My wife and I were extremely satisfied with our stay at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. The experience started smoothly even before check-in. We had arrived in Malé late the night before, and the Hard Rock team contacted and coordinated directly with the hotel we were staying at, making our transfer to the resort very easy and stress-free. All of the staff we met were friendly, polite, and welcoming. As an Accor Diamond member, I had originally considered staying at the Pullman or Sofitel, but after researching the different resorts, we felt that Hard Rock offered the experience that suited us best—and we were very happy with that decision. One of the biggest surprises was just how much there was to do. The resort offered many complimentary activities, entertainment, and shows. We first met one of the instructors, Pensi, during another dinner/show, and because she was so friendly and enthusiastic, we decided to join her hammock/silks class. It ended up being a lot of fun. She also performed in her own show the following day, which was amazing and became one of the highlights of our stay. My wife and I are not really into water sports, but we decided to try kayaking and were very glad we did. It gave us some beautiful views of the resort and surrounding water, as well as some great photos. Cycling between the connected islands was another simple activity that turned out to be surprisingly memorable and gave us some amazing photo opportunities along the way. Breakfast had a huge selection and everything we tried tasted great. We also ordered in-room dining, which was very easy through the resort's dedicated app. Getting around was simple as well. We could book a buggy through the app or use the bicycles that were available around the island. We stayed in a Platinum Overwater Pool Villa, and the room was clean, modern, spacious, and very comfortable. We could watch the sunrise from our private pool and also step directly from the villa into the ocean below. It was exactly the kind of Maldives experience we had imagined. We came expecting beautiful scenery, clear water, and amazing photos and videos, and Hard Rock certainly delivered all of that. What we did not expect was how much the activities, recreation, entertainment, and shows would add to the experience. They made the stay much more enjoyable and memorable than simply staying at a beautiful resort. We also appreciated seeing the resort manager attend Pensi's show and personally speak with guests. It gave us the impression that the management team genuinely makes an effort to engage with guests, listen to feedback, and make everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible. Overall, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives gave us everything we had hoped for from our Maldives trip, plus much more than we expected. We would be very happy to stay again.

A. Family trip, two villas. One sunset deluxe beach pool villa, and one sunset beach pool villa. 1. The deluxe villa is very luxurious and new, with air conditioning in the bathroom, but it's far from the restaurant and relatively further from the beach compared to non-deluxe rooms. 2. The regular villa is next to the restaurant, very close to the main pool and the lobby. However, it's older than the deluxe villa and its bathroom doesn't have air conditioning. B. The hotel's location is excellent, just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Malé airport. C. We bought the full board package. The restaurant specializes in Indian cuisine, which we really enjoyed. Juices and beverages are only available at breakfast. For lunch and dinner, you can only order à la carte; soft drinks are $5, juices are $10, plus an additional 27% service charge and tax. Haha... D. The excursions are too expensive, it really hurt my wallet (see picture). It's better to book them on a local island. E. You can snorkel near the overwater bungalows and the jetty, but there aren't many marine creatures, and the water quality is just average. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money. Next time, I definitely need to visit a local island, it's so much more economical... PS. It's best to download WhatsApp in advance. Our butler didn't really use WeChat and was often unreachable...

Read this before you book 👇 Mid-September stay, two adults and two young kids, Beach Villa with kids' room (4 nights). A very good experience overall, but families should know a few things. 🚤 Arrival We landed at 5:30 PM and waited until 7:15 PM, since the speedboat runs roughly every two hours. Tough with kids after a long flight. The ride itself is only 10 minutes. The jetty welcome felt flat with no drums, but check-in was quick and we got a tour from a staff member who spoke our language, a great touch. 🏡 The Villa Clean, brand new and very private. The minibar is weak: soft drinks, two low-quality juices, spicy nuts and a small Pringles, so bring snacks. The kids' room is tiny, more of a dressing room; the cots were in the living area. 🍽️ Restaurants 🥇 Cocoon — 10/10 The best by far. The lamb ribs and wagyu mini tacos are outstanding, and you get four courses instead of three. 🍕 MIDI — 8/10 Our daily lunch spot. Great pizza and pasta, but the burger is a 5/10. 🍳 Baraveli (breakfast) — Good Solid buffet, though we were tired of it after three days. 🍜 SOI (Thai) — 6/10 Decent. 🍣 Bō (signature Asian) — 4/10 The biggest letdown. The duck and mixed meat dishes were below par; only the sushi starter stood out at 7.5/10. Staff at every restaurant were cheerful and great with kids. ⚠️ For families: one kids' menu for lunch and dinner across all restaurants, with only 4–5 dishes, and you can't order from the adult menu for your child, unless you pay. 🧸 Kids Club — Weak Small with limited toys. The outdoor area is unusable in the heat, and the slide burned my child. The man and young woman on staff were excellent, but the older woman was harsh; I saw her shouting at a little girl whose parents weren't there. 💆 Spa — 6/10 Spotless, but the massage is average if you've been to Bali or Thailand. 🛺 Buggies: fast and polite drivers. 🚨 Late Check-out — Most Important I asked for one extra hour and was refused: a flat $300 for one to six hours, no flexibility, poor attitude. At 11:58 they knocked for our bags, and housekeeping came in ten minutes later, despite the resort being quiet in low season. Also note: the last scheduled boat leaves at 2:30 PM, after which a private boat costs around $450. With an evening flight, you'd pay both. The departure lounge fits about 8 people; everyone else waits in a lobby without AC. ⭐ Overall: 7/10 for the price A new, beautiful resort with some excellent restaurants, but I wouldn't return with kids.

