This year's USS Halloween Horror Nights brings the horror closer to home with a theme inspired by familiar Singapore sights and stories. At the centre of the nightmare is the Karang Guni Man, who returns with a cursed collection of forgotten objects and terrifying secrets.

What Is USS Halloween?

USS Halloween

USS Halloween Horror Nights is an annual Halloween event held at Universal Studios Singapore. During selected nights, the theme park transforms into a terrifying playground filled with haunted houses, scare zones, live shows and roaming scare actors.

Halloween Horror Nights first arrived at Universal Studios Singapore in 2011 and has become one of the biggest Halloween events in Singapore. Every year, the event introduces new themes and original horror experiences, including stories inspired by local legends and Singapore culture.

For 2026, Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights 14, also known as HHN14, brings visitors into a darker version of familiar Singapore experiences.

Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights 14 runs on selected nights from 25 September to 1 November 2026.

Before checking in, I communicated with the front desk and was able to check in early without any hassle, which saved me the trouble of dragging my luggage around. This was particularly thoughtful. The room was much larger than I expected, with an open and unconfining space. The twin room layout was very comfortable, and there was a leisure sofa by the window where I could relax and enjoy the river and city views. The bathroom had a wet and dry separation, and the facilities were well-maintained, making the overall impression clean and tidy. I especially want to commend the staff member Basravi. Their service attitude was excellent, they patiently answered all my questions, and handled things efficiently, leaving a great impression. The Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore's location is also convenient, with river views right outside the window, making it easy to get around and explore. Overall, my stay was very comfortable, and I would consider this hotel again next time I visit Singapore.

The hotel upgraded me to a corner top 3 floor unit without being prompt as they aware it was my birthday that day. A birthday cake greeted me personally by a staff member. Facilities were a bit run down, no bathrobe were provided. Water closet do not have bidet function water pressure can be improved, wash basin hot water takes quite a while to heat up. TV channels were limited especially sports channel and entertainment channel. AC is cold enough but noises were evident especially in middle of night. All day dining not available as Cafe at lobby were closed at between meals and no one picked up phone for room service at about 3pm but luckily plenty of food options at surrounding area like Chijmes. Pool a little too small but service staff were lively and cheerful and gym facilities were modern but shoulder/chest compression station was sorely missed.

1. The location is super convenient, just a 3-5 minute walk from City Hall MRT station. It's very close to attractions like Gardens by the Bay (if you're up for a walk, it's about 2.8km, which felt manageable when I walked back to the hotel from the Flower Dome with my kids at night). 2. The hotel facilities are simple, clean, and fresh, with no unpleasant odors. Most importantly, it's very quiet, which is great for a light sleeper like me. 3. The front desk service was excellent. They could communicate in Chinese and even allowed me to check in early; I arrived at 11 AM and was able to check in right away. 4. Kids under 6 eat breakfast for free, making it very family-friendly. 5. There's a pool with both shallow and deep sections, perfect for young children to play in. 6. Dining is very easy; just turn left out of the hotel and cross the street to Funan Mall, where you can find plenty of food options and an affordable supermarket to buy water cheaply.

## Lobby & Public Areas Upon entering the lobby, you're immediately struck by the spaciousness. The high atrium feels airy and open, never oppressive. The overall architecture features strong, clean lines, and the geometric interplays have a distinct deconstructivist feel – great for photos. The front desk layout is efficient, and check-in was quick, with almost no waiting. ## Breakfast The variety is excellent, with Western, Singaporean, Indian, and other Asian stalls. There were also very friendly Chinese-speaking staff. The freshly prepared egg dishes and fresh juices were high quality. The dining area is spacious, so it never felt crowded or noisy. ## Room I stayed in a club room this time, and the space was noticeably larger than hotels in a similar price range. The layout is expansive, not at all cramped, which is a rare find in land-scarce Singapore. The mini-bar, ironing facilities, coffee machine, and tea set were all comprehensive. The bathroom fixtures and amenities felt high-quality, and the oversized bathtub with bath salts was perfect for washing away a full day's travel fatigue. ## Service Overall, the service was professional and understated. From the doorman to housekeeping, everyone was polite and measured in their approach – not overly fawning, but you still felt well-cared for. A special shout-out to the Korean lady at the 38th-floor club; even though she didn't speak Chinese, she communicated meticulously in English with a constant smile, which was both elegant and warm. ## Summary High-end facilities, excellent service – perfect for guests who prioritize quality and spaciousness. I would definitely stay again. ### Complimentary Pacific Club Access: I missed both afternoon tea and happy hour due to being out sightseeing. The real charm of this hotel, in my opinion, lies in its ambiance, excellent service, prime location, and fantastic breakfast spread. And don't forget the amazing spa within the hotel! It's a perfect place to unwind after a long day of walking. Navigating to the subway station via the underground passage can be a bit confusing, so I recommend walking above ground. You can also easily walk to Clarke Quay, which is a departure point for river cruises.

