Specifically came to Suzhou's Dongshan for the white jade loquats this weekend, but opted not to stay at Dongshan Hotel this time. Instead, we drove an hour back to the city to stay at Wu Palace. It was my first time here, and our room was on the first floor. The lobby is on the third floor, so we had to take the elevator down to the first floor, then navigate a bit to find our room. With two elderly people, it was a little inconvenient. However, my family unanimously agreed that the hotel's ambiance is quite unique, and decided that next time we visit Suzhou, we'll definitely choose Wu Palace again (they specifically told me to book a room on the 3rd floor)😁. It's loquat season now, and the two loquat trees in the courtyard are perfectly in theme. Amidst the white walls and black tiles, loquats hang from the branches. I woke up early to snap a few photos📸 of the loquat trees. Being under the trees, everything felt so fresh🤤.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I love its ambiance and service. I honestly think it's the best value-for-money hotel in Suzhou, period. The room is quite spacious, and the bed is perfectly comfortable. I'm generally very satisfied with the in-room amenities; there's a smart speaker, and the mini-fridge is great. Next time, I won't even need to bring a power bank, as charging cables are provided. Within a three-kilometer radius of the hotel, there are familiar gardens like Canglang Pavilion and Master of the Nets Garden, and Pingjiang Road is not far either. There are also plenty of dining options, and a convenience store is right across the street. The lobby has a self-service coffee machine, although I only had one cup. All the front desk staff are incredibly enthusiastic, and I really enjoy that atmosphere. When I come to Suzhou, this is the only place I'll choose. During check-out, the front desk attendant even gave me a sachet of mugwort, which I loved. Transportation is also very convenient, with Metro Line 4 about 100 meters away and plenty of Hello Bikes available.

Arrived by train after 10 PM and just wanted to find a close place to rest, and the hotel turned out to be surprisingly good! First, it's incredibly close – literally three minutes from the high-speed rail exit to the hotel. They upgraded me to a deluxe room upon check-in, which was spacious and beautiful; my child absolutely loved it. They even provided slippers and toiletries for the little one, showing very thoughtful and attentive service. Breakfast was also delicious, especially the fish soup wontons – so fresh and tasty!

I originally booked two different room types for three nights and needed to switch rooms in the middle. Duncan was incredibly thoughtful and upgraded my room, allowing me to enjoy the city view from the Asia Pacific Building for three days, which was a fantastic experience. The room layout was exactly to my liking, and it was spotlessly clean with excellent air conditioning. The breakfast on the first floor offered a wide variety of local specialties; the large meat buns and beef potstickers were delicious. From the 56th floor, you could see Xuanwu Lake and Jiming Temple, and I really enjoyed the wontons. The hotel is right next to the subway station, making it super convenient to get to scenic spots and the train station. This trip, except for one night when I was too tired and took a taxi back from Confucius Temple, I used the subway for all my travel. Next time I visit, I will definitely choose Jinling Hotel again and try out Meiyuan.