The hotel is quite new, and everything looks neat, well-maintained, and very clean. When we arrived, the room we booked wasn't available, but luckily we were able to switch rooms the next day. There were hardly any European visitors on this island. The breakfast was okay, but some fruit would have been a nice addition.

This is a perfect place for a good holiday! The hotel is really clean and brand-new. The rooms are very cosy, cleaned every day, the view from the balcony is really nice. Talking about the food, it can seem simple, but actually it’s very tasty and nutritious, you never feel hungry. The desserts are also really nice. The working team is very friendly, they always try to do their best. We also went fishing from the hotel, guys were really helpful, everything was amazing. If you’re not sure about this place because of some reviews, I should tell you, that if a person wants to find something bad, he definitely will. Island is small, yes, but that’s good, not so many people are there, the beach and water is clean, you still have some shops with everything you need. We have never smelt any smell from the trash burning mentioned in the reviews. We would definitely recommend this place, it has been one of our best experiences with sea holidays so far. What can be improved for the hotel: if you have an opportunity, add more sun beds to the beach with the umbrellas. It’s not that bad, but probably not always enough for all your tourists. All the rest was just amazing! We would like to come back!

Rating: 3/5 Stayed at Solunar Hotel in Maafushi and had a mix of good and frustrating moments What I liked: • Staff were very polite and friendly overall Room was bia with a balcony; nice space to relax after the beach. • They booked our speedboat transfer to the airport for us, which was convenient What could be better: ‣ Breakfast is plated, not buffet. and there were flies in the breakfast hall ‣ No lift, so it's tough with luggage if you're on a higher floor. Biggest issue: On checkout day, staff came tc our door around 12:00 noon to collect speedboat payment. We paid him. When we went to the lobby at 12:15 pm, no one was there. Waited until 12:35 pm. Tried calling and WhatsApping the hotline, knocked on staff quarters, nothing. We ended up leaving the key at concierge, sending a photo on WhatsApp, and walking to the port ourselves with medium luggage. For a hotel that handles airport transfers having no front desk coverage right before boat time was stressful. Overall the room and staff attitude are good, but operations on checkout morning need improvement.

Amazing Stay at Arena Beach Hotel Beautiful beach vibes with a clean, hotel-allocated beach front long beach with refreshing dring service. and an infinity pool with stunning sunset views. Rooms are clean with sea view, with basic amenities with daily water, tea/ coffee, and towels are provided.Special thanks to Abishek from HK he was very attentive he acknowledges my request and resolved very quickly as my bathroom faucet was leaking. Food & Drinks: Wide buffet & à la carte options at affordable prices, with non-alcoholic beverages. Dinner with live music made evenings extra special. Sisha option was also a alternative choice as island not serving alcohol. Breakfast buffet was good healthy choice with friendly service staff specially Hasan ali (friendly and professional man) Abash attentive and prompt service.Hasim/mahmood and one indian lady from Lucknow( good recommendation and suggestive selling) Nightlife & Activities: Relaxing and charming nightlife. Night vibes was really amazing dining ambience is same as five star resort level. Water sports like stingrays and sharks snorkelling and Sandbank full days tours were unforgettable. Reservations cheking and checkout processes was little tired For guests on long journeys who arrive early at the airport (e.g., 9:00 AM) but have transfers to the island only at 13:00, consider providing alternative options such as a comfortable lounge, refreshments, or earlier boat transfers. Waiting 4+ hours after a long 9-hour flight can be tiring, so small adjustments would greatly improve guest experience. Overall, the value for money was decent. However, the water pressure in the room was very low. The Chinese butler's service attitude was perfunctory, cold, and of a very low standard. Don't expect her to enthusiastically help you solve any issues immediately; she'll stall for a while and then tell you to figure it out yourself, perfectly embodying the 'Chinese people must exploit Chinese people' tradition. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was passable. For snorkeling, it's best to stay in an overwater villa as there are more fish. The weather was excellent with hardly any rain, but it was very windy, and many things got blown away. I quite liked the simple meals at Breeze restaurant, but surprisingly, the pizza and pasta were a bit too salty. The scenery is quite average compared to many other islands. Almost no one participated in water activities. Watching the sunset by the pool was great.
