Overall, it was satisfying. The staff were polite and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. If possible, I'd suggest upgrading the TV channels; there were too few options. For guests like us who stay a bit longer, it gets a bit boring because there aren't any good TV programs.
The hotel's facilities are a bit dated. The cabinets, doors, and bathroom counter in the room all show their age, and there's no magnifying mirror at the vanity. This likely relates to when it was last renovated; it's not very stylish, but it is clean, which is good.
The service, however, is excellent, meeting five-star hotel standards without a doubt. They provide disposables, complimentary bottled water, welcome fruits, a breakfast buffet, and executive lounge access (depending on room type). The restaurant's decor has also been updated.
I had a great experience with one particular staff member. I had booked an executive room, and upon check-in, the front desk assigned me a connecting room without informing me. The soundproofing was terrible; I could clearly hear people showering and talking in the next room, which severely disrupted my sleep. After I explained the situation to the front desk, they worked hard to switch me to another room of the same type, which was much better and very comfortable. I'd like to especially commend Hanz at the front desk for their prompt action in changing my room, which allowed me to get a good night's sleep.
Regarding the location, just across the road is Shangri-La's Jen hotel. Its decor and facilities visibly appear newer and better. However, it's much lower in height and doesn't offer the good views this hotel does. If you're looking for a sea view room, this hotel is worth it. If views aren't a priority, you might want to compare the two.
This hotel is about 1km from many attractions in the old town, including Jay Chou's favorite restaurant, the street art murals, Kimberley Street Food Night Market, and Chew Jetty. These are all pleasant to explore in the evening. It's too hot at midday, so I'd recommend taking a taxi or staying at the hotel.
good place to escape from the busy city with a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views. The pool area and surroundings were relaxing, and the breakfast selection was decent too. However, I was a bit disappointed with the room amenities. The toiletries, especially the soap, didn’t feel like they matched the standard I expected from a 5-star hotel. Overall, it was a nice stay, but some details could be improved to better meet expectations.
First, the basic hotel info: it's a 40-minute drive from the old town. We've stayed at many 'Roc' brand hotels before, but this one was surprisingly small. Also, there are no shows or performances on weekdays.
Regarding cleanliness, our room faced the pool, which made it quite noisy. If you prefer quiet, you might want to request a room on the other side.
Now, breakfast. It was still 'Roc' style, but there really wasn't much to eat. We booked a three-day, two-night stay, and on our second morning, we were told breakfast wasn't included. This was absolutely ridiculous! The hotel's front desk had already confirmed it was included, yet the restaurant staff insisted it wasn't. They kept making us reconfirm and even took photos. Couldn't they just check with the front desk themselves? This lack of attention to detail was really disappointing.
This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I chose a Premium King Room with a sea view and balcony. Overall, the room was perfect and I had nothing to complain about. The amenities were complete and well provided.
That night, we had dinner at Seafood Surfers. The prices were reasonable, and there was a wide variety of seafood choices. I especially loved the oysters, which were available as well. The breakfast buffet was great too.
In the evening, I wanted to visit the spa centre, but the prices were a little too expensive.
Parking was free, and the hotel is close to the beach. Guests can simply use their room card to access the connecting overpass bridge, which leads directly to the seaside across the street.
I would definitely return to this hotel again. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Overall, there was really nothing much to complain about.
THE MOST AMAZING HOTE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN 10/10
1. Hotel Locaiton: Perfect as its not in the city and by the beach, amazing for relaxation. Hotel is surrounded by souvenir shops and street food. 10miute walk from Ferringhi Walk where there is a nice selection of street food but my favourite of all is that its just a 2 minute walk from my favorite restaurant in Malaysia, Ferringhi Garden. Penang trip isnt complete without going to Ferringhi Garden. Its an amazing restaurant with the most beautiful collection of plants, there is no other place like it in Malaysia.
2. The Hotel: Nothing bad to say about it. The design, the decor, everything about this hotel makes me want to stay there even longer. Its such a nice feeling being there. Facilities are clean and complete.
3. The Room: CLEAN. NICE. SPACIOUS. BEAUTIFUL. Every inch of the room is to my liking, i could not have asked for more. Mattress is thick and oh so comfortable. Aircond was cold. Room was very spacious.
4.The Buffet: The room came with breakfast for 2 and it was the perfect buffet to start each day with. Selection was incredible even better than a lot of buffet Ramadan Ive been to. They had everything from selections of breads, to nasi lemak with 12 different sambals, 5 different meat dishes to eat it with, assorted fruits, assorted cheeses, 2 types of porridge with the FULL suites of condiments, salads, pastries, roti canai with all the curries you will ever need, to your above average selection of continental breakfast menus like, beef bacon, beef and chicken sausages, hash browns, deli meats, smoked fish. And there is more! there is a made-to-order menu which many patrons are not aware of. I tried the minute steak and it was good!(pictured below)
PS: Hakimi from breakfast service was spectacular, I requested strawberries for my picky 2 year old and he delivered. On the other hand, ANIS FROM THE OMELETTE STATION WAS RUDE TO MY WIFE, SHE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HER SOCIAL SKILLS(this is my one and only complain)
Overall my stay was 10/10 and this will be the ONLY hotel i will be staying at if when im at Batu Ferringhi. I plan to go to Park Royal Batu Ferringhi Annually, its just that good!

