We recently stayed at Hyatt Kuantan and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet the usual standards I associate with the Hyatt brand. While the property has a good location and overall potential, the hotel itself appears somewhat aged and clearly in need of refurbishment and modernization. The F&B offerings lacked creativity and refinement. The menu selection felt rather basic, and the presentation and variety did not reflect the elevated dining experience typically expected from Hyatt properties elsewhere. There is definitely room for improvement in both quality and innovation. Front desk communication was another area of concern. Response time was slow, and coordination appeared inconsistent, resulting in unnecessary waiting and minor confusion during check-in and inquiries. Housekeeping standards were also below par — room upkeep felt average at best, with details that were not attended to carefully. Overall, while the hotel may still serve as a functional stay option in Kuantan, the level of hospitality and service fell short compared to other Hyatt properties I have experienced. With proper upgrades and service improvements, the hotel certainly has the potential to better align with Hyatt’s usual brand standards.
The location is just nice. Great scenary, not too cold but not hot. It's windy when we were there.
For me here one day trip is just enough as there is just a small area unless you want to stay for a night there.
The room was spacious but no carpet - cold for out feet. We got an upgrade room but unfortunately the elevator not working to the first floor, they apologized to use by giving 10% off for food to bought there.
Breakfast - we booked with breakfast , satisfied with many choices available and good taste too.
For the restaurant around there- not really satisfied as not so much choices plus pricy compared to the food served.
Brought my child to the rabbit farm and Japanese garden - it's free for those who stayed at the Colmar Tropicale.
We stayed at Chateau Spa, Bukit Tinggi for 4 days and 3 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was a truly pleasant and relaxing experience. The resort was peaceful and beautifully maintained, making it a perfect place to unwind and celebrate a special occasion.
The room was clean, and the toilet was well kept, which made the stay very comfortable. The staff service was truly tip-top—everyone was attentive, caring, and clearly prioritised our wellbeing and comfort throughout our stay. Their professionalism and warmth really stood out.
As for the food, breakfast and the buffet were fine, but the à la carte meals for lunch and dinner were definitely worth the money. The portion sizes matched the price well, and there was a good variety of Western and Malay cuisine. We tried the Western dishes, including salmon and steak, and they were delicious.
The spa prices were affordable, though booking in advance is recommended. We visited during the last few days of December, and the weather was cold and lovely, adding to the overall relaxing experience. We left feeling happy, refreshed, and well taken care of. Would definitely recommend this place for a peaceful getaway or a special celebration.
The apartment was very clean and well managed by the operator. Apartment is still new and spacious. Check in instructions were very clear and easy to follow.
The only issue that we faced was the jacuzzi at the balcony. My child was waiting to enjoy it but it wasn't working. It can't heat the water, thus the water was too cold for my child. Operator was very responsive, brought the technician to try to fix but unfortunately, it can't be fixed.
One more thing to note is that it took us about 20min, slight uphill walk to reach Sky Avenue.
Overall its a nice stay, operator was very responsive.
Me and my husband booked this hotel for our staycation before Ramadan start. The price offer affordable with our budget since we went there during school holiday and CNY. We choose superior room which located in front of the pool. The resort are huge/big, a bit classic since the room interior quite oldies. I guess it's true this resort was build on 1987~ somewhere. The resorts well maintain, the staff are welcoming, polite, good PR with guests inquiries. The resort have great access to the beach that you may walk from the room/pool/restaurants. They have 2 pools, the one are surround by the villas/superior room and they have pool theme park (small theme park), require to wear the bands (will provide during check-in), the kids definitely enjoyed playing at the pool so do adults too. The other side of theme park pool, the have pool facing the beach and besids the restaurant, and of course their lifeguard always monitor the guests in pool area. There so many type of rooms you may choose in future. Furthermore, their breakfast menus are satisfied to enjoy, staff that always ready to clean up once guest finished their meal. Overall it's very comfy, nice and beautiful resort to choose for staycation/holiday. Definitely will come again in future.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Memorable Stay at Royale Chulan Villa Cherating
We stayed at Royale Chulan Villa Cherating on Deepavali eve, and the experience was truly special. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to the Premium Villa, which came with our own private swimming pool — such a perfect touch for relaxation and privacy.
That night, we enjoyed the Deepavali buffet spread, and it was excellent. There was a wide variety of dishes, flavourful and festive, making the dinner feel really meaningful and celebratory.
The villa itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The private pool was definitely the highlight — peaceful, clean, and perfect for an evening dip.
Overall, it was a memorable stay with wonderful service and thoughtful gestures. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing seaside villa experience with a touch of luxury!
The homestay was beautiful, and the moment we opened the balcony, we were greeted with a stunning sea view. We arrived in the afternoon, and the tide was low at that time. We saw some tourists walking along the beach, so we joined them for a stroll. On the next day, just before checking out, we noticed that the tide had come in, and we even saw fishing boats heading out to sea. We were very satisfied with our stay.
We stayed one night at 1001 Nights Hotel during our Genting trip and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel has a unique Arabian-inspired theme, which makes it feel different from the usual highland hotels — very Instagrammable, especially around the lobby and common areas.
The room was clean, comfortable, and suitable for a short family stay. Beds were cozy, and basic amenities were well provided. Although the room size was moderate, it was sufficient for resting after a full day out.
Location-wise, it’s convenient if you’re driving, with easy access to Genting attractions. Parking was available, which was a plus. The surroundings were calm and quiet, perfect for winding down.
Staff were friendly and helpful during check-in and throughout our stay. While facilities are relatively simple (don’t expect a full resort setup), it’s good value for money, especially for a short stopover or transit stay in Genting.
Pros:
• Unique Arabian theme & nice ambience
• Clean and comfortable rooms
• Friendly staff
• Good value for money
Cons:
• Limited facilities
• Better suited for short stays
Overall, a nice alternative if you’re looking for something different in Genting Highlands without breaking the bank. Would consider staying again for a short getaway.
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, the service was excellent, and the staff were very helpful. Great location and very comfortable environment. Will definitely come again!”..
Very helpful staff, especially Anisha. She was kind, attentive, and very supportive throughout our stay.”
Pros:
- The hotel is clean
- The villa was surrounded by greenery, and surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes at night
- Each room has a dedicated parking spot (though there was some confusion upon arrival, we have to park at public parking first then after check in only move to the reserved parking. )
- Water park looks good
Cons:
- Facilities are very old
- Bed springs were noticeable and uncomfortable.
- Bathtub had visible cracks.
- Showerhead and towel bar were rusty.
- Beach area had overgrown grass.
- Breakfast staff were unfriendly.
- Food was average.

ZZamri BaharudinThe best hotel in Cherating. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was decent. The beach was clean, and the hotel's surroundings were also pleasant.
BBeeshman BahiradanBerjaya Tioman Resort exceeded every expectation — a true island gem that combines natural beauty, comfort, and warm Malaysian hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a refreshing drink, instantly setting the tone for a memorable stay.
What really stood out was the impeccable service. Every staff member was courteous, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Whether it was arranging snorkeling excursions, jungle treks, or just offering local insights, the team made us feel valued and well cared for.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway that still offers adventure, comfort, and incredible scenery, Berjaya Tioman Resort is the place to be.

AAnonymous UserThe place is quite clean but the view is fantastic! It might be a bit confusing for some people to find their hotel room since they have lots of towers but if you follow the instructions and signs, you will find your room. Will come here again for sure 😊 oh you can just watch the sunrise from the hotel too!
