Stayed at Pan Pacific Suzhou and had a really pleasant experience overall. The room was very spacious and comfortable, which made the stay extra relaxing. One of the highlights was the perks that come with being an in-house guest—there are quite a number of privileges that make the stay feel more worthwhile and enjoyable.
The hotel itself has a beautiful, serene atmosphere, perfect for a quiet getaway while still being in the city.
If there’s one downside, it would be the location in terms of convenience to public transport. Although it’s mentioned to be near train stations, the walk to the nearest ones is actually a bit further than expected, especially if you’re carrying luggage or travelling in the heat.
Also, for older guests, it may be a good idea to request a room closer to the main lobby, as the property is quite large and distances within the hotel can be a bit of a walk.
Overall, still a lovely stay and would recommend for those who value space, comfort, and a more tranquil environment.
🌸 A sunny March is the perfect time for flower viewing. Carrying a slight regret from our last trip and a lingering fondness for Nanxiang, we embarked on this Nanjing journey, with the Nanjing Shangri-La, of course, as our first stop.
1. **Location**: The hotel's location is superb, right next to Xinmofan Road Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to reach all major attractions. It's also very close to Xuanwu Lake, just a few minutes' walk away. Strolling along the lake, with willows swaying and flowers vying for attention – the dazzling tulips, the blooming crabapples (some green, some red), and especially that expansive cherry blossom grove. From a distance, it looked like a pink mist. A gentle spring breeze would bring a shower of cherry blossoms, petals fluttering down and scattering, softly carpeting the earth in pink. The peach blossoms were not to be outdone, white, pink, and crimson, blooming profusely on the branches, attracting countless busy little bees and adding vibrant color to the lakeside spring.
2. **Room**: We stayed in a lake-view suite again this time, and I'm grateful to the Horizon Club staff for arranging a high-floor room. The room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright, with a large living room and bedroom. The floor-to-ceiling window offered a side view of Xuanwu Lake, which was a slight pity. There was no separate walk-in closet, the luggage rack was rather high and narrow, and the bathroom toilet wasn't smart and wasn't separated, all indicating the hotel's age. However, the room service was commendable. They were always responsive, not only providing a luggage rack and a drying pole but also bringing a pot of orchids, which added color to the room. When we mentioned that the welcome dessert wasn't very good, they immediately replaced it with cherry blossom cupcakes and chocolates the next day, which was very thoughtful.
3. **Dining**: The hotel's 'Jiangnan Wok' restaurant specializes in Huaiyang cuisine and is a Black Pearl two-diamond establishment. The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, and the waitstaff are all polite. The 'Clear Broth Lion's Head' was fragrant, soft, and melted in the mouth, while the 'Huaiyang Soft Wok Eel' was silky smooth and tender, our absolute favorite. The unexpected surprise was the 'Stir-fried Beef with Brisket Fat' – the beef was tender and aromatic, with excellent wok hei. Being spice lovers, we also ordered the 'Jiangnan Wok Maoxuewang,' which was also excellent. The large chunks of eel and generous shrimp balls showed no skimping on ingredients, and the flavor definitely rivaled external Sichuan and Hunan restaurants. Personally, I found the pan-fried buns just okay. The 'Xiao Xian Rou' crispy pastry reminded me of Shanghai's fresh pork mooncakes, but felt like it lacked a bit of juice.
Breakfast at the ground-floor buffet used to impress me, but this time, the taste felt a bit off compared to before. The 'Jiangnan Wok' breakfast selection was rich, the duck blood vermicelli soup was very fresh and delicious, and the handmade soup dumplings were also good. The beef potstickers had a fragrant filling, but the crust wasn't crispy enough. The bread and pastry section had a variety of choices, but the taste felt average, especially my favorite caramel egg tart, whose crust was soft, almost as if it had been microwaved.
The Horizon Club breakfast is semi-buffet style, with a la carte options available. The pan-fried salmon was exquisite and delicious, and the duck blood vermicelli soup was generously portioned and very fresh. The restaurant's bread station even had a small toaster, allowing guests to heat their own bread, which was a thoughtful touch. However, I felt the standard had declined compared to before; the Eggs Benedict were solid, the beef in the Nanjing beef noodles was tough, and the steamed buns in the steamer were sometimes not hot, affecting the taste. Although the happy hour offerings were quite rich, the taste was average. Even more unbelievable, we found plastic wrap in the food – this shouldn't happen at a Shangri-La brand hotel. Nevertheless, the service attitude of the staff, whether in the ground-floor restaurant or the Horizon Club, was still very attentive and enthusiastic.
I also encountered an unprecedented issue at the gym. For two consecutive days, I was stopped at the entrance because the staff said my room card and room number didn't match. Later, the duty manager likely issued a new room card, but it canceled my previously noted late check-out, causing me to be unable to enter on check-out day, which was quite embarrassing. Although the gym operates 24/7 with room card access, the restroom is shared with the pool, and it's unavailable after staff leave at 11 PM, which is inconvenient for guests who come to work out late.
In summary, this stay brought me both joy and sorrow. I hope the hotel can strengthen its training and management to reach new heights and become a landmark of Nanjing, a place one thinks of when Nanjing is mentioned!

