The room was spacious and odor-free, and the service was thoughtful, even providing complimentary fruit upon check-in. The price was surprisingly good, probably because it was September. The hotel is right on Fuzimiao Pedestrian Street, making it super convenient for food, drinks, and entertainment! It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Exit 2 of Fuzimiao Station on Metro Line 3. The bedding was very comfortable!

Nanyuan Hotel My trip to Suzhou and my stay at Nanyuan Hotel had a bit of a bumpy start. I had originally booked a package through Ctrip for the Xiangqu Tower at Nanyuan Hotel, but something unexpected came up at home. I submitted an explanation through the backend and called the hotel. They immediately helped me cancel the reservation and even told me that I could rebook anytime before the end of the year if there was availability, welcoming me to visit Suzhou. I was so grateful! Even though I couldn't go then, it warmed my heart. Plans often change, and the situation at home quickly improved, allowing me to travel as originally planned. I hurried to rebook, and this time I chose the newly renovated building at Nanyuan Hotel, the Yingjie Tower. After checking in, I knew I made the right choice – it was fantastic. Everything was perfect. Location: I'm not sure if it's considered convenient. It's a bit of a distance from the subway station. However, the hotel has a bus stop right outside (Wangshi Garden Bus Stop), with buses that go directly to the museum. It's also very close to Wangshi Garden; you just cross the road from the hotel and walk about 50 meters. For dining, the hotel has its own restaurant, and there's also the Black Pearl restaurant, Kimpton Bamboo Grove Restaurant at Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel, within walking distance. I went to this restaurant twice during my stay, haha. Ambiance: It's a garden-style hotel, with the buildings nestled within the garden. Currently, there are three buildings available for guests: Xiangqu Tower, Yuejie Tower, and the Lixi Pavilion, which was Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek's villa (I plan to book this one next time). I booked a king-size room this time, located on the first floor with a garden. Although the weather was a bit hot and I didn't go out, the view from inside the room was quite nice. Biggest advantage: Quiet, extremely quiet. I'm a very light sleeper, and I slept exceptionally well during my days at Nanyuan. The air conditioning was on at night, but there was no noise, which was truly excellent. This is the main reason why I will always choose Nanyuan for future visits to Suzhou! Secondly: The room was well-equipped: a small steam iron (this iron was quite good, with strong steam and quick ironing), and the hairdryer seemed to be a Laifen (comparable to Dyson in terms of airflow, powerful enough). There were also various types of hangers, which was very thoughtful. Needless to say, daily necessities like a refrigerator and kettle were also provided. The toiletries were also brand-name, so I won't need to bring my own shampoo next time. Breakfast: The breakfast was quite good. Regardless of which room type you stay in, breakfast is served together on the first floor of the building. The noodles are a must-try; each serving is a small bowl, not too much. You can customize it with various toppings. I had a bowl every day, adding braised pork, seaweed, and a few drops of chili oil, haha. A beautiful day starts with this bowl of noodles. Also, the fruit at this hotel is excellent. Kudos to the staff in the catering department who select the fruit. The honeydew melon was soft and sweet, and the cantaloupe and watermelon were both incredibly sweet and fresh. There were also desserts, sushi, and douhua (tofu pudding), which looked good but I didn't try them so I can't comment. There were also several types of yogurt and Yakult at the restaurant entrance, which were very popular. Service: The service was very professional. The hotel also offers a simple guided tour of its internal attractions for guests, with the latest tour starting at 4:30 PM daily. I booked the 4:00 PM tour, and when I gathered in the lobby, I saw that the staff member was a young lady. I casually took a picture, and her name was Song Shanshan. There were four guests in our group at that time. Ms. Song walked us through, explaining about Chiang's former residence, the 571 underground project, and He Yanong's former residence, Mingxuan, which is also the location of the first Garden Night Banquet of Wuzhong style. Her explanation was overall very good, and I'd like to give her a thumbs up too. After the tour, I asked if the hotel made its own mooncakes and was recommended to buy some at the front desk. I bought a box of Nanyuan Hotel's mooncakes, which are Southern-style with several flavors. They tasted good and were very good value for money. The only minor drawback: the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. But that's a small issue compared to the many advantages; it's negligible, haha. Anyway, I'm definitely staying here every time I visit Suzhou from now on.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the old town of Guoching Road in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, next to Pishi Street. There are plenty of food options and convenience stores nearby. I booked a courtyard room, which was quite quiet. The staff were very polite, but my takeaways weren't delivered to my room multiple times, which needs improvement. There are no electric scooters at the entrance, so it's a bit of a walk to Dongguan Street. Occasionally, there are a few electric scooters, but they're quite old. The laundry room was clean, and the cleaning staff were also very polite. The hotel proactively sent out Yangzhou travel guides and recommended shops, though I had a bit of trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi the first time.

