We stayed 5 days in Taichung for our pre-wedding shoot, and the location couldn’t be more convenient. Just a 10-minute walk to Wernar Wedding, and everything else we wanted to explore was nearby. Morning strolls to Third Market for breakfast, a sweet stop at Miyahara for ice cream, a fun baking session at the Sun Cake Museum, and night walks to Yizhong Market for food. Loved how walkable everything was!
The only bad thing is that there is not enough space to open luggage.

An absolutely excellent hotel! The views, ambiance, facilities, and service are all top-notch. What truly stood out was the service. Even though the hotel was very busy, everything was incredibly well-organized, from reserving a dinner table at the restaurant to borrowing bicycles, helping us find a table at breakfast, and managing the pool and beach lounge areas, as well as the fitness and recreation center – everything was handled perfectly. The staff were all very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. Having stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, this was by far one of my most satisfying experiences. We booked for five nights and still felt it wasn't enough!

When we checked in which was rather late ,was smooth but there is only one elevator and you have to wait for quite sometime. The room is spacious, there were shampoo and body wash but no tooth brush. Breakfast provided was quite good, although not those elaborate type. And they do changed some of the dishes for the 4nights I stayed. Gym was small, there is a laundry at B1 for only 20twn, dryer 20twn. They do provide some biscuits too at the lobby with drinks。

A comfortable, clean, and welcoming hotel that offers great value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable accommodation experience. Though I wish their foods would have other variety like dishes from other country's specialty. As a Filipino we did not enjoy much of a Chinese food, we prefer savory/salty foods, but overall, it was a nice hotel to stay in. Hotel is near Ximending night market and Ximen station. very convenient.

The Grand Hotel Taipei is truly exceptional. My stay there was a journey into history and culture, something I've wanted to experience for a long time. The moment I stepped into the lobby, I was struck by its magnificent grandeur, a testament to traditional Chinese palace architecture. It offers a unique historical depth that you won't find anywhere else in Taipei. The room itself was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The staff were all very polite and professional, providing excellent service. The hotel also boasts a variety of distinctive cuisines, offering different flavors to try. The secret tunnel tour was a particular highlight; hotel guests can experience it at a discounted rate, which is fantastic. It was a rare historical exploration and I highly recommend staying here.

Overall, the hotel is good and service from the staff is great too. Breakfast Hotel has a good spread and enjoyed the food there. Hotel is well located near the Fengjia Night Market and you can go there in 3 min but is not very near the city centre and you may need to take a bus or walk there.

Conveniently located near Fengjia Night Market, the front desk staff was very welcoming. There's a bus stop just a minute's walk from the hotel entrance, making it easy to get to most places you'd want to visit.
This was my first time staying at Cloud Business Hotel, and as soon as I entered, I was struck by how spacious and bright it was. A big plus is that they offer parking spots on a first-come, first-served basis. I booked a triple room this time, and it was also very clean and bright. The double bed was really huge and super comfortable! The only drawback was a faint smell of renovation in the room, likely from ongoing work upstairs, but it was still within an acceptable range. I'd definitely consider staying at Cloud Business Hotel again next time I'm in Taichung.

This hotel claims to be 5-star, but it feels incredibly cheap. For a 5-star hotel, you'd expect basic amenities like toothbrushes, razors, and combs, but there was absolutely nothing. I thought maybe they forgot to provide them, but when I called, they told me I had to go buy them myself. The body wash and shampoo were also the cheapest kind, and there wasn't even any hair conditioner. Plus, you have to go outside to fill up your own water. I've stayed in many 5-star hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered something so bad. While the location is good, the lack of thoughtful service for guests is disappointing. The shower area is also quite small. The room itself was okay, though.
Checked-in for 3 nights, request no corner room, not bear ti the lift and if possible checked me in to a double bex room. Arrived for checked in at 3pm, front desk said fully booked (weekdays) and understood. But, the room was 2301, corner room and near lift.
The most disappointment was, checkex in 3 nights, the svcreen foelrver welcome another customer, a japanese guy name. Overall, I've never been experienced the lobby staff never great you, chit chatting while checl the guest out..
Room good, clean, location strategic, only sideback is the servicing.

AAnonymous UserEverything was good during my stay in this hotel. The lighting of the room was a bit too dim for me, but it wasn't a problem during the day as there was plenty of sunlight from the window. What I like about is that they put a coffee table and an armchair by the window, making it quite enjoyable to do some reading during the day. The location is a okay, around 10-15 minutes walk from the closest MRT station. The way to the station was clear and had a variety of local shops to explore.

