We stayed at the Urban Hotel prior to going on a cruise. The hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to the cruise terminal and train station. Our room was modern and clean. We were on the the fourth floor. Our room was very quiet. We could hear the church bells in the distance. The town square was a hop, skip and jump away. Perfect location. We would definitely stay again. The hotel had an amazing buffet breakfast. So many choices.
When we arrived and saw that yellow old house by the road our impression was that we had made a mistake. How wrong we were! What a beautiful hotel! We had a room in the mansion that had a breathtaking view of the ocean and was very comfortable. Beautiful bathroom. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and kind. Lunch and breakfast outdoors in the terrace with that amazing view were experiences in themselves. There is access to the ocean via an elevator from the hotel to a concrete platform where there are towels, beach recliners and shades. If you want to swim you go in the water via concrete stairs. There is a bar in the lido. Easy parking in the hotel. Excellent starting point for exploring the Trieste area. We would love t return in the future!

Strategicly very good being in the center
Something might be improved by putting a matrimonial mattress in lattice instead of two singles with a moulded.

The apartment is located in a beautiful old building, in excellent location, just a few minutes from the Canale Grande/Vecchio. Very clean and ordently. Clean textiles. spacious. Once a week, a basic cleaning and replacement of bed linen and towels takes place. The bathroom is beautiful and well equipped. However, only the most necessary and simple is available. About standard articles such as. Wrists or tops are to be asked extra. In addition, the noise from the kitchen is unfortunately very noisy and disturbs significantly during sleep (therm and extremely noisy refrigerator). At my request, the heat was closed at night, nothing happened. The air conditioning works, but is extremely noisy during operation. The refrigerator was wrongly set and is poorly designed. The condensation water runs under the vegetable box and, by increasing it, ensures that the door is almost impossible to close, which is blocked. Problems such as the wrong setting of the refrigerator or the defected toilet washing box were quickly fixed by the staff. Partly, the walls could be removed and some items (e.g. beans in the bathroom) could be replaced.
The staff takes care of it, but you don't feel very welcome as a guest. It is provided a service to the guest with the necessary courtesy. All beyond that is not considered necessary.
Concluded: good accommodation in top position, best suited for unexpected and short stays. For me too expensive with these shortcomings. With a little effort you could improve the stay of guests a little bit and make it beautiful. Shame that so little customer connection is operated.
We had some issues getting to the hotel due to the very slow passport control at Trieste airport and so turned up about 12:30 in the morning. Once we found the hotel we rang the bell several times and did not notice the sign stating that if closed go to the Intercontinental on the other side of the pedestrian area. The receptionist came across and guided us to the other hotel where we booked in and then he came across, showed us the key to get in and up to the lift where we went up to our suite. The suite was a good size with a microwave, fridge, kettle, pots and pans etc. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and the room was quiet so we got a good nights sleep. The breakfast is in the other hotels' restaurant but it is less than a minute to walk across to it. Breakfast choice was not great - you have to choose your breakfast from a menu and it would have been better to have a buffet type. The hotel was quite expansive and I did not feel that it was worth the cost.
Lovely hotel - very nicely located. We checked in after hours - they sent the instructions via email and text so it couldn’t have been any easier. the apartment was spacious and clean - we were only there for a night before our cruise but I would love to come back to this little town and stay here much longer. Highly recommend- the front desk staff were so friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is a central hotel, in the heart of the ghetto, two minutes walk from the Piazza della Unita, restaurants and the heart of the city of Trieste. The hotel is very friendly and friendly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is fully renovated and new. The rooms are simple and quality. The location is very quiet in a adjacent street away from the tumult of bars and restaurants, however close to. In short, we feel good, very well, which is already a huge quality when traveling, and we leave this hotel and the city of Trieste with a little idea in the head: to come back very quickly, keeping the address of the hotel James valuable Joyce in the head. Sara, Giulio, thank you two! L

