Hotel Fransiskus is a former monestary and still has a church and a seniors facility attached to the building. My room was modest in size, but the amenities were good and I enjoyed the view of the ships as well as the opening window which allowed me to enjoy the sea breeze. The young man at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

cute place, everything is very DIY, we havent't met anyone from the hotel until the next morning. apparently you get a code to open the door by email but we spoke to a few guests and none of them had received it, so you'll need to be able to make a phonecall to reach the owners to get the code to get in...

A nice, clean, American style roadside motel. The hotel is remote but convenient for travelers wishing to travel further into the Snaefells Peninsula. The breakfast was relatively varied. The coffee was very tasty. Friendly staff.

Stykkishólmur Inn is not just a hotel — it’s the largest artwork in town, where each hallway, room, and corner tells a story of something that almost happened. Our rooms are cozy, simple, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and curiosity. Whether you’re staying in a small double or a larger room, expect: Comfortable beds with quality linens Private bathrooms with modern fixtures and soft lighting Minimalist Icelandic design with occasional quirky touches Wall murals and art installations just outside your door, part of the hotel-wide exhibition of “almost-true” history Each floor features a different near-myth or unrealized dream — from UFO landings to peace summits. The public areas (lounges, hallways, stairwells) are part-gallery, part-time capsule. You’ll find: A welcoming lounge with seating and story fragments Surreal murals inspired by real ideas that nearly happened Calm, quiet, and clean rooms with personality — never clutter A feeling that your stay is part of something a little bigger Whether you're here for a night or a week, you’ll sleep inside a story. This isn’t just a hotel. It’s a map of Icelandic dreams.

Easy self-check in, which was great for us because we reached near 11pm. Beds were comfortable, heating was good. Best part was breakfast. Shared kitchen was well stocked with pans, eggs, milk, salami, oil, sauces, for cooking. Had a satisfying breakfast complete with coffee, juices and yogurt.

The location is quite convenient. The hotel is all ready when you check in, you can put your luggage, you can visit the village, the village is very small, and you saw the aurora that night.

The room's view of Chapel Hill is unbeatable! The kitchen is stocked with seasonings and all sorts of cooking and dining essentials. The front desk is open until 8 PM, so late arrivals don't need to worry – your room number and name will be posted on the front desk glass. It's quiet at night, and navigation leads you right to the spot. Definitely recommend this place!

ZZIJIANThe service attitude is a bit poor, the room is fairly large, there is a kitchen, and you can park at the door. The geographical location is relatively remote. The journey in winter has to cross the snow-capped mountains, and the driving skills must be good. In the small town, there is only one supermarket to buy things, and there is no place to play nearby.

PpynnngIt's a small house with beautiful snow all around. The facilities in the room are very complete, but the smell of cooking oil will be a bit big. The wind will be very noisy at night, slightly insufficient.

GGuest UserThe room is very open, the health is very good, the environment is small but complete! The only downside is that the sound insulation problem needs to be improved. But as a homestay, the environment is very good, although it is a long distance from the city center, parking and many nearby attractions are very convenient!
