It's only a three-minute walk from the train station. The breakfast is freshly made. It's simple and delicious. The service is good. The room is average. It's cost-effective. The price is not too expensive. The environment is very good. There is a stream behind

Don't believe the photographs on their website, they are originals from many years ago, and nothing like it is now. This hotel is being run into the ground. Dining area and bar are only open from 5.30 pm until 9.30 pm and only at the weekend. Breakfast not very good at all, requested scrambled egg on toast came with undercooked eggs and no toast, when questioned about this the plate was returned with the same eggs inside an unbuttered toasted sandwich. Room not cleaned during our stay, towels not changed, bed left unmade, no replacement toilet tissue ( this had to be requested) Shower cubicle had mould growing in the shower tray,. Cups in the room had not been used for such a time they had stuck themselves to the worktop. General housekeeping and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired with a thin noticeable layer of dust in the bedrooms. Only one pillow per guest available, and quite hard uncomfortable beds. Glass door panel on first floor lift lobby smashed ( not acceptable for a fire door) Outside the hotel neighbouring establishments have music/night club making noise well into the early hours (3.00am) This hotel is being run into the ground and doesn't look like it will survive much longer. Choose another hotel if staying in Neath, which, by the way is a very safe place to visit and the locals are very friendly.

Horrendous place. Looks like it’s being run into the ground. Toilet roll holder hanging off. Bath panel all cracked. No security chain on door. Television not working. Socket on wall broken. Don’t bother with breakfast, they don’t even cook it well. Chipped bowl too! I would only recommend you avoid this place!! It will soon close down at its current state!

When we arrived and saw the outside we were horrified. Fortunately, the inside was better. However, while nothing inside is awful, nothing is wonderful either. It has all the hallmarks of a place in it's death throes. To be fair, the important things - the bathroom and beds - were clean, but other areas were grubby. And things were falling apart - hooks loose in the wall, toilet roll holder falling off, wrong plug for the bath that didn't fit. 'Toiletries' was a squisher of liquid soap. Worst of all, the PAT test on the hairdryer was more than a year out of date. You get the picture. Same in the restaurant. Hottest day of the year and the aircon wasn't on, so we sweltered through a mediocre meal. Breakfast was somewhat minimalist but scraped through with an 'OK'. The bread didn't fit in the antique toaster, which had a knob missing. The hot drinks area is a challenge - Lavazza is available but you are left to figure out how to work the pouches yourself. It didn't look good when - I think she was a staff member - curled up on one of the couches and went to sleep. Shoes on the couch. Some window cleaner and elbow grease would go a long way. Sorry, we won't be rushing back.

Stayed one night at the Blue Bell and i thought the hotel was total value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable room and sound sleep. We were in a room overlooking the main road and no traffic sound issues. Breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty.

With a plethora of big name hotels in the area, you might be forgiven for not considering this place. Do so at your peril, the rooms are well decorated with all the facilities, as is the hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and all at a very reasonable price. Check it out before going elsewhere.

The 4 star rating is a joke. Where do I start! Sofas in the lobby are filthy. Guy who welcomed us on reception had his ear buds in.....not the greatest customer service. Twin beds move on castors, which do not lock. Furniture has seen better days with chips and scrapes everywhere. Bathroom was geared up for a disabled person and was therefore an accessible room but that's not what i booked. Air conditioning controls in bedroom but there was none. No toilet seat, flush was questionable, sink too low and feet couldn't touch the floor when using the toilet. I'm 5 foot 3 so average for a female and should be able to touch the ground! Breakfast was inedible. Three breakfasts ordered the same were all different. Mushrooms were slimy, bacon was burnt, eggs look plastic and clearly cooked in old oil. Sausages were horrid, looked wrinkly and were on the yellow side. I would avoid this place like the plague... not worth the money at all.
