The location is great, close to Macy's, the State Capitol, Rhode Island School of Design, Brown University, and not far from the train station. I could just walk there to attend my child's graduation ceremony.
Goat Island No. 1, good scenery outside the window. I left for one night, didn't have a deep understanding of the surrounding area, and I was able to go to the parking by myself, but I was too tired, so I only had to spend more. Have a chance to stroll around the island.
Due to the late arrival, they did not expect that they updated their passwords twice and sent them via email. I thought it was the password on the email from the previous day, but I couldn't open it, and I couldn't find the waiter. It's really a headache!
The room facilities of this hotel are old, the curtains have long holes, the bathroom is very small, and it is a bathtub instead of a shower room. You have to step in to take a shower, and the shower curtain is old and has been snagging. The service is very average. The hotel that costs more than 2,000 yuan per night does not default to cleaning the room every day. Guests need to specifically request it to be cleaned every day. One day, they even said that the waiter was sick and no one cleaned it, so they didn’t come to clean it... Many channels on the TV in the room can’t be adjusted. The hotel also does not have room service, which is inconvenient for late guests... But Ctrip’s customer service staff is very good, constantly communicating with the hotel and helping us get some compensation.
Stayed here for two nights to attend my brother’s graduation ceremony. Very conveniently located right across from the mall and Kennedy Plaza, was very easy to get around the town. The hotel has a rich history and the renovation is done really well, would highly recommend for people to stay for an eventful occasion. Staff were nice but too slow and short staffed. Had to wait long for check-in and check-outs, so plan ahead. Would definitely stay here again if we visit providence in the future.
We were disappointed in our stay. When we booked, we specifically selected ”water view” and the room was advertised as having 2 ”queen” beds. Although perhaps both were technically true, we certainly felt ripped off. The view we had was actually into the atrium where you could technically see the water through a window all the way across the atrium - a couple hundred feet away. The beds may have been bigger than full but were at least 6” less than a typical 60” wide queen. Since we paid extra for the view we didn't feel it was worth the price. The room out of that context was nice, but it had no complementary bottled water or coffee and at checkout we were told that was due to Covid somehow which made no sense to us. The walls were also pretty thin and it felt like someone was flushing the toiled right next to me while I was in bed. Overall it was clean and the staff was friendly but it was not what we expected for $700/night.
