Perfect location, taxi can be dropped off right in front of the hotel, and across the street from the hotel is the famous laomendong area, where you can find the amazing nanjing impression restaurant, this one is the more impressive looking space than other branches.
Professional, well organised, rooms are cleaned and tidied, water, tea, and toiletries replenished every day.
Plenty common areas to use, convenient, great value for money.

The hotel environment is really nice, and the customer service is excellent. Any questions are immediately answered by contacting the front desk or your butler. The hotel also offers a free Hanfu experience, which is a big plus! 👍 It's conveniently located near Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street, both just a 5-15 minute walk away. The subway station is also very close by.

The location is excellent, with convenient access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and transportation. Housekeeping was done well every day, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and pleasant.
I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

This is a great Republic of China-era hotel, tucked away in a quiet spot yet still central. The courtyard is very unique, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's about 800 meters from popular attractions like Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Xing Street – all within easy reach. There are also plenty of dining options; the famous Erchun Fried Rice is right next door, and old brands like Fuchun Teahouse, Maopailou, and Gonghechun are all nearby. It's incredibly convenient for an after-dinner stroll. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Located at the entrance of a small alley, it's wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. If time permits, brewing a pot of tea and sitting in the courtyard to soak in the 'slow Yangzhou' vibe would be truly delightful!

I booked a king-size room, which was very large, with a separate wet and dry bathroom and a balcony. The breakfast was rich in variety, with both Chinese and Western styles. The hotel is garden-style, and the lotus flowers are blooming beautifully in this season, making for great photos. The hotel's outdoor pool is also very beautiful, and you can experience it with your children. The hotel service is also very good, with enough mineral water in the room, and a housekeeper to greet them attentively. When I left, they also gave me a beautiful notebook. The service was very considerate and the price was very affordable. It is worth staying here next time.
The disposable toilet seat cover was already torn open, and there were no bath towels (I don't remember if the hotel had any environmental protection notes), thankfully I brought my own. After two days and one night, we went back around 7 am after having dim sum, only to find we had to re-enter our room card. Climbing up and down the stairs was tiring, and we had to wait at the front desk for quite a while. There was no one at the front desk to ring a bell to alert us or to display an emergency contact number. Also, the room required climbing stairs, which wasn't clearly indicated on the booking page, making it unfriendly to people with knee problems. Soundproofing was average.
The biggest advantage is its very quiet location amidst the hustle and bustle. Everything is just over a kilometer away, easily accessible by walking through the streets and alleys, perfect for someone like me who likes to stroll around the alleys to digest food. The coffee shop next door, Banshe, is pretty good, but a bit pricey.

Walking through an alley, I arrived at the Jin Changmen Hotel. Further in, I found the Licheng Hotel. The hotel's exterior is antique and the environment is beautiful.
When checking in, I asked if I could add a crib, and surprisingly, they could! The whole process was very quick, with almost no waiting.
I booked a suite in a separate building, which I looked up and found has a long history called Qiushi Fanhua Mansion, built during the Republic of China era.
The room was very nice, clean, and tidy. I would book this hotel again next time I travel.
The breakfast was just so-so.

What an unique experience! Nothing could be more authentic than that! Our room is on the first floor right by the water. We saw many women rowing the gondola boats and serenading beautiful songs to their passengers. We came in a low season, so there wasn’t that much crowd. We could stroll around leisurely to take in all the beautiful sights that this place offers to us. The home stay is operated by a couples. They are so friendly, kind, and always eager to help out, especially the wife (Ms. Chan). The day when we left, she helped us getting a didi ride which is more cheaper than the one we hailed ourselves. The room we stayed in is very unique, it is not super big, but it is very clean and it has everything we needed for the night. All and all, I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

As a highly-regarded option in the old city, this hotel boasts a perfect location – easily accessible and close to attractions, making sightseeing and dining a breeze. Though not large, it's full of character, with rooms resembling townhouses and preserving the classic landscape of the original Zhuhui Hotel. The courtyard is imbued with Southern Chinese charm; the hotel itself feels like a miniature garden park, with every corner picturesque, perfect for capturing ink wash painting-like photos. It's a stunning fusion of classical garden artistry and modern aesthetics, ideal for both portrait and landscape photography.
As an InterContinental member, Amber thoughtfully contacted me in advance and arranged a south-facing courtyard room on the ground floor, which was both considerate and respectful. The hairdryer was a Dyson, and the kettle a De'Longhi, adding a business-chic touch. The hotel also proactively offers all guests a 'Happy Hour' and a complimentary minibar. Happy Hour is held at the Zhuhui 168 Bar, a traditional Chinese pavilion building surrounded by water on three sides, embracing the Zhuhui waterscape and the beauty of all four seasons. In the evening, nestled under red maples, it offers a uniquely mellow atmosphere. They serve a good selection of drinks and snacks.
Breakfast was an even bigger surprise! Freshly opened young coconuts were incredibly refreshing. While the variety of dishes wasn't extensive, the quality was exceptionally high, with flavors that even rivaled the Ritz-Carlton Suzhou. This hotel seamlessly blends convenience, warmth, and quality – it's absolutely worth choosing!
The hotel has a beautiful environment. Boating on the lotus pond and entering the room units felt like stepping into a uniquely charming setting. The family suite, designed with two floors, was a perfect match for our needs. In addition, the hotel’s service was excellent—shuttle cars were available on call. The lobby manager, Mr. Liu, was courteous and friendly, which left a particularly deep impression on me.
One thing I really appreciated was that each guest is assigned a dedicated butler who communicates one-on-one via WeChat. It’s very convenient—you can treat them as your personal assistant throughout the stay. Whatever request you have, just let them know and they will help take care of it. My butler was Lisa, and she was very helpful and responsive.
One area for improvement is that there were quite a few mosquitoes 🦟 inside the room. My daughter was bitten all over and is still suffering. We had to buy topical medication today to treat the bites. If the hotel could kindly remind guests in advance about the mosquito situation, we might have come prepared and avoided the bites altogether.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this stay.