The room facilities are complete, and the air conditioning and hot water are excellent. The breakfast is also plentiful. The location is superb, situated in a bustling commercial area and close to the subway station. There are many shopping malls and restaurants nearby, and the room rates are very reasonable.

Definitely a five-star review! The environment here is truly exceptional.
There's also a really interesting story: one morning, I was still half-asleep heading to breakfast. After a few days of traveling, I hadn't eaten enough vegetables, so I was just spacing out, mechanically chewing purple cabbage, staring at the floor, not even on my phone. A server noticed me and, perhaps thinking I seemed a bit off, kindly came over to tell me about the other breakfast options like vermicelli soup. I really appreciate her thoughtfulness, hahahahaha (even though I was just zoning out at the time 🐱).
After finishing my first plate and getting some energy back, I started eating other items like duck blood vermicelli. The same server saw this and again came over to ask if my breakfast was good, hahahahaha. It was a very memorable experience! (I'm so sorry I didn't catch her name; this happened on April 3rd, and I think she was wearing a black uniform. Thank you so much! ☺️

Location: Super convenient! Confucius Temple, Fuguo Street, Suning Mall, Golden Eagle, Hubushan, and Huilongwo are all within walking distance. The subway station is right downstairs, which is a huge plus, especially during Golden Week when traffic can be a nightmare. It's definitely a landmark building in the absolute city center.
Cleanliness: Better than expected, but since it's on a high floor, all the windows are sealed. I personally prefer good ventilation.
Facilities: Better than expected, but the hairdryer was a bit basic.
Service: The housekeeping staff and the cheerful young man who seated us in the restaurant were all very polite and genuinely enthusiastic, not just mechanically so.

I'm completely charmed by Andaz's aesthetic and quality! The minimalist yet elegant decor, paired with soft furnishings and thoughtfully placed corner accents, truly shows their attention to detail. Plus, they provide Avene toiletries. The room is filled with natural light, and opening the window creates a wonderful ambiance, perfect for stunning photos. It's quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for relaxing before bed or unwinding in the morning. I truly enjoyed the slow pace and immersive experience here 🌿

