Overall, my stay was quite good. The hotel's biggest advantage is its excellent location. It's directly across from Taipei Main Station, making it incredibly convenient for taking the MRT, High-Speed Rail, regular trains, or the airport MRT. The surrounding area is well-equipped with amenities, featuring numerous restaurants, snack stalls, and convenience stores, so finding food is a breeze. Ximending is also just about a 15-minute walk away, perfect for shopping, browsing, or trying local delicacies. Plus, the hotel is right next to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store (Taipei Station branch) and directly connected to an underground shopping mall, adding to the convenience for both shopping and getting around. As for in-room facilities, a refrigerator is provided, which is very practical. The hot water supply was stable, with sufficiently hot temperatures and strong pressure, making showers very comfortable. However, there are a few areas where the hotel could improve. The cleanliness needs a bit of work; the room carpet wasn't thoroughly cleaned, and I noticed visible dust on the headboard and walls. Also, since the hotel is located within a shared building, elevator wait times can be long during rush hour or peak tourist times. On another note, while the hotel offers washing machines and dryers, both require an extra fee. This could add to the expenses for guests planning a longer stay. All in all, if convenient transportation, surrounding facilities, and local amenities are your main considerations, this hotel is a good choice, though there's still room for improvement in terms of room cleanliness. The overall stay was pleasant and I would recommend it. ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars)

We had an absolutely wonderful and satisfying stay at Palmer Hotel! One of the first things we noticed was the beautiful, refreshing scent in the lobby and all through the hallways—it made coming back to our room feel so relaxing. The breakfast buffet was superb with a fantastic variety of food. Plus, the location is unbeatable; it's highly accessible to transportation and very close to all the top tourist spots. A perfect stay from start to finish!”

My kids love this hotel very much. It's fun and enjoy at the common area which equip with kids area with toys, kitchen with some simple kitchenware include stovw and microwave oven. Some free snack and tea for free. Some chargeable foods and drinks. Have reading area as well. Each floor have different theme and you can collect the stamp for memory too. Location is very near to Fengjia night market. Overall, it's good to stay and convenience location. Recommend to stay and will stay again if visit Taichung again in the future.

As a solo traveler, this place is actually good. Its far from the MRT Sanduo Shopping District around 10 mins walk. There's also convenient store at the front of 85 Tower. Staffs are really nice, they provide the full stuff of amenities & Toiletries such as hair dryer, coffee Tea, brush etc. If I have the opportunity, I will difinitely stay here again.

The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the overall environment was clean and tidy, making for a very relaxing stay. The front desk staff were very friendly, spoke gently and patiently, and were helpful in answering any questions, which made us feel very at ease. The soundproofing was also good; we weren't really bothered by outside noise at night, allowing us to get a good rest. The location is convenient, and the surrounding amenities are excellent. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay, and I would choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

Staff are polite and ready to assist. Easy luggage storage and check in. Room facilities are basic, but the bed is comfortable and plenty of hot water for a relaxing shower. However the showerhead was difficult to position and the tub is small so water sprayed everywhere on the floor. Free water bottles are provided. There could be more hooks installed for hanging clothes or personal toiletries. The bedsheets/pillowcases were discolored but not sure if this is related to hygiene or just the bedsheet style/color. They felt clean and didn’t find any weird objects except for some hairs on the pillowcases (the staff helped us replace them).

I love the whole vibe of the hotel where it give off this rustic industrial look but the interior of the room is really nice. Front desk was super accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room but the initial upgraded room was not to our liking and they kindly suggested another room for us to have a look first before we decide on it. we were able to check in an hour earlier as well and was able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out and return back later to collect. overall an amazing experience with SOF hotel and would definitely come back to stay when im in taichung again

This hotel, 'Hotel Day Plus' (also known as 'Taocheng Tea Culture Hotel'), is designed with a tea theme. Upon check-in, guests are greeted with a cold brew tea. Behind the front desk, various types of tea leaves and different levels of roasted teas are displayed in jars. Soft lighting combined with a subtle tea aroma creates a delicate and warm atmosphere even before entering the room. The lobby features a high ceiling and warm wooden decor, showcasing tea sets and utensils rich in tea culture elements. A few orchid potted plants add a touch of elegance. Magazines and books are available on the tables for guests to browse at their leisure, or even take back to their rooms to enjoy. Simply sitting in the lobby and soaking in the ambiance ensures you won't be bored for an hour or so. The breakfast the next day was quite lavish. Before check-in, guests can choose from four meal options and then dine at their preferred time. In addition to the freshly prepared individual dishes, the bar also offers snacks, bread, salads, fruits, and several other dishes, ensuring no guest leaves hungry. Even if a guest checks in alone, the hotel still provides two breakfasts and proactively asks if they'd like to take one to go. They don't reduce the meal portions for a double room just because there's only one person, which sets them apart from many other hotels. This genuine and polite hospitality explains why they receive so much praise from guests. Before checking out, I curiously asked the front desk staff why Chiayi is called 'Taocheng' when its old name is Zhuluo. The staff member explained, ”If you outline the boundaries of the old city area, it forms the shape of a peach.” This is the origin of the name. Wow, I unexpectedly gained historical knowledge not mentioned in books – truly worthwhile!

The room itself was pretty good overall, clean and tidy, and the location was very convenient. I'd consider staying here again in the future. However, a word of caution for those booking through Ctrip: make sure to double-check the cancellation policy! It can be a real hassle to negotiate a cancellation if it's not clearly stated. Basically, this hotel wasn't willing to offer a free cancellation in my experience, unlike another hotel that was more accommodating. This one isn't very flexible, so it's something to be aware of.

Our stay was amazing! The room was very spacious, comfortable, and super clean. Everything was well-maintained and made us feel very comfortable throughout the trip. We also got exactly the same room as advertised,the room looked exactly like the photos shown in the listing, which we really appreciated. The location is also great,walking distance to both Taipei Main Station and Ximending, which made it very convenient for us to travel around. There are also halal food places nearby, which was a big plus for Muslim travellers. Overall, highly recommended and definitely one of the best places we’ve stayed!
