Accommodation in Krabi: Best Choices for Every Season

Krabi Maritime Resort

Dry & Hot Season (November - April):

Luxury Resorts: This is the peak tourist season in Krabi, so booking luxury resorts or beachfront hotels in advance is advisable. Areas like Ao Nang, Railay, and the Phi Phi Islands offer upscale accommodations with stunning views and amenities.

Mid-Range Hotels: For those seeking a balance between comfort and cost, Krabi offers a range of mid-range hotels. Look for properties with good air conditioning and pools to cool off.

Budget-Friendly Options: Budget travelers can find hostels and guesthouses, particularly in Krabi Town and Ao Nang. Booking in advance is recommended as prices can rise due to high demand.

Wet Monsoon Season (Mid April - October):

Rainy Season Deals: As this is the low season for tourism, many hotels offer discounts. It’s a great time to enjoy luxury accommodations at a fraction of the cost.

Eco-Lodges and Retreats: For a unique experience, consider staying in eco-lodges or retreats in the jungle, where the monsoon brings out the lushness of the surroundings.

Beachfront Bungalows: Some beachfront bungalows might offer reduced rates during this season. Check for places with good reviews regarding their monsoon preparedness.

Shoulder Seasons (April-May and October-November):

Versatile Options: These months offer a mix of accommodations as the tourist crowd is less dense. From beach resorts to budget hostels, you can find a variety of options without the need to book far in advance.

Villas and Apartments: Consider renting villas or apartments for a more personal and homely experience. These can be especially appealing for longer stays or group travel.

Travel Tips for Accommodation

  • Book in Advance: For the dry season, book your accommodation well in advance to secure the best spots.
  • Check for Seasonal Offers: Keep an eye out for seasonal promotions and offers, especially during the monsoon season.
  • Consider Location: Choose accommodations based on your activities. Beachfront for relaxation, near the town for nightlife, and close to nature for jungle treks.

By choosing the right accommodation for your travel season, you can greatly enhance your Krabi experience, ensuring comfort and convenience regardless of the weather.

We had an overall enjoyable stay at Sofitel in Krabi, with a few areas that could be improved—especially given the expectations of a five-star property. The location is a clear highlight. The beach is calm and relatively private, without the usual crowd of boats, which made for a very relaxing environment. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety and consistently good quality. The overall decor of the lobby and restaurants was also beautifully done, creating a pleasant and refined atmosphere for both breakfast and dinner. However, service was somewhat inconsistent. Room service could be slow at times, and on a few occasions, items like trash left outside the room were not cleared promptly. There were also communication lapses—for example, we had requested assistance to coordinate with an elephant sanctuary, but the message was not properly followed through between staff members. There were also minor maintenance issues, such as a non-functioning balcony light, which we chose not to escalate but would have expected to be addressed proactively at this level. For a family room, we expected more thoughtful child-friendly design. Simple things like a stool for children to reach the sink were missing, which made basic routines unnecessarily difficult and less safe. The pool facilities were decent but not outstanding, and cleanliness could be improved. In particular, the kiddie pool had visible debris and bugs, which made it less comfortable for young children. We also found the pool safety setup confusing and somewhat concerning. There were clear warnings stating that there are no lifeguards and that parents are responsible for supervision. However, there was consistently a staff member seated by the pool under a shaded area, appearing like a lifeguard but not actively monitoring the pool. This created a misleading impression and could give families a false sense of security. During our stay, we also witnessed a situation where a child became stuck under part of the pool obstacle structure, and assistance had to be actively requested from nearby staff. While the situation was resolved, it reinforced our concern that supervision and safety measures could be more proactive. Given the number of safety warnings posted around the pool, we were surprised that no trained lifeguard was present, especially as the current setup may give families a false sense of supervision. One of the main drawbacks was the pricing structure. Many services and items felt excessively priced, including: • Food at the on-site restaurants (significantly higher than comparable options outside the resort) • Transport and excursion arrangements (e.g., speedboat pricing well above market rates) • Activity rentals, such as the Sub Blue underwater scooter (350 THB++ for 30 minutes), which felt disproportionately expensive • Additional charges for small requests, including delivery fees for food within the property These added costs created a sense of being “nickel-and-dimed,” which detracted from the overall experience. Overall, while we appreciated the beautiful location, excellent breakfast, and well-designed spaces, we felt that service consistency, family-friendliness, safety clarity, and value for money could be improved to better align with five-star expectations.

