the entrance because the staff said my room card and room number didn't match. Later, the duty manager likely issued a new room card, but it canceled my previously noted late check-out, causing me to be unable to enter on check-out day, which was quite embarrassing. Although the gym operates 24/7 with room card access, the restroom is shared with the pool, and it's unavailable after staff leave at 11 PM, which is inconvenient for guests who come to work out late.
In summary, this stay brought me both joy and sorrow. I hope the hotel can strengthen its training and management to reach new heights and become a landmark of Nanjing, a place one thinks of when Nanjing is mentioned!
First off, I have to acknowledge that the night view from the InterContinental's high-floor 'Cloud' night-view rooms is truly beautiful. The in-room facilities are a little dated, but that's understandable for an older, established hotel.
What I really want to complain about is the breakfast. The breakfast itself isn't bad; there's a good variety and the taste is acceptable. However, on a Sunday morning, heading down for breakfast just after 10:00 AM, I actually had to queue to get in. I can understand a crowd, and guests are usually fine with waiting, but what did the staff member at the entrance who was scanning cards mean by asking if I minded sharing a table with others? Do guests staying at the InterContinental, who presumably value a certain standard of living, normally want to share a table for breakfast?
The complimentary 78th-floor 'Cloud' afternoon tea was also very mediocre. It only offered very ordinary coffee drinks and a perfunctory, unappetizing strawberry cake that couldn't be swapped. Even bringing an extra friend didn't allow for an additional cake. The coffee shop didn't even have milk or creamer pods. Plus, when we first arrived on the 78th floor, the hostess seemed completely spaced out and looked very surprised to see us. If it's a cloudy day, there's nothing to see from the 'Cloud' panoramic restaurant on the 78th floor anyway – I guess that's just bad luck on my part.
I think it's time for the InterContinental to improve its service standards.

AAnonymous UserHotel is very close to 石路 metro (Exit 12). It is situated on the 石路步行街 surrounded by restaurants and eateries, luckin coffee, Starbucks and KFC etc.
Walkable distance to 七里山塘景区 and bus stop is also close by with direct bus to take us to attractions like 狮子林, 拙政园, 苏州博物馆 and 观前街 etc. 盒马 supermarket is situated in 苏州万象天地. From 石路 metro Exit 12, just walk straight across to Exit 1 and you will reach the shopping mall.
The room is spacious and clean. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Bathroom is clean and spacious with strong shower pressure. The only issue is the shower temperature is not consistent as it may change from your desired temperature to sudden high heat then shift to chill mode before returning back to your desired temperature. That said, the stay is still comfortable with drawing factors such as accessible to transport, food, coffee, bakery and shopping but still away from the hustle and bustle, unpleasant smell or noise to have a restful sleep.

GGuest UserWhen we arrived, the dam had been repaired, and we could see the beautiful view of Tianmu Lake from the hotel door. The hotel housekeeper contacted us in advance, and we stayed in the private soup room and gave us fish head vouchers. For other dishes, we ordered black rice and The small bamboo shoots are quite delicious when cooked, and the experience is still very good!
GGuest UserFood: Breakfast was varied, with western, asian and local. We had Dinner at the main buiding using ******* set menu and it was a good deal, as the 2 person deal is enough to feed 4 and tasted quite delicious.
Location: it is a resort so you are going to spend most of the time on the resort ground. We booked 3 day 2 night and the time was enough to explore everything. Nice scenery.
Amenities: only a few activities were covered in our package so it will depend on your package. The package was confusing and we didnt know exactly all the activities that were free or cost extra. The reception on check in should have explained all of this upon check in, but maybe they are not trained, or maybe because our accomadation at pinecone is considered 4 star so they used lower quality staff. All the free stuff are a bit lame and service was poor except for the craft lady who actually showed us a wechat app for the hotel where free activity voucher can be found. They outsourced the activity area so that is really poor decision as it hurts the brand image due to service levels. For hotel staff, thumbs up to the shuttle ladies, who you call to get from one place to another. They are prompt and speedy.
Service: check in staff was professional but not warm. As mentioned, the activity area is outsourced so most staff are cold and seemed rude, except for the craft lady who was actually decent. But considering this resort and the type of guest, i would consider this really bad.
