Specifically came to Suzhou's Dongshan for the white jade loquats this weekend, but opted not to stay at Dongshan Hotel this time. Instead, we drove an hour back to the city to stay at Wu Palace. It was my first time here, and our room was on the first floor. The lobby is on the third floor, so we had to take the elevator down to the first floor, then navigate a bit to find our room. With two elderly people, it was a little inconvenient. However, my family unanimously agreed that the hotel's ambiance is quite unique, and decided that next time we visit Suzhou, we'll definitely choose Wu Palace again (they specifically told me to book a room on the 3rd floor)😁. It's loquat season now, and the two loquat trees in the courtyard are perfectly in theme. Amidst the white walls and black tiles, loquats hang from the branches. I woke up early to snap a few photos📸 of the loquat trees. Being under the trees, everything felt so fresh🤤.

This French hotel, much like a French car, always surprises you in unexpected ways. Can you believe a hotel costing only a few hundred RMB comes with a 36cm Simmons mattress, topped with a thick down pad? The cups are in a UV sterilizer, and the dimmable spotlights with rotary knobs are a huge plus. The recessed ceiling lights at the entrance, the seamless curved glass and upholstered walls, and the stone floors truly show the care and effort put into the design. The only quirky thing is the faucet's distance from the basin, which is a bit puzzling.

This past Chinese New Year, I had a fantastic stay in their Spring Festival themed room! So, for the May Day holiday, I decided to return to Shangri-La and try their Cherry Blossom themed room. This trip was primarily to celebrate my elderly relative's 70th birthday. We specifically chose a private dining room at the hotel's Jiangnan灶 (Jiangnan Cauldron) restaurant on the first floor. It was a wonderful family gathering for lunch; the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The birthday celebration was a great success! After lunch, it was already past 2 PM, but unfortunately, the Cherry Blossom themed room wasn't ready yet. The front desk suggested an upgrade to the Super Suzhou themed room, and it certainly didn't disappoint! The decor perfectly captivated the kids. Besides playing with the soccer ball in the room, we also spent some free time at the outdoor basketball court and slide on the 5th floor, which is also a great spot for family activities. The Horizon Club is still an excellent choice, offering many amenities. Although we didn't get the Cherry Blossom themed room, they still provided a complimentary cherry blossom-themed afternoon tea. Furthermore, the afternoon tea time and evening light meals on the 40th floor were both excellent! For breakfast, I recommend the buffet on the 2nd floor; there are more options, and the duck blood vermicelli soup is absolutely delicious – a must-have every time! Overall, I'm very satisfied with my stay and will definitely choose to stay at the Nanjing Shangri-La Hotel again if I have the opportunity.

My stay at the InterContinental Nanjing Greenland Financial Center was absolutely incredible, truly living up to its reputation as Nanjing's landmark 'cloud hotel.' The hotel is centrally located, with direct subway access, making getting around super convenient. The high-floor rooms offer breathtaking views, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Xuanwu Lake, Purple Mountain, and the cityscape of Jinling. Both the sunset and the nighttime city lights create a truly atmospheric experience. The room was spacious and spotless, with soft, comfortable bedding and well-equipped bathroom facilities; the attention to detail was impressive. The staff were warm and attentive, check-in was efficient, and they proactively offered helpful guidance. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring authentic Nanjing flavors, and the high-altitude pool and gym facilities were excellent. The overall environment is upscale and elegant, and the service is meticulous. I highly recommend it for both leisure and business travel – I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Nanjing! Special mention to Bailyn and Steven, whose service was particularly excellent, warm, and gentle.

