Yet another amazing experience with Moonlight. If you are a culture lover like I am, this hotel is the perfect choice.
This place is a total vibe and I'm more than happy to explain why.
The air in the lobby is filled with the fragrance of freshly brewed Pu Er, with a tea station offering free tea tasting to guests.
The hotel serves scrumptious local cuisine for breakfast such as the bridge noodles, sour soup noodles, and congee. They make it fresh when you are seated at the dining area. The best part is that the breakfast is available until 1pm. So thoughtful for those who wants to sleep in. They also offer Western and Kid options.
As you walk out of the lobby, there is so much to take in. The first thing you'll see is an ancient building that takes you back in time. A group of elderly playing Chinese Chess by the tree. People walking their very well mannered fluffy dogs. All while breathing in the fresh summer air.
The location of this hotel is amazing. It's walking distance to Shun Cheng shopping mall, cafes that serve very decent Americano are just across the road, and there's a highly rated restaurant on the same street.
In the afternoon, the hotel hosts an art and craft activity. Ours was decorating a Chinese fan, absolutely therapeutic.
Experiences aside, the stay itself has been so comfortable. Spacious room, big beds, blackout curtains, you can imagine how well we slept. 10 out of 10!
The hotel's location is a huge plus; it's incredibly convenient for getting around by taxi and for shopping and dining. The surrounding amenities are also excellent. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the bathroom has a separate wet and dry area. The hot water supply is consistent, and the toiletries are high-quality. The cleaning staff are meticulous and pay great attention to detail, making for a very comfortable and reassuring stay.
Having traveled to over 20 countries, this is my first time reviewing an accommodation. When you're on the road, you often miss home. But not here! We booked the Loft, with a living room on the first floor and a bedroom on the second, it felt just like home. We enjoyed tea daily, and the hotel even provided complimentary afternoon tea. The 24-hour butler service was excellent, always available and responsive. They thoughtfully prepared a travel guide for us. The daily breakfast was a delicious mix of Chinese and Western options! We will definitely be back.

Facilities: A bit old, but generally pretty good. The bed is neither too soft nor too hard. The duvet is fine with the AC on, but it can get a bit warm without it, given Kunming's large temperature variations. There's a small garden and an outdoor hot tub, but apparently it's not usable. It's very photogenic though!
The living room and bedroom are separate, which is great for families or multiple families staying together as you can chat comfortably. There are also seating areas in the room corridors where you can relax and talk.
Being inside the scenic area, the courtyard rooms are quiet. Other room types might be a bit noisier. At midday, it can feel quite bustling outside with traffic and vendors calling out. The courtyard suites, however, are not noisy at all.
The location is in the Jinbi area, not far from Nanping Old Street. Just cross a road and walk through Nanping Hui, and you're in a commercial area. For food and drinks, there are snacks right downstairs, though not many main courses. I think the options across the street are better. The hotel breakfast is à la carte and needs to be ordered a day in advance. We tried it one day, but after that, we opted for takeout or ate out.
The hotel service is quite good. They have a butler service, and the staff's attitude is very pleasant. When we had a delay, they helped us coordinate a later checkout.
For transport, since it's within the scenic area, you'll probably need to walk a bit after getting off the car. However, you can also have your car drive to the parking lot, and there's an elevator near the exit that takes you up.
Facilities: Very comprehensive. There's a laundry room with a dryer on the 8th floor, and they even help hang up clothes to air dry after they're done!
Cleanliness: Excellent! If there was any trash, they'd come right away when I called.
Environment: Very quiet.
Service: Extremely responsive to all requests!

My overall stay exceeded expectations. The hotel boasts an elegant and clean environment, and the lobby has a great vibe. Check-in at the front desk was quick and efficient, and the staff were gentle and patient. My room had excellent natural light and was spotlessly clean inside. The bedding was incredibly soft, and I had a very peaceful night's sleep. The hot water was consistent, and the bathroom amenities were complete. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, making it easy to dine and shop. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next visit.
This place is located in a great location. There are malls just opposite which is great if you do not have plans and just want to hang around. Downstairs, there are various local food places which served good food.
