This hotel is the worst welcoming I’ve ever experienced. I never complain. I was appalled by the welcome which was an interrogation. I was then greeted by the police which was a bill I did not sign for. Was threatened with jail on the spot. I thought I was in a movie. DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE. AWFUL JUST AWFUL!!

In July 2024, I spent several days in this hotel. In general, I liked everything, except for some moments. I'll start with the good: excellent location, opposite a supermarket, and nearby there are many shops and benches, a gorgeous view from the window of the ocean, decent breakfasts, a clean pool, the staff's willingness to help at any time, delicious dishes to order from the menu, well-groomed territory. What I didn’t like: the rooms are already tired, they need updating, I lived in room 513. The pool is open until 19.00, which is not at all convenient, because after dinner you also want activity... but there is none)

Quiet, calm, there is something to eat for breakfast. They clean well. Humidity. Loud air conditioner. Nice staff

Facilities are a bit old

We booked with Mercury Holidays and I have had a great service in the UK and from the two resort reps Ananda and Dexter. We booked the Ella trip with the train ride which I can highly recommend, we loved the trip. Our guide Sanka was wonderful I recommended you request Sanka. Well done Mercury I’m impressed. We arrived after a 7 hour delay in Abu Dhabi and on arrival the reception staff were welcoming and very efficient The room was large with the best sea view ever. The maid was the best. Everyday the room was spotless and he made little bed decorations, towels were changed everyday, excellent job. The waiters and bar staff are good and the food was satisfactory. I loved the pool Aqua and found it was a very good workout. The two pool attenders gave a 7 star service in all the hotels I have ever stayed this was the best. The moment I arrived at the pool a sun bed was selected and the towel laid out for me. The two pools guys deserve a pay rise. We used the Spa and can highly recommend it. Really good massage. Roger, did karaoke/ DJ evenings we really enjoyed, everyone got involved on these nights , they were great fun. Loved the live music in the evening, The beach is lovely golden sand and it’s a very short walk to an area where you can swim safely and it’s here that you can feed the turtles, amazing Overall fantastic value for money Sri Lanka is beautiful the people are lovely and the country has lots to offer.

This hotel is in a nice beachfront location. I would say it is an average hotel which could be better with a facelift. Our room was clean and bed very comfortable. The AC in the room was very noisy as was the road noise which started early in the morning. The food was good in my opinion and the biggest compliment to this hotel is the staff. All of which were friendly and are an asset. My main problem with this hotel is the managers idea to allow gap year students in to use the facilities. Pool and sunbeds and towels. Generally taking over all areas and not spending any money buying food or drink. The hotel is not looking after the paying guests but letting them take all of the sunbeds and towels provided. Well out of order. My second time in Lanka. I will return but not to this hotel.

We enjoyed our 4 night all inclusive stay post our tour around Sri Lanka. Check in was swift and we were given a room with lovely views on top floor. The room had a large balcony with views of beach and pool. Room was quite spacious with flat screen TV with many satellite channels. There was a fridge, kettle, safe deposit box and plenty of storage. Bathroom had a walk in shower. It was small but adequate. Food in dining room was generally good but limited vegetarian choices were on offer on some days. However the chef was happy to prepare other vegetarian dishes which I did order on a couple of days. There was only 1 bar by the restaurant and they had a range of local beers, wines, spirits and cocktails on offer for all inclusive guests. I would have preferred another bar near the reception area. Also there was limted seating near reception area. Would have liked more indoor seating areas which would be useful on rainy days. However the beach was nice and turtle beach was only 5 minutes walk away where we got to see turtles on a couple of days. Also one could swim at turtle beach. Swimming was not allowed on beach opposite hotel when we were there due to rough seas. Pool was small but adequate. It was constantly kept clean by pool attendant who was friendly. The team at reception was very friendly too and looked after all our needs. Outside the hotel, there were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a supermarket directly opposite the hotel. Evening entertainment was generally low key but pleasant. However on one evening they had a DJ who played bollywood/Sri Lankan music and everyone danced away despite the heavy rain outside. We would be happy to visit this hotel perhaps in the drier season. However I would like the hotel to add another bar area and more indoor seating areas for their guests.

We went to celebrate my birthday at citrust and it was the best. We enjoyed our stay there. Mr.Dhamika gave us an amazing room and the arrangements were nice. The cake which they gave was soo good. The room was clean. The food was so tasty at the buffet and even the food we ordered from the menu. Portion was also good. Prices are reasonable. Not expensive like other places. Loved the view from our room. The staff were friendly with us. This is our 2nd time and we will visit again for sure.

We have spent 2 weeks at this hotel and I can honestly say we had a lovely time. The hotel is very clean and the staff make you feel really welcome. I probably would rate this hotel a good 3 star not 4 as advertised. It is on the beach but on a coral reef so pool shoes advised. My only few bad comment would be the food is not hot and lots of chipped glasses and crockery which need replacing. I would also like to thank Nuan and Chinthaka in the restaurant for making us really welcome and looked after. A big shout out to Roger who runs karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday nights too he even managed to get my husband up to sing. Overall the staff make this hotel a good place to stay.

It is a good hotel, which located in Hikkaduwa area. It also has a stunning view of the sea. I had a one-night stay with my wife. The sunset in the evening was stunning, and the balcony of my room provided a wonderful view. The rooms are clean, but they are not excellent. Morning breakfast buffet was good. There is a plethora of food options to choose from. In general, this is an excellent destination for a vacation.

Staying in Citrus hikkaduwa was a a fantastic and memorable thing in our life. The crew was very friendly and professional. They always there to help you without any hesitation. The rooms were clean and nice. The arrangement was good. Food were amazing. Though we only had breakfast there, the buffet was rich and fabulous. The environment is calm and peaceful. We loved the beach. We loved our vacation on Citrus, hikkaduwa. Cheers.

We spent a one night cheki in 29th checkout 30th for our wedding anniversary with our 2.6 month kids it's terrible experience ,staff and service good but others are terrible specially food and room,i inform led earlier about our spacial day they told me arrange a cake to us but its a terrible it's not a cake I don't no What it after eating we feel vomiting and we order lime soda then ok.on the bed some bugs they bit my son's that night we spend really with uncomfortable experience,in vain our money its not worth.we never recommend to any one and very disappointed.