GGallleyaThis is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to China. We lived in a separate house. It's quiet and cozy there. The air conditioner works well for heating.
The hostess is very friendly and kind. When we got lost during check-in, she herself came for us. Also thanks to the man who helped us when leaving the hotel.
Comfortable bathroom, good beds, spacious room. I highly recommend it!
GGuest UserBecause it was too late to decide to travel, the room booked was small and remote. The boss was very nice and enthusiastic. I stayed for two nights and directly helped me upgrade one of the bowls of parent-child rooms. There were quilt sheets on the stairs, indicating that I had to change every day. It was very clean. Breakfast had milk, porridge, corn, sweet potatoes. Tea eggs, there is dinner in the evening, we ate for one night, the fish is longer than half of the brother 😄

HHannahThis is such a lovely little homestay! We struggled to find the entrance since Tencent Maps sent us a street over, but after adding them on WeChat they sent us a pin right away and helped us make it (see photo!). The room was clean, well-air-conditioned, well thought out, and we had so much fun with the Japanese toilet!
My chinese is limited to basic conversation only but staff were friendly and the lady at the desk on the day we checked out showed us her newborn kittens! Super super happy all round with this stay!
Note to other guests:
- Taxis will have to drop you a few streets away as much of the old town's streets are too narrow for cars.
- The entrance is right on the canal, not round a corner.
- The door is open at all times, so don't worry if you're back late!

3320218****I saw pictures of this guesthouse's beautiful courtyard online, and it was just as lovely in person. I really adored their cat; the owner said it's their mascot. It was super affectionate and stayed on me for a long time, not standoffish at all. I slept very well and left early in the morning to visit the scenic area, which I explored for three hours. The owner let me park my car in the free parking lot and even offered a shuttle service, which was very convenient.
SSCTan (Malaysia)Our stay at Zhouzhuang Zen Yili was absolutely wonderful—a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience!
Taxi can dropped us off within 1 minute walking distance away from Zen Yili. Zhouzhuang ancient village entrance is just a few minutes walk from Zen Yili making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and activities. The peaceful surroundings of the homestay also added to the relaxing vibe.
The hosts, both husband and wife were exceptionally kind and gave us great local tips. They provided us more than enough fresh fruits, tea, biscuits and mineral water. I was surprised also that the room was with full mosquitoes nettings with even anti mosquitoes device provided if needed. During our stay the homestay and its surroundings ware without mosquitoes.
The room was spotless, with fresh linens and a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom was of five star standard for its fittings, and was very well-maintained.
Before we checked out, we were given delicious homemade biscuits out of their hospitality. They also arranged for us a reliable and comfortable pickup after checked out.
For the price, this homestay offered excellent value.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to couples, families, or solo travelers looking for a peaceful retreat in Zhouzhuang ancient village.

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful 2 nights in this family-run hotel. The host was extremely kind, friendly and helpful; he made us feel completely at home, and even gave us two delicious homemade ‘lard cakes’ to take with us because we’d enjoyed them so much at breakfast one morning!
The rooms are lovely - spacious, very light, bright and private. Really nice interior design. Ours was on the top floor with a roof top deck and great views over the lake and village.
The bed was very comfortable with fresh, clean linen and towels. There’s a kettle on the room but you need to bring your own tea or coffee. That said, tea and hot water were available 24-hours a day downstairs.
The meals in the hotel restaurant were delicious and fresh; they’re cooked onsite with ingredients that are caught or grown on the island, and are very good value. We ate breakfast (included) both mornings and dinner on our first night.
We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again if we came back.
The main thing to note is that the host (and very few people on the island) speak English, so having some Chinese definitely helps! But we felt very welcome at all times, even when our language skills reached their limits!
GGhost Traveller(I am Korean) I have never seen a Korean in Tongli, but I am leaving this for those who might come here.
I cannot speak Korean to the owner, but I was kindly guided through a translator. Just sitting in the beautifully decorated garden and the old-fashioned hall made me feel at ease. The room is so pretty that an hour passes by just taking pictures in the room. The interior is decorated with traditional furniture and has a modern bathroom, so it is very comfortable. You can think of it as a facility that was renovated from a regular house into a hotel. It feels like a '**old house' in Korea. And the location is also on the main street of Tongli-gujeon. When you go out, it is a picture.
However, to enter Tongli-gujeon, you have to pay 20,000 won (discount if you make a reservation at least one day in advance) even if you have a reservation at the hotel inside. I was surprised because I did not know this, but it was worth paying 20,000 won to stay there. That is because if you stay in the accommodation inside Tongli-gujeon, you can feel the 'night' of Tongli-gujeon.
There are many tourists during the day, but at night it becomes quiet and the night view unfolds. It is a scenery that people who come for a day trip would never know. Seeing young Chinese couples taking pretty pictures and walking hand in hand, I thought that this might be the most romantic place in Suzhou.
Make lots of memories~~
__WeChat359335****I happened to be there on a business trip recently, and I decided to go to the beach for a while. I looked for a few on the Internet, because I have stayed in B&Bs before, and I felt that the price/performance ratio was better than that of a hotel, so I chose one. It was unexpectedly good, and the room layout was very good. It's very cozy, it's very clean, and it's very quiet when you sleep at night. Especially when you're in a bad mood, you come here to relax, and you'll come here to play when you have time.
