We have had the most wonderful stay at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome, and the whole experience has been absolutely fantastic.
The resort itself is beautiful — peaceful, luxurious and surrounded by stunning scenery. The grounds are immaculate, the swimming pool is incredible, and there is such a relaxing atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. It really feels like a true escape.
The staff deserve a special mention. Everyone we have encountered has been incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive, always greeting us with a smile and going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The service has genuinely made such a difference.
Our room was lovely, comfortable and spacious, and the whole resort is exceptionally clean and well maintained. There is a real attention to detail that you would expect from Sofitel.
The breakfast is also excellent, with a great choice of food and something for everyone. However, there were not many vegetarian options available, so it would be wonderful to see a wider selection of vegetarian dishes. This is only a small point, though, and certainly didn’t spoil our stay.
Overall, we have absolutely loved our time here. Sofitel Krabi is a beautiful resort with wonderful staff, excellent facilities and a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. We would happily return and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Krabi.

This hotel offers incredible value for money. There were two adults and two children in our family, and even the younger one is nine years old. We booked a Deluxe King Room with a sea view. It had a 1.8-meter king bed and another 1.8-meter sofa bed, which was more than enough for us to sleep comfortably. The balcony was very spacious, and it even included four breakfasts. The hotel staff were tremendous and a definite asset. Thoroughly enjoyed the morning yoga sessions we attended with Sasha, who ensured an inclusive session for all levels. In a lovely setting and away from it all but you will need to taxi, or use shuttle to get anywhere. There is a small bar just outside hotel - left as you exit - ran by a couple of local brothers. It’s worth a visit definitely.
I get it’s an Eco Hotel and independent but many of the hotel facilities are not what you would expect of a 5 star: gym is very rudimentary and some of kit, not in great nick; the rooms - we had a swim up suite - were quite dated furniture-wise and showing signs of extended wear and tear for instance The wi-fi for us was non-existent in room, and very hit and miss (mostly miss) in and around pool area. I’d imagine this might be a big issue for young families…
The breakfast was fine, as was the rooftop bar food.
In summary a pleasant enough stay, but not sure it was value for money at the price, and not comparable really to hotels we’d stayed at beforehand and since on this trip. I’d say a four star at best…FromTHB 3,275

This was my second stay at this hotel. The front desk attendant who spoke Chinese had a lovely, sweet smile, and all the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities were fine, but I do hope for more variety at breakfast. The clear waters and complimentary water activities are a definite plus. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the evening and a stunning starry sky at night.
My only complaint concerns the two-bedroom ocean view pool villa we booked this time. We stayed in room 2302, and the air conditioning vent had a design flaw: it was positioned directly above the main bed, and the noise was so loud that it kept us awake for several nights. We complained to the front desk, and they sent staff to adjust the vent to blow left, right, and upwards, but it didn't make a noticeable difference. We requested a room change, but the hotel was almost fully booked, so they couldn't accommodate us. Our request for an early check-out was also unsuccessful.
To fellow travelers planning a stay: if you're booking a villa, I strongly recommend opting for the upper floor Sala Ocean View Villa. Do NOT book the type I stayed in, otherwise you'll truly regret it – it's a waste of money, and your overall experience will be severely compromised.FromTHB 4,591

