Overall, it was satisfying. The staff were polite and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. If possible, I'd suggest upgrading the TV channels; there were too few options. For guests like us who stay a bit longer, it gets a bit boring because there aren't any good TV programs.

This hotel is located in the heart of Penang Island, right opposite Komtar. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a high-floor sea view room. The breakfast spread was excellent, and it's super convenient for shopping districts and the famous street art area. Penang durians, especially Musang King and Black Thorn, had just come into season and were absolutely delicious! I've stayed at a few other hotels for business trips to Penang before, but from now on, this hotel will be my go-to choice.

We stayed in Ansgana wing one bedroom suite. It's born with a magnificent Seaview but unfortunately obscured by the hotel layout like the balcony concrete egde at living room and the missing of curtain binder to gain 5-10% of Seaview. The sofa and TV are setup by the window side both at the living room and bed room but during day time the sunshine is so strong that you have to draw the curtain if you want to watch TV but at the same time your completely lose the view. The breakfast buffet offered were standard and I have no comment but the only obervation is the crows are the only diehard fans of the hotel food as they tried their best effort to grab the food from the table even in front of the guests! The only element that made our stay a good one is the hotel staff. Starting from Cika who handled our check in, our room attendant Masum, the big and tall guy at the buffet restaurant and also the lady who took care of our check out. All of them were efficient and effectively attending and responding to guests needs and tried their best effort to help us during our stay and kindly send my compliment to them especially Masum. Thank you Masum you deserves to be praised. Well done! Ansgana management in reading it's your team that saved your position that still got a 5 points except the food! In conclusion Ansgana tried to pack herself as a resort but quite unsuccessful as after check out we headed to Shangri-La Rasa Sayang and you will experience the layback and relax feel in a resort!

I recently stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Penang and overall I absolutely loved the experience. The hotel has an amazing atmosphere, great facilities, and truly lives up to the Hard Rock brand. Everything from the ambiance to the service made the stay enjoyable and memorable. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to breakfast. After finishing our food, the dirty plates on our table were not cleared promptly, so they remained on the table for quite some time. It would be better if the staff could be more attentive in clearing used plates to ensure a more comfortable dining experience. In addition, the variety of food was not as wide as expected from a Hard Rock Hotel. Overall, I still had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider returning in the future.

I recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Penang and had such a wonderful experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the spa. The masseuse was incredibly attentive and took the time to understand my body’s needs, making the treatment both relaxing and rejuvenating. The breakfast buffet was another standout. There was an impressive variety of options each morning. On the first day, I enjoyed an English breakfast, pancakes, and nasi lemak. On the second day, I went for nasi tomato, roti canai, and waffles. The selection catered to both local and international tastes, making every breakfast something to look forward to. The beach is conveniently located near the hotel and feels almost like a private lagoon designed exclusively for guests. It offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding by the sea. The hotel also provides excellent facilities for all ages, including separate pools for kids and adults. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, such as foosball, snooker, and even a kids’ cinema area. Overall, it was a fun and memorable stay, with great hospitality, excellent food, relaxing wellness facilities, and plenty of activities for families and couples alike. I would definitely recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Penang for a relaxing getaway.

It's very clean, with a beach right outside, and a water slide for kids. However, the staff's attitude wasn't very friendly. I took my kids to swim and forgot my room card. There was a staff member sitting at a desk by the elevator. I asked her to help swipe the card so we could enter the elevator, but she just pointed to the security guard at the main entrance with a blank expression.

I was a little disappointed that there was no pool and the breakfast buffet selection could have been more expansive. The room I loved and it had so much character. But the proofing was a little lacking and the heat would come inside through the bathroom and windows. The towels were rather old and had a dirty/musty smell. The hotel had a perfect location within walking distance of so many attractions. It was quaint and I loved that part of it.

The Amari SPICE Penang is a standout choice for travelers seeking a sleek, contemporary stay directly connected to the island's premier convention center and near the airport. Its rooms are impressively bright and spacious, offering high-end comfort and modern tech amenities that cater perfectly to both business guests and families. While the location in Bayan Lepas is a bit far from the historic charm of George Town, the hotel compensates with a spectacular rooftop pool and a diverse, high-quality breakfast spread. Ultimately, it is the best-in-class option for those prioritizing convenience and modern luxury over proximity to the heritage district.

This was our过渡 hotel for the first night in Penang, and they offer 24-hour check-in. We arrived past midnight, but the Malay guy at the front desk was still very attentive. The room wasn't big but felt new with a modern design. Our room type faced the back street, so it was quiet, but it looked directly onto the building opposite, offering no view at all. If a view is important to you, I recommend booking a different room type. The hotel is very close to Toh Soon Cafe and the Peranakan Museum, both within a five-minute walk. The surrounding area is pretty quiet with not many shops.