Outstanding
GGuest User1) Front desk stuff was not helpful at all!!!
2) Access to the hotel’s lobby is only by stairs and all stuff was trying to pretend there were busy not to help at all. Luckily, we had only small suitcases, so that was not a problem for us, but still for this level of hotel I would expect welcome service in front of the hotel and not at the front desk.
3) I would not recommend “Historical One Bedroom King Suite” - it looks like the room had been plundered long time ago. There were literally no decorations whatsoever, be it old or new
Loved this apartment - amazing location in the centre near to lots of great bars and restaurants, walking distance to everything yet also really chilled. Eqsy to check in and out. Great size for two, kitchen well equipped for cooking and comfortable bed. Do take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as air con is very loud and it's easy to hear movement in other apartments but on the plus can hear very few noises from outside.
We stayed here for a week in June for a friend’s wedding nearby. Great location on the sea front. The location is a few miles outside of Trieste so a taxi is needed to and from the city. Better to have a hire car: the hotel has plenty of parking. The breakfast is well managed and a great choice of delicious food served in the lovely restaurant. We had dinner there once; the food was good. Our room had a balcony with great views, though there is often a lot of traffic and noise from cars and motorcycles. But lovely sea views. The room service and cleaning was quick, unobtrusive and immaculate every time, so a big thank you to housekeeping. Reception team are stars. They coped well with everything we asked (in English as we hardly speak any Italian) and were super helpful, even recovering my mobile phone which I stupidly left in a taxi. Also, every morning the reception and dining room team welcomed us with smiles and greetings. A great hotel, I’d be happy to recommend and to stay here again.
GGuest UserI have only positive things to say about the Victoria Letterario, even after the shock during the check in. Upon arrival for check in, the reception staff told me that my booking was cancelled! I showed them the communication of trip.com 3 days earlier confirming my booking, which their system has not registered. Jorge, the concierge, was very apologetic and offered me the only room available that day which I accepted, while he will get in touch with the intermediary to find out what went wrong. It appears that trip.com and similar platforms purchase the beds in great numbers from a company hotelbeds.com- I went to my room and I came down with my iPad and I and Jorge got in touch with Trip.com via my account. Trip.com replied immediately, confirming my booking and promising that they will get in touch with hotelbeds.com. As it was already 7pm, Trip.com did no manage to get through the staff at hotelbeds. Trip.com advice that if hotelbeds.com did no reply or confirm the booking then I'll have to pay and Trip.com will refund me right away. I was happy with that. I stayed the 2 nights in the hotel, and only the morning of the day I checked out the hotel Victoria Letterario received finally the confirmation of the booking from hotelbeds. Trip.com was every effective in dealing with the issue and I'll use them again and Jorge, at the Victoria Letteriario dealt with the issue very professionally all they way through, so did the manager of the hotel too.
Trieste is a small city, and you can walk from the hotel to the major landmarks in 20 minutes. I loved the decoration of the rooms, the bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The TV channels were all in Italian but I don't care much about the telly when I travel. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it has everything that a good hotel breakfast should have and more, namely its attentive staff. A five stars stay!!!
TTimeTravellerIf you want to truly experience Trieste in the right location and with style then this is the place. A small perfectly built Palace run by staff who care about their guests. There is absolutely everything you need here. I arrived late at night and when I walked out onto the breakfast room the following room found myself saying wow at the view on the stunning Piazza. I choose this hotel because I had always wanted to stay there in Trieste, I did return for a second stay and I would stay there again. You are close to the sea, the historical centre, numerous bars and restaurants, shopping and tourist hotspots. The rooms are lovely, majestically clean. Breakfast are a relaxing experience you do not want to hurry because why would you with that view around you. The bar is the place to be throughout the day and also acts as an informal restaurant throughout the day. Formal is also available but that was not my choice. Rooms were large comfortable and very clean with the best amenities provided. Book your stay, you know you want to!
GGuest UserWe have visited Trieste many times. Our only priority, when it comes to booking, is the sea in the nearby. This time we arrived from Vienna very late in the evening. Though, my wife, being half Italian, we were a bit disconcerned, how to find a good one. Yet, we succeeded in finding the best option. Modernist is located in downtown, yet near the sea, stylish, charming with a wonderful team, who were eager to please all our requests at once. They were able to find a solution to every issue we were facing. Location, hotel and team was the perfect Trinity. This is a very rare constellation. Thank you for two wonderful receptionist Ladies and Alesssandro for all! This is out of question, we are returning soon, since they were providing the warmth of Home.Dott.ssa Nora&Benjamin
TTrip37943749112So glad I stayed here. It’s amazing inside and the staff (well most of them) are lovely too! Arrived during a national train strike so was stressed and just grateful to have arrived. My check in was great, the guy was friendly and informative. Escorted me to my room which was modern and he showed me how everything worked. Only thing I was disappointed in is there are no safes in the room - that can be so easily rectified. Didn’t have breakfast but I did bring a friend back for a drink in the evening only to be met by a miserable member of staff who so did not want to serve us drinks and when we insisted he made the cocktail with one small piece of ice! When I asked for more he gave me another small piece! Ridiculous! We weren’t the only ones to receive his misery! A group of 4/5 came in after us and were told they could take the drinks to their room! They were just as surprised as us with his rudeness. Anyway I haven’t detracted any points from this review because I spoke with the owner in the morning and she was lovely and apologised profusely. None of it was her doing but she was mortified and assured me she would deal with it which I trust she did. Would definitely return if in Trieste again 👍
GGuest UserExcellent location, staff very professional, and an amazing breakfast. Easy to tote our luggage to the cruise ship (about a 5 minute walk). Excellent apertivo just outside the hotel door. One night we were having apertivo and I just wanted something more. I order a gnocchi from their restaurant. I never had gnocchi with a meat sauce and it was excellent. Lots of shops and eating places. Would stay there again.
GGuest UserIt was the best location while traveling to Trieste.
The facilities are clean and the bathroom is satisfactory!
However, it was a pity that the sound insulation was not good.
The sea view that was slick was also goodㅎㅎ
I'm going to ask you guys planning a trip to Trieste.
It seems to be a good hotel!
Highly recommended
SSSparrowzThe employees were super nice and helpful getting anything I needed. I was there on karaoke night and it was lots of fun with a bunch of people singing their hearts out and just chatting. Everyone was super friendly and it was extremely enjoyable. Definitely would do again!