While smoking on the balcony near the pool, a cigarette ash burned a hole in the sofa cover. The hotel demanded 11,500 Thai Baht for compensation, claiming it was a 50% discount. I asked the hotel for a purchase receipt, but they didn't provide one. Since we were in a hurry to get to the airport, we paid. We initially booked a room on the second floor, but later switched to a pool villa with direct beach access, which was a fantastic experience. The breakfast was exquisite, with small but delicious portions. The spa experience was also great; the kids had a wonderful time playing in the adjacent hot tub and steam room while waiting. We even bought some essential oils to take home. Even though it was cloudy, we still got to see a beautiful sunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The family room with two queen-size beds was not spacious. There was no room to place our four suitcases, except on the floor.
A major disappointment was the outdated bedding, which had holes in it. I had one pillowcase replaced, but later saw tears/frays at the bottom of the sheet at the foot end and on the bath mat. I also saw a stain on the duvet cover. You should expect good bath and bed linen in any hotel. Therefore, I find the value for money to be insufficient.
The air conditioning worked well but made a lot of noise. The large unit was on the balcony, and every time it turned on and off, you could hear it very clearly through the windows.
Furthermore, our daughters had an unpleasant experience at the swimming pool. Many Indian guests with a Muslim background were staying at the hotel. In the pool, you mainly saw ladies and girls in long swimwear (burkinis). Our girls were sunbathing by the pool and felt very stared at by some men. One of them was on a FaceTime call and turned precisely so that the girls were in view. They also saw him talking and looking at them. This was the first and last time they used the swimming pool.
The hotel's location is excellent. It's close to the boulevard with shops, the beach, many restaurants, massage and nail salons, laundromats, etc. A 7-Eleven is right next to the hotel's back exit.
You can book tours at one of the many tourist agencies available.
All in all, for the reasons mentioned above, we would not recommend this hotel.FromTHB 759

Beautiful hotel in Ao Nang located up in the mountains, surrounded by jungle. The rooms are spacious, wooden, and feel like a little retreat. There’s a shuttle that takes you up to your room, which is fun, but if you want to walk everywhere or walk to the beach easily, this place is probably not for you.
Also, if you’re a light sleeper, keep in mind you’ll hear nature sounds at night. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby though, which is convenient.
The pool is beautiful, but they don’t sell alcohol there, so just know that in advance. Breakfast was okay, maybe 3/5, but the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was really special.FromTHB 1,837

The hotel has a great location, not far from Ao Nang Beach and close to 7-Eleven, Starbucks, and a wide variety of restaurants. However, the hotel's room cleaning management—both before check-in and during the stay—did not meet expectations, likely due to cleaning staff being overwhelmed by high occupancy. On the first day, check-in was scheduled for 14:00, but upon arrival, the staff asked us to wait another 20 minutes. Since the check-in was delayed, I asked if we could get a late check-out. During our stay, housekeeping came early on the first day, but on the second day, we had to request cleaning. Having stayed 3 nights, I doubt they even changed the bed sheets 😅. Also, I had a wound on my foot and bought a bandage from 7-Eleven. When I walked back to the hotel, the bandage fell off, so I went to the front desk to ask for a plaster. The staff checked and said, 'We're completely out of stock.' I had to walk out with the wound exposed and go buy another one at 7-Eleven. The facilities are diverse and well-equipped, with plenty of activities for guests. Overall cleanliness is fair; the curtains are starting to get moldy, and there is mold on the bathroom tile grout. Considering the price, it's acceptable. The breakfast has a good variety, focusing mainly on chicken—if you want pork bacon, you have to ask the staff. There are a lot of Indian and Chinese guests. We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach by IHG, staying on a room package that included breakfast for five days.
Overall, we had a lovely stay, but there were a few things worth sharing—especially for fellow Muslim travellers.
We had assumed the breakfast buffet would be fully halal-friendly. While there were halal options available, pork was also served, so do keep that in mind if that’s important to you.
The biggest frustration was the breakfast package itself. Although we had prepaid for all five days, the hotel had no record of it. Every single morning we had to explain that breakfast was included, which became quite irritating. Thankfully, after raising the issue for the third time, the team finally resolved it. As a kind gesture, they treated us to drinks at one of their restaurants, which we appreciated.
A special anniversary touch was also a little confusing. Mr. Yah mentioned that a small cake would be delivered to our room, but it never arrived. On our final day, we received a brownie instead—perhaps that was the “small cake” he was referring to. That said, we absolutely loved the beautiful welcome message arranged on our bed when we arrived. It made us feel very special.
Our daughter, Ava, had the best time! She absolutely loved the Kids Club and the mini water park, which kept her entertained for hours and made the holiday even more enjoyable for the whole family. The resort’s layout took a little getting used to. It’s spread across multiple levels, so navigating around was slightly confusing on the first day. After that, it became much easier. However, families with strollers or anyone with mobility challenges should be aware that moving between the different levels can be a bit of a challenge.
Despite a few hiccups, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and tried to make things right when issues were raised, and the resort offers a great atmosphere for families. I stayed at Avani Room and I'd recommend it. The only problem I faced was the club across my room plays music until early morning hours and that does get in the way of sleep. It's quite loud.
Otherwise the location and the placement of the hotel and its entry to the main road is spot on. Well balanced 7-11's, classy cafés, just the right spots you want to be at.
They provide breakfast which is fairly better than average. They have a 2 pools, I loved the infinity pool as it has iconic views. Just breathtaking. I also visited the rooftop bar - yet again - the bestest view one can ask for while sipping on some mimosas.