The hotel itself is located in k9 apartments, right next to Novotel Hotel. The reception messaged us on Trip.com on the day of our arrival to provide us with information on how to reach the hotel & the address to set in our Didi.
As this was our last hotel before returning home, I honestly had alot of Taobao kuai di which the receptionist picked up for me patiently throughout all 3 days of our stay. I could not be more grateful esp when 1 of my package was sent to a place about 1.5km away from the hotel.
They would wechat us on a daily basis to confirm if we needed housekeeping or if we needed any amenities.
Within the room, there was a play room which my kids absolutely loved. They saw it as their private space and played inside on their own when the adults would busy. There was a washer / dryer located within the room which was so helpful. & a working fridge. We were provided with disposable coverings for the toilet bowl & bathtub and also toothbrush (including children’s toothbrush & bedroom slippers). The staircase to the loft was also safe with handrails and big enough steps to not fall / miss a step. Overall, I would definitely choose this place again if I visited Kunmin again.
I was extremely satisfied with my stay this time! Rose at the front desk was very welcoming and patient, and the check-in process was efficient. The room was spotless with an expansive view; I could admire Dianchi Lake and Xishan Mountain right from my bed. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, and the Yunnan-style rice noodles tasted authentic. The hotel environment was quiet and comfortable, and any requests were promptly addressed. Overall, the service was excellent, and the location was superb, making it very convenient for getting around and sightseeing. It's a highly recommended choice when visiting Kunming, and I will definitely stay here again!
This hotel is essentially an economy apartment hotel. From its infrastructure, room size, to amenities like the breakfast area, everything screams economy hotel, small apartment hotel standard. It definitely doesn't deserve a 'five-diamond' rating; their self-assessment is way too high. The prices are also high, leading to extremely poor value for money. For the same price, there are many better options.
Upon arrival on the first day, if it weren't for the bellhop confidently telling me this was Novotel Dianchi, I would have thought I’d gone to the wrong place, especially since there’s also a Novotel Apartment Hotel sign nearby.
Stepping into the room, its small size was immediately obvious. Being an apartment room, it couldn't possibly be large, but the cleanliness was the most disappointing aspect. There were instant noodle crumbs on the floor that hadn't been cleaned, which I accidentally stepped on and crushed further. Near the bed, there were labels left by previous guests, and more instant noodle crumbs were faintly visible on the carpet. When booking, I had no other special requests, but I specifically left a note asking for extra attention to hygiene. The day before check-in, the front desk also called to confirm, and I again emphasized the need for meticulous cleaning because I was sick in Kunming and have allergies. Yet, this was the standard of cleanliness I received, which immediately made me feel terrible. I took photos, and the front desk said they would address it promptly. After waiting for a while with no resolution, I decided to go down to the front desk to inquire. As I opened my door, I noticed the adjacent room's door was open, and a housekeeping staff member was looking around inside. I asked if I was meant to switch to that room, and they confirmed. I stepped inside and immediately spotted a transparent cap from a disposable eye drop or beauty serum on the vanity. I pointed it out to the staff member on the spot. I was speechless. I asked if they really cleaned the rooms thoroughly, if they really cleaned every room after a guest checked out – they would know best. The staff member was an older lady, an 'ayi', so I didn't press the issue further. If the first room was an accident, then this second room showed that poor hygiene was the norm. They lacked standard cleaning protocols; after guests checked out, instead of thoroughly cleaning every spot, they just looked around and picked up obvious trash. If they cleaned to a five-star hotel standard, how could there be forgotten trash? Since it was already late when I arrived and my check-in was confirmed on the platform, otherwise, at that moment, I truly would have wanted to check out.
Later, I asked the 'ayi' to re-vacuum the room's carpet. She came over with a vacuum cleaner and quickly went over it. After she finished, I personally cleaned up a lot of hair from around the bed, which clearly demonstrated that both housekeeping training and daily hygiene checks were severely lacking. I used my own disposable bath towel to re-clean the room's carpet and floor after switching rooms.
Then I wiped the headboard with tissue paper; there was dust, but not excessively dirty. It seemed like it was wiped every few days. However, you position yourselves as a five-diamond hotel; is this truly a five-diamond hygiene standard?