Check in: Got really long queue during weekend, but the staff at counter handled it well. Staff: Very polite and helpful. Plus the staff at check in counter very thoughtful and give us free upgrade!! so, we got ourselves a whole sea view. So pretty!! Thank you Lexis!! Location: Very exclusive. However, during peak hour, it kindly hard to exit from the hotel. Should have guard taking care the traffic. KKepulifunichahanyuThis was my first solo trip abroad, and I chose Penang, a city known for its overseas Chinese community and abundant durians. About 70% of the population here is Chinese, mostly originating from Chaoshan and Fujian, which gives it a strong Southern Min and Chaoshan vibe, much like Thailand in the movie 'The Letter to A-ma'. The Eastern & Oriental Hotel (E&O) in Penang, along with Singapore's Raffles and Angkor's Raffles, is considered one of the world's three grand heritage hotels. Established in 1885, it has hosted many celebrities, so it was a must-experience for me. The hotel is divided into two parts: the Heritage Wing, which is the original older building, and the Victory Annexe, a high-rise built just over a decade ago. To experience the authentic charm, choose the Heritage Wing. If you prefer better sea views and relatively newer facilities, the Victory Annexe might be a better option. However, the hotel's most iconic pool is exclusively accessible to guests staying in the Heritage Wing. When I was researching the hotel, I read some rumors about the Heritage Wing being a bit spooky. Perhaps it's due to its age; such tales are not uncommon in old hotels. But objectively, the Heritage Wing maintains its overall character beautifully. From the preserved first elevator in Malaysia located in the lobby to the various artworks displayed in the corridors, and even the doormen in old colonial-era uniforms, everything conveys the ambiance of the South Seas from a century ago. Three positives: First, the E&O is probably the closest hotel to the sea in Penang. Taking a walk by the ocean in the evening or early morning sounds wonderful, even if Penang's sea isn't particularly spectacular. Second, guests in the Heritage Wing receive a complimentary bottle of red wine, and all snacks and treats in the room are free. Additionally, the Char Kway Teow at Palm Court for breakfast in the Heritage Wing is incredibly flavorful – I think it's even better than many so-called Michelin-starred dishes. Third, sitting by the window in the morning, watching the sunrise and the coast, was quite therapeutic. As for negatives, overall, the hotel's service felt a bit indifferent. Compared to other places in Southeast Asia, there was a certain aloofness. This might, of course, be a remnant of its early British hotel traditions.

AAnonymous User## Ambiance: The environment here is absolutely stunning, exceeding expectations. We booked the Rasa Wing, and although I'd read reviews worrying about dated rooms, that wasn't the case at all. The room materials and finishes felt very high-quality. However, since only a basic room was available, our window overlooked the parking lot and road, so we could hear traffic noise at night. If you bring earplugs, you won't hear it, so that's something to prepare for. ## Cleanliness: Cleanliness was excellent. Our room was serviced daily, and the hotel's public areas were also spotless. We even saw monkeys and lizards 🦎 – lucky us! 🍀 ## Facilities: The Rasa Wing has an exclusive adults-only pool, where many Caucasians were lounging and sunbathing. Sometimes it was hard to find a free sunbed. The large trees in the public areas are truly therapeutic, and every part of the hotel is beautiful. ## Service: Service was very friendly. As a Rasa Wing guest, you can choose between two restaurants for breakfast. Ferringhi Grill is à la carte, but I prefer buffets so I didn't go there. Each room also comes with executive privileges, including unlimited capsule coffee and tea bags, and the mini-bar is complimentary for the first fill. There's afternoon tea in the lobby lounge from 3 pm to 5 pm, followed by a complimentary cocktail hour from 5 pm to 7 pm. Before 8 pm, coffee, tea, and soft drinks are free-flowing, always accompanied by light snacks, desserts, cheese, salami, and fruit. If you have a smaller appetite, you could easily spend the whole day at the hotel and not even need dinner. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and incredibly restorative experience. We stayed for four nights and had a very enjoyable holiday.

GGuest UserThis five-star hotel, priced at a little over 400 [currency unit, e.g., MYR], offers incredible value for money, not just in Malaysia but anywhere. The breakfast is great, and kids eat free. On our departure day, after a quick chat, we were able to check out at 2 PM. They provide unlimited bottled water for the room, which saved us quite a bit. The water park next door is perfect for kids around ten years old, though it gets too sunny in the afternoon to really enjoy for long. The only downside is that the hotel feels like an island; you can't walk to grab a meal or visit a convenience store. The road outside has no sidewalks, so you're constantly relying on taxis. Taxis, taxis, taxis! That was a real pain. On a final note, the hotel pool is fantastic – hardly anyone there and super clean.

HHeihemaThe hotel is right by the sea, with the beach just beyond the lawn and outdoor pool. The staff provided excellent service, and check-in was very quick. I loved the lawn and big trees outside my window, especially when they were lit up at night – it looked beautiful. You can watch the sunset directly from your room or balcony, though many people go down to the beach to see it up close by the water. A short walk from there is the beach fire show. Turn right outside the hotel's main entrance, and you'll find a bustling night market in the evenings, with lots of traffic and activity. During the day, it's much quieter. It feels like a small town here, with many houses and even an amusement park, plus a surprisingly large Starbucks. As a Marriott resort, the hotel's facilities and services are top-notch. I especially have to mention the live cooking station at breakfast; both the freshly cooked noodles and vermicelli were delicious, but you absolutely cannot miss the soup – it was amazing! 👍
