Seascape Coastal Retreat - 2 Adults Only - Hot Tub and Without Hot Tub Oceanfront Property

What a beautiful peaceful place to stay. The views from our cottage where absolutely stunning. We found this a most relaxing place to stay after exploring the surrounding area. The cottage was well appointed, it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Great experience. Friendly service. Clean cottages. Nice location. Beautiful views of the ocean and the sky. Restaurants nearby. I would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed at Seascape Coastal Retreat for three nights in late September on the eighth leg of our Canada Maritimes road trip. We arrived mid-afternoon and we were able to switch our allocated cabin (number 6) for number 8 which we had read had the best location. It didn’t have a hot tub but that suited us perfectly. It appeared that only a few of the cabins were occupied during our stay - probably under half full. Our cabin had an unimpeded dual aspect view over the water. It was also furthest from the road and had none of the other guests passing in their cars as it was at the end of the site. It was spotlessly clean, something we were relieved about having read recent reviews which suggested it might be otherwise. Internally there was a compact living area with a small kitchen area, a bedroom and a bathroom. In the bedroom as well as the queen sized bed there were two bedside cabinets, a chest of drawers and a closet. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens and duvet. The living room had a small two seater settee and a wicker chair. There were two stools and a fold out table where we ate our breakfasts. We didn’t use the TV but we were very happy with the fast and reliable wifi. The room had a couple of heating and cooling options, most notably a highly efficient air conditioning unit but also a remote controlled gas stove. We didn’t cook at all but there was enough crockery, cutlery and glassware to meet our simple needs. The bathroom had a shower over the tub, with ample hot water at a very acceptable pressure. The towels were soft and fluffy as were the towelling robes. This self catering accommodation has been ideally located to explore the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. It was possible to pick up provisions in the local grocery store - Freshmart. The range in such a small store was limited although we were able to get the basics for our short stay. There were a couple of restaurants within a short drive although we ate in one twice because of the lack of choice in the area. Things were certainly winding down for the end of the season. We adored the quietness and the serenity of this cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck and just marvelling at the view. It would have been good to have had greater personal contact with the owners and staff. Support was available by email, text or through the ring doorbell on the office door but there was no-one checking to see how we had settled in or how we were enjoying our stay.

The beautiful sunset and sunrise did not makeup for the saggy, lumpy mattress in cottage 9( I slept on the floor) . We arrived at 6 PM and found all but the Keltic Lodge were closed on Monday. The other 2 restaurants opened on Tuesday and Wednesday. The kitchenette was not adequate to actually cook but there was a grill. The room was tiny and the lights were 25watts so you couldn’t really read. We decided to leave after 1 night even though we booked for 3.

Great location for exploring the area and starting a trip on the trail. Clean rooms, love the hot tub on the deck. Great views.

Cottage 4 was a great place but there was ticks in the cottage and in the bed. Never slept well after noticing how many ticks were actually in the cottage on the walls couch and even in the bed.