Hotel near Taihu Lake Scenic Area,Wuxi 2.4% of visitors choose this area
GGuest User 2026.05.03
No hotel is perfect, but some definitely have standout features. Taihu Hotel, I highly recommend it! Even though it's called Taihu Hotel, it's not directly on Lake Taihu. Only some of the lake-view rooms actually offer a glimpse of the lake, and there are no public areas with lake views either. So, if you're staying at Taihu Hotel and your budget allows, I'd suggest a lake-view room, especially one with a balcony. In spring or autumn, sitting on the balcony, you can see Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle) – that green shoreline across the lake. The balcony faces directly onto Yuantouzhu's ferry terminal, offering beautiful and delightful scenery. I had initially planned to find a lakeside cafe to relax, but this balcony was just too good to leave. The room came with a capsule coffee machine, so I brewed a cup and sat on the balcony. A gentle breeze was blowing, a few swallows circled overhead (I assume their nests are on the hotel roof), and the lush greenery enveloped me in the fresh scent of plants. The view was expansive, with boats coming and going on distant Lake Taihu, yet it felt incredibly tranquil. I didn't catch the sunrise or sunset, but I did witness the moonrise. I'd never seen the moon rise before; usually, when I look up, the moon is already high in the sky. There's a small hill directly opposite my room, and to my surprise, I saw the moon slowly ascending. It happened to be the 15th day of the ***** calendar, and the night sky was deep blue and cloudless. Unfortunately, my photography skills aren't great, so I couldn't capture it, and my literary abilities aren't good enough to describe it in words. All I can say is, it was incredibly beautiful. I'm not sure if this is visible every season, or if the moon might rise from a different spot sometimes. My knowledge of astronomy and geography isn't the best, but I imagine the moon doesn't always appear from the exact same location. The greenery between the hotel and Lake Taihu isn't all part of the hotel property, and you can't walk through it as there are fences marking off third-party property. The hotel's back garden is quite large; it takes a good half-hour to wander through every corner. In the evenings, they show open-air movies on the lawn. It's not too cold or hot right now, and the mosquitoes haven't started working yet, so it's quite comfortable. However, I'm not sure if this happens on non-holidays. Around May Day, they even had fireworks in the evenings. Fireworks aren't normally available on weekdays, and I'm not sure about weekends. This is a resort-style hotel. The hotel's facilities are pretty good. I was initially worried about it being outdated since it was renovated in 2016, but it didn't feel old at all, and the decor was quite nice. The parking lot is huge, with both an underground garage and outdoor parking spaces. There's a gym, ping-pong, tennis courts, and a pool. There's also an AI trail, which is a 1km loop around the back garden. They have small three-wheeled scooters, but I'm not sure if they're free or require a QR code payment to use. The staff are all very friendly and provide good service. There are a few areas for improvement. The gym has a sort of cable machine, which is great, but the accessory options are a bit limited. Also, the hotel's signage is a bit unclear. The underground garage is actually on the hotel's 1st floor, but there are no signs indicating how to get from the garage to the public areas on the 1st floor. When exiting the garage to check in, the elevator sign says the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and reception is on the 5th floor. Taihu Hotel's layout is a bit different from other hotels, so I was slightly confused and went to the 3rd floor looking for the lobby, but check-in is actually on the 5th floor. Perhaps it would be helpful to add a note like ”Reception (Check-in)” next to ”Reception” on the signs.

If I had to describe this hotel in four words, it would be: “Always Ready to Help.” After checking in, guests are assigned a dedicated WeChat contact, making it easy to communicate any requests or questions directly with the hotel. The customer service manager responds very quickly and genuinely cares about guests’ comfort and overall experience. Any issues, big or small, are handled efficiently, giving you a true sense that guest satisfaction is their top priority. The hotel offers complimentary laundry and drying facilities, a gym, and a modern, stylish design throughout the property. Upon arrival, the staff helped us with our luggage, and after check-in, our bags were delivered directly to our room free of charge. Such thoughtful service made us feel very welcomed. Breakfast mainly consists of Chinese-style dishes, with Suzhou-style noodles being a special highlight. My favorite part of the stay was the complimentary Hanfu experience! There were many beautiful outfits to choose from, and each set could be worn for up to two hours. Guests are even allowed to wear them outside for sightseeing and photos. My mother and I changed into two different Hanfu outfits during our stay, and it was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to the customer service manager for taking such great care of us, for the fruit platter, and for upgrading us to a room with a bathtub. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Even the television could be adjusted and rotated for better viewing from different angles. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here. The hotel provides disposable hygiene covers for both the toilet seat and bathtub, giving guests extra peace of mind. The entire property has a charming artistic atmosphere, and there is even a cozy reading corner near the laundry room where guests can relax with a book. The location is another major advantage. There are plenty of restaurants and food options right downstairs, making the area lively and convenient. Most attractions are only about 10 minutes away by car, with Didi rides typically costing just RMB 8–10. The high-speed rail station is also within a 15-minute drive. If you have not planned your itinerary yet, the hotel can recommend local tours and travel packages as well. They also provide parcel collection services, carefully storing your deliveries until you arrive to collect them. ANDU Hotel truly puts guest experience first. Highly recommended! 👍

The hotel's location is excellent, and the city view from the room is fantastic. However, it is an older hotel, so the facilities are quite dated. Things like dim lighting and the elevator not showing the current floor are understandable. But the service was really subpar. It was advertised that they have robot service, but all food deliveries had to be picked up from a locker downstairs. What exactly is the robot service used for then? Also, toilet paper wasn't replenished in the bathroom. My booking confirmation stated that breakfast was included, and I had even double-checked it on the platform beforehand. Yet, when I went to the restaurant, I was told my room type didn't include breakfast. I had to call the front desk to confirm, and the result was still no breakfast. So, is this a platform issue or a hotel management problem? Honestly, this was the worst service experience I've had in years.