If I had to describe this hotel in four words, it would be: “Always Ready to Help.” After checking in, guests are assigned a dedicated WeChat contact, making it easy to communicate any requests or questions directly with the hotel. The customer service manager responds very quickly and genuinely cares about guests’ comfort and overall experience. Any issues, big or small, are handled efficiently, giving you a true sense that guest satisfaction is their top priority. The hotel offers complimentary laundry and drying facilities, a gym, and a modern, stylish design throughout the property. Upon arrival, the staff helped us with our luggage, and after check-in, our bags were delivered directly to our room free of charge. Such thoughtful service made us feel very welcomed. Breakfast mainly consists of Chinese-style dishes, with Suzhou-style noodles being a special highlight. My favorite part of the stay was the complimentary Hanfu experience! There were many beautiful outfits to choose from, and each set could be worn for up to two hours. Guests are even allowed to wear them outside for sightseeing and photos. My mother and I changed into two different Hanfu outfits during our stay, and it was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to the customer service manager for taking such great care of us, for the fruit platter, and for upgrading us to a room with a bathtub. The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable. Even the television could be adjusted and rotated for better viewing from different angles. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here. The hotel provides disposable hygiene covers for both the toilet seat and bathtub, giving guests extra peace of mind. The entire property has a charming artistic atmosphere, and there is even a cozy reading corner near the laundry room where guests can relax with a book. The location is another major advantage. There are plenty of restaurants and food options right downstairs, making the area lively and convenient. Most attractions are only about 10 minutes away by car, with Didi rides typically costing just RMB 8–10. The high-speed rail station is also within a 15-minute drive. If you have not planned your itinerary yet, the hotel can recommend local tours and travel packages as well. They also provide parcel collection services, carefully storing your deliveries until you arrive to collect them. ANDU Hotel truly puts guest experience first. Highly recommended! 👍

The service was excellent. Even our taxi driver mentioned how good the hotel's service was. The soundproofing was great, and the room was very smart. When the robot couldn't deliver our takeaway in time, a staff member proactively brought it to our room so we wouldn't have to wait too long. We arrived at the hotel quite early and requested two adjacent rooms. Jiang Jiang, a hotel staff member, actively helped us coordinate and even allowed us to check into one of the cleaned rooms early so we wouldn't miss out on our sightseeing. We had a wonderful trip to Yangzhou! The Slender West Lake on May 5th was absolutely beautiful!

I originally booked two different room types for three nights and needed to switch rooms in the middle. Duncan was incredibly thoughtful and upgraded my room, allowing me to enjoy the city view from the Asia Pacific Building for three days, which was a fantastic experience. The room layout was exactly to my liking, and it was spotlessly clean with excellent air conditioning. The breakfast on the first floor offered a wide variety of local specialties; the large meat buns and beef potstickers were delicious. From the 56th floor, you could see Xuanwu Lake and Jiming Temple, and I really enjoyed the wontons. The hotel is right next to the subway station, making it super convenient to get to scenic spots and the train station. This trip, except for one night when I was too tired and took a taxi back from Confucius Temple, I used the subway for all my travel. Next time I visit, I will definitely choose Jinling Hotel again and try out Meiyuan.

When I booked, I saw that it was a newly opened hotel, so I thought it would be pretty good. And it definitely exceeded my expectations. Several young men were there to help us as soon as we entered, and the manager helped us upstairs, opened the door, and carried our luggage. Most importantly, the room didn't have that unpleasant smell of new renovations; even the elevator smelled nice. The room was also much more spacious than other hotels in the same price range, clean and comfortable. We had a very comfortable stay, and both adults and children were very satisfied with the breakfast. In short, it was truly excellent and fantastic. There were some services we didn't get to experience this time due to time constraints, but I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I have the chance. The pictures were taken before check-out. I sincerely recommend it, hence this positive review. I hope it continues to be this good.

An absolutely fantastic experience, I have to give it a huge, enthusiastic thumbs-up! The hotel facilities are very new and incredibly well-maintained, with all the little details exuding that 'old money' charm. The location is also excellent, not far from all the famous attractions, making it super convenient. I particularly want to commend the service; all the staff were wonderful, especially the ladies at the front desk. They were so thoughtful and attentive, proactively upgrading my room type and showing such kindness to my child. When we checked out, they even specially custom-made a souvenir room key card for my little one! The duck blood vermicelli soup at breakfast was also delicious, and you could even order various types of eggs, haha!

I had a wonderful experience with my 1 year old son at the intercontinental. Because it was his first birthday the hotel decorated the room for him and I’m really appreciative of that. The room was clean and spacious, Room service was good and the staff really went out of their way to help and accommodate us. I wish they had children’s menu to make things better when traveling with a baby. However, the hotel did help me by making vegetable sides for my child. I’ve stayed at this hotel countless times and I’d recommend it to anyone. Happy New Year 🎆