CCaleb CreasonHotel is quite nice, staff was very friendly and room as clean and equipped nicely. Breakfast was expansive with a good selection for everyone. The location is within walking distance to many things. We took a nice walk to the science park area and visited one of the local temples. There is also a nice speakeasy bar within 10 min walk (kind of hidden past the starbucks up the hill). I would definitely recommend this hotel to business visitors or tourists as well.
SS93reExcellent as always. However they stopped providing disposables which might affect some travelers. Do note that you cannot clock hilton points when booking on trip.
SspicyfionaThe staff were friendly and enthusiastic; they even provided information about nearby parking when the hotel's lot was full. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's clean and well-maintained. My only minor complaint is that there was an extra charge for requesting an additional pillow.😅
AAnnie Dela Cruz MendozaEverything is perfect except the pool was closed during our stay! They said it’s open only during summer! I wish it will be open the whole season as one of the reasons why we like this hotel is because of the pool!
AAi Lun. CThe bustling downtown and market are just a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Nearly all the staff were incredibly friendly and professional in answering our questions. This trip marked our seven-month anniversary, and it added so many wonderful memories as we head towards our eighth month together.
Upon check-in, the hotel learned we were celebrating our anniversary and thoughtfully upgraded us to a mountain-view room. The in-room welcome drinks were incredibly generous, featuring mini beers, plum wine, coke, and Pocari Sweat – essential for rehydration after a soak; they even included face masks to pamper us while we enjoyed the in-room hot spring bath.
All the room's fixtures and fittings were new and high-quality: a Toto washlet, a Panasonic 1400 nanoe hairdryer, a thoughtful wooden gua sha massage comb, and hyaluronic acid-infused shower gel that left skin feeling smooth and soft. What truly amazed me were the double-layered automatic curtains (even in the room's private hot spring area!). The double room's bathtub was spacious enough for up to four people – a very comfortable size.
In the afternoon, the lobby offered preserved fruits and freshly brewed tea, perfect for a relaxing break after a dip in the outdoor public hot spring. After dinner, they provided handmade kumquat-flavored tofu pudding, and it was unlimited – so generous! (There's a lovely staff member in the lobby, Tina, who's a treasure trove of recommendations for local food and sights; don't hesitate to ask her for her secret list of must-try places!)
Last but not least, I highly recommend trying the hotel's breakfast, especially the freshly blanched beef soup. Even my boyfriend, who grew up in Tainan, the home of beef soup, couldn't stop raving about it.
*If you're planning a weekday visit like we did and want to try some local famous eateries, be sure to check their opening hours in advance. Many popular spots are only open from Friday to Sunday or during specific hours, like mornings until 2 PM. (Luckily, you can find a lot of food on Uber Eats!)
Heartily recommend!
GGuest UserExcellent and very friendly service throughout my entire stay from doorman to concierge to front desk to housekeeping to restaurant to gym. Great location next to Shandao temple MRT and within walking distance to Taipei station, nice restaurants, cafes and the famed Fuhang soy milk. I also enjoyed the excellent lunch buffer at the hotel restaurant Kitchen 12 at incredibly reasonable price. But please note that Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite or higher tier members do not receive the usual executive lounge access or free breakfast if you book via Trip.com (you need to book directly with Marriott to enjoy the benefits).
JJoe Nathanael ChowA Scenic Stay with a Convenient Catch
My stay at Hotelday Hualien was a bit of a mixed bag. It has some genuinely charming touches and a great view, but its location and certain amenities require some adjustment.
Location & Transportation: The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Hualien Train Station, which is fantastic if you're arriving by rail. However, I soon realized that the train station is not the city center. The main downtown area is a significant distance away—about a 40-minute walk. This means you'll either need to plan for long walks or rely on taxis and buses to get to the main dining and night market areas. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of.
The Room: The room itself was a highlight. It was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The best feature was the large window that faced the train station, with a stunning backdrop of the mountains. It was incredibly scenic and made the room feel bright and open. While the room was comfortable, I did notice that the overall design and some of the furniture felt a bit dated. It's clean and functional, but don't expect a super modern aesthetic.
Amenities & Service: This is where the experience was a bit uneven. The gym was quite disappointing. It only had a stationary bicycle and a treadmill. There were no weights, no multi-gym, nothing for anyone hoping for even a basic strength workout. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper facility.
On the other hand, the service had some truly thoughtful highlights. When we asked for ice, the hotel staff kindly delivered some to our room, which was a nice touch.
The Special Touch: The most memorable part of the stay was a small, heartwarming gesture. The hotel provided us with complimentary postcards. The unique part? They offered to mail them for us, but not right away. They will send them exactly one year later. It's a lovely idea—a little time capsule from your trip that arrives as a surprise in the future.
Overall: Hotelday Hualien offers spacious, comfortable rooms with beautiful mountain views, and its proximity to the train station is a plus for travelers. The thoughtful service, like the ice delivery and the ”postcard to your future self” program, adds a warm, personal touch. However, the distance from the city center and the very basic gym are drawbacks. It's a solid choice for a comfortable night's sleep near the station, especially if you appreciate sentimental gestures, but be prepared for the travel time to the main attractions.
GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly warm and responsible, providing thoughtful service. The room was odor-free and very clean. There was sparkling water and drinking water available in the public areas, and the mini-bar was a welcome sight after a late check-in. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, with slight changes to the self-service options daily, making for a pleasant dining experience. The hotel is close to the subway station, which makes getting to attractions very convenient. The subway station also has drugstores where you can buy many things, and there are 7-Eleven and other convenience stores nearby, making daily life very convenient. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay.
