I stayed there with my parents. The futon were so good. Big and soft. The room also good. Location is perfect. Lawson is near by. Breakfast is everything. Bathroom amenity is the best. ** tattoos person not allow to use public onsen but they do provided private onsen (with charge) that need the book in advance.

Lovely stay at this hotel. The onsen was so nice to soak in at the end of a long day of hiking. The breakfast spread was delicious with a large Japanese spread and a small western spread. I really enjoy the local food specialities that they had available for breakfast like soba with grated mountain yam, peanut miso grilled on a leaf, rice Dango with a peanut sauce, and warabi mochi.

This hotel is a GEM. About 6 minutes walk from Takayama station and you will come across lots of shops along the way. Service is fantastic with free welcome drink, popsicles at the 7th floor, access to onsens and there is washing machines in the hotel. Breakfast buffet is our highlight with delicious spread of Japanese breakfast and western varieties as well!

Onyado Yuinsho was located about 27 mins walk up the hill from shirakawa go bus terminal. It is possible to walk there as it’s a quiet path along the road pavement and a lot of scenery to see. But it’s not advisable unless you miss the 1st shuttle bus to hotel at 3pm. Reason is due to the bears signboards located along the road indicating possible bear attacks. The shuttle bus service is good at scheduled timing available at their website. Service, food and facilities are top notch. I love their attention to details. I will highly recommended you include breakfast and dinner in hotel as the eatery are all about 20 mins walk away and lighting outside hotel is poor at night. The onsen is a must try with different types of cold, hot water, fountain, sit down, indoor and outdoor. The whole hotel is carpeted so schools are not allowed. Overall I love the unique experience and their attention to details.

The room had a very Japanese feel. The hotel's toiletries were amazing, I even wanted to buy them myself! There are three types of hot springs available to experience, both indoor and outdoor. We tried them all in rotation, and they were all great. The location is excellent, just a few hundred meters from the train station, easily reachable on foot. You absolutely have to take a stroll around the area in the morning; it's like a wonderland.

Good location, near to the beautifully preserved Edo-period streets of Sanmachi Suji, and the historic Takayama Jinya. We also experienced the peaceful Higashiyama Walking Course. and had the opportunity In the morning, to feel the local vibes at the Miyagawa Morning Market. The hotel has an onsen and the staff are friendly and helpful. We are also fortunate to experience snow during our stay.

Ryokan is perfectly located not far from bus station. Cozy rooms, amazing kaiseki dinner and very special breakfast BUT If anything is needed - nobody will bring it to your room number (i.e. towel, spoon, fork), you could get it only at reception, which is far from hotel wings. Also on the day of leaving after hiking in montains I was not allowed to visit public onsen while collecting my baggage. The reason - I came later than ”check-out time” - it costs nothing to the hotel, but the mood was ruined. I paid almost 600usd for a night and was expecting definitely another level of service.

Stayed here for one night and the location was perfect. Literally right next to Takayama Station, and since the whole town is walkable, its not too far to walk to the morning market. Rooms were very decent, and the fact that there is a washer/dryer right within your room makes it so much easier to do laundry. The breakfast is just average though by japanese standards though.

YYinglunfengThis hotel is super convenient, just a three-minute walk from both JR and the Nohi Bus Station. If you're heading towards Shin-Hotaka, you can catch the bus right outside Kokubunji Temple, which is only a one-minute walk away. Just be aware that the buses can get full during peak times. We stayed in a suite, which was very spacious, and the bathroom was excellent. We were really happy with our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again. The only minor downside was that the toothbrush provided was a bit too stiff.