For my weekend getaway to Yangzhou, I chose Shangri-La, and to my surprise, the experience far exceeded my expectations. You could truly feel the hotel's dedication to its guests everywhere.
What really delighted me was the complimentary morning tea at Liuyuanchun Tea House, included with our stay package. This was incredibly 'Yangzhou'! Instead of queuing up like a tourist in the old town, we got to enjoy authentic 'Pi Bao Shui' (a local breakfast tradition) right at the hotel. The buns burst with savory flavor with every bite, and the jade-green shaomai and layered oil cakes were also exceptionally good. Paired with a cup of green tea, this breakfast instantly filled me with happiness.
I also have to mention the complimentary foot massage by Lu Qin. As a representative of Yangzhou's 'Three Knives' (a local cultural highlight), the masseuse's technique truly lived up to its reputation. After a day of sightseeing, a foot massage with precise acupressure and thorough pressure instantly melted away all fatigue. I felt ready to explore Slender West Lake all over again!
Furthermore, the cuisine at Shang Palace was another major highlight. The Huaiyang dishes were incredibly authentic; the Lion's Head meatball melted in my mouth, and the 'Goose Four Delicacies' and 'Soft Stir-fried Eel' were truly local specialties. The restaurant's ambiance was elegant, and the service was meticulous.
From check-in to check-out, Shangri-La Yangzhou truly embodied the meaning of 'home away from home'. Whether it was the comfortable rooms or these value-added experiences, I felt it was incredibly good value for money. Next time I visit Yangzhou, this will definitely be my top choice!
The hotel is located in the old city, not too far from the tourist attractions, and is easily accessible by subway to places like Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, Zhongshan Scenic Area, and Xinjiekou. There's a rich variety of dining options nearby, such as Shizilou, Jiming Soup Dumplings, and Yin's Soup Dumplings, all within walking distance, which is fantastic. The hotel environment is good, and the facilities are well-maintained. The bedding is odorless and dry, and the room is clean, though some minor details could use more attention during cleaning 🧹. Otherwise, it's excellent! The staff provided wonderful and attentive service, especially the young lady who handled our check-in; her service was superb 👍👍. She even upgraded our room and gave us complimentary fruit, which was a pleasant surprise. I apologize for forgetting her name, but I'd like to extend my gratitude through this platform!!! The breakfast offers a rich and varied selection, blending Chinese and Western dishes, though the stir-fries could use a bit more seasoning. The afternoon tea on the 78th-floor cloud lounge was also very good, but the service staff there were not quite on par with the front desk, appearing a bit aloof. Aside from that, everything else was excellent. I still recommend it!

The room was very clean and the facilities were great. They even provided slippers and toothpaste for the kids. The breakfast spread was extensive with a wide variety of options. The security guard at the entrance was very friendly, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. Even though my oldest child exceeded the height limit, they still kindly offered a complimentary breakfast. It was a wonderful trip.

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.
CChouyuI brought my parents to explore Pingjiang Road old street to experience the Suzhou charm. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of Pingjiang Road, making it convenient to go anywhere. When we got tired, we could just head back to the hotel for a quick rest. Plus, there's a Cha Yan Yue Se (tea shop) right downstairs, which was super convenient for grabbing drinks.

The hotel's location is excellent, making transportation incredibly convenient; it saves a lot of time whether you're taking a car or walking to attractions. The front desk staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall environment was relaxing. Such a convenient location paired with excellent service is truly rare to find. All in all, this is a great place worth revisiting. The next time I'm in this city, I will definitely prioritize this hotel and recommend it to my friends.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high!
The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help!
The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning!
The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

GGuest UserLocation: Next to Shilu Subway Station, inside Shilu Pedestrian Street. Floors 5-7.
Ambiance: Leans towards a Japanese style. Some rooms facing certain directions might be a bit noisy.
Pros:
🔥 The interior is clean and tidy. The location is very close to the train station, right next to Qili Shantang, which is lively at night.
🔥 There's Yaba Shengjian (pan-fried buns) downstairs, which is delicious. You can also try Suzhou-style hotpot in Shantang Street, but they're all pretty similar.
🔥 The small balcony is perfect for sitting and chatting in the evening.
🔥 Our customer service agent, Kele (Cola), was very nice. When our room was noisy, she immediately helped us reserve and switch rooms and also recommended some tasty local restaurants. Very patient! 👍
Areas for Improvement:
⚡️ Could you prepare more small gifts? We'd like some too!
⚡️ Late at night, there might be a shortage of staff, so if you order takeout, you might have to wait a bit.
MMingquanRecommended by a friend who stayed here last year. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to get to attractions by taxi or subway. The facilities are new, modern, and very comfortable. The room was spacious, the bedding incredibly cozy, and the bathroom was also very convenient with good water pressure. The hotel offers free laundry and drying machines, and the gym is quite large. Overall, the stay was fantastic. A special shout-out to the service – not only was it thoughtful, with various teas available at the front desk, but when we accidentally lost an umbrella from our room and only realized after checking out, the hotel was very understanding and didn't charge us for it. Highly recommend! 👍 Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Suzhou.
