Cascades Lakefront Motel

The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but it has a kitchen which is a plus for cooking. The main advantage of this hotel is its location right by Lake Taupo, offering great surrounding views. Watching the sunset over the lake is truly beautiful. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The room facilities are quite old. The main issue was the air freshener in the room; it made my chest feel tight at night and I only found the switch in the middle of the night. The exterior environment is decent, but the interior really needs improvement.

The room was clean and spacious, and it came with a dedicated parking spot.

The motel is in a good location, right by Lake Taupo, with a nice sunset view. The hotel rooms are exquisite and compact, and are really small but well-equipped, with a small refrigerator, microwave, electric stove, etc. The car is parked right at the door of the room, which is very convenient. There are two shortcomings. First, there are too few electrical sockets, which seems to be a common problem in old hotels in New Zealand, with few sockets; second, the hygiene needs to be improved. The big spider web in the corner above the bed in our room has not been cleaned.

The room is upstairs and very spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, electric stove, pots and pans. It's a bit old, but it's no problem to cook a simple meal. It's very convenient to walk downstairs and reach Lake Taupo.