Cleaniness: the room is very clean, a bit worn (see pics of wall), but it feels quite clean.

DD0971****As other online reviews mentioned, don't expect much from the service here.
1. Usually, hotels have a butler escort you to your room and explain things, or at least wait at the door. On our check-in day, we arrived at our room to find the door open. A staff member in plain clothes suddenly emerged from the room, startling us. But that's a minor detail.
2. The public hot spring (gongtang) operating hours are 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM. However, when we went at 9:30 PM, after showering, ready to soak, we were told the 'golden' spring (jintang) was already being cleaned and we couldn't use it. Why couldn't anyone warn us when we entered or while we were showering? They started cleaning a full hour before closing, and there were 3-4 other guests in the women's bath at the time; everyone just looked at each other in disbelief.
3. On Tuesday, before checking out, I wanted to have one last soak, so I woke up early. But when I entered the women's changing room, all the lights were off (the locker access card still worked, so the access control wasn't off, and there were no 'closed' signs at the entrance). I had to call the front desk myself to find out it was closed on Tuesdays. No one mentioned this to us during check-in or at any other time, and it wasn't in the check-in guide. So, we woke up early for nothing. The front desk said it was mentioned on Ctrip (it was, but in tiny font about seven or eight pages down).
There were also no compensation measures. When we checked out, there were even other guests who had driven over specifically for the hot springs, only to be told it was closed that day. They also made a wasted trip, so the unclear signage is definitely not an isolated incident.
Other than that, the value for money is quite good, and the private hot spring (sitang) fees are reasonable, though the private springs only offer the 'silver' spring (yintang).
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful Chinese New Year holiday at this hotel. The decorations were perfect for taking photos, and the service was thoughtful and warm. The security guard at the entrance even kindly told us about the shuttle bus to the ancient town and gave lollipops to the kids! The lantern show at Daguan Garden was absolutely stunning at night. Since there weren't many people, the kids had a blast running around the corridors. The complimentary travel photoshoot was great value for money, though posed shots aren't really suitable for young children, especially with two of them – props to the photographer for his patience! 😂 The Chinese New Year activities in the lobby were very entertaining. The indoor and outdoor kids' play areas, though not huge, kept the little ones occupied for a while. The heated pool's water was a bit cool, which could be improved. Overall, it's a great resort for families with both elderly parents and young children, and I noticed a surprisingly high number of seniors among the guests! 😝
GGuest UserThe environment is beautiful, but the service details and humanistic care need improvement.
Our overall stay this time was a mixed bag. Let's start with the positives: the hotel's environment is indeed very beautiful. Both the decor of the public areas and the surrounding landscape made us feel comfortable and relaxed, living up to the Hilton brand's consistent style and standards. As a family traveling, especially with elderly parents, we initially had high hopes for this stay.
However, a series of issues that emerged during our stay truly detracted from the experience, mainly in the following areas:
1. **Room not cleaned on time**
We arrived around 3 PM for check-in, but one of our rooms wasn't ready until 5 PM. During this time, our two elderly parents had to sit and wait in another room for nearly two hours, unable to rest. The hotel didn't proactively offer any solutions or provide updates on the delay. We had to inquire multiple times to understand the situation. We understand that occupancy is high during the Spring Festival, but if 3 PM check-in is set, then cleaning schedules should be managed accordingly.
2. **External door lockout issue**
Another room shared an external door with the adjacent room, and this door was repeatedly locked, leaving our elderly parents locked out for nearly half an hour. The door also lacked a doorbell, making it impossible to contact anyone inside in an emergency. This not only affected the experience but also exposed security management flaws. The hotel only offered an explanation and no proactive solution; it was only at our strong insistence that temporary measures were taken.
3. **Wooden door splinters caused injury**
The wooden door in the villa had splinters, which pricked two of our guests. While not serious, it indicates a lack of meticulous routine facility inspection, failing to detect and address such minor hazards promptly.
4. **Lagging buggy service response**
In the evening, there was only one person responsible for the buggy service, leading to long waiting times for guests. When we communicated with the staff, we could sense their helplessness, clearly indicating issues with staffing or scheduling.