The resort is located very close to Ao Nang, but at the same time it is completely by itself. A real perfect location. Getting to and from by boat and Monkey trail makes for a really special place. The restaurants, food and breakfast were amazing. Loved the monkeys that would come right on to our deck. Would easily come back here again with my family

This was my second stay at this hotel. The front desk attendant who spoke Chinese had a lovely, sweet smile, and all the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities were fine, but I do hope for more variety at breakfast. The clear waters and complimentary water activities are a definite plus. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the evening and a stunning starry sky at night. My only complaint concerns the two-bedroom ocean view pool villa we booked this time. We stayed in room 2302, and the air conditioning vent had a design flaw: it was positioned directly above the main bed, and the noise was so loud that it kept us awake for several nights. We complained to the front desk, and they sent staff to adjust the vent to blow left, right, and upwards, but it didn't make a noticeable difference. We requested a room change, but the hotel was almost fully booked, so they couldn't accommodate us. Our request for an early check-out was also unsuccessful. To fellow travelers planning a stay: if you're booking a villa, I strongly recommend opting for the upper floor Sala Ocean View Villa. Do NOT book the type I stayed in, otherwise you'll truly regret it – it's a waste of money, and your overall experience will be severely compromised.

Lobby design and view are very nice and impressive. During check-in, there is also a comfortable air-conditioned area to choose from, which is a big plus 👍 The room layout feels quite small. The balcony pool is rather disappointing—very small and not practical for swimming, more for looks than use. On the positive side, the bed is large, clean, and very comfortable, making the stay pleasant. The location is quite remote, so it is more suitable for a relaxing staycation rather than going out for activities. Breakfast is also good and enjoyable. Overall, it was still a nice and comfortable stay experience.

The hotel service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Yusof and Ra. The facilities are great for families. The pool is not very big, but it’s just nice for kids to enjoy. There is also a playroom, which is a nice addition. The food we ordered was delicious, although it took a bit longer to be prepared. The room was comfortable and came with a balcony, which made it convenient for smokers. The only downside was that the towels had a slight smell. The hotel is very convenient, with easy access to halal local food, a pharmacy, laundry services, massage, and a salon. Overall, we loved our stay!

We arrived to our room being sweltering hot. In fact it was cooler outside than it was inside. I understand that with current fuel prices being so high, that they aren’t going to leave the air con all day anticipating our arrival. They offered us a pass to put into the slot so the air con wouldn’t turn off if we left the room, but with our room being at the top of the mountain. I did expect for them to bring it to our room rather than making us treck back down and up again. The room wasn’t clean… shower head was black with mould, when pointed out this was rectified. We upgraded to a room with a bath but couldn’t use it as it leaked and flooded the bathroom when using. We notified the hotel, they sent someone to fix it but no compensation was offered despite paying an extra 5,000 baht for this feature and only being able to use it once. Breakfast is like a horror show. I can only describe it as horrendous. My advice is save your money and don’t add breakfast to your room rate. Baked beans were cold, French toast was a thin slice of hoavis stuck to the bottom of the metal warmer. Yoghurt had flies in it - the only thing mildly edible was the egg station. Staff at breakfast was incredibly rude… we asked for some ice and lemon for our water, slices of lemon were thrown down at my husband, again notified reception and nothing was done. This is a Muslim hotel so no alcohol is served at the bar, not a big deal as they allow you to bring in drink from the 7/11 across the road but it’s not really advertised very well. Pool is lovely and the pool bar staff were nice, the rooms are good and shuttle service was ok. We only had a one issue of it taking half an hour to arrive. It is walkable if you’re fit - unfortunately I couldn’t walk up due to illness so had to wait out the 30 minutes. Location is good. Ao Nang beach is about 20/25 minute walk but there are free shuttles (one way) offered by the hotel when they feel like it, but Grab Taxi’s are cheap and easy to get. Ao Nang night market is brilliant and about a 15 minute taxi ride away. Would say it isn’t really worth the money is and more like a 3 star. It could be such a great hotel with improvements. A bit disappointed with it considering it was part of our honeymoon trip and feel we were let down.