The hotel environment is fantastic, with a unique garden-style design. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The noodle shop and restaurant offer great food, and the fresh meat mooncakes are exceptionally good and leave a lasting impression. The hotel service is excellent; the doorman greets guests with a smile, helps with luggage, and arranges shuttle services. The peonies and lilies are also particularly beautiful. Seven Degree Travel Photography's skills are impressive; they took many high-quality photos of my husband and me, creating wonderful memories!

Service: I stayed here during the May Day holiday. The front desk contacted me in advance to confirm my estimated arrival time and proactively helped me with my luggage to the parking lot. After a brief chat, my booked courtyard room was upgraded for free to a third-floor river-view king room. The Qinhuai River was right outside the balcony door of the living room. The staff also kindly informed me of the best viewing times and explained all the room's amenities. Environment: The hotel's location is excellent, peaceful yet central. The room was meticulously clean, and the public areas were bright and tidy. Value-added services: The minibar offered complimentary drinks, snacks, and two facial masks. The public area on the first floor provided a variety of traditional Chinese clothing for guests to use for free photos, including Hanfu, horse-face skirts, and qipaos. They were varied, clean, and suitable for women of all sizes. Breakfast: Breakfast was a semi-buffet, featuring the hotel's special noodles and Nanjing's local pastries and cold dishes, all quite rich and delicious.

This hotel truly embodies the Suzhou garden aesthetic I imagined. The environment is elegant, and the interior decor is tastefully retro, yet it doesn't lack modern conveniences. All the staff members are incredibly warm, polite, patient, and detail-oriented; I felt genuinely well-cared for every single day of my stay. The breakfast spread was extensive and delicious, especially the noodles – they were unexpectedly good! It's just a short walk to Pingjiang Road, and not far from the Suzhou Museum, Humble Administrator's Garden, and Guanqian Street, making it super convenient for sightseeing and shopping. It's definitely a place worth revisiting and staying at again! 👍

Post-80s couple brings kids and dog for a vacation at a Suzhou garden hotel. 📍Shantang Residence 🚗 1 hour 15 minutes from Shanghai (Be sure to arrive early, otherwise there might be traffic control ‼️) 🏡 The Chinese courtyard room with a small yard is super cozy, and little Lekou (the dog) is also super happy. The hotel even prints out a photo of the dog in advance – 💯 for thoughtfulness! And the amenities and mini-bar provided are the most comprehensive I've ever seen. The hotel is right in the heart of Shantang Street, truly within the entire garden area. Even though it's in a scenic spot, it's not noisy at all. The hotel's facilities are quite rich: pet bikes, outdoor play area, a book bar, and a Su-style restaurant, etc. It even has its own century-old garden. What I'm most satisfied with is the staff's enthusiasm; you can really feel the concept of mutual respect for pets. Little Lekou also had a blast, with dogs everywhere and humans praising her cuteness. The overall environment and facilities are pretty good, definitely commendable. The staff provided quality service even during the Spring Festival, which is great. The only minor drawback is that the hotel's hardware is a bit old; the air conditioning unit is quite bulky, and when the bathroom's ceiling and wall lights are on at the same time, there's a noticeable and jarring electrical buzzing sound. I hope they can improve this in the future. The kids' play area is fantastic. Overall, it's worth recommending.

I was very satisfied with this stay! The room was very clean, odor-free, and had excellent lighting and ventilation. The bed was just the right firmness, ensuring a very restful sleep. The front desk staff were polite and attentive, and handled issues efficiently. The environment was quiet, and it was convenient for dining and shopping nearby. Overall, it offered great value for money and I'd highly recommend it to everyone.

The hotel stay was great. It's just a five-minute walk from Exit 6 of Xinjiekou subway station. The location is right in the city center, yet it's quiet. The surrounding area is lively and convenient for getting around. The front desk is on the 7th floor for check-in. The hotel even upgraded my room for free. The room was clean, tidy, and had no strange odors. The air conditioning was very powerful. The lighting of the large vanity mirror in the bathroom deserves praise; finally, it's not the 'death light' from overhead, which is very friendly for those who need to do their makeup. Peony's service was warm and thoughtful, and she deserves commendation. I would recommend this hotel to friends.
