Excellent panoramic view from Nasu highland. Surrounded by rich oak trees and fresh atmosphere. Full of local cuisine with delicious cooking. Chef will cook the dining in front of customers, immediately cooked hot dishes are extremely tasty. Morning buffet is highly recommended quality.

It takes about 50 minutes by bus from JR Kuroiso Station. If you tell the inn that you will be using the bus up to two days before the day of your stay, they will issue you a round trip ticket for 500 yen. The bus stop "Kyuka Mura" is right in front of the inn, and if you tell the front desk the time to board the bus at "Daimaru Onsen" or "Nasu Yumoto" on the way back, they will pick you up after you check out. It takes about 10 minutes by bus to the Nasu Ropeway, and there are many hiking trails and various programs for guests who require reservations. After checking in, there is a welcome drink in the lobby next to the front desk, and various amenities such as brushes are also available, so you can pick them up yourself. The room I stayed in was a twin room facing the slope on the 4th floor of the South Building, with no bath but only a toilet, and it was spacious enough for a single person to stay. The large public bath and open-air bath are located in a separate building through the corridor on the 2nd floor of the South Building, and the hot spring water is drawn from the nearby Daimaru Onsen. The indoor bath has two baths with different temperatures, and the open-air bath was just the right temperature. The restaurant is on the first floor and is buffet style. There is a time limit of about 80 minutes for dinner and about 50 minutes for breakfast. As we visited on the weekend, it was very crowded. On weekends, a mini concert is held in the lobby on the second floor after dinner. As with all hotels in Nasu Highlands, the buffet is of high quality and each dish is carefully prepared, which is great. You can also take coffee and dessert after dinner back to your room.

Very Good

We stayed with three generations of our family. Although the ski resort is nearby, it is difficult to access and I thought it might be off-season, but it was Saturday and it was full of families. We were in the South Building, but the building is quite old, so the air conditioning in the rooms is not good and it is very dry. I think it is centralized air conditioning, but it is difficult to set the temperature. The insulation of the equipment itself is good, so even if you turn off the air conditioning, you can stay without shivering from the cold. Perhaps because they are concerned about the discomfort of the room, they use Nishikawa's air mattress, but it is thin, so you feel like you are hitting the bottom, and I'm not sure if it is a positive thing. My impression of the room is not so good. I keep coming back to the Kyuka Mura group because they are safe for children, reasonably priced, and the food is satisfactory, but the buffet was fun, with events such as strawberry tasting. I guess it is a corona countermeasure, but drinks, fruits, and desserts can be taken back to the room, so it was nice to enjoy a relaxing dessert after the meal. The hot spring is probably circulated. I don't feel it is very fresh. On the website it reads like the water is drawn from Daimaru Onsen, while on-site there is a sign that reads like it's their own hot spring, but I couldn't find any information on the ingredients or testing, but the water is of a standard level for a large hotel. The water is gentle and not very irritating, so it might be a good idea to use a nearby bath like Shika no Yu as a finishing bath. Compared to the price, it's more than worth it, so if you don't mind the dryness of the room, this is a recommended inn.

In addition to the free shuttle service from JR Nasu-Shiobara Station at 14:35 (reservations required 2 days in advance), it is about 60 minutes by bus from Kuroiso Station to the "Kyuka Mura" bus stop. If you contact the hotel front desk when making a reservation, you will receive a free bus ticket for the bus departing from JR Kuroiso Station. The exterior looks like a dormitory for a corporate training facility from the Showa era, and the building itself is quite old, but the interior seems to have been renovated and is quite clean. The building is divided into the East Building and the South Building, and the restaurant is near the front desk on the first floor, and the large public bath is at the end of the corridor on the second floor of the South Building. The room I stayed in this time was a twin room on the fourth floor of the South Building where you take off your shoes before entering. Since it is on the slope side, there is no view from the window, but it has all the amenities you need. The large public bath has an open-air bath, and the water is drawn from the nearby Daimaru Onsen and comes in two temperatures, lukewarm and hot. There is also a water server and ice (only for guests) available after bathing. Dinner is served buffet style with a rotation system (17:00-18:30), and like all hotels in Nasu, the dishes are original and delicious. You can take the desserts and cups of coffee you get with dinner back to your room. Breakfast is served buffet style from 7:00-9:00, just like dinner, and offers a variety of Japanese and Western dishes. Normally, they would offer a slice of melon for free with dinner, but when I told them in advance that I don't like melon, they prepared a baumkuchen for me as a substitute when I checked out.
