Five stars all around! Big shout-out to the friendly front desk staff. I was torn between JEN Hotel and Wembley, but ultimately chose Wembley because I saw reviews mentioning early check-in, which was a huge draw for me. It's also Chinese-friendly, and the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese. Even though rooms were very tight during Chinese New Year, the hotel still allowed me to check in quite a bit earlier. This gave me a precious three-hour nap, helping me avoid the hottest part of the day and making my first day of sightseeing rich and energetic. Wembley and JEN are just across the street from each other, but Wembley is on higher floors, offering a more expansive view. It's only about 700-800 meters to both Mural Street and the Clan Jetties. There are also plenty of shopping and food courts nearby. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and soundproofing is decent. My only minor complaint: For two adults and one child, we requested an extra comforter, but they brought a blanket instead. Using just a blanket requires quite some courage!
Check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any requests.
The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities provided (Wi-Fi, toiletries, coffee station, etc.) were more than adequate. Housekeeping did a great job each day.
Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and friendly service.
Had a great stay here! Easily access to the mall nearby and tourist attractions. Clean room with modern concept. Will stay here for my next visit to penang :)
Hotel is great and well located. Nice room, had a jacuzzi (which we never used, our choice). Fantastic shower, always hot when needed). Breakfast was ok, though the sunny side up ”rubber” eggs and overdone sausages were disappointing. Overall, nice hotel. One big downside was the internet. Slow, often wouldn't connect and when it did, would then drop out....often. Finally issue solved towards the end of stay by switching to another wifi
source but this really shouldn't happen in a hotel of this calibre.
I had an excellent stay at DoubleTree by Hilton. A special shout-out to housekeeping staff Rimon, who kept my room impeccably clean and tidy throughout my stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, with great air conditioning that worked perfectly. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied, and all staff provided friendly and efficient service. Highly recommended!
Nice, clean, affordable, comfortable and close to city and close to great places and food, amenities should also include toothbrushes set too,it would be a great addition
This hotel service is really makes me want to come back again. The way the staff greets while smiles during day and night and offers to help with the luggage up/downstairs without being asked is what I appreciate about staying on this hotel for 3D2N. Even the food is freshly made especially tosai and roti canai. My wife is a bit particular about the roti canai and getting her approval shows that the serving here is worth revisiting in future. Recommended for staying during your visit to Seberang Perai.
The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Clan Jetties and the Street Art, both within walking distance. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, smiling as they opened car doors and helped with our luggage, even bringing it all the way to our room. The hotel's interior cleanliness was also exceptional, spotlessly clean everywhere. Most importantly, I left my passport and a sum of money in the hotel's safe. I only realized it when I reached Ipoh, so I quickly called the hotel. The staff immediately took care of it, retrieved my belongings, and kept them at the front desk. When I returned, not a single penny was missing, not even a single piece of paper. I highly recommend this fantastic hotel to all my fellow countrymen.
This hotel is quite a distance from the city center, even further than the Shangri-La by a few kilometers, located on the beach. There are no convenient facilities nearby, so you'll need to take a taxi to get around. However, a 2km taxi ride will take you to Dadong Seafood Restaurant. All the hotel rooms face west, offering sunset views. The gym is small and lacks equipment. There are two pools, but they are quite shallow. Housekeeping cleans twice a day, but I still noticed some stains on the bed linen. There were also small ants, which is to be expected in a beachfront hotel. During peak breakfast hours, you might have to wait. If you're looking for a quiet escape in Penang, this is the place. At least it's relatively new and offers decent value for money. During the Chinese New Year, they even had fireworks and a weekly 'iron flower' performance. It really made a great impression.
The hotel facilities and environment are quite good, and the public areas are well-maintained. It's right on the beach, and close to dining options and beach performances, so the location is excellent. The hotel breakfast is also very rich, and the public areas are spacious enough. Overall, it feels good, although check-in took a bit long. Also, with more Chinese guests, it can get a bit noisy, and if your room is near the mosque, it can be a little loud.

TtigerpunksBertam Resort & Waterpark Penang is a small luxury hotel nestled in Kepala Batas, Penang. We checked in during the end of year holiday and overall our experience was great. We love the clean room, great facilities, good gym and big pool. Food was great but can be better. Would love to come back soon!
GGuest UserI've always wanted to stay at this hotel because of the drama 'Single Love, Dual City.' I admit I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews about cleanliness issues before booking. However, I decided to go ahead, and thankfully, my room was incredibly clean, comfortable, and spacious. The overall layout, especially the bathroom, was very relaxing.
As soon as I arrived, a butler helped me with my luggage and brought it up to my room. The front desk staff were also lovely, with excellent service attitudes!
The hotel's garden environment is absolutely fantastic too; you could spend all day taking photos downstairs and get some amazing shots!
The buffet breakfast, though, was quite average.
If you're coming for the ambiance, I honestly think you should book without hesitation. If I have another chance, I'd definitely choose this hotel again. It's truly relaxing!!!!!

GGuest UserIf you want to enjoy the beautiful beach, facilities and hospitality of a 5 star hotel you get the right choice of Hard Rock Hotel Penang. The hotel is far away from downtown where the attractions and fantastic street food are located.
The room is comfortable and I got a free upgrade to a sea view room. My partner slept well but not me because the pillow of mine is lumpy, felt like it had clumps of filling.
Overall I am satisfied with my stay in Hard Rock and had some good times.
GGuest UserThis hotel was the biggest surprise of our trip! I thought a 1970s hotel would feel old, but it turned out to be the best overall. We stayed in a ground-floor garden room in the Rasa Wing (it was the only room type left when we booked), and for under 3000 a night during Chinese New Year, it was excellent value. Our room was one of the closest to the sea and genuinely quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. The only downside was the BBQ bar music played quite late. For breakfast, there's a buffet at the Garden Wing and a semi-buffet at the Rasa Wing. While the semi-buffet has fewer options, the quality is excellent, and you can order repeatedly – you'll definitely leave full. The biggest highlight is the fantastic outdoor environment; the mature trees are incredibly therapeutic. Kids can enjoy the hotel's pool or head next door to Shangri-La Rasa Ria for their outdoor children's play area, as facilities are shared. If your budget allows, I'd recommend staying at the Rasa Ria. There were many activities during Chinese New Year, but they didn't provide a list of children's activities for families, which is something that could be improved.
