The room was fantastic – really spacious and spotless, and the automatic blackout curtains were a godsend. Every time I came back, the room smelled lovely. The shower and toilet were separate, and there was plenty of hot water. Even though it's in a busy area, it was pretty quiet with the windows closed. The air conditioning worked well too, cooling down the room quickly. The staff were all very welcoming, and breakfast was good. They even offered temporary umbrellas, which was a really thoughtful touch. The laundry room looked nice, but I didn't use it. It's great for tourism, but there's no desk in the room, so if you need to work, you'd have to move the coffee table to find a power outlet for your laptop. Overall, I'd give it 100 points! Directly across from the hotel is Coco Tea, which was super convenient when I was hot or thirsty. Taxis were easy to find, but the subway station (Yangyuxiang) was about a 10-minute walk. The hotel is also very close to Lingering Garden and MixC World.

Right next to the Suzhou Museum, it's just a short walk across the street from Exit 3 of Suzhou Museum Station on the metro. The photos are of the hotel's public areas, which are in an old mansion. It's not a huge place, but the atmosphere is very elegant, and the service is excellent. The room matched the pictures, and the washer-dryer combo was super convenient. Even the disposable slippers were good quality. The butler service was very attentive; they delivered water quickly every time we asked. The TV remote in the family room wasn't the best, but it wasn't a big deal, and the butler responded promptly when we mentioned it. We received complimentary welcome fruit and afternoon tea upon arrival, and a small gift when we checked out. We didn't get a chance to try the Hanfu experience due to time constraints, so we'll save that for next time!

My stay at the Wuxi Taihu Hotel was truly captivating. This state guesthouse-style garden hotel, blending historical charm with natural serenity, offers an excellent overall experience, rich in local character, and is definitely a worthwhile choice for any visit to Wuxi.
The hotel is situated on the former site of Jiangnan University, imbuing it with a profound cultural heritage. Its stately manor-like architecture immediately envelops you in a rich atmosphere. The interior design seamlessly merges Nanyang, European, and Chinese styles, creating a harmonious and engaging aesthetic without any discord. The most striking feature is the bright and airy atrium, where several towering palm trees are particularly eye-catching, forming a distinctive and memorable focal point. The hotel also subtly incorporates magnolia motifs throughout, from elegantly shaped magnolia chandeliers and intricate magnolia patterns on the floors to unique magnolia gift boxes in the rooms. These thoughtful details enhance the overall ambiance.
The backyard is another gem, incredibly spacious and filled with lush greenery, complemented by wide, manicured lawns. Strolling through it after a meal, with a gentle breeze rustling through the foliage, fills you with a sense of vitality. This leisurely walk helps shed travel fatigue, allowing you to fully appreciate the unique tranquility and peace of Jiangnan. Furthermore, the hotel boasts an exceptional location, close to Wuxi's main attractions like Meiyuan Garden, Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, and Huishan Ancient Town, making travel and sightseeing incredibly convenient, whether by car or for short excursions.
Although the hotel has been open and renovated for some time, its hardware maintenance far exceeded expectations. Both guest rooms and public areas are well-maintained, showing no signs of age. The hotel's swimming pool deserves special mention; its surrounding scenery, natural light, and optimal water temperature are all perfectly controlled, offering both comfortable swimming and beautiful views outside the window – an absolutely superb experience.
Regarding dining, the Jichangxuan Chinese restaurant was a delightful surprise! I initially worried that the local cuisine, being on the sweeter side, might not suit my palate. However, after tasting, I found every dish to be exquisite, with perfectly balanced flavors that completely dispelled my concerns about sweet food. My taste buds were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast, on the other hand, met the standard of a state guesthouse – reliable and satisfying, suitable for everyday dining needs.
Overall, the hygiene was excellent. The entire hotel was clean and tidy. The carpeted guest rooms were spotless, free from any stains or odors, and the balcony was remarkably clean with almost no dust accumulation. The only minor drawback was that some of the ponds in the backyard were neglected, with algae covering the surface and cloudy water. If these could be properly cleaned and maintained, the overall scenery would be even more impressive.
In conclusion, the Wuxi Taihu Hotel, as a distinctive local state guesthouse, combines the poetic tranquility of a Jiangnan garden with a refined, multi-styled elegance. Its well-maintained facilities, commendable service, and dining make it an excellent choice. The few minor flaws do not detract from the overall stay. For those visiting Wuxi who desire a peaceful and elegant travel experience, this hotel is definitely worth staying at.

