The motel was in a good location.
All of Whitianga's restaurants and a cinema were within walking distance.
Unfortunately, no air conditioning.
The room was very large with a separate bedroom and living room. There was an additional bed in the living room. However, the bedroom only had a small window, which I found very odd.
The small kitchen was quite practical.
Facilities: We stayed in a stand-alone cabin, which was fully equipped with a private bathroom, induction cooktop, oven, etc., but it was a bit dated.
Hygiene: The hygiene was just so-so, and there was a strong cooking smell in the room.
Environment: There's a communal kitchen, shared bathrooms, and a paid hot spring center (guests get a discount).
Service: We didn't really use any services; late arrivals check themselves in.
This historic hotel, while having somewhat outdated facilities and no phone charging stations, boasts excellent service and food 👍. A nine-hole golf course is right in front, free for hotel guests. Just inside the forest are the hotel's three hot spring pools, each with a different temperature! After a relaxing soak, you can enjoy a wonderful night's sleep!
We had a wonderful, quiet & undisturbed stay at the Anglers Lodge. The place is tranquil and was not crowded, so we really enjoyed the spacious grounds of the Lodge. The communal kitchen and bathroom facilities were super clean. Overall very well maintained. The pool and games room were much fun for the children. We did fishing at the bay right outside the Lodge. There is minimum 15-20min drive out from the Lodge to Coromandel and the Peninsula.
Reception was wonderfully nice, and she could converse with me in two out of her three languages. Amazing.
Clean and tidy well run place. Very comfortable in ”my little trailor” which reminded me of Sapelo Island Georgia.
The location is great, right by the lake. The landlord was also very nice and upgraded our room right away. Check-out was at 10 o'clock, but we were more than an hour late and didn't mind!
It's a small resort with a nice environment. The only downside is that there's no elevator for the second-floor rooms, so you have to carry your luggage up. On the bright side, the second floor offers a great view of the snow-capped mountains. There aren't many supermarkets nearby, so you'll need to go to the city for groceries. However, there's a pretty good restaurant just across the street. Overall, I highly recommend it; it's clean and hygienic, which is a big plus.
This motel is located a very short drive from great restaurants and large grocery stores. The grounds and pool are immaculate, very friendly staff everywhere. Rooms are spotless and our deck was large with a table and 2 chairs. Lower floors have covered patios. Very nice! We would stay here again.
Really enjoyed the quiet location and the spacious rooms. The staff at the desk have us rooms next to our family which was great to hang out together and we were just up the hill from the big pool. This place is great for kids with the playground and tennis and basketball courts. Thanks for a great stay
Dave and George the cutie were lovely, we managed to get our laundry done here which was a lifesaver after so many other bnbs don't offer that facility, and even saw 2 pigs, a deer and goat at the adjacent farm!
We were amazed by the level of customer service, amenities provided and the cleanliness. We were so happy there, didn’t need to think of anything - everything needed was provided. And thermal pools are just perfect located just couple of minutes away from the chalet we were staying at. Highly recommend!
Had a great stay here! The place was clean and tidy, and the location was really handy. Kids loved having the pool to cool off in and the spa pool was just perfect. BBQ area was very clean. Happy returning customers.
A good first stop over for our campervan trip as it is 1hr away from auckland airport. We checked in after opening hours (they close pretty early) but we could easily find our way and the check in instructions were clear and easy. Plenty of flies attracted to light at the campsite. Our camper was filled with flies and spent a long time chasing them away. So do be careful when turning on the lights when moving in and out of the camper.