GGuest UserI stayed at the Nanfang Hotel's Building 8, 'Yingjie,' in Suzhou over the weekend. It was just renovated late last year with a new 'Neo-Chinese' decor. As you enter, to your left is a long, open wardrobe and a luggage rack, which were very convenient. Then there's a separate wet and dry vanity area and a bathtub, with a sliding glass door separating the room from the washroom. The room itself was quite spacious, with a round table and a sofa by the window. Outside, lush rockeries and greenery provided a refreshing view, and being able to open the window for ventilation was especially pleasant this time of year. The toiletries were L'Occitane, and there was even a Pantene hair essence capsule with the hairdryer. As for the bedding, the mattress was on the firmer side, so comfort will vary for different people. What was hard to understand were some of the renovation details. The grout lines in the tiles were sloppily done, a clear departure from what you'd expect in a five-star hotel. This was even more noticeable under the sink drain. I'd suggest the hotel add a trash can there; it would both hide the flaw and be convenient for women to discard small items when using the sink. The breakfast overall was good. I recommend the 'red soup noodles with braised pork,' which had an authentic flavor. The fresh pork pan-fried buns were also surprisingly delicious – slightly sweet and very juicy. The hotel's location truly lives up to its five-star reputation. Situated on Shiquan Street, it's incredibly convenient for getting around. Wangshi Garden is right across from the hotel entrance on Chengqiao Road, so you can visit early to avoid the crowds. Plus, many popular eateries on Shiquan Street don't have queues before noon. The surrounding streets like Fenghuang Street, Wuqueqiao Street, Cuku Alley, Chaiyuan, and the small alleys behind Shiquan Street are also perfect for a city walk. Shiquan Street is bustling, but as soon as you enter the hotel, it becomes wonderfully quiet. If you're tired from exploring, you can return to the hotel to stroll around Jiang Weiguo's former residence or other ancient buildings and rock gardens, and enjoy the peaceful, serene atmosphere. If you want to explore the urban area of Suzhou in a short time, Nanfang Hotel is a five-star recommendation.

WWangmisi Miss WangHaving stayed at many hotels in Suzhou, I feel this one is an easily overlooked gem. I booked two terrace rooms and called ahead to say we might arrive early. The front desk proactively upgraded us to lake view rooms. The rooms are very spacious with great lake views. What I think is particularly good about this hotel is its incredibly fast service response. From concierge, front desk, and housekeeping to the butlers Haitang and Meigui, everyone was faster and more enthusiastic than at typical five-star hotels. The value for money is exceptional. The restaurant is also worth a visit.

GGuest User## Environment: The hotel is located right by the Qinhuai River, so you step out straight into scenic views – it's beautiful, there's great food, and a lively atmosphere. We booked a street-view room, which admittedly was a bit noisier, but we had such packed days that we slept soundly every night, so it wasn't a major issue. ## Room: The room included complimentary fruit upon check-in, two facial masks daily, and small drinks in the mini-bar. The lighting in the room was a bit dim; it would have been much better if there was a brighter main light or a desk lamp. ## Service: I really want to commend the service. Even before we checked in, the hotel called to ask if we needed to reserve a parking spot and our approximate check-in time. They proactively sent the hotel's location to ensure we wouldn't have trouble finding it in the scenic area, which was very thoughtful. After we checked out and left, we realized at the airport that I had lost my bracelet. I contacted the hotel to help check the room, and the staff were incredibly efficient and diligent in finding it. They quickly arranged for it to be couriered to my home. I am truly, truly grateful – it brought a perfect end to my Nanjing trip! 🌹

