Pet Friendly Hotels in Jiangsu, China

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

The guesthouse is placed in the middle of Suzhou ancient city, in a picturesque and silent street. The house is very beautiful, the furniture are elegant, there is also a smart toilet and disposable items. Unfortunately there were not bath towels but paper ones. There was no front desk at all, even if specified in the property description. We arrived at 13 (frontdesk time 8-19) but nobody was there and we didn't receive anything on the trip.com chat. When we called the property, they answered us only in Chinese and then sent us a weChat Qr code. They wrote us only in Chinese even if we were texting them in English. Fortunately weChat has a translation service, otherwise it would have been impossible for us to understand what to do. They gave then information about how to reach the property (even if we were already there) and gave us an access code that we were not able to use, since we didn't know the most important thing: the room number. Furthermore the access code changed anytime we go out (they said it's a problem related to non-chinese people) and was quite annoying to write them all the time on we chat. The room is very good though!

Traveling to Shantang Street with my good friends and our kids, I was getting a headache trying to find a hotel. Luckily, we ended up staying at this hotel right inside the scenic area. The garden-style landscaping is absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. We could easily pop back to the hotel for a rest whenever we got tired. 😄 Our room had one king bed and one twin bed, and the best part is that they were movable, so we could push them together – fulfilling the kids' wish to sleep together! ❤️ The hotel's bathtub was huge; even though we only stayed one night, the kids took two baths and had a blast. The air conditioning was also incredibly powerful, which was an absolute lifesaver in this scorching summer heat!!! The hotel even provided afternoon tea, which, paired with the lotus flowers we bought in the scenic area, made for some fantastic photos – we took dozens, haha. It's especially great for a getaway with your girlfriends because the room has a two-sided mirror, so you can do your makeup together. 😄 The breakfast was delicious and served as a set meal with exquisite presentation. Kids' breakfasts are even complimentary! On top of that, you can feed the fish at the hotel, which the kids absolutely loved, hahaha. Next time we visit Suzhou, we will definitely stay at Zhu again. This summer trip was too hot and rushed; only staying one night was a bit of a shame. P.S. The staff were super nice. Before check-in, they thoughtfully informed us about various convenient transportation options and the hotel's Wi-Fi. All our small requests were met quickly and efficiently. The staff even helped us carry our luggage upstairs, and when we asked the front desk for bottled water, they generously gave us several bottles at once. Truly amazing!

Staying at the Kimpton Zhuhui Hotel Suzhou, I was deeply impressed by the canal views right outside the hotel. The hotel seamlessly blends traditional Suzhou gardens into its architecture, with tranquil courtyards featuring flowing water, rockeries, bamboo, and flowers. Small bridges arch over ponds, creating picturesque scenes at every turn – the ambiance is absolutely perfect. Strolling through the courtyard at leisure, listening to the water, and admiring the pavilion reflections felt like stepping into a Jiangnan ink painting; it's incredibly photogenic. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, with soft bedding and thoughtful details everywhere. The minibar is also fully stocked. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to visit Pingjiang Road and Guanqian Street. A special thanks to Mila for her attentive and thoughtful service. Before and after check-in, she proactively introduced the hotel's garden highlights and provided helpful travel tips. She was always prompt in responding to any questions, making the communication experience very pleasant. All hotel staff were warm and welcoming, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth. Breakfast offered a rich variety, with authentic and delicious Suzhou-style noodles. Whether for a leisure vacation or a business trip, this is an excellent choice. Having a tranquil garden amidst the bustling ancient city offers a perfect experience. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou. I wholeheartedly recommend Kimpton Zhuhui Hotel Suzhou!

A hotel with a very good experience Although the hotel was opened in 2011, the rooms are very good in terms of performance and facilities, which brings convenience to people🙋. Because it was before New Year's Eve and I wanted to decorate the room, I called the front desk and added a girl who was working that day on WeChat. Miss Shi Limin was very willing to help us decorate and could provide us with balloons. After hearing this, we were very happy 🥳 Before we The room type we booked did not have a lake view, but Miss Shi Limin was very considerate and helped us upgrade the room! ! ! Touched, like it very much. will come again next time. The hotel is very neat and clean, and the turndown service is particularly good. There are welcome fruits and some snacks. The real world has added this young lady (Miss Shi Limin at the front desk), she is really considerate! I woke up in the morning after checking out today and wanted to take a bath🛀 but there was no hot water! I called the front desk three times but no specific notice was given about the availability of hot water. Then I bothered Ms. Shi Limin again. She said she hadn't gone to work yet, so she would make a call first to help with the matter, and then she would send me a message within ten minutes. He said that because the hotel was full yesterday and there was no hot water supply, he could apply for a later check-out and I could take a hot shower. Okay, I was moved again. The receptionist called me later. It was Miss Shi Limin who came to work and called me to apologize. They also applied for a hand-warmer cup for us because of the hot water. I used to work in a hotel, and I feel that Ms. Shi Limin's service is really good. Within her limited ability, she makes customers feel at home, which is commendable. She is very responsible and patient. Encourage me, your efforts and persistence will become your own shining point 👍 Very considerate to solve the problem for us.

Had a really enjoyable stay at Mulan Huayue Hotel during our visit to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town. The service was exceptional from start to finis. When we arrived, the staff came to pick us up from the admission gate and helped carry our luggage to the hotel, which was especially helpful since the old town streets can be a bit tricky with bags. We arrived before check-in time, and since the rooms were ready, the owner let us look at the available rooms and choose the one we preferred based on the view. It was a small gesture, but it made us feel very welcome. The location is also excellent. Since the hotel is located inside the ancient town itself, we could simply step outside and start exploring the canals, bridges, and old streets without needing any additional transport. It was especially nice to wander around early in the morning and at night when there were fewer crowds. The hotel also has two super cute cats that were always hanging around and made the place feel even more homely. We tried the hotel's restaurant and were impressed by the food. Our favorite dish was the 酸菜肉丝炒芦苇根, which was delicious and something we hadn't tried before. The food was slightly on the salty side for our taste, but overall we enjoyed everything we ordered. When it was time to head to our next hotel in Suzhou, the owner helped arrange a car for us (150 RMB). The driver was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information along the way, which made the journey much more enjoyable. Another thing I appreciated was how attentive the owner was. When we ran out of drinking water, she personally brought three more bottles to our room without us having to ask multiple times. Overall, this was one of those places where you can really feel the warmth and hospitality of the owner. It made our stay in Zhouzhuang much more memorable, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This little traditional inn was absolutely delightful 1 night stay and the host family could not have been more kind and helpful. The owner helped us get our bags to and from the inn as everything in this area is pedestrianised and no vehicle is available for transporting luggage. You must register for entrance into the historical zone at the main office before you try to enter the security gates by showing your ID as is the case with all things in China. Don't let this put you off. Smoking indoors is common so ask for smoke free treatment. Highly recommended.

Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless. The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light. The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special. We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure

This guesthouse is really great! It has its own unique charm, the surroundings are beautiful, and it's super clean and tidy. A shuttle picked us up right at the parking lot, and it's only about a hundred meters from the scenic area entrance, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant, and the dishes are exquisitely prepared and taste amazing. Highly, highly recommend! 👍👍👍