It was convenient to have a 24-hour FairPrice and McDonald's nearby. I wouldn't recommend it for families, but it's a good choice for couples or solo travelers ^^.

The environment and facilities are excellent, living up to the image of a high-end hotel. The lobby decoration is particularly outstanding. Large malls are located on both sides, making shopping and dining very convenient. The service is professional and attentive. I'd like to share two small details: Firstly, the room has a capsule coffee machine. When I first checked in, I wasn't familiar with its operation and accidentally wasted the first capsule. It wasn't broken, just had a few small holes poked in it. I casually placed it with the other unused capsules. The next day, I found it had been replaced with a new one, which shows that the room was thoroughly cleaned and organized. Secondly, because I had an early flight, I needed to check out in the early morning. The hotel offers an express check-out process. You just need to fill out the check-out form in advance, drop it along with your room card at a designated spot, and you can leave directly. This definitely deserves praise.

The mini-bar fridge is complimentary, offering three cans of drinks: Sprite, Coke, and Coke Zero. The hotel is undergoing renovations in 2025, so it's not as old as some previous reviews might suggest; everything feels new. The toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, all provided in large pump bottles rather than small, single-use ones, and they have a lovely lemongrass scent. A razor is also provided at the vanity. Check-out is at 11 AM, but a complimentary late check-out until 12:30 PM is available.

I stayed here ten years ago when it was still Le Meridien. I remembered there was a path directly to Universal Studios, so I booked it. Turns out the path has been permanently closed, and you can't enter and exit Universal multiple times anymore 😂. First, the pros: 1. Convenient location, very close to the Imbiah MRT station. 2. Free bottled water provided, not direct drinking water with unknown filter elements. 3. The pool is beautiful and photo-worthy. Now, the cons: 1. Proactive service awareness is lacking. I presented my child's passport during check-in, but no children's amenities were offered proactively. 2. I stayed for two nights. On the second day, housekeeping only made the bed and emptied the trash. They even wrapped my compression socks directly into the bedding 😂. The hair left in the bathroom from washing my hair on the first day wasn't cleaned either. No toothbrushes, cotton swabs, or anything were provided. 3. The lighting is dim, which I don't particularly like; it felt eerie at night. 4. The pillows were extremely high. I left a note asking for a flatter pillow, but it wasn't replaced. It was too late, so I just made do. The bed felt so soft it sagged, and I woke up with a backache. 5. I only found out it was a connecting room upon check-in. I could hear coughing from next door in the middle of the night.

There's plenty of space to unpack luggage without feeling cramped. On the rooftop, there's an outdoor pool and a 24-hour gym – perfect for a relaxing swim after a day of shopping. The hotel is famous for its Carousel buffet restaurant, where guests have breakfast. The food selection is extensive, covering Chinese, Western, and Nanyang flavors. There are many options like laksa, local toast, seafood, and desserts. Breakfast is served for a long period, so you don't have to rush even if you wake up late. Upgraded rooms come with executive lounge access, offering light meals and drinks all day. Some front desk staff speak Chinese, and they are very prompt with luggage storage and taxi bookings. This time, visitors enter an abandoned broadcast studio where the cameras never stopped rolling. As you move through old sets and recordings inspired by Singapore's darkest legends, the line between what is happening on screen and what is happening around you becomes increasingly unclear.