All these issues were detailed in writing and feedback was provided to the hotel manager after check-out, but to date, we have not received any response. This 'zero-feedback' approach is even more disappointing than the problems themselves, making one feel that the hotel doesn't genuinely value the guest experience. We hope the hotel can truly consider things from the guests' perspective, especially taking into account the special needs of elderly guests, strengthen staff training, and optimize service procedures so that future guests can enjoy a more reassuring and comfortable stay.
NNikenvxiaI had a very satisfying trip. Banyan Tree is my favorite among resort hotels, on par with Aman.
I've admired Banyan Tree ever since I started researching it for a university paper.
After booking the hotel, they proactively created a WeChat group for us, where questions were answered quickly. They even reminded us about the park entrance, provided the QR code, and advised us to bring our own swimsuits for the hot springs.
The hotel is located within the Garden Expo Park, quite far from Nanjing city center, but it's quiet and less crowded.
The entire hotel was designed by the renowned CCD. Every angle is worth savoring; the integration of architecture, environment, and the mine is exquisite. Due to limited space, they tried to ensure every room offers a view of Jinling's sunset.
Upon check-in, we received a cute tortoise, and this time it was a reusable bag, which is more practical than a sandbag.
The manager is also very talented, with excellent calligraphy skills. Banyan Tree truly has hidden gems among its staff.
The hotel has diffusers everywhere, each with a unique scent. The sandalwood on Friday was tranquil, while the 'Night Queen' on Saturday was sweeter and more suitable for a holiday.
Our room was spacious, and the bathtub was huge. The minibar offered a wide variety of soft drinks, and the coffee was also good.
The semi-open balcony was fantastic. Opening the curtains, you could enjoy a private hot spring bath in your swimsuit, watching the sunset and beautiful scenery. However, the weather these days makes it a bit chilly.
The restaurant isn't large, but the breakfast was very abundant. Before coming, I saw many reviews complaining about breakfast, but my actual experience found it to be very rich. Everything you could think of was there, plus Nanjing specialties like noodles and duck blood vermicelli. The stir-fries, freshly made wontons, freshly squeezed juices, various cheeses, and high-quality ice cream were all excellent! The entire restaurant was filled with food. (I don't understand those who criticized the breakfast; perhaps they expected a full Manchu-Han imperial feast after paying a few thousand yuan for the room. But how much can one person eat? It wasn't uncommon to see tables with untouched food after people left... Wasting ten or even a hundred times the amount of food for a little extra for oneself isn't exactly what the hotel advocates for environmental protection, is it? While hotels need to meet customer demands, unconditional compromise is another issue. Even overseas five-star hotels offer a similar range of food. In modern times, who really lacks a bite to eat...?)
The staff's attitude was excellent. Both the front desk and other hotel staff smiled and greeted us (they were perhaps a bit too enthusiastic for an introverted person like me, haha, maybe they'd received negative reviews about their attitude before, I sympathize). When we entered the elevator, a cleaning staff member immediately exited, waited for us to go in, and then we realized she was originally going to another floor but chose not to share the elevator with us. This shows excellent hotel training. For me, an ideal resort hotel appears only when needed to meet customer demands, and otherwise isn't overly enthusiastic. It feels comfortable, just like being at home.
The public hot springs are divided into indoor and outdoor sections. On Friday evening, it was almost like having the place to ourselves, completely empty. I tried every part, inside and out; it was very comfortable and relaxing. The temperature, in the teens (Celsius), wasn't cold, and the starlight combined with the hotel's soft, warm lighting created a very pleasant ambiance.
The next morning, I went downstairs to see the hotel's black swans. As soon as I approached, they all swam over, making 'goo goo goo' sounds, so enthusiastic, haha! Unfortunately, we didn't have food to feed them, so they swam away after a short while.
The stream and the small island opposite, combined with the V-shaped bridge, offer a view of winding architecture and flowing water to the west, with four little cuties below.
Upon checkout, we received a scented stone diffuser as a souvenir; the lemon scent was very refreshing.
I love it here. It's so comfortable when it's not too crowded on weekdays or Fridays.