Check-in 21/3
Check-out 24/3
I have been staying at this hotel since year 2000. This time around I really frustrated. We were assigned at unit no.85. The air-conditioner were not fully working. We have to clean the filters ourselves. Imagine a paying guest got to do these (refer the enclosed photos). Then still the same. A Bangladeshi so call the technician claimed that only when there is a complaint he will check, no periodic maintenance, just imagine! Next day we were assigned unit no.87, still the same. So we decided to shorten our stay & leave the hotel on 23/3. Then this Bangladeshi admitted that the owner/management had received lots of complaint from the guest about the room air-conditioner. Nevertheless I must praised Mr Naim & Ms Ayu whom had attended to these issues. They did their very best but it looks like the owner couldn’t be bother. Penaga used to be the best hotel but now no wonder the rating went down. Question here who is going to compensate our losses? Will Trip.com compensate? We paid but we get these rubbish. All I can say stay away from this hotel until they improve it.
Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent.
I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk.
Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes.
Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment.
Wishing the entire team continued success and all the very best. Thank you once again for going above and beyond. Peharps this able to fully credit to the team.
This was our过渡 hotel for the first night in Penang, and they offer 24-hour check-in. We arrived past midnight, but the Malay guy at the front desk was still very attentive. The room wasn't big but felt new with a modern design. Our room type faced the back street, so it was quiet, but it looked directly onto the building opposite, offering no view at all. If a view is important to you, I recommend booking a different room type. The hotel is very close to Toh Soon Cafe and the Peranakan Museum, both within a five-minute walk. The surrounding area is pretty quiet with not many shops.

Perfect stay, perfect staff, perfect breakfast, I would stay here again and again!
Beautiful resort with impeccable service The rooms are nice and clean, our room had a balcony which was nice. The pool is clean and wasn’t overcrowded during our visit. There is also a deep end to the pool. The beach is small but very clean and has amazing views across the sea.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Batu Ferringhi I booked my stay through Trip.com and the whole experience was effortless. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff member who attended to me was genuinely warm and accommodating. I was also given a late checkout, which made my stay even more relaxing. One thing I really enjoyed was the welcome cookie. It’s such a nice and thoughtful touch, especially when welcome drinks have become quite boring and predictable. The cookie felt unique and memorable. The lobby is spacious and inviting, with a beautiful view that immediately puts you in a good mood. My room was clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. Not long after I settled in, the hotel called to check if I needed anything. When I requested a toothbrush, they sent it up very quickly. The service throughout my stay felt attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of choices and the staff were always nearby to help. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The gym is nice, well maintained and has a great view. The pool area is spacious, relaxing and perfect for winding down. Overall, I had a truly pleasant stay at DoubleTree Hilton Batu Ferringhi. Great service, great facilities and a very comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. #TravelReview #HotelReview #TripCom #DoubleTreeHilton #BatuFerringhi #PenangHotels #TravelMalaysia #HotelStay #HolidayVibes #TravelExperience #LuxuryStay #VacationMode #WanderlustMalaysia #GreatService #ResortLife
Had a great stay at Lone Pine Penang. The atmosphere was peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Would definitely come back again.
Hard Rock - Pleasant stay. Getting a superb experience from the Lagoon room. It is an amazing experience with the pool just in front of your room deck. Head into the pool for a swim anytime and back to the deck to chill on the bench. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, on the contrary, it is a bit disappointing on the concierge side as there is a contrast if comparing the two. Breakfast is great. A lot of selection and food is holding up its quality. However, the decorations and renovations seem to be a bit ‘outdated’, but not sure if this is intentional. The pool and surrounding facility are great as well, with the beach feel with sand on the floor surrounding the pool. There are sections of the pool which have sand as well. One thing to take note of is they have lifeguards on duty.
A lovely hotel for a family stay, offering an excellent breakfast. The staff are incredibly kind and always greet guests with warmth and professionalism.
The location is good. Near the Feringhi, Komtar, Bukit Bendera. The most important is to taste the real nasi kandar. Rooms is ver clean with the perfect facilities provided ie. Washing machine and dryier, cooking facilities and the best is swimming pool is near to my room.
A newly opened resort hotel that far exceeded my expectations! 1. Two-story detached villas with their own pools, directly connected to a circular public pool. The decor is very new, with an exotic Islamic style that's highly artistic. 2. The rooms are incredibly spacious. The first floor features a huge living room, dining area, and guest bathroom with shower, plus a kitchenette with a microwave and full-size refrigerator. The second floor includes a bedroom, work area, and a huge bathroom with a double Jacuzzi. 3. The private pool in the courtyard is approximately 7*4 cm and is absolutely beautiful. There are canopy beds and beach chairs nearby. 4. A stunning private pool breakfast. 5. Two private butlers provided service throughout. 6. Access to all facilities at the adjacent resort of the same brand, including the spa, restaurant, karaoke, and billiards room. Due to time constraints, I only tried the spa and restaurant, both of which were excellent. The restaurant prices were very reasonable; my meal only cost a little over 100 yuan. 7. The public swimming pool was amazing, it had a bit of a Venice feel to it 😂 Overall, I couldn't stop praising it. Maybe because it just opened, the price was very cheap. I feel that comparable places would be at least 50% more expensive. Although it's not on the beach, it's very convenient to get there directly from the airport, taking less than an hour, even faster than going directly to Penang city. A very satisfying experience. My girlfriend kept taking pictures in there. It's a pity we only stayed one day (because there aren't any reviews on Ctrip yet 😭). Also, thank you to the butler for the attentive service 😂