The hotel is well located and once you cross the road you are on the beach. The staff were very helpful particularly Bee who is in the coffee shop and served me a strong macchiato and Arun who helped us the first day with our luggage to our rooms. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The reception staff were friendly, attentive, and provided good service. However, there was a communication mix up during my stay, and I was disappointed that no apology was offered regarding the misunderstanding.
Only one key card was provided for the room, which I assume may be due to the hotel's use of a higher cost key card system as a local brand. While understandable, providing a second key card upon request would have been appreciated.
The rooms were well designed and visually appealing. However, one of the two rooms I stayed in appeared not to be fully prepared, as some decorative elements had been removed, which affected the overall presentation. Additionally, the air conditioner was a bit noisy, which slightly impacted comfort.
On a positive note, the complimentary minibar set was a thoughtful touch and added value to the stay.
Overall, the hotel has many positive aspects, and with a few improvements in communication, room readiness, and maintenance, it could provide an even better guest experience.

A really lovely hotel that feels like a sanctuary in the hustle of Aonang. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent and well priced food options at the onsite restaurant. Do note that this hotel does not serve any alcohol as it is Muslim run/owned. They do however serve excellent mocktails and shakes. This hotel is situated on a hill, about a 15 minute walk to the beach, but there is a shuttle that runs about 6 times a day. This resort exceeded my expectations for the price. I stayed for 3 days and had a very comfortable experience. The pool was absolutely beautiful, and the resort itself was quite grand and lovely. The location was also great, not as chaotic as beachfront resorts, which was a plus, possibly due to us having a rental car. The only minor issue was when we were first assigned a room at the very end of a hallway, it had a strange, damp smell. We requested a different room and they promptly switched us. I absolutely love this hotel and highly recommend it! As a Ctrip Gold Diamond member, I'm quite good at choosing rooms! All the drinks and snacks in the room are complimentary! I had a long layover so stayed here so I was close to Aonang beach and I could check it out. It is a quick walk from the beach so I think it is in a great location. I was hoping to use and lounge at the pool but for an adult only hotel I had thought they would've kept the pool and pool bar open late, but they closed at 8 pm. So early so didn't get to enjoy that. The room was nice and spacious but it smelled heavily of bleach or some type of cleanser the entire night. Shows that they cleaned thouroughly but the airflow wasn't great so felt like I was inhaling chemicals. Had a wonderful stay at B2 Krabi Ao Nang Premier Resort! The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The swimming pool was beautiful and perfect for relaxing after a day of island hopping. The hotel is in a peaceful location, yet close enough to Ao Nang Beach, restaurants, and shops.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach with breathtaking sea views right from the room. The swimming pool is clean, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

The location was pretty good. The sunset was not very good as it is behind the property, but the sunrise probably was! The TV had an English movie channel but it was buggy. The pool bar was a highlight! The bacon was like jerky. The rest of the food was pretty good. The spa is beautiful too with a steam shower! Birds make their nests in the walls!FromTHB 3,280