This hotel is nestled in an alley in Laomendong, right opposite the popular Pioneer Bookstore, which is a great location. The only downside is that it's 1.5 km from the metro station, but we took taxis everywhere, so it wasn't a big deal for us. We originally booked a tatami room, but only found out upon arrival that it was on the B2 level. It had a musty smell, was damp, and poorly ventilated, making it quite uncomfortable. We paid an extra 1000 RMB to switch to a room on the second floor, which was much better. If you're booking, definitely avoid the basement rooms. The hotel has three adorable cats! Aside from the little hiccup with the room upgrade, everything else was pretty good, even though the price doubled during the holiday.

I stayed at Anshe Hotel in Suzhou for two nights and had a great experience! The hotel is very well located in Suzhou’s historic center, within walking distance of Pingjiang Road, one of the city’s most charming areas, known for its canals, traditional houses, tea shops, restaurants, and lively atmosphere. It is also close to Guanqian Street and a metro station, making it easy to explore the city.
The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Before my arrival, I sent a message asking for recommendations on local attractions, and they responded promptly with useful suggestions.
The hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay while spending most of their time exploring Suzhou. It does not offer facilities such as a restaurant, spa, or gym, but that was not an issue for me given its excellent location. The room was comfortable, clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities, including bathrobes and slippers. The hotel was quiet despite being close to many attractions, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again!

Choosing Xiaohu Hotel for a family trip was an excellent decision! They provided children's picture books, so my child could read and stay entertained in the room. It's only a few minutes' walk from Wu Cheng'en's Former Residence and Hexia Ancient Town, so we took the kids to visit the birthplace of 'Journey to the West,' and they were super excited. The hotel's billiards room is free to use, which was great for dad and the kids to play together and bond. Breakfast was good. I asked a staff member if I could pack two tea eggs to go, and she said yes, even reminding me to wrap them in paper because of the sauce. As someone who often travels with kids, I totally get it – kids don't always eat much at breakfast, so being able to pack something for later is really helpful. Some hotels don't allow this, so this thoughtful gesture made a great impression on me. Five-star rating!

Perfect location, lovely hosts, beautiful room with vintage furniture and super soft blanket! Very authentic. During the day time it’s super loud because of the amount of tourists, but staying in this place gives you unique opportunity to explain the town in the very early morning or very late evening (the lights switch off at 23:00).
The room can seem small, but it’s old town, it can’t be different:)
Unfortunately there was no tea provided, that’s sad for tea-famous country, maybe should be improved. Other than that – my stay was amazing☺️

This homestay left a deep impression on me. The environment is clean and tidy, the room is spotless, and the stay is very safe. There is an elegant teahouse in the public area, and there is a small tea in the afternoon, which has a special flavor. The boss is particularly enthusiastic, not only taking the initiative to help parking, but also enthusiastically introducing the surrounding attractions, so that the journey feels warm. The overall experience far exceeds expectations and is a recommended choice for staying.

This is a great Republic of China-era hotel, tucked away in a quiet spot yet still central. The courtyard is very unique, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's about 800 meters from popular attractions like Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Xing Street – all within easy reach. There are also plenty of dining options; the famous Erchun Fried Rice is right next door, and old brands like Fuchun Teahouse, Maopailou, and Gonghechun are all nearby. It's incredibly convenient for an after-dinner stroll. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Located at the entrance of a small alley, it's wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. If time permits, brewing a pot of tea and sitting in the courtyard to soak in the 'slow Yangzhou' vibe would be truly delightful!