MMD2024This time, I stayed at Mo Keyuan from August 14th to 15th. When I was choosing a hotel, I was quite surprised to see Mo Keyuan had nothing but glowing reviews. After staying there, I realized that both its facilities and service are indeed exceptional. **Ambiance & Location:** In terms of its location, it's merely 50 meters from Pingjiang Road, and within comfortable walking distance of Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Suzhou Museum. It's also nestled in the same alley as the famous Zhuo Lin Li Tang Zhou (a traditional dessert shop), just 20-30 meters away, and shares an adjacent alley with Couple's Retreat Garden. This geographical positioning is simply superb! The hotel itself is a numbered private garden with five interconnected courtyards, boasting exquisite rockeries, ponds, and bridges. Its design is incredibly intricate, offering distinct scenic views with every turn. Guanhuatang, a key hall, is the central room in the innermost of these five courtyards. The front desk is located in the first courtyard, exuding an antique charm. Upon entering the second courtyard, you're greeted by a misty, ethereal atmosphere, providing a refreshing coolness on hot days and adding a wonderful artistic touch. The third courtyard houses the banquet hall, while the fourth and fifth are dedicated to guest rooms. In reality, this compound is far more complex than it appears, with the unique asymmetrical structure typical of Suzhou gardens revealing many delightful surprises. **Cleanliness:** Everywhere I looked was impeccably clean. Unlike other Chinese courtyards I've stayed in, at Mo Keyuan, all areas (except guest rooms and staff offices) are openly accessible. Furthermore, the furniture inside is exceptionally well-maintained and clean, giving the impression that they are actively used daily. The rooms were subtly pre-scented with incense, and the bathrooms were also spotless. **Facilities:** Mo Keyuan boasts comprehensive facilities, offering both dining options and captivating Pingtan (Suzhou storytelling and ballad singing) performances. Guests can enjoy these performances for free, held in a charming small hall in the second courtyard, which serves as both a restaurant and a performance venue. The performance hall is very well-equipped, featuring background projection and automatic stage curtains, truly showing great attention to detail. Furthermore, before checking in, I was somewhat concerned about security. However, upon arrival, I found that the visitor and guest areas are effectively separated by access control, ensuring both privacy and safety. **Service:** The service was incredibly attentive. The butler was always ready to answer any questions and had an excellent, friendly attitude. Every staff member had a great service attitude and was remarkably patient. Due to a last-minute change in our itinerary, we only decided quite late that we wanted to have lunch at Mo Keyuan the next day. However, the butler arranged it perfectly, and we got to savor the Squirrel-shaped Mandarin Fish and Crab Roe Tofu we had hoped for. The hotel's shuttle service was even more convenient, saving us precious time and effort when visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Lion Grove Garden. We also had the pleasure of meeting the garden owner this time, who was very approachable and clearly poured their heart and soul into managing this exquisite garden. **Daily Pingtan Performance (2 Tickets):** The Pingtan performance was excellent. The young lady sang beautifully and spoke with such gentle grace; experiencing the 'Wu Nong Soft Language' (Suzhou dialect) live was truly delightful. The performance also included complimentary Biluochun tea and homemade mung bean cakes, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I'm extremely glad I chose Mo Keyuan this time. My only regret is not being able to stay an extra night to spend half a day simply wandering around the garden, sipping tea, watching the fish, and relaxing – that would have been utterly tranquil and perfect.

JJeannyWFrom the moment me and mom arrived, this hotel delivered an exceptional experience that felt both luxurious and deeply personal. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care and attention from the staff. Every interaction was warm and genuine—they go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. A special thank you to the male manager and the wonderful supervisor, Ms. Qian, whose professionalism and kindness made my stay especially memorable. The location is unbeatable—right inside the famous Shantang Street—making it incredibly convenient for exploring and perfect for capturing beautiful photos. Even within the hotel itself, the elegant garden-style interior creates a serene, picturesque setting that feels like stepping into a traditional Chinese painting. What I loved most was the hotel’s dedication to preserving and showcasing authentic Chinese cultural elements. From the subtle fragrance of seal incense to the presence of calligraphy details, every corner reflects a thoughtful commitment to tradition and artistry. The room was immaculate, offering a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The bed linens were exceptionally soft and comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel is a rare gem—combining outstanding service, cultural richness, and a prime location. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

JJeffa5Hotel location inside Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) zone is excellent. Stepping out from the hotel entrance into the pedestrian-only street are tonnes of restaurants and stalls.( Everyday I was spoiled for food choices.) Yet, the hotel remains sheltered, calm and insulated from the outside festivities. The room I stayed for 4 nights was spacious, clean with air-conditioning. Shower water pressure and hot water was excellent. Everyday a bag of fruits (banana, orange, apple, pear, cherry tomatoes...) were dropped off. All the snacks and drinks in the room were included (free). Overall, the hotel was not luxurious (in the traditional 5-star sense) but contains a captivating charm that transport one back to Chinese antiquity. It was a pleasant stay. One minor blemish was the in-room safe not working as it should. Reception said hardly any guests use the room safe. That's understandable given the overall safe environment.

GGuest UserThe place is beautiful. The rooms/cottages of the hotel are spread around a nice area. There is a vegetable garden and kids could feed the goats and rabbit. My kids loved the hotel and the room. Front desk gave us kids slippers and toothbrushes and a bag full of treats and snacks for the kids. Beds were very comfortable and the family room was beautiful with a balcony looking to the canal. Black swans swimming in there. The private outside hot bathtub was cool. They gave us some activity tickets (kids cookies baking, two free coffee cups and free entrance to the park beside), sadly we couldn’t use them, because we came noon and went to visit a different area , then left the next day after breakfast. The outside hotel surroundings are nice and peaceful. The food was great! Breakfast buffet is delicious. I would recommend it. There was a staff speaking English, but was not necessary for us. The service is very good and friendly…I’ll return.