This experience truly exceeded my expectations, leaving me feeling incredibly comfortable and at ease from start to finish. It definitely deserves a detailed, heartfelt review. From the ambiance to the service and even the small details, you can feel the owner's dedication and professionalism; there's absolutely no cutting corners, which makes me genuinely want to recommend it. Upon arrival, I immediately felt comfortable. The overall environment is clean and tidy, decorated in a cozy yet stylish way. The space is spacious and bright, without any clutter or oppressive feeling. The cleanliness is exceptional; even the corners are spotless, making a great first impression. You can tell a lot of thought went into both the facility layout and the atmosphere, making it very relaxing to be in, with absolutely no discomfort. The service was even more impressive. The staff were gentle, warm, and polite, always patient and meticulous, ready to answer any questions, and quick to respond. They weren't overly enthusiastic nor cold and indifferent, striking the perfect balance. They proactively helped solve problems, were responsible and considerate of customers at every turn, taking care of many small details that made me feel valued and respected. The entire communication process was smooth, and the experience was excellent; the service alone made it worth every penny. The value for money is also outstanding. Both the price and quality are well worth the cost, with no hidden fees or gimmicks. They genuinely focus on service and reputation. Among similar establishments, this one stands out in both hardware and software. The advantages are clear when comparing, truly delivering excellent value for money. Overall, this was a very pleasant, worry-free, and satisfying experience with no complaints whatsoever – smooth and comfortable throughout. You can tell the owner is serious about their work and genuinely cares for every guest, which is truly rare. I will prioritize staying here in the future and will sincerely recommend it to my family, friends, and colleagues. Good businesses deserve to be seen by more people. I wish them continued success and prosperity!

Whenever I return to Suzhou from abroad, I always choose Pingjiang Lodge. It holds a special place in my heart because I used to walk past it and Pingjiang Road every day on my way to school. Plus, the hotel boasts a 500-year-old 'Half Garden.' Though small, it's a quintessential Suzhou garden where you can sit and enjoy tea, complete with parrots that say 'hello.' It's truly a remedy for homesickness, no need to visit other gardens. The service has always been exceptional. During this stay, I mentioned that it had been 40 years since I left Suzhou, and Manager Xiao Tang at the front desk immediately upgraded my room and sent some fruit. Breakfast is decent, and the hotel's homemade toppings are authentic – I look forward to them every morning. The location is absolutely perfect; Pingjiang Road is right outside, and popular attractions like Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum are all incredibly close. There are also various specialty snacks and restaurants nearby. Aside from the crowds of tourists, it's practically flawless. Staying here makes me so happy; it truly feels like coming home.

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations. We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby. We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed. Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel. This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance. We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again. Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed. When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet. Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here. Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around. In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room. When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture? Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc. Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us. These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high! The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help! The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning! The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

There's a charming pedestrian bridge next to the subway, perfect for photos and adding to the overall ambiance. The hotel is also incredibly close to a major shopping mall; cross the bridge, and you're at Vientiane World – truly a superb spot! Service: The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, genuinely caring for every guest and resolving issues remarkably quickly. Ambiance: The Japanese-inspired decor creates a fantastic atmosphere. The rooms are spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable, and tidy. Staying here was a truly delightful experience. GGuest UserI came to Suzhou for Zhou Shen's concert. Due to the terrible hygiene of my originally booked hotel, I made a last-minute change and booked this one. I checked in late at night, and the guy who helped me check in upgraded both of my rooms to executive suites. A huge thank you to him; it truly saved our awful Saturday. The room's hygiene was excellent. When I woke up on Sunday, I discovered there was also a fantastic balcony with a view of 'the big pants' (CCTV Headquarters). Next time I'm in Suzhou, I'll definitely stay here again. It's also super convenient for visiting the Olympic Sports Center and other attractions.
