If you're in Great Stone for business, this is your top hotel choice. There's a Chinese restaurant right downstairs, but be aware that the chef stops taking orders at 8:30 PM. No worries though, there's a mini-mart in the lobby where you can grab instant noodles and such. The hotel also offers two hours of complimentary sauna use. It's about a 20-minute walk to the Sinomach office building – just head out, turn right, and keep walking straight for a few blocks. Overall, I recommend staying here. The breakfast is average; it'll fill you up, but don't expect too much. In this industrial area, the restaurant also serves lunch to local workers, which is pretty significant. On my last day, when paying for lunch, I realized I didn't have enough cash and my Bank of Communications credit card wouldn't work. Luckily, a guy from Sinotrans stepped in and exchanged 500 yuan with me, saving me from an awkward situation. Big thanks to my fellow countryman!
For a transit foreigner in Minsk airport this hotel was a real barging. Not having any means of communication in Belarus, we asked relatives to book it from Ukraine and it was done very easy via Trip.com. A girl at the reception was very supportive and sent a yandex taxy to take us from airport for affordable price. Moreover, paying for one night we were able to check-in at 9 a.m. Another pluses were welcoming hotel's cat and nice, peaceful forest around the hotel. Of course, price of USD 70 a bit high, but it is Belarus, after all, and everything in the city was more expensive plus USD 40 - 60 for a taxy to get there.
We arrived quite late, so we chose this newly opened hotel, which is the closest to the airport. Here's my neutral review:
1. This hotel is owned by Chinese people, with lots of Chinese descriptions and signs. The front desk staff, a very gentle lady, had an excellent attitude.
2. The only restaurant available is on the first floor. It offers both Chinese and Western menus. We had some really good 'mouth-watering chicken' (Kou Shui Ji) and tomato meatball soup. The prices aren't cheap, but the portions are huge! Two people ordering three dishes were stuffed and couldn't even finish it all.
3. The room was very new and clean. There are no businesses or much traffic nearby, so it's quiet. The bed was really wide, not like the typical 0.8m wide beds found in most hotels.
4. It's very close to the Mound of Glory (14km). If you're looking to visit this Soviet monument, you can check in here first, then head to the city center for other attractions (which aren't that interesting). The photo is of the Mound of Glory – it's definitely worth a visit!