I love this hotel, the rooms are large and spacious. Breakfast is fine for a Turk:) They give you a Thai massage when you check in. There is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel, the sushi is excellent. There are also discount deals with Reeve Beach Club in Ao nang beach. Definitely try Reeve. The cleanliness is fine. In short, it is a nice hotel where you can stay in Krabi in terms of both location and facilities. Transportation to Railay beach is very easy, you can reach the street where phi phi tours and tour companies where you can join many tours are located in 5 minutes on foot. We loved it, thanks for everything:)

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! It's right by Ao Nang Beach, and the hotel's pool club connects directly to the beach. The location is at the southernmost tip of Ao Nang Beach. The breakfast is incredibly extensive – we practically ate it as brunch every day and couldn't fit in lunch. It's about 2 kilometers from the Ao Nang Night Market, which is further north on the beach, while the hotel is at the south end. However, the entire 3-kilometer stretch of beach is the most bustling, and you'll want to explore it anyway. So, a walk to the night market and back isn't a problem at all. The hotel staff are warm and friendly, especially to Chinese guests. Kids will love the water slides, and adults can enjoy the beach club. In the evenings, there are even fire shows and live performers – absolutely fantastic!

We had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was big, spacious, and comfortable, with a great hot shower which was perfect after long days out exploring. The hotel itself has two swimming pools, both of which were nice places to relax, although only one had cushioned loungers. Breakfast had a good variety of options each morning, so it was easy to find something you felt like starting the day with. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay, which always makes a big difference. There are quite a lot of stairs around the property, although elevators are available. Because of that, it might not be the easiest place for someone with limited mobility. I’d describe this as a great city-style hotel — it’s close to pretty much anything you might want, and the airport is only about a 30-minute commute away, which is very convenient. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Perfect location at the end of the beach area, less busy. We were able to walk straight out onto the beach or straight out onto the street where there were loads of shops and restaurants. The hotel is right near Krabi Beach. I highly recommend this room type; it has direct pool access. It can be a bit hard to book, though. Because the hotel is a bit older, some corners of the rooms show their age, but overall it's really good. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. Most importantly, the staff are truly exceptional. On our last day, after coming back from the beach to pick up our luggage, I just wanted to use the restroom to change clothes. But the staff led me to an empty room and told me I could shower and change for free, even providing towels. It was incredibly thoughtful! The hotel restaurant's food is also great. Highly recommend!

Great resort. I really liked the location, just outside of Ao Nang, surrounded by quiet nature. It genuinely feels like a little oasis away from everything. The pool was a big highlight for me. No loud music, no alcohol, just a calm and relaxed atmosphere without drunk or noisy crowds. It made it easy to actually enjoy the surroundings. The property itself is beautiful, with a pond in the middle and lots of greenery and flowers everywhere. Everything feels well maintained and peaceful. It’s also very convenient, about a 5 minute ride or a 30 minute walk to the main pier. The free shuttle is super handy, and Grab or Bolt work fine too. The hotel is relatively close to Ao Nang Beach, about 800 meters away. We had a Deluxe room with two beds (one large and one single), and the mattresses and pillows were very comfortable! The room was excellent, freshly renovated, spacious, with a balcony to sit on, and a large bathroom. We were on the 5th floor in the second building (further from the road). Our windows overlooked a cliff! The view from the window was amazing! It seems that the rooms in this building are wider than in the first, judging by the window width. Road noise was barely audible, but there was some noise from a central air conditioning system. The reception is also in the second building, and yes, you need to walk up a bit, but it's not a big deal. Breakfasts were quite good, not a huge variety of dishes, but: hot dishes and snacks changed daily, there was an excellent fruit section, and amazing yogurt! Good coffee too! The staff was very friendly and polite! Whenever we put out the 'make up room' tag (during housekeeping hours), our room was almost always prioritized. We'd leave for an hour or an hour and a half, and when we returned, the room was already cleaned. Someone mentioned that the corridors weren't well-cleaned – I don't agree. I don't focus on minor details. There's an excellent pool! And guests in the second building used it less, so I often had it to myself in the evenings! Next to the hotel, in a neighboring building, there's a self-service laundry. Very convenient: 130 baht for washing, drying, detergent, and fabric softener. The hotel had decent Wi-Fi; it was sufficient for all our needs. We stayed at this hotel for 14 nights, and it was a wonderful vacation!

