Five stars all around! Big shout-out to the friendly front desk staff. I was torn between JEN Hotel and Wembley, but ultimately chose Wembley because I saw reviews mentioning early check-in, which was a huge draw for me. It's also Chinese-friendly, and the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese. Even though rooms were very tight during Chinese New Year, the hotel still allowed me to check in quite a bit earlier. This gave me a precious three-hour nap, helping me avoid the hottest part of the day and making my first day of sightseeing rich and energetic. Wembley and JEN are just across the street from each other, but Wembley is on higher floors, offering a more expansive view. It's only about 700-800 meters to both Mural Street and the Clan Jetties. There are also plenty of shopping and food courts nearby. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and soundproofing is decent. My only minor complaint: For two adults and one child, we requested an extra comforter, but they brought a blanket instead. Using just a blanket requires quite some courage!
Overall, a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The only minor issues were that the door was a bit difficult to push open and there was a small amount of dust in the corner of the room.
The food was good, although the variety could be improved slightly. The gym and pool facilities were both very good and well kept. Aside from these small details, everything else was perfect. I would happily recommend this hotel.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were attentive and prompt in attending to our needs. They served us more bottles of water in our room on request. We had a pleasant welcome with a drink and ice cream. The hotel is just beside the Gurney Plaza, which makes it convenient for shopping and dining. Highly recommended.
Booked the biggest unit available which was Hutton 8, 3 Bedroom. Felt in love the moment we open the doors, the smell of wood, rustic and filled with post heritage decorations, there are some setbacks but overall the stay was almost to my satisfactory. The setbacks are, the television given was very small for a huge house so we cannot really see and hear properly. Secondly, the living room is very very very very humid, there is a ceiling fan but all 6 of us are sweating when we sit on the sofa especially during day time.
The front desk was alright; they gave me the highest floor when I asked for a quiet room. But the room itself felt really damp! Luckily, it was sunny the next day, so I took the duvet outside to air it out. The hallways in the hotel also had a damp, musty smell. The cleaning service on the second day of my stay was unbelievably bad – they missed so many spots, it's hard to even describe! The view outside the hotel was nice, but the hotel itself is in a remote location. A taxi to the city costs 60-80 yuan, and even to the beach, which is only 2-3 kilometers away, it's 40 yuan for a taxi – ridiculous! Once we got familiar with the area, we just used public transport.
strategic location to move around town area, and several food stall around by walking distance. compared to few hotels i stay before, many much parking lots available even till late night. one of only sound proof was very bad.
Room is clean and air condition is good. Location very strategic, convenient marts nearby, walking distance to Sunway Carnival Mall, a lot of restaurants nearby, pubs nearby. Highly recommended for business travellers and family.
This hotel boasts an incredibly convenient location, perfect for city walks right outside the door, and close to all the attractions – highly recommended! The service here is exceptional. In Malaysia, hotels typically have a 3 PM check-in. Upon arrival, we were offered two complimentary drinks and invited to relax in the restaurant. They even gave us two more drinks when we checked out! The beverages here are top-notch, genuinely not like the powdered ones you often find in hotels back home; they are meticulously prepared. The staff's attitude is also excellent. The gentlemen at the entrance always greeted us warmly, opened doors, and helped with luggage. The Chinese-speaking aunties and uncles in the restaurant were also very friendly and welcoming during breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet combined with à la carte options, all complimentary. You can order from the menu, and the dishes are presented beautifully and very refined! The rooms might not be as spacious as some other hotels, but the space is still good, with an Instagrammable vibe. Contrary to what I read on Xiaohongshu, there was no noisy bar, it was very quiet. We couldn't find the elevator to the infinity pool on the fifth floor, so we didn't go, but I hear it's excellent too. Overall, it's definitely worth staying here!
This is one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at. The staff is exceptional and extremely friendly. The environment is elegant and welcoming. The grounds are impeccably manicured. The dining experience is classy but reasonably priced. The rooms are well cared for, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet has a wide array of options and is very delicious. This hotel is very remote and is a fifty minute drive to Georgetown....but the seaview is worth the extra traveling. Thanks to the ENTIRE staff for giving us such lasting memories. 💛💛
It's all pretty clean, and the pool is clean too… I'd read some bad reviews before, but it’s actually really decent… The room didn't have any musty or damp smells either, plus the lobby opens right out to the beach… If you're booking, I'd suggest getting a sea-view room because the basic rooms by the road are very noisy (motorbikes, Muslim chanting). There's a good variety for breakfast… mainly Western. I recommend going before 8:45 AM to avoid the queue; after 9 AM, you'll have to wait 10-15 minutes. There's also Chinese-speaking staff… Oh, and the sea-view room balcony doesn't have a drying rack, so I'd recommend bringing your own.

TtigerpunksBertam Resort & Waterpark Penang is a small luxury hotel nestled in Kepala Batas, Penang. We checked in during the end of year holiday and overall our experience was great. We love the clean room, great facilities, good gym and big pool. Food was great but can be better. Would love to come back soon!
GGuest UserStayed at Lone Pine Hotel and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, right by the beach and close to Batu Ferringhi attractions, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a nice balcony view. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the stay. The pool area was well maintained and not overcrowded. Overall, a great place for a quiet beach getaway. Would definitely consider staying again.

Mmoni111This hotel is a bit out of the way; it felt like a long drive from George Town. However, it's quite unique, with photos and statues of many rock bands from the last century throughout the hotel. The hotel itself is a bit old, but the rooms are clean, and the front desk staff are friendly and kind. The sea view rooms have a balcony, which is lovely for sitting, watching the sea, and scrolling through short videos. That said, the beach wasn't as good as I expected. If you're looking for a really nice beach with fine sand, Sanya in China is better. Oh, and if you turn left out of the hotel's main entrance and walk for about 5 minutes, there's a Lebanese restaurant with great food and a nice atmosphere – definitely worth a visit!
GGuest UserThis hotel was the biggest surprise of our trip! I thought a 1970s hotel would feel old, but it turned out to be the best overall. We stayed in a ground-floor garden room in the Rasa Wing (it was the only room type left when we booked), and for under 3000 a night during Chinese New Year, it was excellent value. Our room was one of the closest to the sea and genuinely quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. The only downside was the BBQ bar music played quite late. For breakfast, there's a buffet at the Garden Wing and a semi-buffet at the Rasa Wing. While the semi-buffet has fewer options, the quality is excellent, and you can order repeatedly – you'll definitely leave full. The biggest highlight is the fantastic outdoor environment; the mature trees are incredibly therapeutic. Kids can enjoy the hotel's pool or head next door to Shangri-La Rasa Ria for their outdoor children's play area, as facilities are shared. If your budget allows, I'd recommend staying at the Rasa Ria. There were many activities during Chinese New Year, but they didn't provide a list of children's activities for families, which is something that could be improved.
