Madeira Panorâmico Hotel Reviews

One of the main reason why I booked this 4 star hotel was that it said it had a large space gym area as mentioned before booking, so I assumed it being a 4 start Hotel it will have decent weights and machines. However, when I arrived, the gym didn’t have a pull-up bar or a cable machine, the dumbbell weights were very basic that went up to only 10 kg. That is absolutely disappointing considering this was a 4 start Hotel. To be honest the multiuse cable machine is pretty much all you need as it has everything to be exercise all your body parts! I love my pullups hence I had to find a way to do them so I found a metal gate just outside the gym in the tennis court believe it or not I used the gate frame to do my pullups (see picture). Another downfall is that it didn’t have a water fountain in the gym area. You had to go up to the reception and buy bottle of water for €2. Good luck to those who suffer from quick dehydration. I expected the room to have a kettle which you wouldn’t think twice whether it will have it or not. But guess what? You have to pay extra to have a kettle in your room during your stay between €5 to €7. That’s just jokes, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry! Other than that, the staff were very friendly and the location is close to the sea, and approximately 11 minutes drive to the main city area in Funchal. I’d say the breakfast is good, but the same time pretty standard what you would get in a 3 star hotel. I was expecting better variety. The breakfast is always the same every day. Hardly never changes. However, the dinner menu has a rotation. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 out of 5! I hope they can accommodate the above the next time I visit. 

The hotel panoramically is a 4 sterling hotel offering great facilities, excellent food and drink and has great staff. The hotel is as great as it is due to the professionalism of the staff from the reception through to restaurant and bar staff through to cleaning operators. Special commendations should go to Leandro, Carlos, Sao, Patricia, Betty from the cocktail bar,Rashid in the dining room and Sonia in the poolside bar. These employees make this hotel with their vigour, humour and work rate and all went over and above their duties. Well done! Even the hotel manager took time out to ask how we were and were we enjoying our stay here. Excellent.

Great Hotel superb views. Comfortable rooms . Good choice at Breakfast..please t Garden..friendly staff . A bit of a walk up hill! Relaxing environment. There is a coach you can book for travelling until Funchal. I will return.nice indoor pool , tennis court ..worth 4🌟🌟🌟🌟

We have just completed our second visit to this lovely hotel. Everyone is very attentive and helpful. The views are worth the location on the hillside (although I would make use of the transportation provided if we weren’t already hikers). We particularly love the food. We had vegetarian friends with us this year who were blown away by how well they were catered for. My husband made a point of congratulating the kitchen staff and we returned to our room the next day to discover a complementary gift. We don’t know if the two events were linked but we weren’t complaining! Thanks to all the staff for a great week.

Very nice staff friendly and service minded, cleaning was also good I would say above average. Fantastic view, the name of the hotel make perfect sense. Unfortunately the double bed was too small for 2adults,made it difficult to sleep the entire week and that destroyed alot since sleeping is essential. The breakfast was also unfortunately too bad. Low standard of all products and not a great selection. Very much below what you would expect on a 4 star hotel. We went out for breakfast a couple of times even though breakfast was included in our stay. The lady that worked at the station for pancakes, egs and omelettes just acted very strange and could be percepted unfriendly even though that might not have been the intention. She was the only exception all other staff was very professional. Over all based on my wast experience on WW travel this is not a 4 star hotel but rather a 3 star facility. Due to the sleeping situation I would newer stay in this hotel again even without a breakfast.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Panoramic, the staff were all so friendly and welcoming which for someone traveling solo was great to see. Reception team took time on check in to give me all the facts and things I would need to know. The hotel was clean and room was modern. Food was excellent and lots of choice daily. Always a good selection of pudding :) Hotel was a great base, yes it is a walk into town but I enjoyed this, I did opt for a bolt on some of the return trips as was a large hill after a day of lots of walking. I enjoyed walking down the coastal promenade and another walk following the levada into the hills. Returning to a beer over looking Funchal topped off the day. The pool was always clean and inviting. I would certainly book this hotel again if I visit Madeira! Thank you Panoramic!

This is a lovely hotel, with amazing views and fantastic staff. The place is clean and well looked after and the grounds maintained immaculately. The view from our sea view room was stunning both day and night - we never tired of looking at it! However what really makes this hotel is the staff. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, efficient and keen to help. Unfortunately I was ill while in Madeira and staff couldn’t have been more caring and concerned. A special mention to both Victor and Sao, both of whom went out of their way to be kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you.

A very nice hotel for a stress free holiday. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Good choice of pool side food and not expensive. Lovely clean rooms and live music most nights in the lounge bar which was nice. Beautiful views over Funchal. We ate in local restaurants near the hotel and must say, a good choice not too far away and good food. Good tennis court too.

This was our 8th time returning to this lovely hotel & it felt like coming home. From the warm welcome on arrival right up to our departure we experienced exceptional service and kindness from all members of staff. Entertainment on most nights added to the ambiance in the cocktail bar where Carlos, Leandro , Betty & Sao always had a smile for us & words of welcome. The bedrooms are very well maintained & freshly painted, the beds are very comfortable too. There is a curtesy Mini - Bus service which runs regularly throughout the day Mon-Sat to take you into the main hub of Funchal (and bring you back to the hotel) this is an excellent service & both drivers are very efficient at their jobs, remember to book this at reception. We’d like the thank the restaurant manager, Victor & his hard working staff who looked after us so well, we do notice your efforts and appreciate them. The hotel offers many other facilities including an a la carte restaurant, tennis , squash court, sauna, steam room, an outdoor pool along with a heated indoor pool. There is also a well stocked pool bar serving delicious food &refreshing drinks where you can enjoy a truly ‘PANORAMICO’ view. The dedicated hotel manager, Mr Spinola sets a great example to his staff by working long hours & constantly monitoring that the hotel runs smoothly from breakfast time till after dusk. The views over the Port of Funchal are breathtaking and photo opportunities are plentiful. We have already booked to return next year and are counting the days!

Just loved the place, breakfast was plentiful and varied. Evening entertainment was varied but still good. Wish we could have stayed longer, but alas we had to fly home! We will be back I am sure, as one week really flew past. Only one criticism is that the milk and teabags were not replenished daily, but other than that...Brilliant!

Amazing views over Funchal, helpful and welcoming staff, restaurant food delicious, really recommend this place! Infinity pool, great area with the views . Hotel located close to city centre and bus stop is also by the hotel .Enjoy guys ..

We are just back from a lovely 7 night holiday at this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, a nice quiet location that’s close enough to Funchal town and plenty of restaurants. The facilities are very good. Breakfast was excellent, dinner was good but the are plenty of restaurants around. Taxis everywhere and a good bus service. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Funchal which takes 5-10mins and is brilliant. The airport is only 20-25 mins away and a taxi costs about €44. The staff are very friendly and cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. Only down side is no kettle in the rooms which is very minor. We had a super holiday and will be definitely be going back to this hotel. Thanks for a lovely stay. Aaron kelly.

The hotel is far from the city center . Upon arriving I asked for some water from the receptionist and I was refused. In addition , there was not a hair condition the room , I asked the receptionist and again I was refused . So I was disappointed a lot . The view from the room was good and the pool was well kept . The hotel is clean .