The spacious, perfectly clean rooms—especially the ones with mountain-facing balconies and Jacuzzis—and the two stunning pools were definite highlights. The staff was incredibly kind and professional, helping with everything from airport transfers to a great breakfast buffet. A few things to note before booking: the hotel is tucked away on a steep, sloped road. This is great for escaping the noisy main streets, and they do provide a handy shuttle to the Ao Nang center if you don't feel like walking. Overall, it's a wonderful, scenic retreat with top-notch service!”

Stayed at Infinity Ao Nang recently and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. It started with the parking space in Front of the Hotel, the Reception came to the entrance to welcome us and asked for the ID/ Passport/ Credit Card and we got some refreshment. I am a Permanent Resident and this raise sometimes questions, because it's not so common. They only asked for my Driver License instead of my ID card, I guess because there is the Name in latin letters and Non Residence would have the Passport Number instead of the ID card number. The checkin was very fast done and needed only the email and two signatures. The room have a lot of space, a romantic lightning even in the bathroom. And it's direct at the beach. All staff are super friendly. Even the internship in the Restaurant know was a good service is. And at the checkout we was asked to wait 5 min.. But it take less than 2 minutes. I work for hotels and know what is going on there and this is really impressive. Of course it will be in the high season not always possible to be that fast. The breakfast buffet was more a brunch than just breakfast. From smoked salmon to cheese, even noodles with cheese, from chok to different curries was all there, different kind of bread and pastries, of course fresh fruits, a egg station and a good selection of juice and a coffee. Not every hotel offer in the low season a buffet and even less a huge buffet like this. The location is direct on the sea and you don't see a lot of the area around, what gives 4 Stars. To go to a restaurant outside or see something nice, you need to drive. For us was this not the big issue, because we arrived anyway with the car and in 5 min. you find nice places. Also the street to the Hotel is small and some construction sides, but the people there are also all helpful. The only part where the hotel could improve a little was the fish pond next to the Restaurant, there would be a cleaning needed. What would maybe be done at the next day. We was only one night there and this was not a real issue. But the reason why only 4 of 5 points. All another part of the hotel was in a great condition and very clean. We loved it there and I am sure we will have some another stop overs there

We chose this hotel mainly because of the sea view — and it became the highlight of our stay. From the 4th floor, the view of the ocean and sunset is absolutely beautiful. In the evening, it’s very pleasant to sit on the balcony with a cocktail and watch the sun go down. The balcony is not very big, but it’s perfect for a quiet moment for two. The room was clean and well maintained, with good housekeeping and room service. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, there were a few downsides. Breakfast is officially served until 10:30, but when we came between 9:40 and 10:00, many items were already gone and not refilled. The food is tasty, but the variety is quite limited. We also booked a sea-view room like in the photos, but were given a room opposite the building. The balcony had a partial road view and only a partial sea view — not the full “postcard” view we expected. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere is nice, the location is good, and the sunsets are truly amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but advise confirming the room view in advance and coming early for breakfast 😉 If anyone had a front-facing sea view room — was it worth the extra cost?

It’s quite secluded which is why we picked it. It’s quiet and honestly a paradise. However if you want to do loads of stuff and activities you will need to get a taxi/grab/bolt everywhere, there is very little to do in walking distance and there are no paths to walk for the most part, so it really depends on what you are looking for. They have a small vehicle which goes to ao nang 4 times a day. Once in ao nang (20 mins away) you can get boats to Railay beach, or other islands. It’s busy and touristy in ao nang so the shellsea is a nice escape from this. 20 mins the other way is Krabi town which we preferred, with the mountain monument (highly recommend but only if you are fit!!). A grab/bolt here is about 180baht each way. The hotel breakfast is lovely with coffees made to order. There is another restaurant which overlooks the beach and sea which is really nice too. The pool area overlooks the bay and is quiet and peaceful. Very well maintained and clean. There are lots of activities on at the hotel if you prefer to stay around the hotel such as Pilates, yoga, Muay Thai, kayaking, etc. Staff are friendly and attentive.