CCircledropStayed January 2-3, 2026 First and foremost, the SPA/onsen is really good! Dipping yourself in the bath while the snow hits you during the night feels good as well. Glad I visited since the hotel will undergo a renovation/rebranding this year 2026. ======== Stay information I availed: Standard japanese room (Non-Smoking) 6th-floor, mountain-side, near elevator ======== Reception: 5/5 The hotel staff at the reception is so accommodating, kind, and friendly. They will answer your concerns as well whether in japanese or english. (I do use japanese for ease of conversation but you can converse in english with no problems). Their reception picks up the local call (ext22) fast as well from the room if you have concerns. Room: 4/5 (I swear I can give 5 if only they got outlets for use..) If you got heavy or many baggages, they do offer a cart! This is really good since you can bring your baggages much easier. As for the room, since I availed the japanese room, it comes with the standard genkan, a powder/sink area, a bathroom, and the tatami-floored room. I highly suggest the rooms at the 6th floor since you got direct access to SPA wing / Onsen connection without waiting or using the elevator. The futon is simply very comfy and soft, the pillow got that hardness you may like, no foul or smelly odors as well. But the best part of the room? The view! The room i got has the mountain side, so I got the alps/mountain view. During the night and morning, I was greeted as well with a sunny heavy snow day. It truly became a majestic white world in a single night. As someone with multiple gadgets, i could’ve wished for more outlets (the room only had 2, one is used for the lamp and the other is behind the television). I suggest bringing a space extension cord. Bath/onsen: 5/5 おすすめ! The bath. It’s fantastic. The 7th floor onsen and the 5th floor onsen of the spa wing switches the allowed gender daily, due to this, overnight or 2 days or above occupants may be able to enjoy both! (For Example, on day 1 [7F: ladies, 5F: gents], then on day 2 [7F: gents, 5F: ladies]) The layout is almost the same, but the 7th floor got the better highlight as it is the roof top = higher ceiling, more open air bath. Please do follow the general/common etiquette of bathing at a onsen in japan! Do so and you may elevate your japanese way of bathing experience. - no photography - public bathing, other people may see you naked - strictly no tattoos! Wanna hit the onsen? There are many ways to enjoy it, but the general rule is to never soil dirty the bath, for bathing steps, follow the following pattern: 1. shower/clean yourself 2. Put your squeezed, not-dripping onsen towel at your head without touching the water, dip on the onsen for few minutes until your shoulders (indoor) (Optional) Rinse yourself with mild-colder water in shower 3. Go out to the open-air onsen and try the different type of baths! 4. Stay-safe and enjoy! (Know your limits! Do finish your bathing if you already feel lightheadedness or headache to prevent heat stroke) Access: 5/5 (solo on-foot traveler) They got shuttle bus from Takayama station that comes every hour, it even runs late. Don’t worry. As for the bus schedule, the hotel provides them on their website. However, since this is on outskirt of the city, you don’t have much a stroll option unless you have a car. Other activities: They got Bar and Karaoke rooms as well! Sadly they only got 2 karaoke rooms, wished I could’ve availed them early! 😣 ========= Overall, it’s a great experience! I do recommend them to others who will visit takayama to relax as well. I really wished I could’ve stayed longer!

AAnonymous UserClose to bus station, self check in/ check out, free ramen at night. Onsen was a bit confusing as a first timer as the shower is inside the onsen area and not in the changing area. Did not bother to wait for the private onsen as many couples were queuing in the public area already. Free popsicles on the way out from onsen.

DDaniuxiaoziThe 31-square-meter room was clean and bright, with a door separating the kitchen and bedroom. The bathroom and shower room were two separate spaces, which was very comfortable. It was fully equipped with a washing machine, refrigerator, pots, plates, bowls, and chopsticks. We bought Hida beef from the supermarket and cooked it ourselves. Both large supermarkets are west of the hotel; just exit the hotel, turn left, then left again, cross the railway underpass, and walk straight for 8 minutes to reach them. From the hotel balcony, looking south, you can see the Takayama Nohi Bus Center. The staff were warm and welcoming, and spoke excellent English.

설렝I chose this hotel to relax after trekking with a friend, and it made for a perfect trip! I was worried about getting around because it seemed remote, but they provided pick-up and drop-off service, so it wasn't a problem at all. The food was delicious, the room was spacious, and the hot springs were wonderful. The staff were also very friendly, which I appreciated.
