Pet Friendly Hotels in Jiangsu, China

Location and amenities were great but only one big issue I really can't swallow. For the two days that I went out and clicked on the Do Not Disturb tab, both days my room was entered and cleaned up. I called the front desk to clarify if that was routine - the cleaners entering the room even if the DND button was up - and the reply was ”如果旅客不需要打扫卫生可以跟前台说一声我们再通知保洁 (If travellers doesnt require a room makeup, they can inform the front desk and we will inform the cleaners” which I asked then what's the point of installing the DND button and make up room button separately. I am pissed because I trusted that no one was going to enter the room and technically, supposedly could be in contact with my belongings as had my luggage was unpacked and lying around. Now that they breached this trust and while nothing was missing, who can possibly assure that no one touched my things or had strangers entering the room in the process. I will avoid staying here in the future and choose another place that doesn't require me to go that extra step of pressing the DND button AND informing the front desk, which is pure ridiculous.

This was my first time visiting Suzhou, and after a lot of comparison, I chose this hotel. It exceeded my expectations! The subway station is right outside the entrance, making it super convenient to get around. Humble Administrator's Garden is also just a kilometer away, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. They help with luggage, and the fully automated smart features are very impressive. The robot food delivery also made me feel quite secure. Service attitude was top-notch, and the housekeeping staff were very diligent. When I returned, I found the room spotless, everything that needed changing was changed, and the floor was even mopped. Any issues were promptly resolved, leaving me with a truly great impression. I've already saved this hotel on Ctrip, and I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in Suzhou! On a side note, the steamed bun shop by the entrance is incredibly delicious. I really loved their buns, and the lady who runs it is also super nice! 🥰

Choosing the right hotel for a trip to Suzhou is so important! Andu is tucked away in the heart of the old city of Gusu, super close to Shantang Street and Guanqian Street on foot, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. The location is great, and the service is attentive. The lobby is elegant and stylish, and the rooms have excellent natural light; you can open the window and feel the vibrant atmosphere of the old city. The bedding is so comfortable that I had a wonderful night's sleep. The front desk proactively provided travel tips, and the complimentary pick-up service was incredibly thoughtful. The public area's book bar is fantastic for photos, and it's both clean and reassuring. You can relax and unwind, or easily check out the local attractions. This is a must-stay when visiting Suzhou!

This is a great Republic of China-era hotel, tucked away in a quiet spot yet still central. The courtyard is very unique, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's about 800 meters from popular attractions like Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Xing Street – all within easy reach. There are also plenty of dining options; the famous Erchun Fried Rice is right next door, and old brands like Fuchun Teahouse, Maopailou, and Gonghechun are all nearby. It's incredibly convenient for an after-dinner stroll. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Located at the entrance of a small alley, it's wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. If time permits, brewing a pot of tea and sitting in the courtyard to soak in the 'slow Yangzhou' vibe would be truly delightful!

I booked a king-size room, which was very large, with a separate wet and dry bathroom and a balcony. The breakfast was rich in variety, with both Chinese and Western styles. The hotel is garden-style, and the lotus flowers are blooming beautifully in this season, making for great photos. The hotel's outdoor pool is also very beautiful, and you can experience it with your children. The hotel service is also very good, with enough mineral water in the room, and a housekeeper to greet them attentively. When I left, they also gave me a beautiful notebook. The service was very considerate and the price was very affordable. It is worth staying here next time.

Ambiance: Located in an old alley next to a scenic area, the environment is very quaint and picturesque, perfect for photos. Service: The ladies at the front desk were all very enthusiastic, and the cleaning staff were also very careful and meticulous.

The front desk staff were very polite, breakfast was plentiful, and the air conditioning worked great. Our room was cleaned daily and was very tidy. The hotel is very close to Shantang Street, within walking distance, and there are many local snacks and a supermarket nearby. The self-driving parking lot is also very spacious. We stayed for three nights and had a great experience; the environment was good, and it was mainly clean and comfortable.

What an unique experience! Nothing could be more authentic than that! Our room is on the first floor right by the water. We saw many women rowing the gondola boats and serenading beautiful songs to their passengers. We came in a low season, so there wasn’t that much crowd. We could stroll around leisurely to take in all the beautiful sights that this place offers to us. The home stay is operated by a couples. They are so friendly, kind, and always eager to help out, especially the wife (Ms. Chan). The day when we left, she helped us getting a didi ride which is more cheaper than the one we hailed ourselves. The room we stayed in is very unique, it is not super big, but it is very clean and it has everything we needed for the night. All and all, I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

Returning to Suzhou's old city, I checked into the Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. It absolutely deserves a five-star rating. This boutique hotel, converted from an old establishment, is a brilliant addition to the accommodation options in the old city of Gusu, and the value for money is excellent. The hotel is ideally located in a tranquil spot amidst the bustling old town, making travel incredibly convenient. After dinner, strolling through the courtyard and outer pathways was delightful; the scenery was refreshing and pleasant. The front desk and butler service were meticulous and attentive, with smiles throughout the check-in process, which was efficient and smooth. A big thank you to Amber for arranging a balcony room on the second floor. Although the space wasn't exceptionally large, the overall design was simple yet elegant, incorporating local Jiangnan elements, creating a wonderful ambiance. The room followed a 'small yet complete' concept, with all basic living facilities readily available, clear functional zoning, and a well-placed bathtub with a sliding door design that ensured excellent privacy. The bathrobe material was also very satisfying, super comfortable. Breakfast was exquisite and delicious, a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine that also offered local flavors, with a wide selection of cheeses and fresh fruits – all very much to my taste. The hotel caters to all ages, with young people taking photos and older guests leisurely chatting. While in Suzhou, one can hear the melodious Wu soft speech and Kunqu opera, admire delicate Su embroidery and Kesi silk with their fingertips – every step offers a poetic glimpse of Jiangnan. The ancient city is a tranquil haven amidst the bustle, where everyday life intertwines with artistic flair. From the meditative bells of Hanshan Temple to the warm local charm of the alleyways, traditional elegance and modern sophistication coexist perfectly here. It truly lives up to its reputation as a paradise on earth. For a holiday in Suzhou's old city, the Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel is certainly a worthy choice. Butler Amber was very thoughtful and excellent.

The hotel has a beautiful environment. Boating on the lotus pond and entering the room units felt like stepping into a uniquely charming setting. The family suite, designed with two floors, was a perfect match for our needs. In addition, the hotel’s service was excellent—shuttle cars were available on call. The lobby manager, Mr. Liu, was courteous and friendly, which left a particularly deep impression on me. One thing I really appreciated was that each guest is assigned a dedicated butler who communicates one-on-one via WeChat. It’s very convenient—you can treat them as your personal assistant throughout the stay. Whatever request you have, just let them know and they will help take care of it. My butler was Lisa, and she was very helpful and responsive. One area for improvement is that there were quite a few mosquitoes 🦟 inside the room. My daughter was bitten all over and is still suffering. We had to buy topical medication today to treat the bites. If the hotel could kindly remind guests in advance about the mosquito situation, we might have come prepared and avoided the bites altogether. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this stay.