Sigh, because it was late and I had my child with me, I didn't want to bother anymore. I just cleaned the room myself. More importantly, changing rooms would have been pointless; the hygiene in every room was pretty much the same – whether you saw it or not, none of them were truly clean. Definitely not a five-star hygiene standard.
That evening, while washing up at the vanity, water dripped on my head, startling me. My first thought was, 'Is this dirty water?' I looked up and indeed saw water stains. Fortunately, it wasn't much, and it seemed to be slow drips from the air conditioner condensation pipe. I really didn't want to clean another room myself so late, so I just made do and stayed for two days.
The bedding itself was comfortable to lie on, but because of the shadow of hygiene issues, I kept thinking, with such superficial cleaning standards, could the bedding and linen actually be clean and up to par? And the hotel is so small, it couldn't possibly have its own laundry facility; it must all be outsourced... The more I thought about it, the more horrifying it became. I stayed here for two days with this constant unease, and it felt very unpleasant.
The service staff were all very conscientious and apologetic in their reserved enthusiasm. They even gave out fresh flower cakes to every departing guest during check-out. After I checked out, probably a sales manager, even called me specifically, hoping to address the hotel's shortcomings. This kind of work attitude is excellent. However, I want to say that patching things up always requires first strengthening internal capabilities. As a new hotel, your market positioning needs to be accurate. You're quite confident in your pricing, but what supports that confidence? Is it just relying on fake positive reviews? I saw your high ratings and believed them; now I understand. As a new hotel, you might start fast, but without internal strength, relying solely on fake orders, you won't last long. The market is very competitive, but in the future, the market will reward ethical businesses with strong internal foundations.
The room facilities are complete and clean! Parking is convenient, and it's very close to Daguan Zhuanxin Farmers Market, making it super easy to buy fruits and snacks! The lady at the front desk was very enthusiastic and provided excellent service! Breakfast was very rich, and the dining environment was especially good, with a wide view from the top floor. With glass windows on two sides, you can overlook the bustling intersection. There are green plants between the dining tables, creating a fantastic dining atmosphere! I'll definitely stay here again next time!

The front desk staff were incredibly attentive and patient during check-in, making for a very pleasant communication experience. The moment I stepped inside, I felt the quality of this hotel. The reception was excellent, and communication was smooth! Entering the room, I discovered the hotel's many high-end details. The room had a subtle, pleasant fragrance and was very clean. I loved it! 💕 It's a modern Chinese style. Friends reading this review should definitely consider this hotel; it's truly excellent. The photos are original images! High-quality ingredients! [Strong][Strong][Strong] I hope the hotel stays true to its original aspirations and continues to improve! [Coffee]
The hotel is located in 1903, which is very convenient for travel and shopping. The breakfast ingredients are fresh and taste great. The room has good lighting and is very comfortable. There is a self-service laundry room on the second floor, as well as a gym. The service of the front desk and the cleaning lady is also great. It will definitely be the first choice when I come to Kunming next time.
South Asia Small Inn is a place I must live in every time I come to Kunming. There is an underground parking space. The experience of staying in has always been very good. The environment is clean and comfortable. The disposable supplies are all available. The landlord will also prepare the laundry detergent intimately to give the guest the experience.
The only downside is that the 1303 bathroom I lived in this time has always had a leaking sound. When I sleep at night, I need to close the door tightly, which will not affect sleep. I hope the landlord will solve it as soon as possible.
Facilities: Very stylish decor, great atmosphere.
Cleanliness: Very clean!
Environment: The surrounding pedestrian street has beautiful lights and architecture, and it's super close to the Seven-Arch Floating Bridge, making it convenient for watching seagulls!!
Service: We had a lot of luggage, and the staff helped us with our luggage both when we arrived and left, which was very thoughtful. Pet-friendly, my rabbit had a great time! I brought my own cage to avoid making the guesthouse dirty.
Canned Roasted Milk Tea/Yunnan Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles/Choose one: The milk tea was delicious, with a strong aroma of rose and tea.
The inn is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the tourist area, making it super convenient for getting around. The room itself was well-equipped, spacious, and very clean and tidy. Plus, it even had a window with a view! Great value for money, I definitely recommend it!