Seriously can't praise this hotel enough! My stay here was absolutely fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; they not only upgraded my room for free but also thoughtfully arranged a late checkout until 2 PM and even gave me extra breakfast vouchers. Their service was truly attentive and thorough. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. To top it all off, the hotel even gave me a small gift when I checked out – little surprises everywhere! Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. The service was spot-on, and the experience was superb. Definitely worth recommending!

This is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to China. We lived in a separate house. It's quiet and cozy there. The air conditioner works well for heating. The hostess is very friendly and kind. When we got lost during check-in, she herself came for us. Also thanks to the man who helped us when leaving the hotel. Comfortable bathroom, good beds, spacious room. I highly recommend it!
I often come to Wuxi on business trips, and this time I chose this serviced apartment nearby. The amenities here far surpass those of a standard guesthouse. There are various dining options right downstairs, and plenty of leisure and entertainment facilities are available. My previous stays in this area at other accommodations were less than ideal – they often lacked a dedicated reception, were hard to find, and the service was subpar. This place, however, boasts a proper front desk, is easily locatable, and offers superb service – they are incredibly attentive and always ready to assist. The rooms are also impeccably clean. Highly recommended! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This hotel was really great. Room was very spacious and modern, while still feeling historic and staff was very professional. One thing I’d say is that it’s located in a like the most touristy area, which is fine, but when entering and exiting the hotel you will have to push through crowds who are trying to see the weaver in the pre lobby which was a bit annoying.
Well, what a wonderful homestay. The location is perfect being next to the famous twin bridges. There is no shortage of things to buy and see . The homestay itself is beautiful with a perfect mix of ancient architecture on the outside whilst being tastefully modern and contemporary on the inside. Every area is immaculately clean and the host /owner is wonderfully warm and friendly. No question is too much and she always recommended the best things to see and do. I will absolutly stay here many more times and I would recommend anyone who is visiting this magical town , to stay at this homestay. It was perfect 🥰 the homestay also has a resturant of the same name. And the food is amazing and authentic to the area. Some of the most delicious food I've eaten in China
What an unique experience! Nothing could be more authentic than that! Our room is on the first floor right by the water. We saw many women rowing the gondola boats and serenading beautiful songs to their passengers. We came in a low season, so there wasn’t that much crowd. We could stroll around leisurely to take in all the beautiful sights that this place offers to us. The home stay is operated by a couples. They are so friendly, kind, and always eager to help out, especially the wife (Ms. Chan). The day when we left, she helped us getting a didi ride which is more cheaper than the one we hailed ourselves. The room we stayed in is very unique, it is not super big, but it is very clean and it has everything we needed for the night. All and all, I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.
Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless. The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light. The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special. We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure
The location is superb as it’s just a few steps into the ZhouZhuang. The room is quiet and clean. The receptionist is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Very Good
Really great one! I was travelling alone, and chose the closest hotel to my destination. 1) Room. Took photos before checking out, so it is a bit messy, but actually it was awesome: clean, soft bedroom; bathroom necessities (toothbrush & paste, shampoo, body wash, towel, fan, etc), also they had a lighter and an iphone charger. Oh, and the TV too, but I didn’t use it. the only problem was that my room is on first floor and I heard the noises from the restaurant. everything else was perfect! 2) Location. near to Water Forest park (Lizhong) (about 10 min by taxi) and extremely near to rapeseed fields (about 10 minutes on foot!), 15-20 minutes by taxi (or by bus, but I didn’t try it) to Xinghua. the only problem was the fact that the nearest restaurant is the restaurant in the hotel and there is only one little shop near. 4) Services. Excellent! Very kind, always willing to help you. For example, I came there earlier than I should, but they still managed to clean and give me my room. 5) restaurant in the hotel. a bit expensive for China ( around 30-40 for one person) but very yummy. also, breakfasts are amazing! a lot of food btw, forgot to mention, but the place itself is like a village on water, very pleasant place!:) In conclusion, I would recommend to stay here. despite some difficulties, it is totally worth its price!
